Snoring Remedy - Avoid Sugar My husband has snored for years. A few months ago he decided to cut way back on sugar. After a while I realized he wasn't snoring anymore! Occasionally I realize that he is snoring and can always trace it back to sugar. ~Mama to Many~

I read someone saying he is using hydrogen peroxide in a nasal spray bottle for snoring. I wanted to know how many drops of 35% food hydrogen peroxide in 30 ML empty nasal spray bottle. Thanks

Hi, could you please share the quantity of ACV your husband takes every night. Does he take it at night before going to bed? Thanking you in advance for your answer. Evgeniya

I can't believe it. I read that drinking 1 Tbl of ACV stops snoring. My husband is slightly overweight and snores LOUD! I figured it was a weight issue. I would elbow him or make him sleep on his side but that didn't really help. So as an experiment, I gave him 1Tbl of ACV with juice before bed time. Silence!!
I literally had a hard time sleeping all night the first night because I kept waking up in awe that he WASN'T snoring! He even wakes up more energized because of better quality sleep.
We're on day 3 and same! This is my first post because I had to evangelize!!

Switch to organic raw unfiltered ACV with the Mother and it will do so much more for your health than just snoring. It will help with allergies, your body's detoxification processes, digestive and immune system just to name a few.

I am always looking for answers, anyway, Eric Berg was teaching some cortisol stuff on you tube and he said it can cause the flap that causes snoring to be a problem. That explains why my tonsils and adnoids gone as a child and I still can snore worse than a bear. Just for fun of course : )
I have actually woken up because my snoring was so loud. DHEA at night is supposed to lessen cortisol. I take 5 mg every few days

I'm afraid that snoring doesn't require an open mouth. I have my mouth shut and tongue up in the roof of my mouth and snore like a train sometimes. It seems to be associated with inflammation for me, so I'm going to try the H2O2 method. Sounds promising.

After hitting menopause, I began snoring, which is something the doctors seem to expect. I had a turbinate reduction a few years ago, after trying several different medications. That helped for a while. Then, it started again. I was tested for allergies, but there was nothing significant. I covered my mattress and pillows with high-end protectors in case it was dust mites I was inhaling. I was still snoring. I researched several different ways to drink ACV, which stopped my snoring, but I really didn't like the strong flavor. In fact, I eventually stopped drinking ACV altogether. As a result, I have been snoring for the past few weeks (again! ) so when a co-worker went on and on about how great Switchel tasted, I decided to make some and, lo and behold, it DOES taste wonderful! I drank some yesterday morning and last night and...voila! No snoring last night, much to my husband's joy! I love this stuff so much, I'll be drinking it morning and night!
The recipe calls for 1/3 cup of ACV (always with the mother), 1/2 fresh lemon, 4 TB of honey or Agave (I used stevia), 2 TB finely grated fresh ginger, 1 cup of spring water and 1 cup of lemon-flavored seltzer water.
Put it in a lidded quart jar and leave it overnight. To drink, just pour 1/3-1/2 cup of mixture in a 10-oz glass and add enough lemon-flavored seltzer water to top off the glass. It is absolutely awesome! I have been substituting flavored seltzer water for soft drinks for a while now and I'll be trying other flavors than lemon in my Switchel.
Just make sure the seltzer water is carbonated spring water with natural flavors, nothing artificial added. Bon appetite and bon voyage to snoring!

My husband has a legendary reputation for his snoring. We have been taking a daily dose of ACV for a few months now. His snores have been reduced to quiet breathing from the Earth-shattering events that used to drive me to the couch. Yeah! for ACV.

Yay. After reading about Inclined Bed Therapy, my husband and I raised the top (head) of our bed by six inches last week as we'd heard there were multiple health benefits with doing this. We bought new, taller bed legs but others have used bricks, books and planks of wood. So I can report back after 10 days:
- My husband's loud snoring has greatly improved (now a gentle murmur).

Mom is 87, snored like a buzz saw all our lives, shook the farthest window glass in our home. Since living in senior care, she has taken to asking I buy Linden Tea for her. It is regularly at dollar stores, drug stores, any store really, with all the other tea bags. Couldn't believe, as she briefly slept to nap during my last longer visit, no snoring. None. On the teabag box below the words Linden Tea are in small words Eucalyptus Tea. Wow. Family tree is shocked!

It apparently works for some but not here. I have tried it for 2 years now and after putting the bed back on level it seemed like it was still raised 6". We have not noticed any difference in the way we sleep or feel after trying it, so I would have to give it a nay.

Inclined Bed Therapy discovered in 2006 is incredible. Stops snoring the very first night because of the way blood is circulated, separating toxins, sugar, and salt from water, keeps you from having to get up and use the bathroom multiple times, it's also a natural traction for your back, working for us great so far. Really did stop snoring for both of us the very first night with only a 4" incline at the head of the bed, using wooden blocks from the hardware store. Also helps prevent stuffy nose and respiratory issues due to pproviding more moisture to clean the lungs during the night. I'm amazed I had to really dig to find this information and happy I had open mind enough to try it. Life changing.

This does work. It keeps the jaw up. Wise to cut small hole in tape to allow air flow (while tape still holding jaw up). Best and cheapest solution to tongue caused snoring!

To relieve snoring - Try not to have dairy before bed (about 5 hours or so) Dairy makes mucus and mucus can cause snoring.

I have been suffering from swollen sinuses (sinusitis) for the past few months and tried breathing some steaming water with eucalyptus oil dropped in it and then putting some over my eyebrows to help me sleep better. I certainly slept through the night, but my snoring was so bad that my girlfriend had to leave the room and sleep on the couch. It could just be me, but the eucalyptus oil didn't make my snoring any better.

I used bed risers to elevate the head of the bed six inches. I am still not used to the feeling of having the bed elevated and it feels weird like I am going to slide off the bed. I tried this to alleviate snoring and possibly sleep apnea. Hopefully, I will get used to the elevated bed because it seems to work for other people. I will try this for a couple weeks and then try going flat again and see if there is much of a difference.

I always find it interesting how everyone is always trying to treat the symptoms of what is causing snoring instead of what is causing it. I firmly believe that if a person's body is not getting enough or absorbing enough oxygen (oxygen deficient)when they are awake (due to their lifestyle/diet), they will snore. Their bodies become oxygen deficient due to a variety of reasons. When we sleep, our body is doing all kinds of stuff to try to get us balanced again. If you are oxygen deficient, your body is working very hard to get in all the oxygen it can the only way it can while you are asleep... Through breathing. So your brain is sending a message for you (while you are asleep) to breath in really hard to take in as much air as possible. Keep in mind all of your muscles are in the relaxed state, including those in your throat. When you are awake you can take in deep deep breathes without snoring. You can't do this while you are asleep and not snore! Try this exercise... Relax all the muscles in your throat (like how they are when you are asleep)and breath in really hard (nose or mouth). You made a snoring sound right? See what I am saying now?
If you are snoring, one of the main reasons (aside from any physical defects in your throat/nasal), I believe it may be because you are oxygen deficient probably due to number of reasons. These reasons especially include diet. A lot of foods (like those containing a lot of processed flour, sugar, etc... ) deplete the body's oxygen stores as the body is required to use more oxygen dealing with those types of foods than what they bring in. A diet that is high in oxygen rich foods will help significantly to reduce snoring. Another factor we become oxygen deficient is not taking in enough oxygen due to shallow breathing. Our breathing needs to be deeper throughout the day so we are taking in more oxygen. For whatever reason, stress also seems to contribute to making our bodies oxygen deficient. Physical activity is a must not only as a stress reducer, but for other obvious health reasons. In addition to the aforementioned, doing the H2O2 therapy (many examples here on EC), may also help your bodies become more rich in oxygen and in turn reduce or cure your snoring. Try these ideas out.... I don't snore anymore and my wife no longer pushes me while I'm asleep!!!!
Mangosteen Juice

In response to Rob from Manhattan: I have to agree that mangosteen juice is expensive, although the low dosage required for effectiveness helps to stretch the dollars a bit. You are 100% correct about the marketing schemes that exist, many companies have exaggerated claims about their brands (that they sell for $40 per 32 oz). I have had success with whatever brands I have found on clearance in local big box stores. These are often not a health nut's first choice for shopping needs, and I have had great luck at finding the juice 50% off (around $12 a bottle). The bottle lasts a couple of weeks, and I consider the price to be well worth my sleep! It is still more affordable than a prescription, and has other positive health benefits as well with the high level of antioxidants and xanthones.

I also have experimented with Mangosteen, & have noticed some positive results with inflammation. However it is ridiculously expensive. I would encourage you to buy it from a local health store & NOT from some multi-level marketing scheme. There are a lot of exaggerated claims and untrustworthy internet vendors making it difficult to separate truth from fact.

I would like to tell everyone about a remedy not listed on this site...Mangosteen juice! I bought the juice for its super-antioxidant properties, but I found a very happy unknown (to me) cure. My boyfriend and daughter snore terribly, and the first night we all tried the juice, they both stopped snoring. Not only that, but they both breathed through their noses all night! All it takes is 1/3 cup of juice 2 hours before bedtime. The juice has strong anti-inflammatory properties which may be what stops the snoring.
Throat Spray, Acupressure

Hey
I'm an acupuncturist studying to be a naturopthy.
My slim husband is pretty robust and not very interested in health. He's slim and fit, eats crap, drinks a fair amount and when he started smoking again he started snoring heavily waking me about 9 times a night where i'd have to push him onto his side.
So he's not good at sitting still for the acupuncture, so I did three things. Bought one of those spray's full of essential oils (from boots) for your throat. Massaged the pads of his thumbs (thenar eminance) a few mins each, very basic up and down rubs anyone can do.
And lastly made my own cheapie acupuressure thing. In boots the ring is 50 bucks or something crazy
Just get any bandage, put a few grains of rice on it and stick it at the base of the inner baby finger (just above where it joins the finger). that's it.
No snoring. Tedious a little though as somehow I have to do the little hand rub thing every night and not him. Even thought it's simple. Bah
But I shouldn't complain he's fab in every other way! :)
Good luck!

Please make sure you can exhale through the nose before you try this. Sounds like it would work for anyone who can easily exhale through the nose, but many people with snoring can't do that.

★★★☆☆WORKED TEMPORARILY
I've found this great website when searching for ways to removed moles from my face naturally and stumbled on the benefits of ACV, so I've been taking 2 table spoon in 8oz of water twice a day. I can't belive the immidiate impact ACV has on me. After taking the first cup I feel much more energetic, and after a week the skins on my face begin to clear-up. I've also found on here that ACV will also cure snoring so, after one week of taking ACV, I've asked my wife check to see if my snoring has improve. Not to my surprise, she said that my snoring has reduced dramatically. Well, now 4 weeks later my snoring has came back. What is wrong? Should I increase my dosage and frequency to 3 table spoon in 8oz of water and 3 times a day?
Thank you Earth Clinic

I used a SnoreMeds snoring mouthpiece to treat my snoring and sleep apnea symptoms. It moved my lower jaw forward while sleeping and therefore the back of my tongue and other soft tissues no longer blocks my airway and I am able to sleep peacefully and wake up feeling refreshed. You should be treated by a doctor if you think you have sleep apnea.

Hello, after suffering the last few months with constant congestion both in my sinus's and my upper chest I checked myself into a hospital. After being poked and monitored for 3 days they discharged me after filling me with the same off the shelf Mucinex you can buy yourself. Of course after a day I started feeling bad again as the drug wore off. Out of desperation I turned to the Internet as I felt I was suffocating from the congestion. I found this website with all the testimonials on the wonders of using ACV. I went to the local market during lunch and bought a bottle of Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar...for $3 I'd take a chance...why not? That evening (four days ago) I started taking a tablespoon of ACV in a coffee mug I filled with water. In an hour my sinus's started feeling clearer. I had forgotten I could breath through my left nostril. I started drinking my "tea" in the morning and evening. Well, now its been 4 days and my chest is starting to clear also. Just yesterday I was still having the chest constrictions but today I feel great. I'm anxious to try the natural unfiltered ACV when and where I can find it. Also interested in adding local hometown honey if I can find it as I have read about the benefits here also. Now, I need to say that I'm an old crouch, 57 years old, and set in my ways. But I have to admit to you all that this has helped me. No voodoo magic stuff for me. Try it. I did and I'm happy. And the wife is happy too! She says I haven't snored in the three nights I've tried this. Of course I didn't think I ever snored!!
