Deadly result to vaccinations

My 8 yr. old labrdor retriever was a healthy dog unit he received vaccindations for Coronavirus, DHLPP, and Rabies on 10-18-2004. within 14 days of this vaccination "packet" he became listless and very sick. After 8 subsequent visist to the Vet Clinic from 11-01-04 to 02-08-04 he was euthenised on 02-10-04.Further reading and research makes me now believe that his death was suddenly precipitated by the vaccinations given on 10-18-2004.
I hope other animal owners think twice before submitting their pet to the "annual booster shots".

Last summer my dog had her annual check up with the vet. I can't tell you exactly what boosters she got but she did get some. I don't know if I can attribute my dog's symptoms to the vet visit but the problems did come after the visit. Our Golden retriver who was 8 years old at the time began having acccidents in the house both urine and stool, mainly stool. This was happening even when we were home to let her out and at night. Her stool began to look like a big slimey pile of alien birth. This went on for several months then stopped. The vet looked at her, did a stool sample and said he could see nothing wrong with her. I have always wondered if she had a side effect from the boosters or from the heartworm medicine. I changed her food slightly but I don't know if that made the difference or not. Anybody else have these problems?

I took my french bulldog today for his vaccinations. He is over 3 years old now, and has never had a problem with them before. I paid them, and as I was trying to leave my dog wouldn't get up, which is very unusual. He began to foam at the mouth and then started having trouble breathing as the vet tech came over to check him. He couldn't stand up either. He was back to the exam room where the Dr. began to order instructions to her staff. His heart rate had dropped, his vitals were bad, and he was shaking all over. I needed to leave him there a couple hours. He received some type of antihistamine shot and began to get better. By the time I went back to check on him, he was standing, his vital signs were back to normal, but he was a bit listless. Tonight, he is back to normal. The Dr. was very insistent that he needed only the shots that he should get, and he already had all the other shots last year so, he only got the leptospirosis and lyme disease vaccines. The Vet was very on top of things, attentive, and informative. She even discussed what we should look for next year and how it should all be handled, such as, giving an epinephrine shot before vaccinating, not giving the vaccinations at the same time, and weighing the pro's and con's on not vaccinating him at all. I hope this info is helpful to someone, cause if I hadn't taken my time asking questions my dog wouldn't have still been in the hospital when the reaction occured.

To Tink from Springfield, MA (regarding the side effects her french bulldog had during vaccinations) DO NOT, under any circumstances, revaccinate your dog. Your vet is an idiot for even considering such a thing. If your dog had a reaction that severe... the next one will be the killer. Epinephrine is very powerful and causes tachycardia which can cause complication. You do not administer ephinephrine unless you need it for anaphylaxis shock. I have never in my life heard of anyone administering it as an anticipation of anaphylaxis. Usually, the medical advices is to AVOID the things that cause the reaction... not play around with them. Based on the advice your vet gave you, I would report them to higher authorities and make sure your dog gets exempt from any further vaccinations.

My cat died from vaccination side effects..there was nothing wrong with her before having them..4 days after getting the jab she died and was ill straight after the vaccination, went into a coma..in the wild they don't get vaccinations and live longer..we have cancer and heart disease in pets today which we never had before..it is mainly down to vaccinations..my friend's dog also died from cancer, she said because of jabs..we have too many today instead of treating with more remedies..the vets get alot of money for vaccinations..this is their main profit..I have a cat that is 14 and have had a jab and is like a kitten, and also 3 cats that are 12..I assure you they won't be getting any and they go out..

Side effect from Parvo/distemper vaccine

I am very much against vaccinating pets due to the fact that it nearly killed my Papillion four years ago.
I now have a 9-month-old Doberman puppy who is/was full of life and has had no health issues until this past Friday, when she suddenly stopped eating. It is now Easter Sunday, she won't touch her food. Because of all the pressures put on me from regulations requiring that she be vaccinated for groups I wanted to join with her, I decided to get her vaccinated for parvo/distemper. She was vaccinated for Parvo/distemper on 3/26. A week after she developed 103 fever and slept all day long curled up in a ball. Usually, she's full of life and getting into trouble. I am so upset that I gave her the vaccine. She will never receive another booster for the rest of her life. I am praying that she recovers from this.

Get your baby to a holistic vet right away. They can usually treat them with nosodes and possibly stop / reverse the reaction. Also consider switching to a holistic vet, they know how to treat for vaccine reactions.

Cat sick after getting vaccinations

My cat recently received all of his shots. The next day he began to vomit and had diarrehea. This lasted two days, he then seemed to get better and was normal for two days, then he began to vomit again. This time he stopped eating and he now is not moving his bowels at all. He doesn't seem to be in any pain, even if I push on his abdomen, but he does seem to be losing weight from not eating. He continues to do all other normal activities. I don't know if I should give it a few more days, or take him to the Veterinarian.

Get some activated charcoal tablets and give 1 tablet every day 2hrs before/after eating for a week or two. It pulls the toxins out. Make sure he gets water in him though or it will constipate him. God bless.

My 2 year old cat who I believe to be Maine Coon, just received his annual shots yesterday and today would not come down to eat his food.

This is a very playful cat full of fun and energy and now he looks very punky, has diarrhea and appears to be vomiting. He is also very lethargic and not feeling well.

I am looking for similar posts and wondering what the remedy may be to get him back on his feet. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

My Daisy, my 7 year old doberman pinscher, was very active and healthy running & jumping, then May 30, 2009 she woke up paralyzed on the rear end. On April 20, 2009 she was vacinated for rabies, DHLPP plus Lyme and deworm pyrantel pamoate. She was so very sick. She drank some water and ate very little on May 30. My vet came over on May 30 and gave her a steroid shot and an inflammation shot, took her blood, put frontline on her to kill any infected ticks and said she may have tick disease, so it wait and see how she would do in the next week(the blood he didn't test, after I told him too because her blood went bad, his wife said) She had no control over her bowels, etc. The next day she was completely paralyzed. Then the next day she went back to weakness and rear end paralyzed. For the next two weeks she ate and drank some and I lifted her rear end and gave her a little exercise and took her outside to go to the bathroom. She would drag her rearend around outside after for a little exercise. After two weeks she wasn't any better so I took her to a vet who does accupunture on June 16, 2009. He took xrays, no injury, urine test. After he treated her with accupunture she started trying to walk two days later. She was on Doxycycline for 30 days and had 6 accupunture treatments, from June to October. After the second accupunture treatment she was starting to walk, but wobbly and after the 4 I didn't have to hold her rear end up anymore!! So with my nursing and therapy care I gave my best friend, today, March 18, 2010, she is a miracle, she is running and trying to jump again, but still has to really concentrate at doing certain tasks.

My accupunture vet states the vaccinations could have caused this nervous/neurological system disease to my Daisy, my doberman!

PLEASE advise any advice or opinion you may have to me ASAP! THANKS.

If you look up what is in vaccines you will find they contain a cocktail of toxic things and many animals and people have had bad and lasting side effects, have even died from them. Get activated charcoal tablets and give a few(dosage dependant on weight) every day for a week or two after any vaccine, 2hrs before or after eating. It should help pull the toxins out. Make sure to drink/provide lots of water and take fiber.

I'm a breeder of Chihuahuas and have been giving my own shots for over 9 yrs and have never had a bad reaction until now. I gave my 3 litters of 8 week old puppies shots and 4 to my 15 week old. A puppy left me on Friday [ 6 days after shot} and was fine , went to vet & checked out fine next AM I get a call and puppy is about dead. They took to emergency vet and she tested positive for parvo I called emergency vet and told them I gave shot on the 25th and he was at vet day before and was fine could this be a reaction to the shot and could she test positive due to shot only 6 days earlier. She said no to all. Well against me begging the new owner & vet they put this puppy to sleep without trying to save. But now I knew I was in for it at my shop. . . Sat 6 days after shot all were good. Sunday 7th day first one showed signs. His eyes looked sad to me, I started on fluids & antibiotics then took to vet on Monday. After 5 days pup died, Monday had two more get sick. Under vets supervision I treated at home. Well did not stop there- every pup I gave the shot to got sick, and the signs were nothing like you hear about- no bloody stool, no smell , no diarrhea , and only 3 threw up. I kept a close eye on them and when I noticed their eyes look sad they were started on treatments. I saved 2 little 2lb babies and feel very lucky, I lost 7 and no 2 were alike as far as when or how they passed. I think two passed from heart failure, 2 just did not have the will to survive. The 2 that made it , took them 12 days to come around after laying down for that many days. I called the co. where shots were made and they made a report & have a case #. It was turned in to keep track of the vet there who also said "highly unlikely" and she took down all the symptoms etc from me. And asked did they run a fever. No not one did. My vet thinks I had bought a bad batch of shots and I feel the same. I just want other breeders NOT to buy the shots from the batch that I have. This was very heartbreaking and costly for me. Not sure if I can post the batch # here or the co. that made them. I will never give my puppies a 5-way CV again!

My 7yr old Golden Retriever was given her shots recently and that evening was not looking or acting like her normal self. Within 2 days started vomiting. The vet treated her for pancreatitis after blood work came back indicating amylase was off. After 1 month my dog began twitching and having muscle spasms. Her joints started giving out. SHe could not climb the stairs without assistance. The vet said the dog was reacting as if she was poisoned. The only thing that could have poisoned her was the vaccinations since this pet is not near anything else that could poison her. She is a housepet that does not go anywhere without me, yet the vet will not even consider the poisoning could have been caused by the vaccinations. This is very frustrating as my dog almost died. I will never have my pet vaccinated again and will find a new alternative medicine vet. Luckily my pet was healthy enough to make if through this ordeal and is now back to her old self. To add insult to injury, I paid this vet over $2000.00 after the vaccinations to treat the problem most likely caused by the vaccinations!

Hey Neighbor :-).

Go holistic. I lost my baby boy to over vaccination (everything at once including rabies) which compromised his immune system, he got lymes and then about 9 months later k9 lymphoma. He had reactions from vaccines since he got the ones from the vet not the breeder. Rash on belly, diahrea, itchy skin, feet biting, head shaking and cronic ear infections till a few months before we let him go. This was over the course of just 4 years. We had to let him go 3 weeks past his 4th birthday.

Keep records of all reactions, have his records flagged. You may want to consider getting a special dog tag for this reason, just like diabetics. No more boosters are needed. Also NJ has an rabies exception law if the pet is unhealthy that they can be excused from vaccines but the vet needs to write a letter so you can get your pet licensed.

Vaccination Side Effects

Our beautiful and well loved Doberman, Benson, had his annual health check and booster (Vanguard) on 11th September 2009 and after two weeks developed lumps which turned out to be Lymphoma. We sadly put him to sleep in January 2010. There was no sign of any lumps prior to his booster and he was an active healthy dog prior to this and after reading articles about annual vaccinations and their side effects it saddens us even further that the booster may have triggered the illness. We have therefore decided that we will not continue with annual boosters for our other dog.

I took my senior cat Riley in for routine exam and vaccinations. He is 15 yrs old and had not been vaccinated in a few yrs. After bringing him home, he seemed a little off (sleeping, lethargic, uninterested in play, food, treats). This has happened to my cats previously, but they always come around in a day or so. This time, Riley continued to be lethargic and would stare at the floor. He would also itch and lick his paws. His appetite did come back. A few days later, I noticed that he fell to one side in my kitchen. I picked him up and sat on the couch. In a few minutes, he seemed to get his bearings and was ok. He had a few more "episodes" over the next several days. I called the vet because I thought it may be an adverse reaction to the rabies vaccine. My husband thought I was overreacting, so I tried not to make too much of it. Thought Riley would get better on his own. Two weeks after the vaccination he was not getting any better so I took him back to the vet. A CBC was done and found that Riley is now slightly anemic (his blood work before the shot was perfectly fine) . Vet feels Riley's immune system may be haywire causing an auto-immune issue (something like IMHA). Vet put him on prednisone tabs to counteract the symptoms. Riley seems to be getting better, no stumbling or balance issues for two days now. He has continued to itch like crazy and licks his paws often. This is something that he did not do before the vaccine. I have another cat at home and will never get her vaccinated after seeing what it caused with my Riley. Have you heard of this before? Do you know what I can do to treat the itching and paw licking or is this a condition Riley may have for the rest of his life.
