Turmeric

I have had what I feel sure is ulcerative colitis for quite a few years now and because I didn't want to used prescription drugs I tried Turmeric. It took 5 weeks before it began to kick in and the relief I felt from not having to lie awake at night with the pain was wonderful! If you want to try this you could probably use something for the pain until it kicks in for you?

I use the bulk organic turmeric from iherb and fill double 00 capsules, I found this as good if not better than the extract tablets and a lot cheaper too. [Do use disposable gloves whilst filling the capsules or you'll end up with yellow fingers! ]'

I take two of these capsules with every meal and have found this suits me. A few times I tried to cut down the doses but the symptoms started to re-appear, so I've pretty much kept to the same dosage for years now, with NO side effects.

I hope that other people with the same awful problem will find this useful.

Best wishes, Angela.

Aloe Vera Juice, Boswellia

According to Dr. D'Adamo, who discovered what foods certain blood types should use, the only blood type that can use aloe vera juice with no problems or with benefits, is blood type A. I'm blood type O and it worked for me once, back in the 80's. It's never worked for me since. I'm using it now because I'm desperate but it's not helping. According to this doctor, type O's should follow the caveman diet because we were the original blood type and blood types changed as man began to expand out of Africa to other parts of the world, thus eating different types of food. I admit I have a problem with this because of my palate, I don't like meat! I love milk products and according to my dna, I don't have a problem with milk. As for everyone with colitis, use common sense, don't eat sugared foods, soda pop, caffeine, alcohol, and processed foods. You could check into this concept if the SCD diet hasn't helped because it is mainly the caveman diet.

Avoid Carrageenan

I'm surprised that so many people are using almond milk, when it, like other nut milks, contains carrageenan. I found only one thread, a woman with ulcerative colitis, expressing how destructive it is. What is your opinion on it?

WARNING!

Yes, I learned how bad carrageenan is for us folks with colitis and extremely upset and disappointed with finding it in my almond milk! It's in a lot of stuff, not just nut milk also different ice cream brands, even the so-called healthy Breyers! Very disappointed! I discovered it's not in Fred Meyer or Kroger's brand called Simple Truth. Unfortunately, it still other stuff in it. The best way to get your nut milk is to make it yourself using raw nuts that you've soaked for a few hours.

Avoid Carrageenan
Posted by Rene' (lark) (Tx) on 09/13/2015

I wanted to report back on my wonderful healing. After almost three weeks of being off all my 'health' foods that contained Carrageenan I am almost totally back to normal after suffering all of 2015 with ulcerative colitis. I was also taking whole leaf aloe vera juice ( the gel contains carrageenan) and also a slippery elm capsule instead of turmeric for inflammation. This has been nothing short of a miracle for me as I could barely leave the house or sleep at night. I am so grateful to God. Please be cautious as to what the ingredients are in your healthy regimen. You never know what can cause an adverse effect.

WARNING!

Dear Fellow Sufferers,

I have done some research that has revealed a crazy element concerning my chronic colitis. Actually I thought of it from reading a post here that mentioned that carrageenan could cause diarrhea. I have been having worsening bouts for about 7 months and have been trying to figure out how my diet could have changed and what could have caused this. I had started drinking a lot more of the coconut and almond milks...this is suppose to be a GOOD thing, right? Also putting it in my Healthy whey protein drinks and smoothies. Come to find out that both the nut milks and the protein powder have carrageenan in them. Also the Aloe Vera Inner Fillet Gel that I had been drinking has it in the formula also. I am going to eliminate this immediately from my diet. I am not a very strong person, my immune system isn't so great.

Maybe this isn't your problem, but I am certainty going to find out. If you have a problem with the big 'D', it may be worth it to ck the ingredients in the 'healthy' things you have been ingesting. Bless you all.

Using chemical drugs (treatment) for a long time can harm our overall health or cause a new problem. So good to balance it with natural remedy. But before trying any herbs, pls search enough information about the herbs or consult with herbalist/naturopath/dietician. As herbs can be strong enough or interfere with drugs. Turmeric has many benefits for health including cure for cancer, but search what the right dose is, don't overdose.

St: Nice to hear your success! If I may suggest some additions.

First, as for the fiber; it would surely be an improvement expanding your fiber to more types as psyllium is good yet restricted in results. I mix a combination of Psylium-Pectin-Wheat or Oat fiber for full spectrum effect. The pectin will remove any possible radioactive isotopes which can reek major havoc in even very small amounts from sources like dairy foods, iodine deficiency, and radon found in homes particularly basements and cellars. Wheat & Oak fiber have the remarkable ability to manufacture Butyric Acid which is a major fuel source for the cells of the colon.

Second, as for the inflammation, many folks have reported good results for UC by taking Turmeric. Turmeric is particularly powerful anti-inflammatory but also is one of the most broad-spectrum beneficial herbs on the planet.

Third, to increase the efficiency of probiotics, it is advised to predose w/ antibiotics herbs like Garlic, Oregano, Olive Leaf, Neem, Grapefruit seed. After killing gut pathogens w/ these herbs, this frees up the probiotics to "populate" the gut.

Speaking of gut flora, do be sure to get enough Vit-K rich foods like green foods like Spirullina, Chlorella, Wheat & Barely Grass. Many people are starting their day w/ "green smoothies". These vitamin K rich foods help the body manufacture probiotics naturally. FOS is also used as a pre-probiotic w/ good results.

I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis via biopsy during colonoscopy. I am allergic to the drug used to treat UC and was advised by regular MD there was nothing they could do. Dr said if I didn't find a way to get it under control on my own I only would last about 5 years. After bleeding internally for 1.5 years going a D.O., ARNP, DC & acupuncturist, helped me get it completely under control.

Here is how: Chiropractor found I was highly intolerant to wheat, that was the first I eliminated. so no wheat, no gluten.

Further food logs revealed no more dairy either. There are other foods that I found as triggers & I avoid them and the regimen I take daily is:

4 probiotics a day they also contain a yeast cleanse this is crucial. I get them from AST enzymes on line. When I tried to take less I found myself catching the colds and flu bugs everyone else was getting. At this dose I seem to never catch what everyone else is getting.

I tried every other brand of probiotics and was super sick due to the dairy. Also tried non-dairy I ordered on line but didn't work.

I drink psyllium husk this is a bulking fiber it helps sweep the intestines and keep bowels regular

I take omega 3 every day to reduce inflammation

I take Quercetin 500 mg a day this is to help with the allergic components.

I eat whole foods only and very little processed foods such as gluten free bread. Very little meat as it causes inflammation. Drs. said no pork although I do cheat and eat a small amount here and there. Eating alkaline foods and no acidic foods is very important

It is highly likely you may have a yeast problem which was confirmed for me in a stool sample. In order to get rid of it you have to eliminate sugar and take the probiotic yeast cleanse I mentioned earlier.

A food log is the best way to start. Aloe Vera juice did not help me nor did a lot of the other over the counter natural things. To a speedy recovery!

Nearly 4 weeks on the humic acid and I can safely say that I feel free of UC. Hemorrhoids have gone with the help of aloe vera topically. I have no other symptoms now. All bleeding stopped after 2 days, pus, mucous etc. gone after a week. Now passing 1 stool each day, well formed, energy levels rising, putting weight back on.

Big thanks to the guy that suggested I try this protocol.

Big thanks to Ted

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

Hi, for anyone interested..

I have acquired the Humic acid now. Bought in Australia and mailed over to Thailand. I have been taking 15 ml 2x/day along with aloe vera.

I had an immediate positive effect. In 2 days all bleeding stopped and by 1 week no more pus or mucous either. Good stools and regular.. note that I follow strict food combining principles so my stools were fairly good even before the introduction of Humic acid.

Addition benefit of the humic acid was a huge increase in energy levels. From day 1 I noticed the difference.

However, after almost 2 weeks, I now have external hemorrhoids. I'm wondering what to try to resolve this. I've actually been meaning to do aloe enemas as per Ted's recommended approach to UC but now that I'm ready to do this I'm worried about inserting the tube at the site of inflammation.

Ted, can you recommend anything? Perhaps aloe vera topically?

Thanks

Aloe Vera, Turmeric
Posted by Prioris (Fl, US) on 09/19/2014

Please be aware that there is a very strong potent version of Aloe Vera. Don't cross aloe vera off your list of options until you have considered this.

It is called Aloe Muciliginous Polysaccharide or AMP. One bottle of capsules is equal to I think over 70 gallons of aloe vera juice and it has none of the toxins that are in the juice. It only contains the active ingredient.

For people who tried the juice, you may just need a more powerful and potent formula. The only downside is the cost. The upside is that once you improve, you can cut down the dose. I used Aloe MP Plus ($126) and it cured my diverticulitis in 6 weeks. It healed the pouches. I'd give it 2 or 3 months. So if all the less expensive options have failed, try this.

On a side notes, there is something called Munaka Honey one could research. Therapeutic dose should have a MKO rating of 400 or more. MKO is more scientifically based and measures the amount of the actual active ingredient vs just a number like 20+. I don't have any personal experience with this

When I look at studies, different types of colon inflammation seems to be a product of one of these.

a) a bad microbe that shouldn't be there.

b) a microbe that normally lives in the intestine but has gotten out of control.

AMP and many other remedies really target these problems and even allow healing. Things won't heal until the offending microbe is controlled.

On the other end, you should support good flora in your system with probiotics.

On the subject of Probiotics: one needs to take these if one has any significant history of colon problems. The biggest barrier is finding one that works for you. I would be especially persistent in researching different brands in this area. Don't just try a couple and give up. BE PERSISTENT.

Here is another reason why probiotics are important. It has consequences for your overall health.

"Researchers at the University of Cologne Germany, found out that eliminating the intestinal bacteria of laboratory animals brought their immune system activity to a screeching halt and with probiotics, immune function was restored. The scientists also discovered that these bacteria produced protein like compounds called peptides that kept the immune system running at a low idle, prepared to respond to disease causing infections. More research has discovered that probiotics trigger a wide range of immune compound that battle harmful bacteria and viruses."

One should not take soil based probiotics unless ones gut flora is healthy enough.

Selecting Probiotics seems to come down to

1) Delivery method

2) Number and kinds of microbes

3) Miscellaneous. Spore and non spore. May be others.

There are conflicting statements on whether number one is important. Based on anecdote reports, I sense it is important.

Controlled-Release Technology. Controlled-release formulas are specially coated to protect the probiotics from gastric acid and ultimately deliver a high percentage of live probiotic bacteria to the intestines. BIO-tract delivery system.

Beadlet Technology. This process was developed in Japan and involves enclosing live probiotic bacteria in a small, pearl-shaped beadlet, where the walls of the beadlet are formulated to survive stomach acid and release their contents only when they reach the more neutral environment of the intestines.

So just make sure you tried a variety of methods. You can test if you organisms are active by just dumping a capsule in milk and waiting 24 hours.

Humic Acid
Posted by Ketchup (Maehongson, Thailand) on 09/02/2014

Dear Ted. I hope you can help.

Since you are based in Thailand, I was hoping that you might be able to help me to source some of the suggested supplements to cure ulcerative colitis.

I am living in the North of Thailand, near to Chiang Mai but can easily order online if necessary.

I have read much about the mycobacterium paratuberculosis and it's potential cause of colitis/crohn's.

Diagnosed with UC 2 years ago, I would say its mild compared to others' stories. Thankfully!

I have managed to hold off all western medication thrown at me, and instead have worked with my diet to manage the condition. The best results I've had have been from correct food combining, which I follow very strictly.

However, although I'm now passing good stools for most the time, the inflammation still returns and causes pain and bleeding. In fact, fasting for a period of 2 weeks gave me the best results but I lost so much weight that I'm fearful of taking this route again. I'm already 6 kgs below my normal weight.

So, I'm hoping that an Humic acid/aloe vera approach may work to help kill MAP and alleviate symptoms. I feel that this approach with my current diet might just result in permanent healing.

I am, however, finding it difficult to source Humic acid in Thailand. Can you advise? I've ordered a liquid supplement containing Humic acid from Australia but I've read that the powder is preferred. Is it possible to source here in Thailand do you know?

Also, is there anything else that you would recommend that I take along side the Humic acid?

Thanks for your time

Vitamin E Enema
Posted by Timh (KY) on 08/26/2014 2048 posts

I have used a Fleet enema container filled w/ vegetable oil infused w/ Vit-A and Vit-E w/ good results. One little squirt on a daily basis will do. Most times the oil will remain inside the rectum/colon but sometimes it will expel as in the case of passing gas. A prior-to-retiring administration may be best and place a protective cloth or old towel underneath, just-in-case.

Vitamin E Enema
Posted by Marine17 (Nicosia, Cyprus) on 08/25/2014

Hi Mark! Sorry just saw your question. You can't buy vitamin E enema on its own. You just need to buy the oil capsules and a small enema tube and make it yourself. you can add some distilled water to make sure it goes further up. But this should be approximately half a small coffee cup altogether so it stays inside. Total of about 4000-5000 IU. I would also recommend taking probiotics or Kefir if you can tolerate it as well as at least a teaspoon of L-glutamine. I also take a turmeric supplement and selenium. I know it sounds a lot perhaps but better than taking drugs which is the one thing I am trying to avoid. And of course watch your diet. Take out anything that makes your symptoms worse.

Editor's Choice

Ulcerative Colitis: I have found the best way to safely and quickly kill off gut infections (without killing off the body's friendly bacteria) is to take high dose potassium iodide for a few days. This stuff is sold for use in case of radiation exposure, but potassium iodide safely kills off yeast, bacteria, fungus, viruses, and most parasites like giardia, etc. Take 100 to 120 mg (not mcg) on an empty stomach before going to bed and let it work its way through your intestines. Do for 3 days, once each evening, then wait 8 days and do it again (to catch any eggs that have hatched out). Iodide is very healing to the gut and should not exacerbate any conditions, though you may have a "die off" reaction if you have a massive infestation. I also recommend the GAPS diet for complete healing of the gut. I practically destroyed my gut using Flagyl etc, then restored it using the GAPS diet, and iodine/iodide. Now if I get any gut infection I take one 100 mg potassium iodide pill and it takes care of it in a couple hours. I have had no intestinal problems since. You can buy high strength potassium iodide on Amazon.com. Also, google "Iodine: the Universal medicine" for other good uses of iodine/iodide.

Probiotics, Dietary Changes

Hi David,

With LDN, the least effective dose is the best. The higher the dose, the longer the endorphins are blocked. It is when the LDN leaves the system that you get the beneficial rebound effect of your body increasing the endorphins. You want to maximize this time by taking the lowest effective dose that will remain in your body the least amount of time and give you the longest time to benefit from the LDN after it has done it's work and left the body. Many people take 3 mg but I believe the least amount that can be effective is 1.5mg. You can even take it every other day with good results. See www.ldninfo.org and then join the Yahoo group mentioned on that site. There are many in that group who have the same problem as you, and can advise you about the dose, but I believe it is based on what works for each individual, and changing the dose to see what works best. For this, making the liquid version and withdrawing the amount you wish to take is more convenient than the capsules, and the group can advise you where to buy it in tablet form online from which you can make the liquid. You can also dissolve the contents of the capsules in distilled water to be able to control what dose you want to take. Best wishes.

Great news on the non recurrence of ulcerative colitis.

I just saw a success story of a lady who had suffered from UC for years and was on continued meds to keep the UC under control.

She experimented with Colloidal Silver and in two weeks could tell the UC had dramatically diminished. Now, three months later she is not on meds and the symptoms of UC are gone.

She is convinced the Silver finally killed the infection.

This is A Roper from Sydney. Just wanted to update again that I have not had a relapse of UC since by previous posts - I've been clear since 2009. I'm not taking any medication at all and haven't for a number of years. I haven't had any antibiotics since 2008, haven't had any vaccinations. I've hardly had a cold. For me, antibiotics were definitely the cause. I suspect they triggered dormant viruses I contracted from vaccinations. I haven't been tested for such viruses but I'm planning on it soon. The more I know, the more I can do to keep myself cured from UC. Hope this helps anyone dealing with it.

It has been 2 weeks and my stools is as close to normal as has ever been since I don't know when.

coconut heals the intestinal tract from teeth and mouth enzymes to the gut to the rectum. It is anti fungal , anti bacterial, anti viral, anti microbial.

I have had intestinal problems and I'm on month 7 for daily coconut oil and meat, haven't drank the coconut milk, but the meat helps with diarrhea in a lot of people and the oil doesn't tax the liver. It does make me a bit quesy when I first drink or eat the oil 3-5 tsp. at a time - but I take a couple papaya tabs and that calms it down. Coconut products are truly AMAZING for overall improved health. Betafood heals the gut too and I use a few tabs of it daily with my supplements. It heals the gallbladder and helps digest fats.

Guys, I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis while I was in Africa 8 years ago. Every now and then, and the latest was last month, I go and lie to the medical doctors and say I need a test for bacteria, parasites and any pathogen, and all are coming negative. So I don't know really if I have to believe the results tat I do not have any bacteria or parasite or not...

I do still believe though that it was caused by an infections in that not so clean environment, while I was very clean before living there, eating only home cooked meals, exercising regularla and being very athletic. Since then I have lost all my health and body. But I also guess my diet helped getting me colitis by that time. I was heavy on eggs (more than 5 a day, sometimes I ate 10), milk of around one liter per day and also cheeses (usually white). What do you think? I know that stool and blood test can have mistakes, but can they have the same mistake over and over again? I did 3 tests already this year and 3 times any parasite or bacteria came negative.

I love to read it as there is such a vast range of action by this sacred herb. Here you will find a section on your needs. Turmeric works to the chakra level and as is also with Chinese medicine, you may first feel effects on your subtle plane. Killing pathogens with superoxygenation is done by MMS, a very powerful remedy.

Hulda Clark's remedies for parasites work very well as per my own experience years ago. However your condition seems to require a broader spectrum remedy. Chemical medicine can complicate matters, not to mention side effects, etc. Hope this helps. Om

Thanks guys for the suggestions.

LDN treatment sounds promising. I will definitely pursue it and try to see how can I get that here in Germany.

As for the fecal transplant, I am also considering it and studying it. The cost is an issue unless I have to do it myself without testing the donor and so on. Otherwise its an expensive treatment given that only some special centers in the world do it. (One in Australia and some others in the States).

Coming to MMS, I never heard about it, and is also very interesting. I also may give it a try.

As for turmeric (curcumin), in the last month, I was adding curcumin on virtually everything I ate. I experienced no healing effect. Maybe I was not taking enough. I don't know. I may try your suggestion to take it with water, without the whey. Will still that work?

Thanks again for your suggestions. Looking forward for more suggestions regarding my case and I look forward to help others to find a cure for their colitis problem.

Berj, if it was me, I would visit Jim Humble's website as he has a lot of experience with diseases in Africa. He has healed many of malaria and his remedy is MMS. There is help on that site.

I would heal the gut with turmeric, two teaspoons in simple whey powder and water, which also addresses the liver. Ayurvedic Amala powder which is the best vit C can also be taken to body tolerance. Hope you will embark on your tour to good health soon. Best wishes, Om

Ulcerative Colitis Remedies

Berj, Look into low dose naltrexone at www.ldninfo.org. There are published studies about it's use, with a 67% effective rate for Crohn's and UC. It is FDA approved at 50 mg for addictions, but was found to be very helpful at low doses of 1.5 - 4.5mg for many autoimmune diseases with no side effects except vivid dreams for a week or so in some individuals. Also, although this is difficult to think about at first, there is a woman on this site whose husband had terrible bowel issues and she finally tried a fecal transplant using herself as a donor on the weekend, and he is now completely cured! I have read that this is 100% effective for those with C-diff, too, the theory is that the lack of correct micro organisms in the intestine is causing the problem. Two possible remedies to think about. Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon.

Ulcerative Colitis Remedies

Dear all, thanks for this wonderful site. I am sure it is helping tons of people with difficulties out there.

I would like to talk about my problem with Ulcerative Colitis and ask about recommendations.

I am 31 years old, diagnosed with ulcerative colitis since 2005 while I was working and living in Nigeria. (left sided, proctitise, chron's colitis, etc as it keeps on changing per medical doctors). Bloody diarrhea, weight loss and fatigue were all common. At the beginning of the disease it was getting controlled with steroids. Now after some years, flareups are frequent, and not controllable with steroids. I lost my weight from 70 kgs ( I'm 173 cm) and being athletic, to 50 kgs now and skinny, since I am sick all the time. The disease is effecting my joints too. I was hospitalized 2 times last year because of movement restrictions in my joints and heavy bleeding. That's the story in a nutshell.

I would like to know where to start. There's alot of information everywhere, but for sure the cure is not with medical doctors. It's just here, natural healing. So please can you advice how should I start healing my intestines?

1st you are mentioning, colitis is caused by mycobacterium. So I have to kill these in the first step, then the second step is healing the intestines and the 3rd step always supply building blocks for these healing so I do not get into flarups again. That's of course by avoiding alot of bad foods (which I do not eat actually). So please can you supply a personalized supplementation plan since you say everyone is different? I want to heal my intestines, get my health back and get back my body.

Are foods like gluten, lactose, eggs, seeds and nuts very bad and causing autoimmune reactions?

Moreover, how can someone visit Ted in Thailand? Is that possible?

Regards and thanks in advance.

Please feel free to contact me by email as well. This goes to anyone on this website. We are here to help each other, and together we are stronger.

Apple Juice

I Cured U.C

Apple Juice, store bought 4 glasses a day, having suffered for 7 years with heartburn and brown blood and mucous in stools daily after 3 days all symptoms entirely gone.

Had tried bicarb regularly to get rid of the heartburn, now I have no heartburn either, I did have a bit but a teaspoon of white vinegar got rid of it on two occasions and then a 3rd occasion I used apple cider vinegar.

Also have had fresh lemon juice and honey a few times.

Can't promote enough to those with brown blood and mucous in stools, try apple juice about four glasses a day, totally has cured me first 5 days in a row with not one symptom and I feel like I did when I was a kid ( almost : )

Oh yeah sexual function has gone from uh oh to finely, back to normal... Even better actually ; )

I was very worried for years... not now worried at all.

My IBS plagued me for years. I never knew what I should eat. Nothing agreed with me and I was constantly going to the bathroom until I tried fecal transplants. Now I am completely better. I bought a guidebook from Sky Curtis's website. It was easy to do, perfectly safe, and now I can eat anything!

Turmeric, Cumin, Aloe Vera

After all the foods and the drinks I had with the family during the christmas period really put me in danger at the start of the new year. I was bleeding from my stomach for few days. whatever I eat the problem is still there. I even felt dizzy one morning and that lasted couple days. Probably because of the blood lost. I was about to call an emergency. On the morning instead of having my usual coffee I decided to go some kind of natural remedies. A mug of hot milk with one teaspoon of turmeric powder and one teaspoon of Cumin diluted and drunk it at once. My lunch was just plain boiled rice another cup of hot milk in the afternoon with the same mixture. I also had Aloe vera drink in between. In the morning when I went to the toilet I haven't had a single drop of blood and my stool was normal. The time I went for a Doctor appointment after few days he said everything is fine. But I will be going for internal gastro check (whatever is called). I hope you guys will find the same benefits from theses remedies.

Baking Soda, Milk of Magnesia

Raw apple cider vinegar is alkaline producing so I think it would be beneficial for those suffering from colitis. Here is a list of alkaline/acid producing foods. http://rense.com/1.mpicons/acidalka.htm

Remember that it doesn't matter what the food's ph is or what it tastes like that determines whether or not it has an alkaline or acid effect on the body. For eg., after digestion, citrus fruits are alkaline forming in the body and animal products are acid forming.

High Fiber, Probiotics

I have had ulcerative colitis for 22 years and have tried a lot of different stuff! The best thing that I've found is high fiber (to sweep away the inflamation! ) and multiple probiotics. I eat what ever I want and I went to work for 30 years and rarely missed a day. My high fiber is oatmeal, cheerios, miniwheats, multigrain bread. Fiber 1 chewable is best if you don't get enough fiber with cereal. For years I had to push myself to go to work. The first time I took the probiotics I couldn't believe how much better I felt. I was getting sick once a year and using antibiotics for years and wasn't replacing the bacteria in my gut and had only bad bacteria in my gut. I was almost high from feeling good it had been so long. I use the pills once a month for maintenance and a few days after using an antibiotic for 10 days. (to put good bacteria back in! Antibiotics kill both good and bad bacteria! ) I take the pills the day before a day off because they will make you poop alot (just that first day!)

Have you looked into the Specific Carbohydrate Diet for him? (It's also commonly refered to as SCD. ) There are websites and books devoted to it.

Gluten Free
Posted by Granny On The Go (Waco, Tx) on 12/30/2012

I have a friend that was sick and miserable with ulcerative colitis. I kept telling her it was the foods she eats. She found some relief by staying off sugar most of the time. Then she tried not drinking coffee for breakfast. That was a big breakthrough for her. I can't get her to go gluten free, but she now only has occasional symptoms. She still takes a steroid, and I haven't been able to convince her to modify her diet some more in hopes that she could get off the steroid. But, her health is much improved from what it was.
