Electrolyte Drink for Diarrhea and Cholera
Posted by Sherie (TN) on 01/26/2008
★★★★★

I have tried over and again to send you info for curing diarrhea, cholera, but can't get it to go. It just comes back and wants me to re-enter the code. In gist if you'd like to check this out yourself. Cure for diarrhea/cholera is maintaining osmotic pressure/electrolytes. In 1 quart of water add I tablespoon of sugar (any sweet would do, maple syrup, honey, etc.,) and 1 teaspoon of salt. Drink continually until the infection has passed. This will save lives. Love your website. Great info! Sherie in TN

I had diarrhea for 3 days and was going to make a Dr. s appointment on the 3rd day, but I decided to try the 2 Tbsp. of Apple Cider Vinegar. I am so glad I did! I really can't believe how well this stuff works. I didn't have diarrhea at all after taking just 2 Tbsp. of ACV. I am amazed and SO glad I found this web site!!! Thanks for this web site and thank you to everyone who has posted there feedback, it really helped me out!

Blackstrap Molasses, Baking Soda

When I was a little girl if I had an upset stomach my grandmother would mix up black strap molasses and a small amount of baking soda. She would wait for a while as it puffed up and then would give me a spoonful. It always worked , so I tried recently and after 45 years it still does.

Turmeric

I had the worst case of diarrhea I'd ever experienced, and not sure of the cause -- 48 hours of running to the bathroom every 15 to 30 minutes. I wanted to try a natural cure before resorting to medication, but none of the "cures" I'd read were feasible. I found this site and read the advice to try 1 tsp. of turmeric spice in a glass of warm water (only once a day) and tried it. I could feel my stomach settling down as I slowly downed the drink. For the rest of that evening until the morning I was able to rest and not go to the bathroom at all. In the morning I had some loose stools again but not as bad as they had been. I waited a little while until just before I was set to go on a long drive and then took my 2nd day's dose. That was about 10 hours ago and I haven't had any bowel problems since. I'm still amazed at how effective this was.

I have had reoccurring diarrhea for 3 weeks. I tried the cinnamon stick w/water and it really helped. I used 1 stick and 1 1/2 c water, added a little honey for sweetener and within 30 min my problem was better. The cramps got worse with the first few drinks but when the cup was gone so were the cramps. It has been hours and no diarrhea. I am so happy I found this site. Thanks for the post

Bread Pudding

My mom told me to try bread pudding for my daughter who was 5 at the time for diarrhea. I had no idea how to make so I just winged it. My mom told me the milk had to be scorched so I boiled enough milk to cover the bottom of the pot until it seemed to be over cooked and cubed a piece or two of bread, crust and all, put some cinnamon and brown sugar in, mixed it until it was thick and gooey and not only did she love it, her diarrhea was gone. Even my mom was shocked when I told her it worked. Any time my daughter has any signs of diarrhea, I make it for her and it's worked every time. I hope this helps!

Mixing a teaspoon of baking soda and a half squeezed fresh lemon or lime in 6 to 8 oz. of water, always helps me.

Apple Cider Vinegar

I was on my fourth day of extreme diarrhea and was becoming concerned because of no relief. I had recently completed taking antibiotics for a tooth infection and had started taking a probiotic with a high concentration of L-acidophilus. I'm sure that was helping. But when I started taking raw, unfiltered organic apple cider vinegar with the "mother" I saw immediate results. I also stopped eating any diary products such as milk, eggs, cheese, and also sugar. I always rejoice when I don't have to go to the doctor!

Blackberry and Raspberry Tea
Posted by Susan (USA)
★★★★★

Raspberries are rich in astringent tannins that may reduce intestinal inflammation and block the absorption of toxins. Raspberry or blackberry-leaf tea is also said to be effective, but should be avoided in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. You can make your own tea with leaves and fresh fruits. Drink one cup several times a day, between meals.

Yogurt, Garlic, Blackberries

For Diarrhea

My remedy is a combination of 3 things. First try apple cider vinegar I have great belief in it.( not braggs since they changed it now) 8/1/24. If that doesn't work. Try whole plain yougurt with blackberries and minced garlic like 1-2 small cloves. Try it together or separately. I just put the garlic in a spoon and chug with water. I saw people post these remedies separately. Here's the logic. The yougurt has good bacteria that balances the gut. The garlic kills bad bacteria in the gut, and the blackberries have tannins that give an astringent affect. I rather try Natural things first than medications. This worked for me! Not sure which one did it, or if all but it worked. I tried not to eat the seeds of the blackberries and spit them out. I also wore a pad on the back of my underwear in case I pooped my pants when I went out. Lol! Drink plenty of Electrolyte liquids!

Brat Formula

I love your sitet Thank you so much for it has helped so many times. I was just looking up for Diarrhea and noted the Brats formula which I have used for myself and others many times is written incorrectly. It says; (While you are suffering with diarrhea, eat simply. The traditional BRAT diet is a good one. (Bread, rice (white), applesauce, toast.) Dairy products, fried foods, and spicy foods are best avoided until the diarrhea problem is resolved.) It should say;"BANANA" rice, applesauce and toast. I use the baby cereal Non GMO Organic Whole Grain Rice cereal. That way it is always ready to go. Also Dry Baby food Banana should work too.

To cure diarrhoea my father said, boil cows milk, add a pinch of salt and pepper and full fat natural butter, then drink. It works. I don't know why.

Matchstick Remedy
Posted by Rw (Southwest Virginia) on 11/22/2015

I've not had the occasion to use this, but it was so intriguing I had to post it. If you Google "matchstick diarrhea Joepathy" you'll find more info on it, and the matchstick remedy is supposed to be good for other things. But here is what to do for diarrhea (and I haven't been able to tell if any matches will do or just the safety matches they have in Sri Lanka where Joe lives):

Take 2 Matches from a matchbox and light one.
Have the second match handy in your hand and light it from the first.
Dunk it immediately into a cup of water so that it will light and extinguish itself in the water.
Repeat the same process 3 times over with 3 sets of matches for best results.

Give the patient a teaspoonful from the water every hour or every time after a bowel movement.

I'd love to know if this works. Would be an easy thing to take on an international trip.

EC: Interesting testimonials and discussion about what is contained in a match head found on above-referenced site here.

I have no idea of the cause but I had terrible stomach cramps and diarrhea. Tried several natural remedies and nothing worked. Ate several pieces of candied ginger, laid down to rest for a bit and all cramping and diarrhea ceased within 20 minutes. Amazing!
