I read about benefits of doing a three day alkaline water fast so I bought some alkaline water and started drinking it, by the second day I noticed my dry, red itchy eyes were gone! My eyes felt perfectly fine, and felt soothed. Now I alkalize twice a day . Some people buy an alkalizing formula or you can just use Ted's method Alkalizing is the key that cured my dry, red itchy eye problem.I hope this helps other people.

This morning I was having an allergic reaction to some dust I accidentally picked up from a shopping basket at a big box store. One of my eyes was pink and also itched and felt uncomfortable.
After splashing some plain tap water onto my partially closed eye, all my troubles went away after a couple of hours. Sometimes all you need is some plain tap water.

If you suffer from sore itchy eyes, make a cup of tea using a tea bag and when the tea bag cools down, place the tea bag on your open eye (two if both eyes) and let sit there for a minute or so. Problem gone. This is an old Aboriginal remedy used by our Indigenous people.

Itchy Eyes- I have had grit in my left eye for quite a few years. It is very uncomfortable. I finally figured out what caused it. I was using shampoo -- the Walmart version of Head and Shoulders. After I stopped using it, this condition went away. My dermatologists had recommended I wash my face with my shampoo. I am 10 days from using it and my eye has been completely healed. By not using it any longer, my face is not as red either.

To meowee, how often did you do this before you noticed results? I've also been to eye Dr.and specialist for the past 7 months, not 7 years (bless you), but this is miserable...constant red, irritated eyes. also just got the punctal plugs, made it worse, not better. just tried your method for the first time, eyes do feel a little better, but still red ...wondering how many times/day and days before results? thank YOU! Hope you see this. I know it's been years since you posted :)

Evening, baby shampoo with water over the wash basin. Rubbed with fingers, rinsed and go to bed.
Two days it was cured.

I started getting blurry vision and soon after itching around and felt like inside on my lids. I found remedies for using vinegar with eye problems. Lord and behold I found one for puffy and itchy eyes. Don't know what I had as for the type of infection but had relief at contact from vinegar. I also drink 8 oz of water with added mothers vinegar to work from the inside out. Fantastic results.

Bilberry Eye Bath

What I have used with success for watery eyes (tears just running down the cheek for no apparent reason) is an eye "bath" with Bilberry extract. I fill a clean eye bath cup with comfortably warm water, put in 8 or so drops of Bilberry extract, mix well (the extract tends to sink to the bottom) and cup it to each eye, looking in all directions so that it'll get everywhere.
This has also helped itchy eyes.

I've been suffering from Dry Eye's for several months, and they can get really red and itchy at times. A while back I was not able to spend more than 10 - 15 mins on the computer without eye drops.. that stung like crazy.. or I had to just go and lie down till they felt better. I have since almost 100% recovered from this condition using a very simple remedy. Pop on down to your local supermarket and get some Wet Baby Wipes that have Aloe Vera in them. Just wipe your eyes as often as needed. I was vastly improved after just a couple of days.. and within a week I almost never need drops anymore. My eyes go all day without itching.. and I can work again on the puter. I was so happy with the results I decided to make this posting on several websites. Try it.. you cant lose on this, just make sure you get the ones with Aloe Vera extract.. others dont work as well. All the best... Gary

I tried everything for dry eyes, we visited salt room for healing, our eyes became clear. I decided to get some water and sterilize it by boiling it for ten minutes and let it cool in a small porcelain or glass bowl ( do NOT use plastic bowl ) and put 1/4 tsp fine sea salt . I use fine sea salt, it dissolves faster, then combine the water and fine sea salt and splash it into my eyes. Dry red eyes cured after years of seeing eye doctor needlessly

Hi, how are you using the coconut oil? Are you applying it to your eyes as a compress or are you putting your face over the neti pot?
Thank you, Theresa

I have a long history of dry burning eyes. My eyes would burn somewhat. I was always thinking it may be caused by too low PH (acid) in my system but I have discovered my system becomes probably too high PH (alkaloid) caused by cal-mag supplements. When I take vitamin C, my burning eyes go away. Vitamin C also neutralizes chlorine effect on eyes that can be caused by swimming in chlorinated swimming pools. I swim year round.

I suffered for 7 years with dry, red, itchy eyes, and gritty . All the irritation had caused one eye had a small swollen bump, The eye doc prescribed spendy drops then they put in the tear plugs did not work. I tried all the natural cures as well as tons of eye products every single thing was making it my dry eyes worse.
One day my husband and I put some dead sea salts in my humidifer in our family room and I noticed both of our eyes clear and white, An idea was born.. I started putting 1-2 tablespoons of sea salt and 1/4 tsp of virgin coconut oil in a stainless steel pan of 2 cups of water and bring to a rolling boil then, I would turn the stove off and drape a towel over my head and let the steam gently go into my eyes, and then I would just shut my eyes and breath in the stream. I might do this for 10-15 minutes, My dry, red itchy gritty eyes were cured naturally and fast.
My eyes are now white, clear and the bump in my eye is now completely gone! I'm shocked at how fast and effective this natural remedy works it nothing short of miraculous recovery. Also go slow to be sure your comfortable with a little steam going into your eyes.

Since the tear ducts drain into the nose it makes sense that you could have low grade chronic sinus infection that over time maybe be effecting your eyes. My eyes were red, itching gritty feeling and burning at time. My tear ducts were itching too I started using 2x daily a Organic virgin coconut oil in my Neti simply take some of the coconut oil and mix in warmer water until it dissolves then put cooler water into the Neti pot so that you a comfortable with the temperature then use. I think OVCO is so powerful it helps your kill whatever was causing the itching and now my eyes are fine.

My symptoms I was suffering were a fever, chills, nausea, pressure in my abdomen and slight pain on the right side. Sometimes discomfort under my rib cage. I was scared it was serious! My medical doctor told me it was "anxiety" after they ran every single test known to western medicine. Except the baruim enema I went to an Nautropathic Dr who diagnosed me on the second visit with SIBO (small intestinal bacteria overgrowth) I also had been suffering from dry itchy red eyes for years, (my eye doctor told me I was getting older I was in my 30's) then I had crazy itchy skin it felt like bugs were crawling on me (I was in my thiries my doctor said it was dry skin or hormones) I left those inept doctor.
Then I started taking heavy doses of Vitamin C the itchy skin subsided. My dry itchy red eyes continued. Recently I thought I had a cavity since my tooth was hot and cold sensitive went to the dentist said I had sinisitis! My dentist told me to take Zinc and use saline solution for my sinus infection. Now I believe all of these thing are related that went undiagnosed for a long time. I started using collodial silver in purified water with GSE and saline in a Neti pot for my sinus infection I noticed my red itchy gritty eyes is slowly going away. I somtimes will just spray the colloidal silver into my eyes before bed. I also notice I was having the early onset of yeast infection so I addressed that with ACV and probiotics and Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) which kills yeast. I'm certain that all of these thing are all related! I have taken the very best care of myself. My ND put me on garlic tablets and berberine I take 3 three times a day. I take four rose hips with C twice a day. I also drink black tea with grated ginger in it and strain it before I drink it. I also drink Grapefruit Seed extract in water all day using a straw. Most of my symptoms have subsided. The diet is easy no sugar, flour, no dairy , coffee, no heavy foods no cheese, I usually have rice and vegetables or dal. I eat lots of garlic which I really like. I hope this helps.

Suffered with severe dry red, itchy eyes sometimes they felt inflamed. Went from dr to Dr.. tried everything, but nothing worked. It got worse I began to have itchy tear ducts as well this was making me crazy! One day a tooth was hot/ cold sensitive. Off to the dentist. My dentist told me that there was no cavity, but the xrays showed the root of my tooth was swollen because I had Sinusitits ( could be fungus, bacterial or viral) he suggested Zinc and saline solution. He offered antibiotics, but antibiotics are not for me. I got a Neti pot and made a saline solution mixed in 1-2 drops of Grapefruit seed extract and a couple sprays of Argentyn 23 small particle go deeper into surface areas (99.99 percent pure silver in purifed water) into the neti pot.
Day one : all itching stopped. Day two: my eyes were white. Day three : Eye swelling gone and the white of my eyes are super white, and my eyes appear larger because they are healthy and hydrated. I will continue this process for a month I cannot believe it took so many years to find a cure for this. But I believe we can have fungus, bacteria, parasite or viral infection for years in the sinus cavity that effects our eyes, ears and throat but it goes unnoticed by most doctors, and can cause undue suffering. I hope this helps someone. I also sprayed Argentyn 23 into my eyes before bed and I think that helps too, of course this is something I will do for a few weeks only.

This spring, after huge problems with plane trees, my allergies got far worse, including my eyes which were itching 24/7 and only getting worse. During a trip to the UK I went to a health shop where I got quite a few supplements which I am testing right now, including Euphrasia (Eyebright). I had never heard of it but I have to say that I felt the results right away. I have been taking it for 10 days now, 20 drops in the morning before eating and 20 drops at night before going to bed and till now I am mostly ok. These ones are from Dr. Vogel. As far as the other symptoms are concerned (itching throat, running nose and sneezing a lot especially at night) I am still waiting to see the full results. During the day I am ok, the nights are the worst but if I manage to keep it all under control I will post here what I have been taking.

Kedah, how much salt do you add to the water? 1 tsp in glass of water? and do you just splash a few times into your eye? Does it burn?
Also does it make a difference if water is hot or cold? Thanks.

It took a while to register, but after I started using the ACV, BSM, lemon juice and baking soda to help my stomach problems and psoriasis, I realized that my itchy eyes were no longer itchy. I had just assumed that they were itchy because I'm getting old and worn out and spend entirely too much time "blogging". Whatever the cause, the ACV, etc. seems to be the medicine my eyes also respond to.

Due to my allergies I used to have very itchy eyes which was quite disaggreable. The more I scratched the more they itched. I tried a lot of things but nothing ever seemed to work well. One thing which relieved the itching a bit was powder charcoal inside my eye as an eye liner but now I have found something else, which funny enough is helping quiet well. Although I have tried to find the English name for the product I don't manage. It is a calcium supplement, actually calcium salts. Here in France it is called Sels Calcaires. You take a tiny little bit of the powder morning and evening before the meals and let melt in your mouth. As it is a homeopathic remedy you should wait 15 minutes before eating. I started taking it because of my age (52) thinking that maybe I needed a bit of calcium and to my suprise my eyes stopped itching right away so did my throat. The connection between the calcium and my allergies is not clear to me. Actually I have just had a blood test and the calcium level is actually very good so I didn't even seem to be missing any still..... but what do their levels really mean? I hope that this helps other people with the same problem because although it is not a dangerous condition it does wreck your life! I wonder whether things will stay this good after I finish taking the salts because you are supposed to take them only for 4 to 6 weeks.
