I suddenly had very bad itching and discomfort in the vaginal area. My GYN gave me Estriadol Suppositories.

I am 69 and way past Menopause. There was no discharge, and my GYN couldn't really get in due to dryness, but she said come back after daily doses for 3 months. They didn't help, and matters got worse.

So I turned to EC. Tried the Coconut Oil which gave immediate relief, but temporary.

This morning I tried the Honey and it seemed to make it worse, but I waited it out.. After about 15 minutes, I felt fine. Hope this lasts!!!

Thanks to all for your help.

I tried virgin coconut oil and got some relief at first. Then I tried honey. It worked much better and the itch is almost completely gone after 2 days of use. I applied it once a day in the morning after a shower. I also used a pantiliner to protect my underwear.

I, too, take honey every day for allergies. I've had an itch for about a week. I didn't want to take the OTC stuff; it seems so extreme and too strong. So, I used honey as a topical ointment (so to speak). The itching, which was more annoying than serious, stopped almost immediately. I'll keep using it throughout the day and report back if it ultimately stops working.

Recently I have had problems with vaginal itching. I have not been tested yet so I'm not sure exactly what it is but I was on Earth Clinic looking for something to relieve the itching until I get diagnosed. The itching was so bad two nights ago that I could not sleep and was desperate to find something that would take the itch away. That night I tried Lidocaine cream which kind of worked but only very short term and only lessened the itch some.

Then yesterday I tried unpasteurised honey. I use locally produced unpasteurized honey as a cure for my allergies to cats and is worked wonders so I though I would try it out on this. I know that honey has a strong antibacterial as well as healing qualities so it just made sense to try it. At first it stung because I am quite sore down there but it wasn't as bad as the Lidocaine cream and after about 5 or so min of discomfort it stopped stinging and the itch started going away!!! I applied honey to a tampon and inserted it. I also applied honey all over where ever it was itchy. I left the tampon in for several hours and then reapplied a generous amount of honey after removing the tampon and just before going to bed. I had no itching while I was trying to sleep last night and today is much improved!! I will reapply honey again today and probably continue in the hopes of killing or at the very least relieving the itching of whatever is going on down there. Hope this is helpful!

(If anyone is interested I eat a Tablespoon or two of this honey every day and it completely got rid of my allergies to cats. I live with 7 cats and used to take reactin every day to control my allergies but I found that I was getting headaches from it. After using the honey for about a week I didn't need the reactin anymore. It's amazing!! And my allergies are quite severe. I am the kind that my eyes run and swell up and I sneeze uncontrollably etc.)
