Question: I have a breast condition that I believe has stemmed from a mammogram which produced a intraductal papilloma, followed by breast surgery.

It has resulted in what I believe to be fat necrosis which has progress to a sometimes bloody discharge. I don't think it is cancer, but rather stems from that surgery.

Does anyone on this forum have advice as to how this could be treated? Would apple cider vinegar help dissolve the calcium? I refuse to have another mammogram, as this would just add to the problem.

Coconut oil & balmex are my go to products for fungus under the breasts.

You are absolutely 'right on' about fungal infection under the breasts from today's bras. I found a way to alleviate the pain/sting and infection. Making sure the area is dry, I first wipe the area clean with coconut oil; then rub the affected area lightly with balmex. I do this every night before bed & within a few days, the fungus is all gone. This has worked on my chin dermatitis as well. I also NEVER wear a bra to bed; I let my boobies breathe all night and only occasionally ( too heavy! ) during the day. Smarter now about candida, I eat -100 carbs per day as carby foods can explode and feed the ever-present-on-the-human-body fungus. I also handwash my bras now, something I was always lazy about doing despite my grandmother's teachings. Soaking 30 min then hand-scrubbing with a toothbrush gets that "rim" much cleaner than a washing machine. These fungal infections are hyper-plaguing humanity & our pets now, and, from what I hear and read, this situation is expected to get worse. Fungus & Candida compromises the immune system by keeping the body inflamed and that can result in problems with allergic reactions, heart disease, colon, pancreas, gall bladder, kidneys, liver, skin, & mental issues (just naming a few). For me, nixing grains, sugar, and milk is the key along with 'under-eating' at each meal.

Hello! What can I do to increase the size of my breasts naturally? I have read about some herbs like pueraria mirifica, massaging the breasts, etc... Also, when I started taking the pill my breasts got fuller, so I know something was going on there... Thanks!

The herbs that will enhance breast size are Saw Palmetto, Wild Yam and Fenugreek. There are breast enlargement pills that contain all three, that seem to have good reviews. However you can buy all three herbs individually for a lot less.

Massaging your breasts, I'm assuming, is a form of jelqing, which is done in many cultures by men, since the beginning of time, to increase the size of their member. I have a friend who was rebounding (using a mini trampoline) as exercise and claimed that her bust was increasing in size. This is the first thing I thought of.

Thanks Timh. I have actually decided not to go with the Palm Oil products as mentioned before, as I see that it is recommended to go with a broad mix of carotenoids, rather than high numbers of the same carotenoid. Also said that a survey showed that men who took carotenoid supplements had a higher risk of prostate cancer and I thought that maybe this might transfer for women, so I won't be supplementing or adding products. I think that I will just stick to your opinion of adding veggies and boosting with zinc for maximum potency- genius! . Thanks again for your advice, seems you are nearly running the show! Good Luck and Best Wishes to you.

Hi, I am in my twenties and my endocrinologist has told me that I have a breast sensitivity issue. I am wondering if this is the same as an inflammation problem. Does anybody know what causes this. I think my hormones are o.k. And my periods are regular so I don't want to mess with this. Are there any foods that I can add/eliminate or an lifestyle issues that I can address to resolve this.

Posted by Timh (Louisville, Ky, Usa) on 04/26/2013 2048 posts

Anna: Anytime I hear the word "sensitivity" it most likely indicates a very low antioxidant nutrients status. Try to find a "Carotenoid Complex" one per day with meal. Also, a good Vit-E supplement you can find; Mixed Tocotreinols & Tocopherols is best; take w/ meal away from the Cara.

Breast Sensitivity Remedies
Posted by Anna (Europe) on 04/26/2013

Thankyou Timh for your feedback. You are very good. I'm not much into supplements, however, if needs must Do you know what foods I might find the carotenoid complex in. What does the "cara" refer to. Thank you once again.

Breast Sensitivity Remedies
Posted by Timh (Louisville, Ky, Usa) on 04/27/2013 2048 posts

Anna: Yes, sorry I simply find it much easier to supplement. Cara is a class of naturally occurring antioxidants that must be supplied in the diet. The dark color of fruits & veggies indicates the presence of carotinoids. Beta Carotene (body converts to Vit-A) is abundant in Carrots, Dandelion Root, Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Squash. Lycopene is abundant in Tomato paste. Luteine is abundant in Spinach and Marigold. Many Seaweeds and Algae's have an abundance of carotinoids. Vit-E is very not abundant in most foods with the exception of Palm Kernel Oil and Wheat Germ (Oil). Adding the whole powdered Wheat Germ to foods is an excellent boost to traditional recipe (has been used for yrs by athletes). Also E is abundant in the seeds of Annotto of the Achiote tree.

*Important* To catalyze or boost the antioxidant potential of the Carotinoids, supplement Zinc. Selenium potentates the Vit-E. Pumpkin Seeds are the only significant source of Zinc. Brazil Nuts are the only significant source of Selenium.

Serrapeptase
Posted by Timh (Louisville, Ky) on 09/25/2012 2048 posts

Annie, so good to hear your healing report; it will certainly ripple over to others needing the same.

Concerning Serrapeptase, if I am not mistaken, we owe a big THANX to the Japanese researchers who, by chance of observation, wondered at how their little "factory farm" silk worms weren't exactly chewing their way out of the cocoon but rather dissolving the fibrous material w/ their spit. On close examination the J's discovered the Serrapeptase enzyme in the worm's spit. As the research progressed, the farming method has been replaced by semi-synthetic culturing of the enzyme. They also discovered Nattokinase from the Natto fruit and how it is very similar to Serrapeptase.

Hi everyone, I have to apologise in advanced for getting a bit graphic here. A few days ago I was having a shower and I found a small flesh coloured pimple in the centre of my left breast, I thought it was weird but ignored it, a few days later it turned pitch black and the next day it fell off, Yes fell off and left a hole where it was.

I went to the Doctor and he checked for lumps and thank god it wasn't anything serious but he just told me that I must have scratched myself and it was a scab that fell off however I don't believe that is the case since it was a bubble like a pimple.

I have researched this online and it is very common for women to have this especially on their left breast yet no one has found out what it is.

At first I thought it was a skin tag that must have died and turned black and fell off but the doctor said that skin tags don't fall off and if it was a skin tag it wouldn't leave a hole (I don't think) Someone said that it was dead nipple tissue and that the nipple tissue wasn't getting enough blood so it turns black and falls off.

Does anyone know what this is? And if it's safe? And what I can do to fix it? Sorry about this scary information but I could use some information and some help and no I am not pregnant. Thank you

Hi Timh, Many thanks for your encouraging posts. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The doctor has finally referred me to an endocrinologist but she has assured me it will be quite a few months before I get to see her - visited my GP three weeks ago and no sign of an appointment yet, it's definately depressing.. My doctor said that the LSH and FH hormones were fine. I am nearly sure she said there was no excess oestrogen imbalance - just low folic acid. I told you in my previous posts that I suffer from migraines and also that I started going grey early on. I am wondering if maybe I suffer from some kind of deficiency and was reading here on EC about the nutritious BSM, however I have also read an article or two where it has upset the menstrual cycle, (although most articles here seem to praise it for menstrual cycles) and as mine is pretty regular I would be very cautious about taking anything which may disrupt it. With regard to neuropathy I was wondering if you have heard of Jarrows Methyl B12 for supporting healthy nervous system or even have you any opinion on how the Methyl B12 rate in comparison to regular B12?
Thanks again for your posts. Kind regards.

Cassie, glad to hear back from you and that you are seeking to remedy your issues. If you test low for Folic Acid, supplementing B-12 will lower it even more. I would recommend boosting all vit/min naturally or w/ a good multivitimin/mineral supplement. Go ahead and try some BSM w/ added honey and if it has negative side effects drop it. Bentonite clay is a good source of minerals and would help detox the body. As for the mineral bath I mentioned earlier, you can benefit using the "foot-bath" method; the Epsom salt is soothing to the nervous system and aids detoxification and the baking soda diminishes acidity. Any of the honey bee products are nature's most nutrition dense. Bee Pollen granules is arguably the single best food on the planet. Back to the B-12; if you wish to boost, the methylcobalamin is the "active" form of B-12 and would be the best supplement; however, it is important that you get half as much Folic Acid as B-12. Try to find a product w/ these two together.

As for migraines, have you tried Vinpocetine or Hydrazine? I hope something is helping as this can be terrible.

Lastly, the Amino Acid GABA (1 gram) taken before retiring is a great tranquilizer and also increases natural Growth Hormone levels which helps turn back the clock on aging; I believe this is available in UK as it is a natural protein.

Hope this helps and report any changes, ok.

Hi Timh. Always good to get your posts. Unfortunately I now seem to have some kind of a swelling under my tongue (left side, I think it might be the duct-seems to go up and down at times) eating turnips seems to be the only thing that helps reduce the swelling. I am trying to detox as best I can but need to be careful now I'm taking medication. Thanks for your tips including the Epsom footbath. Just wondering if this or taking lots of supplements/high dosages of supplements or indeed detoxing in general will affect the efficacy of the medication. I looked around in town for BSM but could only locate Black Treacle, so I will try elsewhere over the next few days. The methyl b supplements I see are available in both capsule and sublingual form. Any recommendations on which is best. I have contacted a few sites in relation to official stockists of supplements on this side of the pond as I would be cautious about buying any foodstuff over the internet.

Was wondering can you recommend any site for supplements as I have a friend in the U. S who would happily oblige in getting them for me but most of them ship internationally anyway. I have bought from drugstore in the past but never supplements, was thinking of giving them a try.. I'm afraid I seem to be having a problem with stress at the moment. It has always affected me to some extent but giving up caffeine related products which used to be my crutch has proved difficult. I seem to be suffering from quite bad nervousness at times when in stressful situations. Anyway, I will update when I get some news regarding the breast issue. Regards for now.

Cassie, I am hoping that you can get back to good health once again.

Many USA health food or supplement retailers do a good bit of international business, so they usually have a flat shipping rate that is affordable. Iherb.com is one w/ lots of UK customers, as I once read many user responses but now they seem to have been deleted for some reason. Swanson Foods is a big favorite as they have great products as well as prices. BetterHealthInternational, Vitacost, Vitaglo, Vitaminlife, have all been good to me. AmazonUK includes many retailers which you can rate by the number of stars they receive.

As for B-12 unless you have digestive problems the sublingual would not be necessary, but try and find one w/ Folate also. Do try the GABA I mentioned as it could greatly benefit the body & mind. The stress you experience plus the other side effects seem to all indicate some kind of toxicity, so stay tuned for the many methods of detoxing and cleansing. Do try some Bentonite Clay as it is such a good cleaner and provider of minerals (I had two caps today).

As for interactions, this usually isn't an issue but it is good to ALWAYS read medication information thoroughly, supplements labels also indicate any possible interaction. While using the hypertension medicine Lisinipril I have experienced no problems and I take supplements by the hand-full; Oil Pulling, Detox Foot Spa or Pads don't seems to change the medication affect either.

Stay close to E. C. As there are so many helping heads here and all the good post; we all differ but we have the common goal of wellness. If I can help you further here's my email: kr892002 (at) yahoo (dot] com

Thank you Cassie and also Lisa from Jax, Fl, Rsw from Uniontown, Oh (already expressed gratitude to Lisa of Ca), and everyone else here that's been any help to me.

I really am naturally gracious as I have been battling a first chronic condition that worsened to an acute episode of leukemia of which I miraculously survived but not without much almost unbearable suffering, and only to go back into a chronic state again for about 12 yrs until in 2009 began a rapid decline once again. In the last episode of decline I had all my previous yrs experience as an ally but was yet overcome and found myself here on E. C. desperate for any lifesaving measures. It's been almost a 1yr now that a stop or reversal of disease has proved in itself also a threat as is the case in many "healing crisis".

And then there's the psychological, social and personal factors that can be horrible. My mother's passing w/ cancer in 2009 almost put me away but I took on an attitude of detachment and thought of nothing except what I must do for myself --the only form of selfishness, I suppose, of not an evil nature. The severity & complexity of my situation and the lack of professional help is astonishing. My Christian Faith, once strong, has all but eroded to apathy that god simply took a hit by Satan himself and wound up bartering a good deal to the evil one in this fallen garden we call earth or nature. NDE's have given me the grandest consolation that the best life is yet to come, as I have held a conservative ground against much opposition. I guess I have got like E. C. 's Robyn down under; am simply done w/ the suffering, how much can one person take??? Another day of fasting and then the dreaded gallbladder flush and maybe good results will leave me advance one step up in the direction of betterment.

Well, enough of this. Let's keep helping each other here and undoubtedly we will be rewarded in the supernatural.

Hi Timh, Bless you I wish you good health. Have you ever read any of the books by Norman Walker? Apart from living to about 100 and being a raw foodist he lectured on the huge benefits of colon cleansing to rid the body of toxins and kick start the healing process. He did talk of miraculous recoveries. I hope this helps. I am interested in this but have not experienced it, maybe it's out of fashion in the UK as I am struggling to find a centre. I haven't found much discussion of this on Earth Clinic but it could be another key to good health. X

Heather: I don't think I am familiar w/ Norman W. But I will check him out. I do have a book named Veggies For Life that I need to get back into. I keep my Colon clean on a daily basis w/ ground flax seeds orally, H2O2 enemas, and occasional Aloe Vera soft-gels orally. Am feeling much better now from a Gallbladder flush last night; haven't passed anything yet but I am sure I will as it's been several yrs since I flushed.

As for juicing, I have severely neglected this but do occasionally drink otc juice (i know it has lots of sodium). My current resolve is throw a bag of frozen veggies in the blender and add the otc grocer brand juice, toss some turmeric and garlic in there and let it mix. Since I haven't the energy & stamina or money to prepare fresh organic veggies this will at least be a good start. I hope to progress to sprouting wheat or beans and throw them in the veggie mix as the sprouts are loaded w/ enzymes.

Thanks for your concern and input; I am certain it will help me in my semi-critical condition. Hope you are well.

Maca tends to cause weight gain in the breast and buttocks area. I used it to help with my infertility issues, one of the side effects was breast enhancment. I used it daily for 6 months and stopped after regulating my cycles. I used Nativas raw Maca 1-2 Tbls every morning with orange juice. While others may like the taste, it made me gag - but orange juiced masked it for the most part. There are some blogs dedicated to natural breast enhancement that you may find helpful. Good luck.

Unfortunately women with breast cancer in their families are at the most risk in developing breast cancer themselves. Usually starts with a lump on their breast. If I were you I would immediately consider the highest priority for a breast exam before its to late!!! This matter can result into a potentially life threatening condition if you ignore the symptoms you just described.

Hi Sylk. Just wondered how you got on with the iodine, as I have just started it, the Kelp iodine and not sure, as to how long I should take it for. This is what I read about iodine.. An excess of iodine in your body can also lead to health problems. When exposed to excessively high levels of iodine, your body can slow or stop the production of thyroid hormones, causing temporary hypothyroidism. Other thyroid diseases caused by too much iodine include some thyroid cancers and thyrotoxicosis, which is characterized by excess levels of thyroid hormones in the bloodstream. You should, therefore, not to exceed the recommended dose when taking a kelp iodine supplement. You should only use liquid kelp supplements under a doctor's supervision. Soo confused.:(

Breast Discharge
Posted by Sculley (Asheville, North Carolina) on 04/07/2009

Thank you sooooo much for this website!!! Is it okay to post a question for help or just a post about a remedy? If question okay....

I started having an amber color discharge upon expression (squeezing) from two of my ducts in my right breast. I told my physician and she told me to go to a breast specialist. I didn't want to make a huge deal about it and read on the internet that it usually isn't a sign of cancer, however, it kept saying that if there's blood in the discharge, you should go to your doctor and get it checked out. Well, about a year or so later, the discharge from one of the ducts started turning a deeper color so I finally made the appointment with the specialist The doc tested it and it did, indeed, test for blood. She also found a lump next to the nipple at 9 o'clock. She said she thinks it's related to the duct with the discharge (and I think that's true b/c when I squeeze the lump spot, the discharge comes out). She did an ultra sound and there was a cyst that she said she's not concerned about but that the lump didn't show up. She said it could be four things: a pappiloma (wart), don't remember two of the other things and cancer. However, I just read this:

Most often, nipple discharge stems from a noncancerous (benign) condition. However, breast cancer is a possibility, especially if:

- You are over age 40
- You have a lump in your breast
- The discharge contains blood
- Only one breast is affected

Okay, now I am scared -- I can say "yes" to all of the above. Breast specialist told me she wanted me to do a ductogram and a mammogram. I told her I'd think about it and instead went to a homeopath. I tried a remedy for two months. Nothing changed. I followed up with the breast specialist and this time she said that nothing had changed and that her recommendation had changed to doing a biopsy and a mammogram. The problem is that the "biopsy" for this kind of thing is actually surgery -- it's taking the whole duct out to see what's causing the bleeding. I checked this on the internet and it seemed that that is what all the sites were saying too. However, I did read a site where some other women had the same symptoms and did everything the docs suggested (mammo, ducto, biopsy/surgery and cat scan or a test like that) and it ended up being nothing.

I am much more of the natural/holistic persuasion and would much rather do this holistically. I am trying acupuncture right now with a long-time acupuncturist who specializes in breast cancer and breast issues. I've been going once a week for six or seven weeks. I also had a lymph massage and went to an energy healer. Nothing's changed and if anything, I think it might now also be swollen in a line next to the "lump". I do have pain (not severe) in the breast.

Do you know what this is or should I treat like cancer? Acupuncturist said she didn't think I have cancer. Any and suggestions would be so welcome!

Thanks so much in advance for your help.

As a breast cancer survivor, PLEASE go and get a diganosis from a doctor. Hopefully it's nothing and you can go on with whatever treatment you choose, but in the event it is cancer, you are wasting precious time and the possibility of it spreading beyond your breast into other areas of your body.

I'm all for natural cures, however from reading this board and others, it seems many people never take the time to get properly diagnosed, then proceed to treat themselves according to what they THINK they have (which often doesn't work b/c they're treating the wrong illness). Many ailments have very similar symptoms and unless the proper tests are done you won't know for sure.

If you don't want the more invasive procedure, ask them to do the biopsy first, but the fact that when you returned to your doctor a few months later they recommended a more advanced procedure would lead me to believe they think it's something more then just a benign cyst or wart.

Wishing you the BEST of Health!

T from Maryland, thank you so much for your directness. So you would agree to do a mammogram and the surgery? The acupuncturists left it up to me but when I asked, they did comment that there's a point or meridian that goes right through the breast and they said they never needle there and putting a knife in there and cutting it out is much more than a needle. I scheduled a thermogram for tomorrow. What do you think of that? Also, the acupuncturist specializes in cancer and they said they don't think I have it (I know they're not supposed to be diagnosing).

B from Washington, DC, Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate it. Just to clarify, the reason I have been hesitant about the "biopsy" is b/c it is the surgery. The biopsy is taking the whole duct out b/c of the nature of the problem. My DC/herbalist thinks I'm fine, and said that I need that tissue/ lymph. So, I've been getting confirmation on both sides. I appreciate your feedback and will be making a decision soon. Thermogram today. I hear that cat scans are almost 100% effective compared to mammograms.

Detoxing From Mammograms

I am due to have a mammogram. I have both positive and negative feelings about it. I would be interested in hearing both pros and cons and also is there something I can do to protect myself from the radiation?

Detoxing From Mammograms

I had a mammogram yesterday for a possible cyst or nodule on one of my breasts, which are already fibrocystic. 8 x-rays were done on one side, 2 on the other (the radiologist was really thorough). Luckily it appears that all is okay, but today I can absolutely feel the effects of the radiation, especially around my throat for some reason. The lymphs in my throat are slightly swollen. I am taking vitamin c, may even do a few cold showers, but does anyone have any other suggestions to get rid of the radiation? Thanks so much.

Hi Rena.

I have also had breast cysts for most of my life. I only recently found some relief. Have you tried iodine supplementation? I take two particular potassium iodide/iodine supplements. One of the supplements has other ingredients that are helpful for the thyroid. I have read that iodine gets rid of breast cysts. Along with the iodine supplements I have been taking the herb Maca. Somehow, the combination of these three supplements has made my breasts feel normal again. I ran out of Maca last month and just skipped it until I reordered it. During the time I skipped it, I had painful breasts again. Also I have noticed that my PMS is virtually non-existent; I sometimes get a little emotional but don't have many physical ailments (sore breasts). If you would like the brand names of where I got these supplements, feel free to email me and I'll be happy to share! Laura

The baking soda/lemon is taken along with chromium supplements. However, magnesium is also needed, such as 250-500 mg. The magnesium is antagonistic to the calcium. Pain can easily be reduced usually within 3 to 4 days with the magnesium supplements. However, I have found increasingly more chlorine, fluorine and bromine in the U.S. diets that it is suppressing the body's hormones, immune system and hence, a vitamin C at least 500 mg is preferably mixed in a drinking water with just one drop of Lugol's solution (iodine mix that contains the iodine and iodide). The reason is that iodine is very alkaline and this can be proven after taking them before and immediately taking that the alkalinity using the pH paper of both the saliva and urine becomes more alkaline, hence I now use iodine as one of my favorite alkaline substances, beside the previous post of baking soda, potassium bicarbonate, potassium citrate, sodium citrate, sodium carbonate and potassium carbonate. What iodine does to cyst is it increase the body's immune system, but it also increases the body' enzyme to digest it. A digestive enzyme taken on empty stomach may also help further, reduce the cyst. However, most of the results will be seen with magnesium supplements if there is a pain coming from the breast cysts, but the more complete the supplement, the more synergistic it is, without the need of taking unreasonably high dose of either one or the other supplements.

Hi and thanks to everyone for your feedback. I have to admit there is so much information that I don't know what to follow. I'm already taking lugols, just started magnesium/vitamin e/zinc. I suppose I can try the 1 drop of lugols with vitamin c - can't hurt and I already have it in my cupboard.

Thanks Laura, for some reason I couldn't get to your email address - would love product info but not certain how to reach you.

Anyhow, thanks everyone

Rena
