My daughter had folliculitus on her legs and she got cured by applying castor oil.
It took a couple of months but she has not had an outbreak now in three years. It even helped with scars.
She would massage in the castor oil for a couple of minutes and then add another layer. Hope this helps. However, I should mention that castor oil leaves stains which are hard to come off.
