Second bout of acute bronchitis and asthma flare up this winter in past 48 hours, combined with a cold.
Symptoms: Initially severe sore throat for 24 hours. Then cold symptoms, rhinitis, sneezing, running nose, blocked / inflamed nose, struggling to breath via nose. Tight chest, heavy feeling at top of chest, Rales (also called crackles). Struggled to sleep due to congestion. Exhausted, low mood.
Just FYI: I do not manage asthma with steroids and rarely use (relief) salbutamol inhalers. Have been relying on Buteyko breathing and other forms of anti-inflation.
I had very good results within 24 hours using the following:
Colloidal silver is a powerful and natural antibiotic.
Colloidal silver used with DMSO is a potent combination, given DMSO's nature. Along with amplifying substances and giving them greater access to tissues, DMSO is bacteriostatic (meaning it inhibits bacteria). This combination can be used to deal with any level of infection systemically or topically.
DMSO has antimicrobial properties, is a muscle relaxant, Increases production of white cells and macrophages, important cells for the immune system, Increases cell membrane permeability, allowing for removal of toxins, Is an effective pain killer, blocking nerves conducting pain signals and importantly is Reduces inflammation and swelling by affecting inflammatory chemicals.
Sources: Healing with DMSO by Amandha Vollmer, her book is a must have.
The below is a combination of Amandha's advice and my own experimentation.
Topical solution:
50% DMSO (15ml) + 50% distilled water (15ml). Added 10ml of 15ppm Colloidal silver. 3 Drops of iodine (make sure nascent for use with c/silver).
Applied this to chest and bridge of nose.
Note: You would normally want 70-80% DMSO but I find the reaction on my skin too great, so I went for a lower amount. But applied regularly. 4-6 times a day, especially before bed.
Always clean skin before applying as DMSO will carry anything it touches into your blood stream.
I like apply with a brush (make sure the brush is not made of synthetic fibres and does not have dies in it, as DMSO is a solvent and will leach these and take them into your blood street). But also sometimes use cotton wool. You can apply with your hands, but then you have to be careful what you touch and not wash your hands with water for 20 mins.
Apply a thin layer on, allow it to dry, do not put clothes on or touch any fabrics washed in detergents until its dry and ideally for up-to 20 mins.
It can be very itchy and even a bit sore, try not to use your fingers as it'll soak in to your skin and you then have to be careful what you touch as mentioned above, have some clean and wooden nearby to deal with any itching for first 10-20mins.
I then normally apply pure aloe vera to reduce itching and soreness.
Sinus Rinse:
Normal saline netti pot. 10ml of DMSO 1/2 of c/Silver.
I don't go too crazy with this, my nose cavity was not only stuffed up with mucus but also was inflamed to point I could barely breath. This solution reduced the swelling and allowed me to breath. I used it every time it got blocked probably every 2-3 hours.
As soon as I could breath fairly normally and my nose stopped running I stopped this. I prefer to let the body do its own thing as much as possible and not nuke everything with anti-bacterial agents like c/silver.
Nebuliser:
I'm cautious what I inhale, I have tried c/silver and glutathione and saline before. And very low dose hydrogen peroxide and saline. The latter made wheezing worse.
After getting a good response from topical application to the chest. I tried the following and had excellent results:
33% DMSO (1.25ml) 67% Distilled water (2 x 1.25ml) + then added 2.5ml c/silver to that solution.
I nebulized this in two sessions an hour or so apart.
This cleared chest and stopped wheezing almost immediately and had a calming effect. Cough became productive and some dark yellow phlegm came out. The heavy feeling in upper chest reduced. There was still a cough but the rales and crackles stopped within in a few minutes, which I assume is the anit-inflamatory effect of DMSO.
On second session.
5ml DMSO / 5ml distilled saline water / 5ml C/silver.
I did this 3 times a day and reduced the topical application to 3 times.
A note on timings of my experiments:
Sore throat appeared Thursday night. Friday morning cold and nose issues. And by end of the day cough. Saturday chronic cough and nose issues. I was taking DMSO for a pain condition, so it was already in my system.
Started DMSO protocol above Saturday with topical applications to chest and nose area. And then nasal rinses in the afternoon.
By Sunday morning, there was a marked improvement and managed to get a full nights sleep on Saturday after waking up and having poor sleep due to breathing difficulties and discomfort Thur-Friday.
Sunday applied topical solution to chest and nose first thing. An hour later, nebulised. By Sunday lunch time there was a significant improvement after 3 nebulising sessions and two topical application to the chest. Whilst still a bit stuffy, have been able to breath through nose all Sunday.
Extremely successful intervention on this occasion.
