Alpha Lipoic Acid
Posted by Joleneal (Phenix City, Al) on 06/06/2012
★☆☆☆☆

I take ALA for my numbness due to my diabetes. I take 300 mg a day. Unfortunately, it is sporadic as I sometimes blow off my supplements on the weekend. It hasn't touched my tinnitus yet - but it just started a month ago and I have not been consistent in my supplement intake.

However, the 1st ENT I went to said it was a nerve issue, and ALA is support for nerves. So, I'm going to double my dose and see what happens.

Alpha Lipoic Acid

Alpha Lipoic Acid pills for Tinnitus: I am so excited about my recent cure for my more than 10-years of hearing what souds like a steam radiator valve whistle in both ears almost continuously, with some days better than others, but never complete relief, until this week, after adding 200 milligrams of Alpha-lipoic acid to my daily intake of vitamins, minerals and other supplements about 3 to 4 weeks ago.

While I could be wrong, its certainly worth trying if you have been suffering for any period of time with tinnitus.

Iodine

NAY!! I put a drop or two of very diluted lugol's in my ear and a moment later it started to HURT!! I stuck it out hoping it was doing something positive, but the pain got stronger and I washed out my ear with warm water. It didn't help. I then put a piece of cotton with a drop of olive oil on it in my ear and lay down with the painful ear on the pillow. It took a while but the pain subsided. So I do NOT recommend this treatment. And my tinnitus is the same.

I have had Tinnitus for years Man I hate it has driven me crazy. I found a web page that said it was caused by a fungus in the ear. I was trying to treat it internally with little success. This girl said to try iodine diluted with pure water. I had some kelp iodine and tried it. Man what a relief it killed the noise by 90% in 24 hours with no hearing loss. So one drop of kelp iodine in a tea spoon of pure water. Use an eyedropper in the ear canal. Fastone

Multiple Remedies

I use a spray of 100% DMSO into the ear followed by a 1% cortisone cream swab. I take magnesium, B vitamins, Bioflavonoids, curcumin and a combination vitamin from "tru nature vitamins" which has gingko biloba and vinpocetine. The most important addtion is also pregenolone a steroid precursor that not only is the material form which other hormones are made but is well known to help heal the brain and has been tested in the past to improve brain function and reduce inflammation. 50-150 mgs per day available over the counter in the USA. My tinnitus was caused by a serious flu virus complicated by a swim and a sauna which allowed the flu to invade the ear ducts. The tinnitus that resulted was severe. Now five weeks later one ear is silent and the other is 75% improved. I hope this helps someone.

Re-Alignment
Posted by James (Colorado Springs, Co/usa) on 02/15/2012

I had an intuition and I wanted to help you I wanted to give you the answer why your hearing is occluded. If you think of your ear as an antenna and that it also has a speaker which is direct wired to your brain. You would probably agree that if it is to receive properly it must be tuned and adjusted. Your ear is receiving the signal because these is a misalignment in your neck and the cartilage of your earlobe.

I know this sounds odd but you can rid yourself of it with a few simple things. In reality they are a series of stretches and contractions. If you perform each one for 5 minutes or so a day it will go away quickly. After each crack do it a few more movements with tension on to realign the facet joint. In fact repeat that after each crack just cause you found it does mean you aligned it.

1. Remember when you stood at attention in the army? They made you tuck your chin in.. Do this as tight as you can until you hear a crack in the ear or the jaw with the ringing.

2. Do shoulder shrugs until you hear your mid neck crack.

3. Firmly grasp the earlobe at the front and gently pull until you hear the crack..... Gently continue.

4. There are 5 prive points around the earlobe which are available for adjustment and alignment.

5. Turn your chin to the side and try to touch your chin stretch unit you hear the crack

6. Do both sides for the sake of spinal alignment for the flow of kundalini. After all the sound is misaligned energy reverberating in your ear drum! Lean your neck back a much as you can tolerate. The pull of the chin by smiling until you hear the crack.....

7. You can manipulate the shoulders to address your headaches mostly the right one.

8. Lye on your back... Lift your stiff legs up together like you are trying to touch your forehead but again you arrive at the range of motion limit which you will know by the crack the stretch a bit more.

9. Squeeze 3 to 5 drops of juice from a white onion into the ear cannel let it rest 10 to 15 minutes in the canal.

10. Take a soft piece of cotton and with a cork screw motion work it into the ear cannel. After you have drained the canal. As you twist it out there will be a small amount of black particles.... Your sign that you have clear the film of sludge.... Repeat in your spare time and it will dissipate in a short period of time. If you want to be lazy you need to find an osteopath he stretches the muscle which aligns the joint (maybe therapeutic massage with gentle head manipulation........ Not a chiropracter he forces the joint... I was also told that I should say if we tune the antenna we tune the brain... , having a direct path to the brain lets us cleanly process the signal we resonate in harmony and frequency with.

Magnets

I had a buzzing sound in my ear off and on for the last six months. I purchased a magnetic bracelet on e-bay and noticed that it got less and then went away after about one week. The magnetic bracelets are a couple of dollars so not a big investment. I wear mine all the time even in the shower. They are actually a very attractive piece of jewelry. I am curious to know if anyone else has a similar response.

Colloidal Silver

★★★★☆

I used Similisan Homeopathic drops for ear wax removal in the morning. In the evening, before bed, with a rubber ear syringe, I gently squirted Colloidal silver in one ear, laid on the other side for 5 minutes, then absorbed the colloidal silver with a clean wash cloth as it drained out when I sat up. Then did the same to the other ear. The next morning, I used the same treatment with just the colloidal silver but leaving it in each ear for approximately 30 minutes per ear. This has reduced the loud ringing/tinnitus approximately 90%.

Garlic
Posted by Dave (Fountain Inn, Sc) on 10/01/2011

There are different types of tinnitis and the causation will differ also. The garlic solution worked because that tinnitis problem was probably virally induced and garlic is an anti-viral. But notice the residue came out also. That means a wax buildup is there so anyone with ear problems first make sure the ear canal is cleaned... But main issue of tinnitis for many people could be an infection. Infection could cause tinnitis or equilibrium problems. If one has on-going tinnitis at least try colloidal silver gently shot up both ear with an ear syringe. Again, make sure the canal is clear of wax. The reason some people get water "stuck" in the ear canal is usually because of wax buildup issues.

B12

B12 deficiency is associated with the conditions of , vertigo, tinnitus, and hearing loss. Though nerve damage can be permanent, B12 can at least stop some of its progression by helping to produce myelin to recoat the axons. I had mild hearing loss, mild tinnitus, and severe vertigo. They are now gone. My husband has familial hearing loss and moderate tinnitus. He hasn't worsened, but he hasn't noticed improvement yet after 5 mnths. of B12 supplementation. I recommend a trial of methylcobalamin, an active form of B12, between 1000 mcg. - 5000 mcg. daily, available in sublingual lozenges. My husband takes 2500 mcg. daily, and I now take 5000 mcg. daily. With these high dosages, we find that we need extra potassium in our diets, but that side effect is what I would rather tolerate than the vertigo, nerve damage, etc. Some people have also found that supplementation with zinc, CoQ10, and vitamin E have been helpful, along with a reasonable amount of B-complex.

I came to this site just last night. I have been experiencing ringing in my ear for 2 days. Started with a sore throat then went to my right ear. Prior to this I was having a low in and out humming happening for months. Went to get my hearing checked and all was good. I'm 58 and in good health I keep active. Last night I took my first dose of ACV in water 2 Tblsp with 8 oz of water, Organic _____s brand. It help some the noise isn't as loud. I took my second dose this morning and going for my 3rd. I also did a ear coning to help pull the ear wax out. I did this this morning. It's easy with help and feels fine. My right ear had 2X's as much wax in as my left. Hears to hearing better, even if I still am a bit off centered. I'll continue to do this along with taking Tumeric with black pepper it helps to assimulate the tumeric. I didn't measure the tumeric I put some in water and on my food last night. I'll let you know the results thanks for having this site.

General Feedback

I developed tinnitus suddenly after a 15 minute cell phone call on speakerphone, during which the sound quality was very rattly and metallic, with the high points sounding something like breaking glass. The volume wasn't very loud or next to my ear - it was just a very cacophonous rattly pitch. Right afterwards my ears were ringing and my left ear continued to ring for over a week, at which time I visited an ear doctor who pulled out a large hunk of earwax and the ringing abated while in the office, but soon started up after I left (or maybe the white noise of air conditioning in the office disguised the ringing).

After a week of continuous ringing I theorized that the wild frequencies during the phone call screwed up my ears' micro-hairs, and that perhaps coaxing them back to harmony would take the opposite kind of sound frequency - a single balanced continuous tone (along with self-healing affirmations and a belief that my ear was healing). On youtube I found a 528 hz solfeggio frequency tone (just a single continuous tone) and played it over and over via good Bose headphones. After two days my tinnitus abated considerably. I have to mention at the same time I started listening to the tones, my devout grandmother prayed for my hearing, so whether it was the 528 hz tone, the prayers or some other factor (additional vitamins, garlic oil in the ear a few times, and CoQ10 supplements), I do not know. My ear is still sensitive to high pitched squeaky sounds and I wear an earplug to give my ear a rest, but the ringing is probably only 5-10% of what it was two weeks ago and I can live with it, whereas I could not before. I think the first step is believing you can be cured, rather than listening to doctors who say it cannot be cured. If a cut or broken bone heals, so can your ears.

I have ringing in my ears (tinnitus). Would the Mini Beet Protocol cure this? It's supposed to re-build the DNA.

Chelated Magnesium
Posted by Pam (Millstone, Nre Jersey) on 03/19/2011

check to see if you clench your teeth at night. I had the same thing with my left ear. Alot of pressure like an inside earache. The doctor said it could be the jaw bone pushing up on the ear canal. Suggested I go to dentist and get plastic teeth guards to prevent me from clenching and grinding teeth at night. Also wants me to get an MRI. Going to wait and see first and do alot of praying that it goes away first. The doctor put me on steroids for a week for the imflamation, even though anti inflamitory drugs can make it worse, same as alcohol, salt and caffeine. Still have the ringing but noticed the pressure is lightening up. Hopefully the ringing will reduce but for now it's still there- not as bad as 5 days ago when it first started. I am going to try the Apple Cider Vinegar tonight! I feel for everyone here. I know what you're going through!

Tilting Your Head Back
Posted by Jen (Alexandria, Va) on 02/20/2011

I've had ringing in my ears for about 4 or 5 days. This my first experience with Tinnitus other than hearing feedback from concerts every now and again. I just leaned my head back and drank a 16 ounce bottle of water. I could hear the ringing reduce as I drank. When I finished, the ringing was almost gone.

I discovered this as a fluke by following up on suggestions from other EC posts. One said to put your head on your chest, another said the ringing may come from allergies. My allergic reactions are reduced when I drink water so as I chugged a bottle, the sound faded. I guess leaning your head back works as well as leaning it forward.

Off to drink some ACV as a back-up! Thanks for the great remedies!!!
