Okay so I have been suffering from either a yeast infection or bv... havent quiet figured out which one it is. I have the itching so im thinking it is probably a yeast infection. I have tried everything...acv douche, h202 douche, folic acid pills, yogurt, acidiphillous pills, garlic pills, Rephresh, Yeast gaurd. Now im trying the b-comlex 50, nicinamide 100 and liquid b-12. It kind of worked on the first day but now I dont think it is really working. I havent tried the Boric acid inserts bc i dont know where to find the boric acid. Also I was wondering if you can insert the Nicinamide and the B-complex pills into your vagina? If anyone has any remedies that they would like to share with me or any comments this would be very helpful! Thanks!

Hi I would like to thank everyone who has written about apple cider vinegar.

I had a Yeast infection: itching, and burning, around the outside of my vagina. I get the monthly e-mail from (Earth Clinic )and just my luck there is was in my in-box. Clicked on a few remedy's. However, tried ACV. I poured (neat) ACV on a face cloth (enough to cover face cloth in half), and placed it on the vagina for a few minutes. It stings for a little time. I did this, for a couple days. All good now.

Baking Soda

I had 2 bouts of vaginal yeast over 35 years ago. At that time there was no such thing as vaginal creams, etc. My doctor recommended a baking soda douche in the morning and at night (1 T per douche). That was the only thing that relieved the itching. I didn't continue long enough to cure the infection so it came back. This time I used it longer and it has never returned. I used the white vinegar douche years ago too just to stay clean. Never ACV. Hope this helps.

I found that when I switch to organic cotton panties that I stopped having yeast infections. I also started using dye-free, fragrance-free, natural laundry soap and that has helped to.

Yeast infections are so so so so so aggravating but ???? what do you do first and how do you know if the problem is causes by yeast. So many say yeast infections never go away no matter what you do and is a life long problem that you never stop fighting.... why and what is CAUSING the problem to begin with so we don't have to keep fighting all this yeast taking over.......????

Yogurt

I eat around 200 ml of yogurt every night (home-made yogurt), and this keeps yeast infection away. I find that if I miss eating yogurt for a couple of days, a slight odour is back. Key is to eat around 200-300 ml yogurt everyday...this is easy to do as yogurt is delicious and also healthy.

Boric Acid

I used to take antibiotics orally for 3 years as part of an acne regimen. Now when I need antibiotics, they don't work for me. I came back from a 4 month trip to the carribean with a raging yeast infection that nothing would help. I also had a kidney infection at one point and everyone refused to see a connection. With the help of doctors who actually listen, I found a plan that WORKS.

First, birth control contributes to yeast. If you take it, get off of it, at least for a few months. Antibiotics will not work for yeast! Yeast is fungal, antibiotics kill bacteria, not fungi, and there is a huge difference. Maintaining a diet that is high in vegetables and low in or void of bread and sugar. Yeast survive on what you put into your body. They looove sugar and bread. This includes alcohol, too. Alcohol turns into sugar... Finally, BORIC ACID capsules saved my live! By maintaining a yeast free-sugar free diet and using boric acid vaginal suppositories for 2 months, I am 95% clear. Talk to a doctor about using boric acid. It is safe, natural, and won't affect the balance of your body's natural good bacteria.

Fixing this problem is about restoring a balance of healthy bacteria in your body, not killing all of them with antibiotics. I took 4 rounds of antibiotics for treatment and it only made my symptoms hide for months! If you are headstrong and willing to get rid of this forever, change your diet and use boric acid!

WORKED TEMPORARILY

Now, Ive been suffering from this for a while now. At first i was not quite sure what i had. Someone told me it must be a yeast infection. so i went to the store and bought creams to treat it. No good. Then also i read here that someone used plain yogurt to treat it. so i tried it and for the first time in many years no odor no more anything. For one day i felt awesome in that area. now this was not for long. it came back! i was shocked and a little upset. it's not as strong as before but its still there and its quite embarrassing with my boyfriend and all. anyone care to help?

This is in response to Niese from Houston, TX I have a similar story to yours. I've had chronic yeast infections that was treated with diflucan. I've recently been diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis from e-coli. Do you know why you got BV? I'm curious if continued use of diflucan can allow certain bacterias to grow? Any information is helpful, thanks!

Apple Cider Vinegar

I truly believe that Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is one of the most precious liquids on this earth. I should make a little altar in my bathroom just for it.

I had a yeast infection since Sept. 27, 2008. I had never had a yeast infection in my life so after 2 weeks of torture & doubt, I went to my doc. She prescribed Gynazole and Nystatin cream. I admit the Gynazole did calm the inflammation but it didn't get rid of the yeast. Nystatin helped in calming the pain.

I had thought the prescriptions would end my yeast infection but soon after I noticed the little white clumps. The yeast refused to go away so I quickly started eating yogurt, inserting yogurt, Monistat-3, Monistat-7, eating acidophilus pills by the dozen, inserting acidophilus powder, drinking water w/acv each night, inserting garlic cloves and eating 3 cloves each night. NOTHING WORKED.

I decided to reach out to science again so I was prescribed 2 mega doses of Diflucan. Those clumps didn't leave.I decided to be brave and try the ACV douche. I was traumatized from the garlic inserts so I didn't want anything as invasive.

Last night I emptied a douche bottle and put 3 teaspoons of ACV (_____s Organic) w/lukewarm tap water. As I showered, I douched and immediately felt some tingling but no pain. I was relieved and squeezed the bottle to the last drop.

I noticed there was no slight itch. Also, later in the evening I noticed there were no clumps. I do feel slightly dry but no odd smells from the vinegar. I intend to continue douching for 2 more nights and 1 morning so I can be sure the infection is completely gone.

Apple Cider Vinegar, Salt, Garlic

I woke up in so much pain Sunday morning, i knew i had a full blown yeast infection. i got on your web site and found out about the apple cider vinager and salt and quickly did as several had stated how to use the viniger. it was wonderful!! i did the douch twice a day and the bath twice a day, i also took 2000 mg of Garlic softgel three times a day, i got better but it didnt go away, this morning, of Tuesday i got up with the itching and burning in three spots that have really been hard to heal, this time i put three or four tea spoons of the acv in the douch bottle and i poked a hole in two of the garlic softgels and put that in the bottle w/ the acv, added warm water and shook it well, the acv dries up the skin so much "down there' but the softgels have soybean oil in them, so that helps that problem. i soaked about 10 min. longer and dried off and poked a hole in two more garlic softgels, i use spring valley from wal mart, i rubbed this stuff into the area and there was instant relief. this is the first time in days i had no meds on my "area" and i have no pain! Thank You!! i will do this until this is gone!!

Honey and Tea Tree Oil

HONEY and Tee tree oil saved me from going outta my mind...after suffering a bout with yeast infection and trying over the counter cures it came back and nothing worked...I was about to go to the doctors for anti biodics which they say is bad when in desperation I did another search on yeast infections.I had tried vinegar, even organic, peroxide and creams from the store but I was in so much misery and could not stand it.....One web page said lather in honey and wait 10 minutes... I waited 15 or more and you could just feel the pain and itch subside... after rinsing you apply tea tree oil and I slept like a baby. It took two applications of honey and needless to say I LOVED HONEY. I would reccomend it highly.

Im 27 and this the first time I ever got a yeast infection. Im very against using medications not even for head aches. I googled this site for a quick natural remedy for the infection. What I did was put the plain yogurt in a plastic glove (the fingers) and put it in the freezer so it can freeze. Once it was completely frozen, I took one of the fingers of frozen yogurt out and inserted it into my v-jay at bed time, and this canceled any mess. It worked like a charm! No more yeast infection or symptoms.....

Rubbing Alcohol

So I get reoccuring Yeast Infections, when i take Antibiotics, when i'm sick, sometimes around my period. Usually I just sit them out and consume lots of yogurt and take some apple cider vinegar. But the itching and burning just kills me, so i got restless and tried something rash. I was in the shower, and i figured what the hell, so i put a capful of some 80% rubbing alcohol on my "lips" and there was a very strong burning sensation, so i rinsed immediately and just as i had regretted it, i noticed the burning and itching were completely gone. the next day it came back a little, so i diluted a capful of rubbing alcohol in about a cup of water and rinsed thoroughly with it and again there was a slight burning sensation, then i rinsed with water and gone again was the itching and burning. So my final advice, just dilute some rubbing alcohol and rinse with it.

An important thing to remember is MALES get Yeast Infections also!! If a woman has a yeast infection it could pass very easily through sexual contact with a partner, And vice-versu. A reason why you might be having reoccurring problems is because after curing it you just receive the infection from your partner again.

Both you and your partner need to be cured of it to stop the infection from reoccurring.

But even so, as hard as these fungal infections are to kill, this is not the only reason for reoccurring infections.

A great free website dedicated to info about yeast infection and NATURAL HOME REMEDIES is:

Garlic

A few days ago I suffered a very bad attack of yeast infection. At first I tried the usual antifungal pessaries from over the counter but of no use. The itching was just intolerable. Then I came upon garlic method while searching on the internet. One of the home remedies sites said garlic cloves if kept in vagina cured yeast infections;dose and duration varied according to the severity of infection. Usually 3-4 cloves strung on a thread kept for 12 hours for 4-5 days was good for a mild infection. However I had a rather full blown infection. I used 5-7 garlic cloves peeled, cut them in half and strung in a thread with a needle. However those who have garlic sensitivity should not cut or nick the clove after peeling it. Also I kept the string inside for 24 hours and put a renewed string immediately after removing the used one. The itching stopped almost immediately and after a period of 9 days of continuous use I was free from it. Hope this helps someone. However I would also like to add that I was sure I had yeast infection. This remedy may not work for other infections of the vagina.

Acidophilus
Posted by Debbie (Queens, NY) on 12/08/2008

This is a question for Niccole from Manhattan, Montana... I have been on the pill for almost ten years. In the last year and 1/2 I have gotten a yeast infection every month after my period. Now it seems that its not going away at all after using diflucan and monistat. I have cut all refined sugar, wheat and limited dairy out of my diet, I drink ACV, take acidophilus and garlic in pill form and nothing works! Its really getting depressing and I dont know what else to do besides come off the pill. Do you think its possible that this is the cause even though I've been on it for almost 10 yrs straight? Also, after 15 years did you experience and side effects from coming off the pill?

Garlic cured yeast infection and sinus infection--on different occasions. The yeast infection while pregnant, just inserted it up before bed and taken out in morning. Sinus infection and coughing phlegm many times, chopped up raw and on a PB sandwich, sucked and chewed on slowly during day too.
