I recently found this and am trying it and I love it! I plan to start a second batch soon because the first batch will be gone very quickly! It's called Fire Cider. It is effective, easy to make and tasty, though not for the weak of heart. Make a batch before the cold season starts.

FIRE CIDER!
1 Quart AC vinegar
1/4 cup grated fresh horseradish
1 onion, chopped
1 head garlic, peeled & chopped
2 tablespoons powdered turmeric
1 cup honey
cayenne pepper, to taste

1. In a glass or stainless steel sauce pan heat vinegar on the stove to where it is warm, but not boiling.
2. Fill a clean glass jar with horseradish, onion, garlic, turmeric, and a pinch or two of Cayenne pepper.
3. Pour in the warmed vinegar and cap with an acid-proof lid.
4. Store in a warm place 3 to 4 weeks; shaking a few times a week.
5. Strain mixture and add enough honey to suit your taste.
6. Rebottle fire cider and refrigerate.
7. At the first sign of a cold take 1 to 2 tablespoons every 2 to 3 hours until your symptoms subside.

I use a mason jar and put wax paper on top before putting the lid on.

With ACV, taking 6 tablespoons a day, 3 in the morning, 3 in the evening, it cleared my skin up completely within less than a few days, but the smell of it makes me so woozy, and it burns my throat and stomach. I take it anyway, but I just add a little bit of orange juice and take it like a shot of alchohol, and quickly drink more orange juice. I just wanted to know it thats an acceptable way to take my ACV.

I have been using ACV for a couple of months now. I started off with one Tbls in a glass of cold water. Now I am using 2 Tbls of ACV, 2Tbls Raw Honey, 1/4 tsp of baking soda, 1/2 tsp of Cayenne Pepper. I mix the ingrediants in a large mug, add hot water from a tea pot. This concoction tastes pretty good, is not very spicy (the pepper is hardly noticable). I have had more energy, felt better, sleep MUCH better. And like others I have noticed my dreams to be very vivid & clear.

I have also been taking acv (apple cider vinegar) and discovered if I put 1 Tblspn in 4oz water and put in a dropper full of stevia extract, it is much easier to drink. In 2 weeks my fasting glucose went from 115 to 92 and after meals from 163 to <120.

I only drink Organic ACV because it is raw and unfiltered. It has a recipe on the bottle for ACV Bracer to start the day with a wake -up vinegar bracer. 1-2tsp of ACV, 1tsp of honey, water' but never hot water because hot water de-activates enzymes. Some one posted a recipe using ACV with warm water. Who is correct "Solana Gold posted oVirtues of Vinegar or the reader feedback posted on 08/30/2007? I personally takes the Bracer recipe with no water, and it is truly a pick-me-upper with no jitters. ERC of Wichta, Kansas.

I think ACV could do just as well in iced tea. Maybe after your tea (and raspberry, cinnamon apple, and many other herbal teas taste good iced) can be cooled in the fridge, and then the ACV can be added before drinking. That way the enzymes aren't killed.

I like to use stevia to sweeten my ACV drink. It can be purchaced in many different flavors but a few drops of valencia orange works for me. I'm on a no sugar program so honey is out of the question.

re: Switchell -- I recall as a youth one of my summer jobs to make a few bucks working in a stone quarry. It was hot work. My buddy's mom would mix up a jug of water, acv, honey and a bit of ginger and boy did that taste good on a hot day!

Many years later I remembered how good it made me feel. I had suffered for 3 years with severe pain in my left shoulder. Dressing myself and even driving my car was an event. Spending one season (2005) as a flagman at Watkins Glenn International Speedway really hurt, and holding out a double yellow flag seemed like an eternity of pain. 2 weeks after takng ACV my pain was gone and I now have full mobility although a click is still there, I feel no pain! Being a FlyFisherman I have spread the word on 2 forums. Hundreds have read my post and many have PM'd me. I know this worked for me and it will for you too!

One of the best remedies for colds, and to boost your immune system is apple cider vinegar, chopped garlic, honey, and warm water. Mix all the these ingredients together and drink it. Instantly you will feel better. This recipe is from my Serbian grandmother. I have been drinking since I can remember, and I have never taken any medication for colds.

Hey Maree!!! I also drink the apple vinegar with apple juice, however, regular apple juice has a good 42 g of sugar!! Even if you go with "lite", which has splenda added, uh oh.. thats not good either. Soo...I buy Gerber's Baby Apple Juice which has only 13 g of sugar. This is the best route so far!

That amount of sugar is only for 4oz of the Gerber Baby Apple Juice (so it's about 26g sugar per 8z). Simply brand Apple Juice is 28g per 8oz, however, it is NOT made from concentrate. It is cold pressed 100% Apple Juice. I would drink that over the Gerber Baby (Fake) Apple Juice.

Hi I have just begun to use ACV for weightloss and thought I would share this delicious tip. I mix the 2 tablespoons og ACV with raspberry tea and add raspberry seltzer water. The taste is delicious and is much like a no calorie wine spritzer.

I just mixed:

* a cup of hot water
* two tablespoons of ACV
* a little cinnamon
* a little honey

then drank it like a tea, and it tastes great-- (i also tried maple syrup, which works okay, but i don't think it's as effective as the honey.)

I take apple cider vinegar as a digestive aid (with EXCELLENT results). I mix 2 TBLS of Raw Organic ACV with 4oz of Unfiltered Organic Apple Juice and 4 oz of pure bottled water. To avoid DENTAL problems, I simply drink the ACV with a STRAW. To restore the ph in my mouth, I rinse and/or brush with baking soda and water.

I have been doing this for about a month now and I love it. It has increased my energy and helped my mood. I feel much more pep when I use it. I have found the perfect formula for me:, it tastes like an apple soda.

Stella's Formula

8oz Water
2 Tbsp ACV
1/4 Tsp baking soda
1 Pack stevia

In case you are not familiar with stevia, it is a natural herb sweetner. It makes the Apple Cider Vinegar taste delicous and it does not add any calories! It readily dissolves in water and is much more healthy then chemical sweetners, you know the ones.. We are not allowed to market stevia as a sweetner in this country because the power that be would prefer us to keep using those chemical sweetners that are so profitable for them. But it can be sold as a supplement. You will find it in health food stores. It does not work great for coffee but works wonderfully for cold drinks and tea.
