The Quinologist Volume 5, page 752,1882
Baboo Brojendra Nath Banerjee used tincture of iodine, in 1879, in more than 500 cases, and thought that many of them were cured as if by magic. In 1880 he again tried it, but with less success . The cause of this discrepancy was that he had at first overlooked the fact that in every malarial epidemic there are many cases of ephemeral or one-day fever, with a temperature of 105 or 106 degs., a pulse of 120 or 130, quick and labored respiration, intense headache, and even delirium. In these cases there is only one febrile attack, which does not recur. When medicine is given in such cases, the non-recurrence of the attack is ascribed to the medicine and whatever happens to be given appears to cure the fever. Intermittent fever also tends to spontaneous cure on the third, fourth, fifth, and even seventh or eighth day. Old women in the country villages of India are acquainted with this fact, and wait until the third day before they give medicine. His experience since he became acquainted with ephemeral fever and the spontaneous cure of intermittent fever has shown him that while iodine may cure about 55 per cent. of malarial cases, it cannot rival quinine. In many respects it is much inferior to it. There are very few persons who cannot tolerate quinine, whereas iodine disagrees with many. It cannot and never should be given when there is nausea or vomiting and burning of the skin. It is certain to aggravate these symptoms fourfold and make the patient nearly mad. Distressing symptoms are sometimes produced by iodine. It produces flushing of the face, severe vomiting and retching, intense burning of the skin, formication, injection of the conjunctivæ, and coryza. — Indian Med. Gazette.
Colloidal Silver

Curious about the reference to research, I did some additional searching and found this study published in The Indian Practitioner in September 2010), with the very impressive title, “Silver Sol Completely Removes Malaria Parasites from the Blood of Human Subjects Infected With Malaria in an Average of Five Days: a Review of Four Randomized, Multi-Centered, Clinical Studies Performed in Africa”
In this study, researchers demonstrated that Silver Sol, a brand of colloidal silver manufactured by American Biotech Labs, was able to remove the malaria parasite from the blood of 56 human subjects in an average of just five days.
Indeed, at a concentration of only 10 ppm, the optimal dose was determined to be 15 ml twice a day. That's approximately one tablespoon, taken twice daily.
According to the study, the fastest cure rate was found to be two days, and the most days required to achieve full recovery was found to be 10 days.
According to the researchers:
“Human subjects were found to have no malaria parasites in their blood (as determined by clinical microscopy) after an average of five days of Silver Sol treatment.
No patients suffered any adverse side effects, while 100% were cured from Malaria in an average of five days.
It is concluded that Silver Sol can be taken daily to completely eliminate the malaria parasite from the blood of malaria infected subjects in an average of five days.”
Silver Sol, of course, is one of the most popular brands of colloidal silver in America, with an impressive amount of research behind it.
The prestigious Times of India reported on the above study, stating:
“Small silver nano particles infused with water can cure malaria in just three days, said Dr. B.M. Hegde, former vice-chancellor of the Manipal University.
Speaking at a lecture on energy medicine at the Voluntary Health Services on Wednesday, he said his study published in the Indian Practitioner, a medical journal on holistic healthcare, showed how tiny silver particles infused with water cured malaria in African population.”
Congressional Testimony
And in Congressional testimony in 2005, William D. Moeller, president of American Biotech Laboratories has stated of colloidal silver's ability to kill the malaria parasite:
“In 2001, twelve bottles of our 10 ppm ASAP colloidal silver product fell into the hands of a medical Doctor in Rwanda, Dr. Ewabuhihl Ezechias. One day I received a frantic telephone call from Dr. Ezechias' office that was in Rwanda caring for a group of very young children who were in the last stages of malaria about to die.
Dr. Ezechias was looking for instructions on how to administer our ASAP 10 [colloidal silver] product to these desperately ill children. I suggested to the Doctor that he measure out a teaspoon or two to each of the children, two or three times a day and that he repeat the process until the children hopefully showed some improvement.
He responded abruptly that there was no time for measuring anything – the situation was far too grave for “such niceties.” All of these children had temperatures around 105 degrees, had not improved with conventional treatments and were all about to die.
He asked me if he could simply put the water into their bottles. Knowing of its totally non-toxic properties and sensing his desperation, I assured him that it would not hurt the children.
Days later, Dr. Ezechias contacted and told me that he had put the ASAP 10 ppm water directly into the drinking water bottles of 11 of these children. All 11 of the young children who received the ASAP 10 ppm got better. A week later, the 11 left his clinic alive and healthy.”
So there is indeed preliminary clinical evidence that colloidal silver works against the malaria parasite in humans.
More Documentation
According to the book, Biomedical Applications of Metals, a 324 page medical book, silver has demonstrated “significant activity” against malaria. The authors wrote:
“Malaria is one of the most common infectious diseases, and has become a public health problem in many countries. The ineffectiveness of treatment against this disease is the main reason behind its threat.
Current malaria treatment strategies have failed due to drug resistance in Plasmodium falciparum (the parasite that causes malaria) and drug toxicity in humans. Thus, the development of effective anti-malarial drugs is something that is needed.
Silver as discussed in the course of this chapter, presents several applications in the medical field, for the treatment of malaria; the form of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) demonstrated significant activity against the malaria parasite called P. falciparum and its vector female Anopheles mosquito.
AgNPS may be a solution for the control of this disease.”
The authors conclude by stating, “Silver has demonstrated inhibitory activity against malaria which is a dreaded disease especially in tropical and developing countries, where public health is still a problem.”

MMS helped a lot. I started with 1 drop per hour for 8 hrs a day every week. But the major side effect I encountered was that; my skin became as dry as I took the fourth dose.
That was the first, I thought may be was the cause if something else. I tried for the second time. This time I developed skin rash, which I paid 208 $ for treatment....but otherwise my chronic malaria gone...

Curcumin
NEW DELHI: Curcumin, which gives turmeric (haldi) its trademark bright yellow colour, has been found to be highly effective against malaria, with a 100% cure rate in the recently completed animal trials. A study, conducted by scientists from the Indian Institute of Science (IIS), Bangalore, found that curcumin when used in combination with the anti-malarial drug of choice - Artemisinins (ART) - is not only effective in killing the parasite, but is also able to prepare the immune system against recurrence of the disease caused by leftover parasites.

Fansidar
Fansidar (Sulfadoxine and Pyrimethamine), is a old Anti malaria drug used for prevention and cure of malaria. Here more info on the web: http://www.drugs.com/pro/fansidar.html
Before swearing of an individual drug, get information about the drug resistance level of the malaria parasite in the region you are living. For example, in Uganda the first line treatment is now Artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs). I didn't find it in this exciting web site. Sweet annie as the best natural treatment against Malaria. Sweet Annie is not Artemisia Absinthium, but it is Artemisia Annua. A lot of vendors call Artemisia Absinthium "Sweet Annie" which is not true.

Hi, thanks for an interesting web site - I have just contracted shingles and hope your acv and cayenne will help me.
I live in a malaria area and after years of taking chloroquin and paludrin to prevent malaria, I developed an allergy to chloroquin in 1993. from 1993 to 1997 I got malaria 2- 3 times a year, each time suffering more. In 1997 i read an article in a local weekly by a Mr David Simpson (i think) who said he had been taking pawpaw pips as an anti-malarial for 20 years and had not had malaria since, despite being in a bad malaria area of Zambia. I have taken half a dozen pawpaw pips a day since then and have not had malaria again. I think you call pawpaw papaya. I rinse the seeds and freeze them for daily use and also have a tub of sun dried seeds for if i go away on trips.
EC: How interesting, thank you!

My grandfather's recipe for malaria drinks (he had 16 children in all and not one had malaria at the time of the epidemic) was to use yaka (which was seeped in warm or boiling water) where this is a common weed grass, whose scientific name is Imperata cylindrica (L.) P. Beauv. There is other names such as Imerata. arundinacea Cyr. The common name is Cogon grass.
The neem is used as a preventive because it has insecticidal properties by modifying egg laying behaviors of the mosquito, so it may have some antiparasitic properties, although not enough to stop the malaria.
As to your malaria drink of citronella, ginger, and pineapple rinds. The citronella have some insecticidal properties, although the pineapple (bromelain) has the digestive enzyme to kill the malaria, and ginger has some too. However, other digestive enzymes can be found in papaya (papain) also.
Currently wormwood (artemisia, or artemisinin) is being currently used for treating malaria perhaps it is because of its effectiveness in binding the iron, which prevents the malaria from spreading. Hence, a strong green tea and other tannin rich foods may do the same too.
Vanilla or vanillin mixed some eucalyptus or clove oil with sandalwood oil as a base applied to the skin can provide almost equal hours of protection against the mosquitoes. The reason I found out why essential oils don't work as well as a DEET in preventing a mosquito bites was that the essential oils of clove, eucalyptus, orange, and vanilla evaporates and hence, anyone with some perfumery knows that a musk is needed,in which a sandalwood for example can lower the evaporation rate, providing many more hours of protection against the mosquitoes.
However, the best way of protecting against the mosquitoes is to make sure the house is painted white, and the floor is also painted white, or use only white ceramics. Mosquitoes will be reduced by about 90% if the house were well lighted.
I also live in conditions of high rate of mosquitoes, not not anywhere near jungle conditions, but I made a black box (a carton of box with small sections like a beehive, where it sprayed with black paint, to lure the mosquito in. Inside that I can use any insecticide that leaves a chemical residues, such as pyrethrin insecticide or chrysanthemum extract dried to kill them or infect the mosquitoes with pyrethins if they were to come alive and mate. It helps reduce the population, but not anywhere as effective as dumping pounds salt in watery marshes. The salt just kills them.
In open sewer I will pour a glass of diesel fuel or even gasoline, which is done in late evening. The oil are lighter water, which causes a thin film of oils that prevent mosquitoes from laying in eggs or residing in the sewer in early morning hours when they sleep. The fumes just overcomes them.
I remember talking with a fellow chemist from Australia who told me that the water tanks they add a thin film of any oils on the water tank to prevent mosquitoes from laying the eggs. I have done it in my water tank, but it causes the water to go bad rather quickly if the water tank were already infested. However, the easy way I use is to add borax to the water tank used for cleaning purposes will work too, assuming of course borax can be found.
One interesting information is that many people know citronella drives away mosquitoes, but my own test found out mosquitoes hate a lot of essential oils, especially most effective and more pleasant smelling is the eucalyptus oil, clove oil, and vanilla.
