Sometimes called “Stinky Bob,” Herb Robert is an herbal remedy with a pungent, unpleasant odor. Despite its odor, however, the herb is an effective health treatment. The herb has applications that range from treating diarrhea to reducing inflammation.

What is Herb Robert?

An annual plant, Herb Robert typically grows 30 to 40 cm with stems that branch in many directions. The stems generally appear red in color while leaves are green and form in opposite directions at knotted joints on the stem. The plant also possesses a dainty, bright-pink flower. The stems, leaves and flowers are used to make medicine and a variety of herbal treatments.

While little is commonly known about the plant, Herb Robert possesses a variety of purposeful applications. The herb is known as an antioxidant, antiseptic, and antibiotic. The plant also has uses as an adaptogen, antiviral aid, tonic, diuretic and sedative.

Health Benefits of Robert Geranium

The plant possess a variety of active constituents that make it an effective health treatment. The herb contains volatile oil, bitters, tannin, and geraiine. Likewise, the plant contains vitamins A, B, and C as well as the minerals calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, and germanium.

With all of these beneficial substances, Herb Robert is often considered a supreme, therapeutic herb. Robert Geranium is known as one of the most active and most effective immune supporters, which allows the body to better function and fight infection on its own. The herb also functions to oxidize the body, which prevents a wide range of diseases, including cancer, from existing in the body.

These capabilities and others secure the herb as an effective treatment for a variety of conditions. Herb Robert can be used to treat diarrhea, liver and gallbladder problems and inflammation. Likewise, the herb can be used to prevent the formation of stones in the kidney, bladder or gallbladder. The extract of the herb can also be used to treat the progression of bacteria and other viruses in the body.

While it is a lesser known treatment, Herb Robert is an applicable health treatment in a variety of situations. The herb can be used to treat and prevent a wide range of health problems.

Hi, a while ago someone suggested here a cure with geranium essential oil. I am not sure but I believe it was for circulation? One could take the oil, I think and also a bath. I don't know how to search for it and I forgot to save it. Can anyone help? I didn't find it in the remedies....

At the top of the page, in the search... Type in 'geranium essential oil". Or, under 'ailments'... Click on "circulation" or under P... poor circulation.

Thanks, that was it exactly! Somehow I never seem to have much luck with my searches on this site but.... I think that it is me, not the site! I tried remedies (not ailments because I didn't really remember what it was for... ) and the search never seems to work for me because I never seem to get what I am after. Maybe it is better now.... I confess that I didn't try! I have saved it now!

Has anyone experienced benefits from taking Herb Robert? The herb has Geranium, which stimulates oxygen in the body and helps with cancer, tumours and is a good antioxidant.

A lady I know what telling me the other day that she makes a moisturizer for her skin with Geranium and patchouli essential oils, and almond oil.

Robert, Isabell Shipard's book How can I use herbs in my daily life? has 4 pages on Herb Robert. Eating 4-5 leaves a day has been credited with curing cancer. She has a website and newsletter if you want to learn more

I purchased some herb robert from 'Isabel Shipard' who has the herb farm in Queensland. I am taking it with licorice and horsetail to help with my lungs... I have been on it for 5 weeks now and I feel better as my cough has gone... But I am using it more for a preventative.... For cancer
