Recently I went to India. When I returned I started to have diarrhea. I thought it would go away in a day or two but it did not. After five days of misery I went to the CVS and bought keopectate. Didn't work. I tried a vegetable diet, sea salt, apple cider vinegar, nothing worked. Now it's ten days and I'm fifteen pounds lighter, weak, and finding it hard to keep hydrated not to mention that going to the bathroom was now agony. I was ready to go to my doctor/hospital.

My wife who was still in India told me to take Tumeric. There was a big container of it so I mixed a heaping teaspoon in a glass of water and drank it down. Slightly bitter but I liked the taste. The next morning I took another dose and that was it. My stomach settled right down and a day later it was gone. Really amazing.

I had a very severe sore throat. I tried the ACV with honey & garlic and it helped a great deal. I added lemon juice to the mixture for good measure. Also when, I had "the runs", I used Tumeric and it was almost working immediately. So this is a YEA for home remedies.

Turmeric remedy (Diarrhea): Turmeric always works for me. Unlike over the counter medications which take 3 or more days Turmeric works instantly. I've been using this for over an year now after reading from this website.

I had the worst Diarrhea of my life for two days. Pepto Bismol and Kaeopectate were completely ineffective against the problem. Having used Apple Cider Vineagar prior for various cures based off reccomendations on this site with great success I turned to that. I took 2 Tbls for 2x's a day for a day and a half and while it cured my rumbling stomach instantly it did little if anything to cure the Diarrhea.

So I turned to the Turmeric remedy listed here. Went to the store and paid a whole .99 for a little bottle of the spice. Filled up a small glass of water with 1 teaspoon of the spice, stirred it in and took it down. Insta-cured. It stopped the problem from the moment I took it. Keep stirring or sloshing the spice around in the glass when you drink it so it doesn't build up and get really hard to take down during the bottom of the glass.

As a sidenote, my mom got sick with the same symptoms a day later, and again nothing was working. She took the same stuff as I did and again, she was cured instantly.

I'm amazed!

Hi Suzanne, Agree with you on the treatment but suggest sticking with clear juices and water or tea. Can't recommend anyone to drink broths because most all the broths or bulloin used to make your own are laden with that neurotoxin or excitotoxin monosodium glutmate. Also advise staying away from any diet drinks because of another neurotoxin (aspartame) in them.

Curing diarrhea is so simple! Just do a clear liquid diet for 24 hours and you'll be fine again. No weird ingredients, no doses to take, just drink clear juices or broths and NO FOOD for 24 hours. My mother used to recommend sipping a rehydration solution of 1 pint water to 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 teaspoon salt, stirred, but I can't say that I have noticed anything wonderful about that.

My mother used to grind to paste a one inch piece of raw or dried turmeric on the grinding stone, dilute it with 2 cups water, add a pinch of salt and boil the mixture thoroughly till it was reduced to 1 cup. The mixture was allowed to stand for the sediment to settle. The clear solution from the top was to be taken while still warm to stop diarrhea due to food poisoning. Turmeric is a mild antiseptic.

Dear Earth Clinic - Last week I had an awful stomach flu (throwing up, diahrea). The vomiting stopped, but the 'hrea stayed around all day. I found the tumeric cure on Earth Clinic. I remembered a friend told me about it years ago, so I tried 1/2 teaspoon tumeric in a cup of hot water. It didn't taste that badly (maybe I'm used to taking herbs). I had one or 2 more loose stools, but the 'hrea stopped and I was able to start hydrating properly again. I recommend it.

I have been experiencing very rough diarrhea the past week, and haven't been able to sleep in four days because I was kept away from my bed. I saw the remedy of cinnamon and made my own meal, simple toast with cinnamon sugar on top, and immediately my internal system calmed down. It's a very easy process that has helped me get back into a routine life.

I have had Diarrhea almost EVERY DAY for 6 weeks! The past week it had gotten so bad that I went to the ER twice for dehydration. I couldn't stop the diarrhea. The last bout was 12 times in one day...that landed me in the ER. They were of no help on how to stop it so I did some research. (What the heck took me so long???) I tried the ACV remedy yesterday and NO MORE DIARRHEA!!! It works beautifully!!!

It really works! After trying everything I could get my hands on, and six days of constant diarrhea, I tried the turmeric - and within hours I am back on track. Thanks for saving me the Doctor bills. I used one teaspoon in an 8 oz glass of warm water. Had to hold my nose to get it down but it was worth it.

Cream of Wheat Cereal

I have had diarrhea every morning for a year and a half. Then I remembered that my mother use to give my brother diarrhea whenever he got it. I started to eat it at night before bed time, and it works. No more diarrhea in the morning. Cream of Wheat takes up water, and that is no doubt why it works. If you have it all day, eat it as often as necessary.
