Turmeric, Cumin, Aloe Vera

After all the foods and the drinks I had with the family during the christmas period really put me in danger at the start of the new year. I was bleeding from my stomach for few days. whatever I eat the problem is still there. I even felt dizzy one morning and that lasted couple days. Probably because of the blood lost. I was about to call an emergency. On the morning instead of having my usual coffee I decided to go some kind of natural remedies. A mug of hot milk with one teaspoon of turmeric powder and one teaspoon of Cumin diluted and drunk it at once. My lunch was just plain boiled rice another cup of hot milk in the afternoon with the same mixture. I also had Aloe vera drink in between. In the morning when I went to the toilet I haven't had a single drop of blood and my stool was normal. The time I went for a Doctor appointment after few days he said everything is fine. But I will be going for internal gastro check (whatever is called). I hope you guys will find the same benefits from theses remedies.
High Fiber, Probiotics

I have had ulcerative colitis for 22 years and have tried a lot of different stuff! The best thing that I've found is high fiber (to sweep away the inflamation! ) and multiple probiotics. I eat what ever I want and I went to work for 30 years and rarely missed a day. My high fiber is oatmeal, cheerios, miniwheats, multigrain bread. Fiber 1 chewable is best if you don't get enough fiber with cereal. For years I had to push myself to go to work. The first time I took the probiotics I couldn't believe how much better I felt. I was getting sick once a year and using antibiotics for years and wasn't replacing the bacteria in my gut and had only bad bacteria in my gut. I was almost high from feeling good it had been so long. I use the pills once a month for maintenance and a few days after using an antibiotic for 10 days. (to put good bacteria back in! Antibiotics kill both good and bad bacteria! ) I take the pills the day before a day off because they will make you poop alot (just that first day!)

I have a friend that was sick and miserable with ulcerative colitis. I kept telling her it was the foods she eats. She found some relief by staying off sugar most of the time. Then she tried not drinking coffee for breakfast. That was a big breakthrough for her. I can't get her to go gluten free, but she now only has occasional symptoms. She still takes a steroid, and I haven't been able to convince her to modify her diet some more in hopes that she could get off the steroid. But, her health is much improved from what it was.

Excellent News, good wishes. Can you clarify how did you take the flax seeds.
1. Was it freshly ground everytime you gave her?
2. Was it Flax Seed powder or capsules bought from store?
Because freshly ground flax seeds are good, Already ground flax seeds powder or capsules are oxidized which is less potent. thanks

[You might want to consider] Sprouted Flax Seeds, which keep fresh for
at least two years! These are really special. Soaked and sprouted foods have "awoken" in some way, are much more powerfully activated healing foods, and seem to have, dare I say,
immortal properties, like not turning rancid or decaying easily.

Hi All / Ted, Maybe you can research this further. I found this comment on a site called ihaveuc. com. I do believe UC is bacteria related. Maybe Ted or some other expert can shed some light on this new study by the Japanese research team.
Japanese researchers identified a particular bacteria (Fusobacterium varium) as a cause of UC. This bacteria produces a substance (butyric acid) that attacks and inflames the bowels.
See here: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1773498/
They are now targeting the bacteria with specific medications.
See here: http://www.thedoctorschannel.com/video/3068.html
Other information on effective antibiotics for this bacteria, drugs that will block the specific organic acid created by this bacteria, and drugs to keep it from implanting into the bowel's mucosa is available here: http://www.freepatentsonline.com/7700106.html
If anyone can address this data, that would be great. I don't want to take too many medications or natural remedies without understanding the root cause of the problem. My gall bladder was removed in the mid 90's so it is possible that I may have been more susceptible to this disease - not sure. I was diagnosed last summer. (about 7 cm uc found at the entrance of the rectum)... On Asacol now... we'll see...
Your response would be appreciated. Thank You, J

What is your dose of LDN? 4.5mg was making me feel too weird.
Probiotics, Dietary Changes
Posted by Rsw (Uniontown, Oh) on 05/15/2014
Hi David,
With LDN, the least effective dose is the best. The higher the dose, the longer the endorphins are blocked. It is when the LDN leaves the system that you get the beneficial rebound effect of your body increasing the endorphins. You want to maximize this time by taking the lowest effective dose that will remain in your body the least amount of time and give you the longest time to benefit from the LDN after it has done it's work and left the body. Many people take 3 mg but I believe the least amount that can be effective is 1.5mg. You can even take it every other day with good results. See www.ldninfo.org and then join the Yahoo group mentioned on that site. There are many in that group who have the same problem as you, and can advise you about the dose, but I believe it is based on what works for each individual, and changing the dose to see what works best. For this, making the liquid version and withdrawing the amount you wish to take is more convenient than the capsules, and the group can advise you where to buy it in tablet form online from which you can make the liquid. You can also dissolve the contents of the capsules in distilled water to be able to control what dose you want to take. Best wishes.

Hi Everyone, This is a story of my sister (Nafisa Naviwala) who had Ulcerative Colitis few years before-
6yrs before at the age of 21, my sister gave birth to a child... On that day she passed the stool which was very liquid... From that day the actual problem started but couldn't realise... Every night she used to go for toilet once, but the frequency increased day by day... After some days the stool also contained drops of blood... We went to several doctors to diagnose but none of the doctors could imagine what the actual problem was. They thought it was piles. After several doctors one of the doctors examined and asked to go through an endoscopy. We went to Rajkot (City).
We did the endoscopy but due to careless behaviour only half of the Endoscopy was done. Medicines were prescribed by the Doctor which was manly Mesacol and others. The problem was contained for several days but then it came to that point again. Doctor was contacted and asked to increase the dose to double. But problems continued.
We didn't had more trust on the doctor, so shifted to one of the famous hospital of Mumbai. Once again the overall process started but problems continued. The daily charges and medical charges were too expensive. After 8-10 days treatment under Doctor's supervision, we decided to come back and continue from our hometown. After some days, it came back to its original place. Contacted the doctor but he asked to get admitted and to be in his supervision. This was not which could be afforded.
Doses were increased but there weren't any solutions... People use to give several advice- knocked the doors of homeopathic, Ayurvedic and several others... This continued for a year. But the problem still prevailed. Doctors use to show faith and trust on their medicines but there weren't any results.
Weight was reduced to 27kgs from 42kgs. Frequencies of motions were increased to 12-15 times in a day. Other severe problems started: black outs, memory loss, weight loss, body pain etc due to heavy doses of steroids and other medicines.
Family Surgeon recommended a Gastro-Enterologist doctor in Rajkot. One more knock on the door. This time it was Wockhardt hospital. Overall process was again started. Endoscopy, Biopsy and other major blood reports were done. After examining the reports, on consultation doctor advised, the problem has been from a long run and colitis spread in the major parts of large intestine and it could also spread to small intestine which could further lead to Cancer.. He advised, we would take a chance with medicines for maximum of 3months, if still prevailed would recommend surgery (removal of large intestine).
Medications were started; suppository, azoran, mesacol, Entofoam and others were advised. But no recovery in the given deadline. Same problems existed. Doctor asked to opt for surgery and recommended one of the best doctors of Gujarat.
Moved on to Ahmadabad this time, Hari-Bhakti Surgical Hospital now as Kaizen Hospital. Under the guidance of Dr. Hari Bhakti and Harshad Soni two well known masters of this field. Surgery was done in two stages and large intestine was taken off. At first some minor problems prevailed after surgery, but then everything was taken care by these doctors.
Ulcerative colitis had ruined her entire life. Marriage life ended in a divorce as soon as Ulcer was diagnosed. Now she lives a normal life with her 2 children. My advice is not to take Ulcer symptoms lightly, as it can damage your whole life. Homeopathic & Ayurvedic is hard to believe in these cases. People simply waste months and years in these treatments. If 6years before we would have consulted a specialist or a good doctor we wouldn't had to come so far. It could have easily been treated with medications.
Please do consult in case you need any further advice on my email- nadeemnaviwala(at)yahoo.com

I am diagnosed by UC on 2007. Since then I am on different medication from light medicine all the way to heaviest and costly mEds. Medicine helped but never cure me or near remision. Always has pain, cramping, and some bleeding. My stool always soft and urgency my biggest fear. However a big change happened when I was talking to a pharmacist from middle east who is specialist with natural remedies beside conventional meds. He suggested that 60% of his patient who follow gluten free diet get major improvement on their UC conditions.
That was on January 2012. Since then I am strictly gluten free. First month of this diet which was February, pain start to disappear, reduce steroids from 40 ml to 10 ml per day. On March there was improvment on urgency, and stool get somewhat harder. And now end of April, I skiped my infusion, free of steroid, no pain at all, stool very hard, and I go to bathroom once or twice a day after I used to go at least 5 to 7 times. The only medicine I am still taking is the Imuran 50 ml a day. I am planning to do colonoscopy sometime on November. I hope that will help you guys and make you feel better. Thanks

Hi, I have had ulcerative colitis for two and a half years and was able to achieve remission for about a year and a half with asacol. However about two weeks ago I came out of remission with small flare ups that have now become larger. I have done a lot of food elimination which helps with the pain, but I am still bleeding badly. I just got my order of Supreme Fulvic and Humic acid Complex. So my question is should I stop using the asacol and just start the Fulvic/Humic acid regimin? Instructions say to take it 30 mins before meds, but I am dosed 3 times per day 12 pills that are time release. I don't want there to be a clash between the two, but I don't want to make my flare up worse if the asacol is somehow helping even if just a small bit. Just need some advice. On a side note I also ordered Renew Life Critical care probiotics that I plan to start as soon as they arrive.

You are in the same place I am. I'm continuing the asacol while on Ted's remedy and on a prednisone taper as well. I'm in a moderate to severe flare up for 6 months, first time in 8 years when I was diagnosed and I'm a 48 year old athletic male. 8 years with no meds at all until a dentist over prescribed antibiotics for 6 weeks. 1 month later all hell broke loose and here I am because the Dr's have no clue what to do except to pump me with steroids and asacol and it doesnt work.
So, I started doing enemas with supreme humic/fulvic acid mixed with 5ml of aloe vera oil and water three days ago. I'm also taking melatonin as its better than sleeping pills and it can help. My bleeding for the last two months was scaring me although my levels were fine as per emegency room visit do to reaction to a new med az-something. My pancreas failed, nice meds huh.. Anyway, in three days my bleeding went from an 8 out of 10 to a 1 out of 10! DR's want nothing to do with this and just stare at you like a puppy with their head tilted and then tell you about the newest drug. I was scheduled for remecade but I'm trying this first as it makes more sense.
I also started using DMSO yesterday after days of research. Research everything on this site and see what you find as you'll be surprised how clueless the medical field is or maybe just against natural cures. I'll see if the DMSO helps as the only side effect is the smell. It makes your breath smell like Creamed Corn and Garlic, kinda funny though..
Also I've cut out all sugar, iron and calcium as per Ted's Remedy. Steamed veggies, chicken, oatmeal plain etc. Ive lost some body fat so at least that's positive and I've had a lot less trips to the bathroom in the last few days which is a relief. I also drink the humic in the am and also aloe vera juice. The steroids gave me mouth sores but after 4 days of the aloe orally they were gone and that was two weeks ago. I'm forming stool as well now but still running but then aloe can have that effect as well.
Hope this helps.

After planting some vegetable seeds (& eating the leaves which grew) using the following techniques my ulcerative colitis healed up about 70 percent within a couple of weeks.. Feel free to try it :)
Anastasia and the Power of Healing Yourself through Plants
These planting techniques have been scientifically tested. People who were sick or lacking in certain nutrients etc. Grew the seedlings using the method below, & the leaves or fruit off each plant were shown to have produced more of whatever nutrient the person was lacking in. This resulted in healing for a variety of diseases. (The plants cater to different needs of the individuals who grow them). Healthy people also experienced extra benefits from using the techniques.
The weeds should not be disposed of completely, as they have their own appointed function. Some weeds serve to protect the plant from disease while others give supplemental information. During the cultivation time, it is vital to communicate with the plant. And it is desirable to approach it and touch it during a full moon at least once during its growth period. Anastasia maintains that the fruit cultivated from the seed in this manner, and consumed by the individual who cultivated it, is capable not only of curing him of all diseases of the flesh whatsoever, but also of significantly retarding the ageing process, rescuing him from harmful habits, tremendously increasing his mental abilities and giving him a sense of inner peace. The fruit will have the most effective influence when consumed no later than three days after harvesting. The above-mentioned steps should be taken with a variety of plant species (sunflowers & wheat have been recommended to be included) in the garden-plot.
Many people have also reported healing benefits from cedar oil (also mentioned in the Anastasia books).
Peace. :)

Hi. I have had uc for awhile now. I'm 29 and athletic. I'm pretty sure it started due to a combination of high stress and taking antibiotics. I noticed so far that if I drink green tea with a lot of natural honey, not the stuff one buys at supermarkets it decreases the flare ups. If you have a flare up, greeted with honey dissolved in it calms it down pretty fast. Exercise and diet along with pentasa helps a lot. I'm at my best when I bodybuild and eat dry foods, brown bread, turkey slices, low fat cheeses n so on. But give the green tea with 1/4 dissolved naturally honey a try it's a life saver for me.

Hey Ted, How are you doing? I bought some humic acid powder and I'm not exactly sure how my measurements should be. It's 100% humic and is completely black and when I have mixed it, it is a little difficult. I'm not sure why, but eventually it does mix but leaves some sediment at the bottom. Should this happen and is it fine? This is the place I purchased it from (
http://www.teravita.com/Products/Products.htm). If you copy and paste the link you will see the products, however I have the 100% so it's not there but the 90% humic is there and it's the same description but obviously the most potent.
Also, how much should I be mixing??? I have been putting regular water in about a glass liter jar and putting 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of the humic in it and mixing. I drink 1 ounce 2-3 times a day. Is this ok? Could you let me know what I should be doing? I feel no different at all or any changes with myself or colitis. Everything seems the same basically, however it's only been a few days!
Also, as I understand, there should be no taste, but I do get an earthy/rocky taste with this.... Is this normal since it's 100%? So is you could help me with these four points, I would appreciate it so much!
1. Is this humic fine?
2. Is this normal the way it mixes and sometimes alittle clumps at the bottom (sediment)?
3. Are my measurements fine?
4. The amount I take is fine?
Thanks!

I have also been diagnosed w/ U. C. I always asked my Dr. what can I do Diet wise to change my health? He says no diet can change my condition. I don't believe that. I went on a gluten free diet about 4 weeks ago. I have normal, even awesome! bowel movements now. I know that sounds gross to alot of people but if you have ever spent a year or more looking for the next bathroom, never trusting a fart, and just feeling so bloated and sore that you don't want to be around other people, you know what I mean.
I went gluten free after reading about people w/celiac. I thought, well, sounds like gluten is pretty poisonous, so I cut it out. Gluten free is easy if you don't have alot of other allergies. All fruit, fresh veggies, rice, beans, corn & corn cereal, meat, fish chicken are gluten free. I never was big on cake or pastry so that's ok. I do miss fresh bread though. You don't have to look for a label that says Gluten Free, just eat real food. Berries, yogurt, veggies, chicken, corn tortillas, baked potatoes, fish, black bean dip, etc. All good for you. Good luck and I hope it works for you all like it has for me! : - )

For Ted: I have been diagnosed with uc/proctitis since June of this year (started to have symptoms since January 2011). I was prescribed asacol and took 12/day until about 1 month ago. My symptoms were reduced but my stool was still quite loose and I started to lose weight slowly because I was not absorbing. My weight loss to date is 44 lbs. And I continue to lose a bit. My hair has recently started to fall out and had some constipation about 2 weeks now. My skin looks fine but I don't have much fat.
I am unable to find humic acid. Any recommendations where I could find this in my area. I am taking 1/8 teaspoon magnesium citrate 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. Also I am not clear on how much cinnamon oil and aloe vera to use. I was so bad yesterday that I tried some jojoba oil and a drop of cinnamon oil; helped and had some relief from the gas in rectum.
Thanks very much.

Hi Steve. Thanks very much for the advice. I have googled it and it looks very promising. I will likely give it a go. I have to look into the specifics("natural" vitamin E and "distilled" water). I am currently on Salofalk enemas -- I wonder could I empty one of those enemas and then load that up with a syringe, with the vitamin E mixture..... And also stop my Salofalk enemas?
I am currently still suffering big time -- off work for five months and no end in sight. The GI doctor has me on Prednisone and Imuran. He has tried everything with me, but the only thing I respond to is Prednisone, which is not the answer.
I am not a believer in meds and have researched a natural solution for meds. I am currently working to alkalize my body. I am big into probiotics, as well, switched to VSL3 and am taking four pouches daily of 450 billion units, but I am not seeing any difference, after apprx four weeks or so.

My colon walls are inflammed and have been taking asacol three times a day and when it's a bad flare up (blood in stool and diarrehea) then they put me on steriods. Nothing has seemed to work for a long period of time. I have read over the site about natural remedies and was interested in the Humic Acid results. Have you been tested for celiac's? Your symptoms certainly point in that direction. You should read up on it and see if you think your symptoms match. Just a note, the test for celiac's isn't always totally reliable. Sometimes you have to do an elimination diet and see if it changes your health. Do some research before you see your doctor again. Good luck to you.

Hello Ted, how are you? I'm a 28 yr old male who has ulcerative colitis/proctitis, skin issues on scalp/face, and high mercury levels(scored a 7, when 2 was normal), and a white tongue that will not go away and always seems like something is in my throat. Well, I have read so much on this site and what you have posted. Thank you for it all. I have followed some with little results. So here goes: I recently recieved humic acid in liquid form and it says to take an ounce a day so I have been splitting it up in 3 doses and taking it that way. Its been about 6 days so far and I feel it's ok however where can I buy the kind of Humic you use? Maybe this isn't as potent? My proctitis has been better the last 2-3 weeks. I use a canasa supposity a day, take 2 grams vit C, vit E, 50 mgs Zinc citrate, and boswelli. I also alkalize using a whole lime and 1/2 tsp baking soda (using this for about 2 weeks). My bowel movements have been fine however sometimes it burns and there are alot of holes in my BM (Sorry, just wanted to explain). Tonight, I just added lugol's iodine to my humic acid (2 drops). Also, I dilute the humic acid with some water when I take it. I gonna try to get the cinnamon oil and aloe vera oil, but I definitely need the humic powder? Should I use another combo with the baking soda instead of the lime? Maybe potassium citrate?
I would like to explain why I'm taking the zinc, vit E, vit C.... I have this condition on my scalp and face where my follicles get clogged with keratin/sebum and then it oxidizes and it's preventing my beard hair from growing in some spots like the root is dead. It gets dry and oily at the same time (like it is compensating), itchy and when I get a haircut there are white little hard balls everywhere (assuming it's keratin/sebum). My hair is so rough and the sebum just wont stop and it's really weird. I do get some cyst, but I feel the zinc has helped with that but only that, not the oily, dry, rough, patches with keratin plugs. And lastly, I do have sinus problems where there is always mucous in my nose.
Thanks for reading and hopefully you can help me out! Take Care!
Humic Acid

Ted: I have been researching to take Humic Acid for my UC, however I've been finding a lot of Humic Acid in tablet form. From reading what you and others have been posting it seems as though you are taking Humic Acid in a liquid state. I was wondering does it make a difference to take it in tablet form? or is Liquid form best for UC? And if liquid form is better, would you be able to recommend a provider of it? I am unable to find it in liquid form. Thanks for all the help and best wishes! Rick

Humic acid in liquid form is the best. The stuff I was taking is called Master Detox. I was taking 2ozs - 4 times per day at one point but now take it 3 times per day. Within 2 days I was feeling better, within 7 days I was seeing very little blood and within 29 days I actually had a somewhat solid BM. However, it has not as yet resolved all of my Diarrhea.
