If you are dealing with a mild or first-degree burn, first clip away any long hair so that you can see the entire burn, but don't clip to closely to the skin. Cleanse the burnt area using cool water and a mild soap. Dry the area with a soft cloth and apply Aloe Vera to the affected area three to five times per day. (Be sure not to use cotton balls to dry the burn, or to apply any treatments as the cotton fibers may stick to the wound.)
