Fish Oil

In early June of 2022, I was having a conversation with a friend who I was already working with to try and resolve hyperpigmentation issues of her skin. Progress was slow and she was asking about different supplements that might be helpful. She mentioned that she was taking fish oil (FO) and it didn't seem to be too helpful, even though she had been taking it for years.

I asked her how many milligrams of FO she was taking. She mentioned that she was taking a 1000 milligrams a day of combined DHA/EPA. I mentioned that that might not be the optimal dose for her based on effective dosages used in studies of FO in humans and suggested she consider upping her dose to study levels of EPA/DHA of 3 to 4 grams per day in order to optimize the benefit to her skin and heart. This would be 3 to 4 times the amount she was already taking. It is the total amount of EPA/DHA in a given FO soft gel that is important, not the total amount of different oils. So even though a FO soft gel may say 1200 mg, the actual EPA/DHA level may only be half that amount. It is important to read the label carefully to know what you are really getting.

Obviously the heart benefit will not be readily apparent other than through testing, but I told her that any additional benefit to her skin should be readily apparent within two months or so. I also reminded her that FO at therapeutic dosing such as she was now taking can absolutely have blood thinning effects and as such she should notify her doctor and have him/her add that information to her medical records for safety. I further told her that the high dose FO, because of its anti inflammatory effects should be additionally beneficial to her anti hyperpigmentation regimen as localized inflammation is a contributing factor to skin hyperpigmentation.

This past week, my friend texted me to update me on how she was doing as it was approaching the 2 month mark at her new increased FO dosing level. She said the following, it appears to be additive to her anti hyperpigmentation regimen as she could see increased fading of dark spots which she said had previously slowed to a crawl and she felt that if the current rate of lightening continued she might be "clear" in 3 months or so. She further said that the increased FO dosing schedule had eliminated "all of her dry skin" issues which she said had been a major problem for her for years. She went on to say that "stretch marks, keratosis and scars" that she has had for years had either faded, significantly diminished or both.

Overall she was very happy and looking forward to continued improvements and she said the improvements are helping her to diligently stick to her current regimen with no slacking. I told her that was good that she is applying her regimen consistently because that is needed in order to obtain the results she is getting and wants.

She told me she would update me later and when she does I will update this thread to update on her progress.

I know this is not of very much importance to many people, but it does offer a significant boost to her self esteem which, imo, is very important in trying to improve your overall quality of life, plus the added health benefit that the therapeutic FO dose is having to her heart is great, especially as we age! It is important to highlight the benefits of FO at useful dosing levels as many studies spotlight a multitude of health effects associated with sufficient intake of EPA/DHA, even for the brain!

Serrapeptase and Nattokinase

Scar Removal - Serrapeptase and Nattokinase. They degrade the protein fibrin which is the prime reason for scars. Even keloid scars. Additionally, they're both incredible for our cardiovascular systems. Serrapeptase can break the fibrin, which is accountable for clotting and forming the plaque. So it helps to remove diseased organic matter and blood clots. Nattokinase, on the other hand, keeps the cardiovascular system clean. It dissolves the excess amount of fibrin in the blood and reduces the risk of severe clotting. Nattokinase reduces the amount of LDL (low-density lipids) cholesterol and enhances the amount of HDL (high-density fat) cholesterol. Nattokinase helps lower blood pressure, maintains the viscosity of blood, and also improves blood flow circulation. I love them both!

*Note that Serrapeptase is a proteolytic enzyme and MUST be taken on an empty stomach or it is useless, as it will go after any food instead of its intended target. Take 1 hr before food and 2 hrs after food. Bedtime works best for most. ♥

Serrapeptase

I am absolutely convinced a digestive enzyme called serrapeptase is more than amazing for scar tissue.

In 2010, I was researching what I could to eliminate scar tissue due to having a double nerve surgery for the Guyon Canal (wrist) and the ulnar nerve moved to inside elbow. I had 2 IME Drs tell me if scar tissue in Guyon canal grew back it could eventually cause loss of use of my dominant hand (I have nerve damage to little finger and ring finger). I accidentally ran across Serrapeptase, which was well known and used in England and Europe; discovered by a famous German heart doctor that he would use on patients requiring bypass surgery. He would give them several months of Serrapeptase and retest the blockages and discovered this enzyme eats plaque in the arteries. He found he did not have to do the bypass surgeries. He found it ate scar tissue as well as lessened COPD to the point that folks could give up their oxygen tanks. serrapeptase.org and serrapeptase.info were the websites from across the pond I educated myself with. Serrapeptase is prescription only across the pond.

My story is I began taking it immediately finding it in a health food store. They sold very little because folks did not know about it in US, so was inexpensive.

I had had my appendix removed at age 3 resulting in a raised keloid (sp) scar as I grew. When I was 63, I discovered I no longer had the raised scar….it was a thin white line. I checked every scar I had and they all faded.

I had read on one of those two websites, that if the scar tissue is no longer there - the scar tissue is no longer pressing against nerves, resulting in lessened pain.

I recently listened to a podcast in which an 83 year old researcher was finding serrapeptase was eating the plagues in his beloved wife's brain due to Alzheimer's.

I take it every day and have since 2010. it works like Rid X in your home sewer system. It eats the garbage in our body and it is made from a protein in the stomach of the silkworm. The silkworm hibernates in a hardened cocoon and when it leaves it squirts the protein at this hardened shell to fly out from my understanding.

There is a very strong possibility it will heal the scars in your trachea of the scars.

Best wishes this will work for you. I so trust in it that I have not really read the latest information on serrapeptase….only that which I heard about the brain plaques.

Me too. Implants. Scar tissue for years. I simply put castor oil on my breasts every night and within a month saw improvement. In a few months, the scar tissue was gone. Completely. What a relief. I did not do the oil pack. Just recently bought the flannel but have not yet done that. Seems unnecessary at this point. Now using castor oil as a moisturizer everywhere.

Dear Karrie,

I have read about comfrey healing even old scars. I use it all the time myself, but have never been diligent enough to try to get rid of old scars. It is a pretty simple and inexpensive thing to try. It promotes cell regeneration. At the least, it should cause no harm to try it.

Karrie,

Keloids are known to have a reduced number of vitamin d receptors (VDRs) and people with keloids often have a relatively low level of 25 OH d. In your case, you are closer to the lower end of the range than the upper end, so you have plenty of room to push it upward with your doctors guidance. Some studies have shown that raising the 25 OH d level can increase VDRs. When you are actively trying to treat something it can be useful to have your serum level closer to the upper end of the range.

Karrie, Consider having your doctor help you get your serum 25 OH d level closer to the upper end of the reference range by supplementing with vitamin D-3. The reference range for D-3 is 30 ~ 100 ng/ml. Art

Hello all,

A few years ago I got into an accident that completely devastated me. I've been doing a lot better mentally lately except this 2.5 inch scar on my face won't budge no matter what I try. I have tried every remedy on this site along with many others with no improvement including: castor oil packs, cocoa butter, vitamin E, coconut oil, banana peels, egg whites, honey, etc.

The scar looks like a knife attack running diagonally down my forehead between my brows and to the mid nose area. If I had money for plastic surgery to get a scar revision I'd probably try that route again. I did get a dermabrasion procedure on the scar a couple years ago that didn't help. Any and all advice would be appreciated. I never posted online about this before, but I noticed this is a very kind, caring community so felt comfortable posting here. Thank you. Karrie

Susan, ORH here, the irony of ClO2 is that most bleach pulp mills have a generator that produces up to 30 tons of ClO2 per day. One mill could take care of most of the health ails of the world. I breathed it for many years and too much will kill you, so when we had a leak or a strong residual, we had to don a gas mask. I wish I still had mill contacts that could sneak me a cold jar. We had to chill our water to 40 degrees to keep it stable. It can be explosive. All tanks and towers had explosion lids. So much for the CLO2 lesson.

Hi, I read your initial post from 2016 and I was wondering if your husband is still breathing fine. I have idiopathic tracheal stenosis. I have already had 4 dilations (in the course of 5 years) and I am thinking about having a tracheal reconstruction but I am willing to try everything natural before undergoing such procedure. Thanks you for your post!

Thank you so much for this comment. My fiance is going through the same thing. He was intubated for only 10 days but still got tracheal stenosis. He has had two different surgeries and so far both times its came back. I'm going out to buy castor oil tonight. Does it matter what kind? Hoping and praying this works. And I'm sorry you both had to go through this. Watching them not being able to breath on a regular basis is so tough. Thank you for giving me hope!

Internal scar tissue

For three years my husband has had to have a track or t-tube because of a shelf of scar tissue in his throat caused accidentally in hospital saving life from heart attack. We tried stabilized aloe, manuka honey, serrapeptise, nannapeptise, and all the blood tests to make sure his levels were good( 9 vile of blood and book of results). We backed off of everything except aloe, plant based vitamins, minerals etc. and as much organic food as possible

but then friend asked us to test a new product on our pasture and as I studied I told husband people were drinking it. Since it was plant based (liquid trees) called Fulvic and it was 28-30 which was a big thing. Anyway after last surgery a week ago the surgeon came out to say the shelf had dissolved and wondered what we did different. Looks like about to get it out. He is turning 70 soon.

Karen-I know your post is from 2009, did you get your throats scar tissue resolved? Serrapeptase will definitely help you with pain, inflammation, and scar tissue, take 120,000 spu to 240,000 spu.I took one with 240,00 spu and it was the only thing that saved me from the horrible strangling in my throat from spine surgery while fibroblasts were setting up shop making scar tissue, was just awful.

If you are still having issues, they do an inflatable balloon ENT doctors insert in your throat while you are knocked out. Sometimes a CO2 laser is used but if you make a lot of scar tissue as I do, arm yourself with every remedy on internet and stock up on the ones that interest you, eat lots of apple cider vinegar, bromelain, enzymes, by time we are 30, we do not make enzymes including digestion kind so you MUST take digestion enzymes and other enzymes like the serrapeptase. I want to go all natural on almost everything else but I think the scar tissue in the throat, no time to waste so you can breath and swallow! I feel like I am grasping for air even though blood oxygen is 94, most horrible thing I have ever gone thru. The darker your olive skin is, the more scar tissue you make compared to a blonde light skinned person. Allyson

My husband had tracheal stenosis after having a tracheotomy in the ICU for 6 weeks after colon cancer surgery complications, which means the build up of scar tissue in his airway. His tracheal stenosis got so bad that he had to have outpatient surgery 7 times. Like clockwork, 6 weeks after each surgery the scar tissue would inevitably return to such a point that my husband couldn't breathe, and he'd be back into another surgery. At one point he went into respiratory distress his airway was so closed. After the last surgery the doctor suggested we give him a permanent tracheotomy.

My husband is very active with hiking and other exercise, was in his early 40's at this point, and our child was 2, so this was absolutely out of the question. I looked up scar tissue remedies on Earth Clinic and found that applying Castor Oil to external scars had helped some people.

So my husband began rubbing a thick layer of cold pressed Castor Oil on his neck where his tracheotomy had been, and where the tracheal stenosis has been recurring. He did this in the morning and at night, tucking a washcloth into his shirt to keep the greasy oil off of his clothes. Miraculously, within 24 hours David's breathing started easing as if the scar tissue were disappearing. And within a couple of days his airway seemed completely open again. Since he started doing this, my husband has not had another surgery for tracheal stenosis. This is an incredible cure that works! My husband is an especially tough customer because his neck had been radiated during his teenage years due to Hodgkin's Lymphoma so he also had scar tissue from that.

David continued his twice/day castor oil treatment for a couple of years. The scar tissue/tracheal stenosis never returned. I wish we had tried this before suffering through 7 surgeries, but better late than never! And better than a permanent tracheotomy! I hope this will help some other people recover easily from their tracheotomies. It is an incredibly easy cure.

Cocoa Butter for Scars

Vitamin E and/or cocoa butter to heal scars. Cocoa butter works great. Can get a Stick at the drugstore or look for a stick on Internet. Make sure it's pure cocoa butter and not cream that's mixed with other stuff. When I was a child back in the late 1950's I got a bad case of chicken pox and had pox marks/scars all over my face. Doc said to use cocoa butter. My whole face cleared up except for one tiny pox mark I still have. All others gone. Made my face real nice.

Acne scars are more like "darning" across a hole than mending and stitching edges together. Much like severe burns - the skin is just gone, either picked off by the individual or eaten away by the infection. I don't actually have any to experiment on but I've been thinking about Neosporin which seems to have the quality of "regrowing" skin and wonder if massaging that into an acne scar might not only break up the collagen, but also finish off the bacteria and encourage the edges of the hole to spawn new growth to close the gap...I don't know. It's just something I've been thinking about.

Oil Massage
Posted by Cindy (Illinois, Usa) on 08/13/2016 433 posts

Scars are not Evil

Scar tissue is like a mend that is lovingly applied to a favorite sweater. Mending involves additional materials and "stitching" that is different than the weave of the fabric to bind the edges to one another. In other words, it serves a purpose. To reduce a scar only requires the massage associated with the various oils and other substances that are used. Generally, unless one is applying a substance, one isn't rubbing a scar which makes just about anything you are rubbing onto your skin appear to help flatten scar tissue because it's actually the rubbing that is breaking it down. The problem is that breaking up scar tissue also weakens the mend.

The thickness of scar tissue can also create functional problems, some of which can be remedied by "moving" the scar which involves grafting to provide a more natural thickness at a specific, problematic site but which creates scars around the graft. The benefit is that it can be designed to move the scar tissue to areas where the additional thickness doesn't cause any problems.

Scars are GOOD things. If you don't like how they look, give them some love. Touch them - give them some hugs and a little massage with your very best oil. They deserve it.

I rubbed castor oil on my face and put a heating pad on face, but then I found an easier way I would rub castor oil, mixed with dmso on my nose and sinus area I would get use a dry cotton washcloth folded over a few times and place if over my eyes then lay under a infrared light lamp and let the area heat up a little just enough to know it is penetrating. I also ended up doing a 30 day juice fast under the direction of very smart naturopathic doctor This was miraculous for my healing.

I had a bout with shingles for 3 months and nothing worked. Took lysine and stayed away from any foods high in arginine still no help. Forget what the doctors give you, that only puts your immune system in the dumpster. So I started getting my ph up with baking soda and a little molasses. Then baking soda 2 tsp and 6oz of distiller water three times a day. Then hit the vitamin c heavy. 500 mg every hour. Chewables are easy. Or 1000 mg every 2 hours and 4000 mg bed time if you can sleep. If you get ph test strips you can check your ph level. Disease, cancer, mites, parasites and bacteria do not live in a high ph body. They will slowly fade away. You have to be persistent. I also take magnesium 400 mg twice a day a good multivitamin with twice a day and don't forget the apple cider pills 500mg 2 pills three times a day.

I had to have 2 nose surgeries. Resulted in scar tissue and sinus infections. The ENT wanted to do surgery to remove the scar tissue. A year earlier I had my appendix removed and that area began to hurt it was scar tissue. The doctor said they could do ultrasound to dissolve it

I wanted a natural approach, I did castor oil pack on nose, with a heating pad and did the same on my abdomen, 2x a day for an hour. I took daily serrapeptase, 2 twice a day on an empty stomach . I read 3 books on proper juice fasting which included, couple colonics and coffee enemas. Apparently between the 8-15 day on a juice fast the body begins to dissolve scar tissue. If you're thin only 10 days of juice fasting is recommended. Of course talk to naturopathic doctor before starting.

Sounds kind of odd and gross, but if you use your pee (urine) on wounds that have scabbed over, it will eventually fade until you can't see that you ever had a wound in the first place! In 2013, I gashed my forehead pretty good with a stick. It was about an inch long and looked like a Nike symbol. A friend of mine told me to pee on the tip of my finger and put it on the scab every morning (fresh pee in the morning is the best). I did this and now, you can't even see that there was ever a scar. Pretty amazing!

Helena: Magnet therapy can be very useful for any issues which involve healing because Magnets reduce the pathogens, acid and inflammation at the wound site. This pathogen, acid, and inflammation prevent healing or normal cell regeneration with the resulting presence of scar tissue.

Other therapy may also be needed. The herb Kotu Kola is very much recommended in fibrosis condition. Nattozimes or Serrazymes eat scar tissue directly. Combining these therapies should produce some positive results, as opposed to only one.

Cauliflower Ear Remedies
Posted by Caitlin (Austin) on 04/24/2014

This IS serious and could lead to problems if not treated by your doctor! An antibiotic treatment sounds ideal. I would also suggest that you wrap his ear in either a bandage soaked in witch hazel or ACV to decrease the swelling. I say witch hazel because of this story: After my mom had her last baby, a rather large one of many children, she was so torn and swollen that she could not move for the pain. They left her moaning in a room by herself. Her mom, my beloved grandmother, a healer and midwife from the 1920's visited her that morning of the birth. She saw the situation, and immediately went to the pharmacy for witch hazel and a large cotton pad. She placed the pad, soaked with dickinson witch hazel, upon my mother'ss nether region. My mother said she could actually feel the witch hazel "drawing" the pain away and by that very evening, she was walking around. From that day onward, my mother is never without that witch hazel in her bathroom. My hubby has wrapped a paper towel soaked in ACV around a large, swollen gouty foot and ankle. It reduced the swelling within an hour, but, took a couple of days at that particular stage of swelling to go down completely. I would also suggest ingesting it and putting diluted ACV and water inside the ear every few hours. When the swelling goes down, I would rub coconut oil (VCO) in and around his ear and if he is not allergic to it, give him a teaspoon morning and night to help fight the infection. I know that you want to treat this naturally, but, an antibiotic could only help as well. Good luck to you and your son! Caitlin

Does anyone know of a treatment using DMSO to soften or dissolve scars inside the eye?

Also, is there anything that will kill the shingles virus as I still get outbreaks on my face? I have tried olive leaf extract, but that has not worked. Thanks. Gregor

For Bug relief try a blend of the following essential oils:

Organic Lemongrass, Organic Lemon, Organic Peppermint, Organic Cedarwood, Organic Galbanum, Organic Citronella, Organic Eucalyptus-Lemon

Create a mixture equal parts each.

You can put it into an organic carrier oil (vegetable oil base) such as sesame, almond oil, olive oil, etc. (use one with the least back note smell) and rub it directly into your skin. Roughly 12 drops of your essential oil blend to 1 carrier oil.

You can also put it into a spray bottle and make a body spray using 10 drops of your essential oil blend per 5 ounces of water or a room spray using 20 drops of your essential oil blend per 5 ounces of water.

You can always add more or less drops of your essential oil blend to make a different concentration.

Wore this blend on a camping trip where we were literally in a swarm of mosquitoes the whole time and didn't get ONE bite! My boyfriend is usually eaten alive with 1 mosquito in the room!

Good Luck! :D

To Ellis -

Thank you for the info! & your right, it is not good to keep a fresh tattoo covered in plastic wrap daily. However, it IS a good idea to have the tattoo artist cover it with the wrap immediately after application UNTIL YOU GET HOME and can properly clean, moisturize & dress it. This keeps out immediate infection and sun exposure.

We have found that using a bee wax based petroleum alternative like waxalene really helps our tattoos heal quickly and the brightest they can be. There is rosemary oil in it which helps cut infection.

Also - AMAZING for scars is Rosehip Seed Oil. I have found a regiment of coconut oil + raw honey on this burn scar I have on my eyelid then followed with rosehip seed oil has really been helping.

Caution using the Rosehip seed oil on tattoos though, my boyfriend just had a bad reaction to a yellow dye and was not sure if he caused it himself by putting the rosehip seed oil on the tat (probably not but you never know).

Good Luck!
