Blastocystis Hominis is found in most IBS patients and most doctors, including mine, ignore it. Time to have another look at this connection, as well as all the other symptoms this bug creates.

I have tried mega dosing with fresh garlic while supplementing with antioxidants and had great relief, but was unable to continue.

MMS has had a similar effect along with mostly raw food diet, but again unable to keep it going.

I'm 63, male 6'5'' weight dropped to 165 from normal 185.

Jerry, Controlling this is often low d3. I take 15 to 20,000 iu a day. I see you live in a sunny state. 10,000 is produced by the body in the sun for 20 minutes according to Ted here on earth clinic, but he also says when ill you need more.

Secondly you really need to get off of gluten all grains if you can. This stuff is rampant since the introduction of gmo grains and from what I have read Hawaii is a state with way too much.

I have found great relief with holy basil 3x a day. It has been helpful. Gut issues included.

Ted's alkalizing drink is very helpful 1 whole lime or 2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar in a glass add 1/2 tsp baking soda let fizz add 1/2 a glass of water drink 2x a day 1/2hour after food.

There are some great remedies on Ted's portion of earth clinic. I would look at his full IBS remedies to get an in depth answer. Just look under ailments when you get to his segment. http://ted.earthclinic.com/ Janet

Janet, thanks for the reply. I have been off of grains for six months or so, although I started back with quinoa and amaranth. I was wondering about the vitamin d and feel I could use more. I only eat organic if possible and local. No gm foods ever, no processed foods, no restaurant foods. Tried bovine colostrum and it made me so bloated I stopped for now, although it did seem to have a positive effect on my skin. I'll check out Ted's remedies.
