Apple cider vinegar cures the flu....When I had the flu growing up my Mother always had me drink a tea she made from 2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar 2 Tablespoons Honey and 6oz hot water. It would immediately stop vomitting and help with diarrhea and also helped with a fever... The honey also relaxes stomach muscles and helps with your digestive track along with all the wonderfull things the ACV does.... As a child I didn't really appreciate the taste of this tea my Mother made, but as an adult it tastes pretty good. I swear by it now!!
Water to Induce Vomiting

When your vomiting, a lot of people think that they should drink a lot of water to replenish the body....BIG mistake! All you will do is vomit more. Drinking Gatoraid or something like it will stay down.
When your child is sick though, and you KNOW they need to throw up, give them a cup of water. It does the trick for my kids who will do every thing in their power not to throw up! PS be smarter than me and have that bucket ready! lol~ donna

I've had a stomach bug for the last couple of days, feeling worse today. I took pepto bismo, did nothing. I tried the onion juice and can finally keep down liquids, even feeling hunger. Very thankful for this remedy!

Diarrhea (ailment) and Cinnamon (cure): My boyfriend had a stomach virus and was in awful pain. He was throwing up and using the bathroom around every 5-10 minutes. It was to the point where he had nothing left to expell but water and bile. I finally convinced him to drink a tea mix I made. I used- 1 cinnamon stick, broken up with a scissor a big pinch of ground ginger pinch of ground mustard a pinch of ground cloves (or 2 whole) I let it steep from boiling to drinkable temperature. He started getting better almost instantaneously. It stopped not only the diarrhea, but also the throwing up and the incredible pain. I never saw anything work so fast!

I had read that ACV helped with food poisoning (luckily haven't needed to test that!) and wondered if it would help with stomach flu. In February my daughter came home from school vomiting one day and I started to feel nauseous myself 2 days later. I immediately took 1 teaspoon ACV in as little water as I could tolerate and better better. Five minutes later the nausea came back and I took more ACV. This sequence went on for an hour or two and then the nausea was gone and I didn't vomit at all!! I'd like to add that when my daughter was 2 years old, she was having a temper tantrum at my mother-in-law's house (in a farming village in northern Greece) and an elderly neighbour tried to give her some vinegar in water to drink to cure her of the "evil eye" which they believe in. My daughter just pushed the cup away so we couldn't test the theory!! Thanks for all your info!

I read Dr. D.C. Jarvis's book about folk medicine around 1960 and began to give my children apple cider vinegar whenever they got the stomach flu. It always worked. I believe he was the one who said that the vinegar changed the ph balance in the intestinal tract so that the virus couldn't live and reproduce.

I have been using Apple Cider Vinegar now since religiously reading article on your site almost a year now. My whole family recently came down with stomach flu and myself, and my son age 5 who loves vinegar drank a spoonfull of ACV every few hours and overcame the illness within 24 hours. I did not vomit. my son only vomited once, that was before he took the ACV then he made an instant recovery. My husband and daughter who refused to take it and thought I was mad suffered for days with crippling stomach pains and unable to keep any food down...
Thank god for your site wish I knew about it along time ago. It could have saved me so much illness.

Black Tea

Hi, my grandma used to make us drink strong black tea each time we had the flu, as it would stop vomiting and help settle the stomach. I have tried it with green tea as well and it works the same, and usually you don't need more than a few sips before it starts working. Now I don't even wait for the vomiting to start--I go straight for the tea upon first symptoms of the flu.
I have also used this remedy for severe menstrual cramps and diahrrea and those times when painful gas gets in the way of elimination. One time I even tried it for a headache and it went away. Works wonders!

a slightly rounded tablespoon of citric acid dissolved in a tall glass of luke warm milk taken orally whilst head tilted back. Cures severe vomiting. It really really works. This home remedy has been passed through my family for generations and now I think it's time to pass it on to other families.

Cut a lemon or /lime into halves or slices, sprinkle about 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon of salt and same amount of black pepper. roast/ oven bake/direct on gas fire/ barbecue/ cover it and microwave for 40 seconds, salt and pepper side on top till bubbley juice comes out. Let it cool down but don't let it go completely cold, it should be hot. Suck with the pulp direct from the lemon slices/halves as the peel has secreted some juices that you need. Same method can be used with sour oranges or tangerines.
This recipe came from my mum who used it on all her kids as natural alternative which would not give any side effect, to cure headaches, migrains, cough and colds, flu, as well as when someone feels sick as if they want to vomit. This is a ideal alternative medicine for diabetics and ideal for everyone as you don't have to go shopping, everything you'll have in your home when you have any of these problems. All of us brothers and sisters have been using this all these years, may be it might help someone who wants to try natural alternatives which would not give them any side effects especially if they are diabetics.

A cold, wet compress layed across the throat will dramatically reduce or eliminate nausea. It might even keep you from vomiting if you're on the edge.

I have been using charcoal for approx 14 yrs. In our home it has been used for nausea/vomiting; diarrhea; upset stomach; belching; heart burn; gas; indigestion; poultices over painful areas on different parts of the body; pasty poultice over insect bites..over the stomach in a poultice for fevers.. As a nurse, I highly recommend it to all.
