Natural Remedies for Rosacea

Borax and Hydrogen Peroxide

I have been struggling with seborrheic dermatitis on my face for 5 years. I have tried everything - drastic diet changes, candida elimination, probiotics, apple cider vinegar, topical steroids, msm sulfur, betaine hydrochloride, pancreatic enzymes, vitamin C, oil of oregano, flax oil, etc etc etc. A year and a half ago, I also developed perioral dermatitis and ocular rosacea. I read about borax and I decided to give it a try, taking 1/8 a tablespoon of borax in a liter of water for 3 days straight. After the third day, things were definitely changing but not noticeably better. I then decided to try to use borax topically. I combined a 1/2 tablespoon of borax with some hydrogen peroxide mixed with 50% water and I put it on my face then rinsed it off after about 30 seconds. It worked! My face feels as smooth as it did when I was a child, and my ocular rosacea is gone too. I didn't even remember what it was like to have normal feeling skin on my face with no rough patches, flaking, or redness. And I can't believe my eyes are back to their normal shape! I am so relieved. I feel and look like myself again for the first time in years. It seems miraculous. I am so so so grateful. What an excellent site. I suppose my problem was demodex skin mites, and the borax/hydrogen peroxide combo has eliminated them. I hope my experience will help someone else.

THANK YOU.

Vitamin C and Lysine

Thanks so much for this information about Lysine and Vitamin C. I have alot of red facial flushing and broken capillaries. The laser treatments have not helped. I'm trying the vitamin C and Lysine now but curious about what form of Vitamin C and Lysine you take. I'm wondering if the Chewable Vitamin C tablets are irritating my skin. Are you taking chewable or a tablet? The Lysine I gound has garlic and other ingredients as well. I may return it and buy a tablet with just Lysine. At 49 I am wondering if the change in hormones is effecting the roscaea? I have also added Evening Primrose oil..

Sometimes I have taken quality tablets of estrogen when I had a flare-up of rosacea. The estrogen greatly reduces the flushing soon after I take it. Cutting coffee out altogether, also has nearly eradicted my rosacea and I before it started. Vitamin C and Lysine work too.

Could someone please let me know how I can purchase Borax in Thailand? Or where I can find it? I have tried remedies from dermatologists for what I have just discovered that I have rosacea. Thank you.

Might be worthwhle at some stage to do a survey on what we think causes rosacea. I would be vitamin d deficient purely on the basis of where we live. You couldn't get enough sun here if you tried. I also have hormone imbalances and have taken antibiotics akin to paxil.

I have taken acv using the water I prepared with the boraxed water and had no adverse reactions. Ted has done a list of the combination that are ok and what not to mix somewhere on this site. Search Ted's Combination List.

Please be sure you get Vitamin D3 (natural) not D2 (synthetic). D2 has a pretty low max dosage and research has made clear it's the D3 that is useful. Fortunately it is really pretty cheap. Research shows 10,000 mg per day semi-long term in adults did no damage (and that disease-states, particularly cancer, are hugely correlated with low D3 status in the body), and some docs I have known have prescribed way more than that (like 5x that) for people in the flux of a disease. IT HAS RECENTLY COME TO MY ATTENTION THRU MY OWN RESEARCH THAT ROSACEA IS CAUSED BY A PARASITE CALLED LEISHMANIA. I TRIED A WELL KNOWN PARASITE TREATMENT USING BLACK WALNUT HULL TINCTURE, WORMWOOD AND CLOVES AND HAVE HAD SOME SUCCESS AND IMPROVEMENT WITH REDNESS AND INFLAMMATION.

Roseacea caused by Lieshmania?!!! I don't think so...it might be bad - but it's not THAT bad! Http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leishmanias
