Apple Cider with mother, diluted 1/3 with refresh.

used for 9 months now, and I started right after eye doctor said my Pterygium is growing back after having it surgically removed. I had my check up at 6 months of using the solution, and the eye doctors photos of my eyes shows no new growth, and actually to me, looked a little better. Its now 9 months later, drops few times a day..and my eyes do feel better, and looks as Pterygium is not growing. I didn't want to report until I felt my study was thorough. I have gotten used to the slight burn of the Apple Cider vinegar, but the relief outweighs that.

This is a reply to Khadija of Belgium;

What I do to save time is that I make my formulation using the 2 used eyedropper prescribed by my opta before. Before anything else, I sterilize it together with the dropper to prevent contamination. I also use forceps in removing them from the pot. I usually wait for a couple of minutes to let it cool off a bit so as not to alter the state of the acv. I then make a mark on the dropper of which I will use in making the 3:1 formulation of Apple Cider Vinegar & distilled water.

I'm now in my 5th month with the Apple Cider Vinegar treatment. Never felt better. The ptrerygium has not only minimized in size but the tissue as well. The water production in my eyes has increased greatly. My left eye which has the pterygium feels so much better. I've never experienced any dry, gritty and burning sensation anymore. I'm still very hopeful that this whole Apple Cider Vinegar treatment will really work.

Dear Khadija,

If it took years for the pterygium to grow, it will also take some time for the ACV to do its work. I first started with the 8:1 (distilled water: acv) formulation cuz I couldn't stand the stinging effect. Then 5:1 after 2 mos and now 3:1. I guess my eyes got used to it cuz it doesn't sting that much anymore. And to tell you the truth, it feels so much much better now. Its been months now since my eyes were red. Pinguecula is the precursor of pterygium. They are very much similar my doctor says.
If you do not have available Apple Cider Vinegar in your area, try to get it online. A liter is really cheap which you could use for a whole year. I hope this helps.

Keep me posted!!!
Best regards....

Timmy

Hi, I mix 1 part organic apple cider vinegar with the mother and mix it with 4 parts of more distilled or demineralised water. I put drops in my eyes throughout the day. If the mix is too strong for your eyes then add more water. I still have my pterygium but my eye feels a lot better and it's not as red as it was before.

Not much improvement but hopeful.

I have just been diagnosed with penguecular in both eyes which has been causing ityness and watery eyes for years. I always thought it was allergies so did the doctor so was treatng it as such. I have been using antihistmine which has had no effect (because it wasn't hayfever! ). Now I know what it is I can better help myself. I read here about ACV so have been using the ACV (with mother) recipe for about three weeks three times a day. Stings like crazy and eyes go a little blood shot for a few seconds. I'm presuming this is bringing nutrients to the eye? I haven't noticed any shrinking yet. When they start to feel a little itchy I put more drops in and it seems to give relief. I'm hopeful it might shrink the pings but just take time so I'll persevere. I will update in a few months.

If your eyes are red, try using vitamin c eyedrops. But make them yourself.

Get a dark glass dropper bottle.

Get pure vitamin c powder.

Mix to 10% with clean water.

Keep in the fridge.

When you put the eyedrops in, it will sting for about 10-20 seconds. After that, your eyes will feel beautifully moisturised. For the first few days you will want to put the eyedrops in several times a day (despite the stinging). Then, when the vit c levels in your occular fluid get fully topped up, you can reduce the amount to once a day or once every couple of days.

If you work at a computer, vit c eyedrops are very beneficial.

Yes. I had my left eye pterigium removed. Horrible surgery! It has healed nice though. The surgeon said I had a gross lack of care for my eyes. I wasn't wearing sunglasses.

Now, I do have one in corner of right eye. Someone said the liver is involved. I have a sort of Wilson's Desease with copper problem.

I have resorted to vinegar in a eye dropper. Castor oil which is really soothing. It has been about a month. I will continue this treatments for as long as it takes along with charcoal and sunglasses.

Every morn and evening I do these, and really watch my diet. Not much junk foods.

Peace to the person who figured this stuff out. And maybe I can avoid another nasty surgery with microscopic stitches, which scratch!!!

Love to all, Ruth

I'm afraid Pterygium is not directly related to UV light but to geoengineerineg airborne pollution. Mind noticing that the exact day or days after airplanes make trails in the sky, eyes start to itch and skin as well. It took me a while to realize there is a clear correlation between the two. I just did because a colleague at work had exactly the same reactions as me, and it often coincided with abnormal sky patterns.

Dear Natalie,

Read your post however you did not mention your dilution of the Apple Cider Vinegar and I cannot say for sure what's the cause of it but I've been using the Apple Cider Vinegar drops now for 3 months and so far it has brought so much relief compared to castor oil drops before and the numerous eyedrops my doctor prescribed to me. I feel like my eye with pterygium is so much normal although its still there and slowly fading. Before the Apple Cider Vinegar concoction, my eye was always red, very sensitive and heavy. If it wasn't working it would have been the other way around, right? On the other hand, I cannot speak for you as we have different physical attributes and maybe the Apple Cider Vinegar doesn't work for everyone.

Dear Sarah,

I would try 1 tablespoon raw apple cider vinegar added to 3 tablespoons of distilled or spring water. Use an eyedropper to drop a few drops into your eye. A straw works if you do not have an eyedropper.

You can also add a teaspoon to a glass of water to take internally once or twice a day to help heal from the inside out.

No dont use tap water. Instead mix 1 tablespoon of raw apple cider vinegar with the "mother" (google it to see what it looks like), with 3 tablespoons of "distilled" water in a dark glass eye dropper bottle. Use 2-3 times a day. Good luck and I wish you the best.

Garrett, I put the drops directly into the eye. It burns like hell, but I've been amazed at how much better my look and feel. The red, gritty feeling is GONE. The pterygiums are still there, not sure I've seen them reduce in size, but I've only been doing it for 12 days. I'm still hopeful!

What ratio water to apple cider vinegar did you use, and for how long? I accidentally discovered that ACV diluted with water got rid of my pink eye which I get every year when spring comes and I get allergies which lead to infections. I was tired of getting torn epithilium in my eye, from aggressive rubbing. Year after year of eye antibiotics also were starting to get old. One time I was broke and couldnt go in to be seen for the eyes. I just randomly diluted ACV with water, about 1/8 ACV to 7/8 water. The urge to scratch went away instantly. After 2 days the eyes had cleared back to normal. So I totally believe you when you say it worked for your pterygia. I have them on both eyes and I am so going to the supermarket to replenish my ACV. Thanks for sharing.

To use apple cider vinegar & water the amounts are: 1 Tsp of ACV & 12 Oz's of Distilled water. I would use organic ACV that has the mother in it. Make sure that you shake the bottle of ACV very thoroughly before measuring out the Tsp. Once you add it to the distiled water mix them together very thoroughly. Hope this helps anyone wanting to know the ratio mixture.

I am also using a diluted ACV treatment, before rising in the morning and last thing before going to sleep at night. It burns like the dickens, but makes lots of tears. There is nothing as soothing to my eyes than my own tears. Nothing in a bottle seems to last or feel just right.

It has receded noticeably. I tried to get a before picture to compare later, but didn't get a clear one. It is still with me and I will continue to do the treatment.

Any idea how long I should continue? It crosses from the inner corner to the color part of my eye, just crossing in.

Apple Cider Vinegar

As long as it is organic and has the 'Mother' in. Then any brand will be ok. You usually have to buy it from the health food shop.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Posted by Kr (Us) on 02/17/2015

Alex: I put the specific name in the original post but per earthclinic's policy the entire name was dashed out. I can tell you it starts with a B and ends with two Gs. Google "ACV with the mother" and I'm sure you'll find it.

Ave M: I believe so. My understanding is that pinguecula and pterygia are the same thing. The difference is that once it grows over the cornea it becomes a pterygia. The good news is that my pterygia has just about receded past the cornea and I will soon be able to tell you if the ACV treatment will remove the pinguecula completely. My method is to buy a .5 oz bottle of generic artificial tears, squeeze out half the bottle, and then syphon in ACV out of a table spoon or bowl until it is full again. I put two drops on my closed eyelids daily and slowly let it seep through then slowly start blinking as I deal with the stinging.

Hi Willie, I have 2 pterygiums one in each eye. I am using the ACV wiht distilled water drops thrice daily. I have been doing this for 7 months. It has helped with the redness and gritty feeling though I still have that clear blob on the coloured part of my eye. When you did this, was the white blob the last to go also for you as still it 's the same size for me.
