The honey worked fabulously for me! After constant vomitting and diarrhea for over 8 hours I slowly sucked on a large tablespoon of raw honey, went back to sleep and haven't had symptoms since. I have been able to keep down water and been sipping on peppermint tea. What a fabulous site and such a lovely remedy! Thanks!

Black Tea With Honey

My roommate woke up at 4:30 in the morning and began vomiting, which lasted for hours. I bought her some raw honey and black tea. I don't know if it was the honey, the tea, or both together, but she hasn't thrown up since and her stomach feels much better. She still has horrible body aches and can't leave bed yet, but the honey and the tea definitely made her stomach feel better. Thanks for all of the posts!

This is an absolute keeper! After violently vomiting for 6 hours yesterday, I finally researched home remedies for my husband and came across this. He was quite hesitant with the onion juice, but I assured him that I thoroughly researched it and it'll work. Needless to say, within an hour he stopped vomiting and was actually able to get a whole nights' sleep (again, after violently vomiting from 9am-6pm last night). We're still not sure what made him sick (as I ate the same thing he did the day before), but will definitely refer this remedy to anyone who has this happen. Thank you sooo much!!

Well...where do I start? First of all, please note that I am a huge believer in the benefits of ACV for some ailments. However, in prevention of the stomach "flu"...no way. I have been habitual user of ACV for the last six months. However, I just experienced the WORST flu ever! Out of my family of four, I had the most extreme symptoms. And in fact while I was vomiting, I thought I might die from the acid burning feeling traveling up my esphogus. I am laying off the ACV for now. If it works for you..great. Not for this gal anymore!

My daughter was throwing up and could not even keep water down. I made her some black tea and added a teaspoon on raw German honey to it. She has been sipping it and the vomiting has stopped. She was throwing up so bad that nothing was coming up at all. She is also telling me that she feels so much better. I am so glad that I found this site!!!!!

Regarding the black tea for vomiting and nausea, I had a case of stomach flu that had me throwing up for four days. I couldn't stop and had the dry heaves. A friend told me to take regular tea bags (not black) and steep three of them in one cup of boiling water and sip it. It was very bitter, but it worked like a charm, and I didn't vomit after my first cup. Tea has a complicated chemistry, and some of the chemicals in tea relax the muscles and nerves.

When I start vomiting, it usually takes over 24 hours to go away. I have the dry heaves and then stomach bile that comes up and its a truly horrible experience. I tried the black tea with a spoonful of honey last night, and it worked!! It was pretty rough going down, but well worth it. I used 2 large tea bags in just a cup of water and a teaspoon of honey. This is the only thing that has ever stopped my vomiting other than phenegren.

Apple cider vinegar cures the flu....When I had the flu growing up my Mother always had me drink a tea she made from 2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar 2 Tablespoons Honey and 6oz hot water. It would immediately stop vomitting and help with diarrhea and also helped with a fever... The honey also relaxes stomach muscles and helps with your digestive track along with all the wonderfull things the ACV does.... As a child I didn't really appreciate the taste of this tea my Mother made, but as an adult it tastes pretty good. I swear by it now!!

I tried 2 peppermint tea bags with a chunk of ginger, 1 tsp cinnamon powder, 1/2 tsp of clove powder and I tried cutting a small lime and adding salt and pepper and it worked after 24 hours of illness and not being able to eat anything I felt better instantly.
Thank you!

Hi, my grandma used to make us drink strong black tea each time we had the flu, as it would stop vomiting and help settle the stomach. I have tried it with green tea as well and it works the same, and usually you don't need more than a few sips before it starts working. Now I don't even wait for the vomiting to start--I go straight for the tea upon first symptoms of the flu.

I have also used this remedy for severe menstrual cramps and diahrrea and those times when painful gas gets in the way of elimination. One time I even tried it for a headache and it went away. Works wonders!

Cut a lemon or /lime into halves or slices, sprinkle about 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon of salt and same amount of black pepper. roast/ oven bake/direct on gas fire/ barbecue/ cover it and microwave for 40 seconds, salt and pepper side on top till bubbley juice comes out. Let it cool down but don't let it go completely cold, it should be hot. Suck with the pulp direct from the lemon slices/halves as the peel has secreted some juices that you need. Same method can be used with sour oranges or tangerines.

This recipe came from my mum who used it on all her kids as natural alternative which would not give any side effect, to cure headaches, migrains, cough and colds, flu, as well as when someone feels sick as if they want to vomit. This is a ideal alternative medicine for diabetics and ideal for everyone as you don't have to go shopping, everything you'll have in your home when you have any of these problems. All of us brothers and sisters have been using this all these years, may be it might help someone who wants to try natural alternatives which would not give them any side effects especially if they are diabetics.

Parker, I can give my experience with some of these remedies. A couple of years ago I decided to commit some of them to memory to try the next time I was plagued with stomach troubles.

On one occasion I woke up with a terribly upset stomach. I remembered ACV and I quickly swallowed 2 tablespoons of it. Five minutes later I threw up, so negative on the ACV. I decided that I would not give up, though, and used some other remedies I read about here.

I drank hot black tea and ate spoonfuls of raw honey alternately every couple of hours throughout the day, and I did not throw up again. What is significant about this? Not once can I remember a time, going all the way back to my childhood, that I vomited only one time. My pattern has always been that I will vomit once and then approximately two hours later I will have a second bout. The black tea and honey prevented the second bout.

Since then there have been other times when I had that same horrific feeling of impending doom, and I immediately downed some raw honey, and then brewed some black tea as quickly as I could. I haven't had any problems since.

Peach Syrup

I was doing a Google search and came across this ingenius post! SO GLAD to see someone confirm it. When I talked to my doctor about waves of nausea (likely caused by combo of nerves, stress, and newly introduced Rx), the DOCTOR said, try some syrup from canned peaches. I was really surprised, but hey, I thought - I got nothin to lose here, except some of my guts! So, I have tried it, and so far, so good! ALSO -- there is always the excellent pharmacy remedy called E------l. It is a sugary tasting syrup, not all that pleasant, but it WORKS. I have always known this, since I was a kid.

NEA Unfortunately this remedy did not work for me or my daughter. We both had been vomiting for about 5 hours when I decided to look up ways to stay hydrated and came across this site. I brewed two black tea bags in one cup of water for about 7 minutes till very dark. We each took a few sips for a little while then tried to rest. Both of us continued to have stomach cramps and while I have not vomited again I still feel like I may, and my daughter has continued to vomit.

I had been vomiting for a good 5 hours every 10-15. My mom called my grandmother and she said that if you stir all the bubbles out of the glass of coke it will settle your stomach. Only take 1 or 2 sips at first. I worked like a charm for me :)

E.C.'s onion juice remedy worked for me! I got what I assume to be food poisoning from sushi and couldn't stop vomiting. I would vomit every 20 minutes for over 4 hours. Finally, my boyfriend was looking up remedies to stop it and he found this one so he went out and got the simple ingredients and it worked! He had to force me to take it because I was so nauseous but I'm glad he did! Within in minutes I felt better! It burned really bad going down but it was worth it. I was good for another couple of hours when I started to feel like vomiting again, so he made me some more, I took it and went to bed. Great remedy!!!

Thank you!

This remedy worked like magic on 14 year old daughter. She vomitted several times. I tried giving here activated carbon with water, but she vomited it out after 5 to 10 minutes. Then I read your remedy of onion juice and tea. She drank it, and her vomitting stopped. I also read from another web site that plain water induces vomiting. So we should also refrain from drinking plain water, but drink tea instead.

Thank you!

Pediatrician always tells us wait 8 hrs minimum after our child's first vomit event due to stomach flu or virus (usually caught from school). Once, after 2 days vomitting, fever spikes and the Pediatric Nurse casually says 'oh, just wait another 8-12 hours to start BRATS' (aka bread, rice, applejuice, toast, white/clear soda), we couldn't take anymore of seeing our child so weak. Mom's old recipe of a taste of honey, stopped vomits right away. Soda-pop is always way too rich, can't keep it down. For child we give honey, then honey in hot water with a tiny pinch apple pie spices as other blogger mentions in this page - cinnamon, nutmeg, etc. For adult, we use same or hubby likes honey in hot water with 'chicken soup herbs' - I use parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme, sweet basil, or thinned chicken broth (same). Works great now, and don't get fever-bouts or dehydrated or weak like Dr's orders.

Correction:

It's BRATT diet Bananas - Rice - Apple - Toast - Tea. You should never give soda for vomiting and everything in the BRATT diet should be closest to it's purest form with no additives, even salt and sugar, so plain cooked rice, plain toast with no butter, 100% juice, etc. I can attest to the fact that it works very well with diahrrea but Ive never heard of using it for vomiting.

My 6yo has been throwing up since midnight and it is now 8:02 am, she's thrown up 7 times and it's now just bile. I will try the BRATT diet and if ti DOESN'T work I'll write back. :)

I'm so glad I found this site!! Woke up at 7:00 this morning with terrible stomach cramps and vomiting. The pharmacist recommended Cola Syrup to stop the nausea, but she didn't have anything for the vomiting. Once I found the website, I decided to settle on the black tea. I just brewed three bags of tea in a 12oz cup nice and strong and sipped it untill it was gone. The bitterness really didn't bother me at all. Shortly after finishing the tea, I fell asleep and woke up at noon feeling no stomach upset. It's wonderful! I recommend this to everyone.

Rice

Rice is the best way to stop throwing up. No other remedy is as simple and absolutely effective as this one.

Rinse around 4 tbsp of rise and bring to boil with 2 cups of water. Add water if the rice becomes too dry. Drink the rice water at first very slowly, otherwise make your stomach turn again. Rice is very effective for this because it is packed with electrolytes, which regulate are responsible for regulating your stomach. If no rice is available, Gatorade or any other water with electrolytes will work, however it will be relatively heavier for your sensitive stomach to take.

Above all soothe your stomach, do not feed it dramatic, heavy elements or it will turn again, remember, there is a reason why it got to this point in the first place!

I agree with this completely. My husband just had some serious stomach issues. He normally does not vomit in any way, but on the extreme rare occasion it is never good. So this time I had just bought Activated Charcoal just to get rid of toxins and I thought it might work for this. I looked it up on this website and saw that it would work, so I gave him two capsules of Activated Charcoal. He didn't vomit or have any more diarrea, he was doing both and feeling a lot of stomach pain before I gave it to him. He didn't feel purfect afterwards, but he did stop vomiting and diarrea. By the next day he was feeling fine.

For Vomiting it works very fast, put a teasponn full in juice, let it sink to the bottom before mixing and drink. My daughter has various reactions to Chemo Drugs and Charcoal has been a life saver.

Also make sure you stay near the toilet or have your sick bag handy, Charcoal Vomit is terrible, it may take up to 3 doses of Charcoal before you can keep it down but it is very effective and will get rid of the Nausea at the same time.

Thanx for that.... I've been throwing up on and off for nearly 24 hours... I am desperately looking for something to make me stop.. And I am going to try this peach syrup; just hope it stays down...

Peach Syrup
Posted by Theresa (Mpls., Mn) on 10/21/2013

Hey Joanne!

If the peach syrup doesn't stay down, you might consider the homeopathic remedy Nux Vomica. Try the 30C potency - 3 pills after each episode. Ideally you do not handle the pills directly - just tip them from the bottle into your mouth/under your tongue. You may need 3-4 doses in about an hours time.
