Initially, I had used ACV with mother and got good results with a chronically blocked nose and warts. However, I find that any internal use nowadays, even the lowest recommended dose, triggers an aggravation of my barely dormant facial dermatitis and urticaria. Odema and melasma also occurs. I was such a fan of ACV that I tested this in several ways with long breaks in between. It definitely ACV that causes the aggravation. Just thought I'd pass on this feedback.

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

YEA BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS: Thinking I was doing everything right for the last few years, switching to non-fluoride toothpaste and consuming ACV (sometimes 3x day but last few months 1x week), never drank sodas, even as a child, healthy diet with little processed food - I've been suffering toothache and went to the dentist a couple of days ago where he announced I had a LOT of work needing doing in my mouth. I was horrified but have been thinking perhaps I shouldn't have switched from fluoride to non-fluoride, did the ACV strip my teeth and cause cavities??? Well I think yes to both of these but it's done now so I'm trying black walnut although can only get them in gel capsules (not as good perhaps?), liquid silica, cod liver oil, fish oil etc - he's also put me on anti-biotics for the first time in I don't know how many years but will take to kill off any pain and give me respite till next appt.

Anyway, if I'd known to drink water and not brush my teeth straight after drinking ACV (or have it through a straw), I would have possibly avoided all this drama. I'm feeling really down about it as I don't want to lose any more teeth. I'm 47 and in otherwise good health. So just a warning to those consuming the good old apple cider vinegar - drink through a straw, have a glass of water straight after and DON'T brush your teeth straight away as this brushes the enamel off as the ACV has already attacked it!!

Can Topical Use of ACV Cause Diarrhea?

I'm using ACV diluted for a rash on the skin around my anus and vaginal area. After starting this treatment, there is less itching but now I have diarrhea. Any connection???

A question for "Mama to Many"

You mentioned that you have taken apple cider vinegar for years. I would like to take it but some side affects written on this site included unexpected vaginal bleeding in post menopausal women.

What is your opinion on this, how likely is it to happen and how much ACV would one have to consume before worrying about that side affect?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

I can't take this remedy either. I get a lot of puzzled looks but it just doesn't agree with my body. Thank you for the side effects page!!!

For 2 mos. I was drinking 1 tlbs. of ACV and 1 tlbs. of Maple Syrup in a glass of water, daily. I loved the way it made me feel but then I started noticing my hair was falling out. Has anyone had any issues with this happening?

After using ACV for six weeks, twice a day I mixed a teaspoon with soda water and really enjoyed it. I lost weight as I was not as hungry but I did develop itchy rash on my torso and worse, bleeding from the bowel and increased vaginal bleeds. I'm hoping now I've stopped the ACV, the bleeding will also stop as my HB levels are now quite low and doctors are concerned. Scopes to follow.

WE need hydrochloric acid in the stomach for optimum digestion. .As we age, the acid diminishes and digestion is impaired, which gives rise to a host of illnesses. Apple cider vinegar helps to increase the acid and this enables proper digestion. Vitamins like the b-complex, specially the b8 and the b12 can only be absorbed if the proper amounts of HCL are present. Some of us might experience sensitive teeth or burning throat from drinking the vinegar. Dilute it or use the pills.

Has anyone experienced prickling? For 6 weeks I took 1 tbs Apple Cider Vinegar in a glass of water in the morning to cure my acid reflux...which it did 100% and no reactions. Then suddenly after the 6 weeks I started getting itchy on my chest and a rash up my neck (like I do sometimes with certain wines) and now have pricking all over. I was feeling fabulous taking the ACV and so I tried only taking it every second day but with the same symptoms to then just a tsp in a glass of water but still no difference. I have stopped taking the ACV for the past 3 days and the prickling is almost gone....I really want to continue taking it but not sure if it's a good idea if it turns out I'm allergic to it?

Sky, if you see it's helping you in other areas, why don't you reduce your dosage until you find a no-headache dose.

I started taking the ACV a few weeks now and I haven't seen my periods as yet for the month and the date is passed by 5 days now.

I don't know if I am posting this in the correct forum.

After reading thouroughly about the benefits of drinking ACV I decided to try it. I went to my health store and purchase a bottle 5% acidic, unpasteurised, etc... Could not get my hands on Br...., cause I live in France, but let's say is 100% organic and the lot.

I had 2 tbs with water in the morning, ( I take usually lots of water during the day), and 15 minutes later I develop this headache... I came back here to read that my body is detoxifing itself so I think ok, I will keep going. Everyday a headache, depleated energy (and I am usually ready for the gym in the morning), for the 5 days I drank this I could not find the energy to do anything on top of the slight headache my body was depleated ans screaming for cookies (which I never eat, sugar cravings).

My last intake of ACV was yesterday before lunch. I had a major final exam today and I just couldn't study due to the lack of energy and the headache. During the night I thought no more, tomorrow is a big day and I cannot afford to feel like this anymore, lack of energy, not wanting to exercise (which I usually do very pleased).... No more ACV.

I had been reading also about coconut oil, so this morning I decided to have a tablespoon of it, and although my headache didn't go away immediately, it faded away gradually. By the time my exam started I was feeling more energised than the previous 5 days while drinking ACV. I am still using it topically on my face.

I want to say that the first time I opened the bottle of ACV I gagged, now I am kind of used to it and doesn't disgust me that bad. I would want to continue with it, but I need some input as to why I feel so bad while drinking it.

Any input/help, very much appreciated.

Just a question and not sure if anyone has had it happen or if it is even related. Three days ago I started taking Braggs ACV 2 tablespoons 3 times a day in a huge glass of water. On the second day on wakining I was very stiff and my joints ached And even now I feel the same way. I did not work out, I am not sick. Is this just me or has anyone else encountered this odd symptom? I had tried ACV for GERD and some energy as I heard it could help both. I also heard it helps arthritis, but it seems like I'm having the opposite effect. Any suggestions would be helpful.

My guess is you get worse before you get better. Why? Because it is pulling away the bad stuff from the joints and bringing into the bloodstream which then gets excreted. Just a guess but I think I'm right. Don't stop, keep doing it.

You might be having that die off effect or your body is detoxing .. I know when I oil pull I feel like I get some sort of flu.... I never had that with ACV but I do eat a lot of organic and drink alkaline water and use lemons so maybe I am not that toxic.. Have you tried the PH strips to check your urine and to check how alkaline or acidic you are?

Erin, try reducing the amount of ACV and mixing in some baking soda. It'll fizz.

Thanks for the reply. I will follow up your advise for the chia seeds and costipation. However, what i want to hear from was are there anyone else out there that experienced nausea and bitter saliva or taste in mouth after 1 week of drinking apple cider vinegar. I'm trying to validate if this is the culprit for the symptoms i'm experiencing. Thanks.

I know this is coming quite late, but better late than never, eh?! I tried Edgar Cayce's exercises for hemorrhoids; I did follow them to the T, and I mean three(3) times a day, one(1) hour after breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I did this for about two months: That was all that was needed, and it is been already a few years since then! Hemorrhoids are now things of the past. If a bit comes out by any chance, I just push it in. I also drink tons of water, though. Good luck!

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

I've been taking Apple cider vinegar early mornings with water and once in the middle of the day and then before I sleep. My main purpose has been to detox with it. I feel it is great but today I've been feeling a lot of heart burning. Is it possible that ACV can cause stomach ulcers? Should I continue taking this on an empty stomach in the mornings or stop with that? I've changed my diet and have a lot of yogurt and fruits in my diet now. Hardly any fried foods. What can be the reason? Should I get an H pylori test done? Thanks!

Hello, I started taking a spoon of Apple Cider Vinegar every morning, when I heard that it aids digestion and alkalines the system.

However, since I started I have been waking up with burning eyes and my tounge and mouth feel very acidic every in the mornings. I also experience worsening pains in my joints (hand) that seem to get worse every day.

Could the Apple cider have made me more acidic? Please advise. Thank you.

To Marie from London. You are supposed to take two tablespoon of ACV in a glass with 1/4 tsp. of baking soda mixed in and let it fizz off. Then you can mix some water or flavored water if you like up to a full glass. No wonder you are so acidic.

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

When I take apple cider vinegar daily I break out with painful herpes. I finally figured the ACV was the only thing I was doing different. I wondered if anyone else has had this experience? At first I thought it was the effect brought on by cleansing my body but the pain was too much so I stopped the ACV. If this is the virus being attacked I want to continue but I need to know if anyone else has had this experience. I do want to take ACV for all the good things it has done for me. But I was miserable. Thanks and I hope to gt some feedback.

TO the girl who gets herpes side effects upon taking apple cider vinegar. When I started taking ACV to cleanse my body, I too got a tiny bump in the corner of my lips and knew it was herpes. Had this once or twice before. I immediately put rubbing alcohol on it and all over the rest of my lips to protect them. The alcohol starts to KILL the herpes as it tries to grow! If you don't believe me, TRY IT! IT WORKS! The doctors don't want you to know this because they won't make any money off of you if you cure yourself! Right! Okay, please use a dab of rubbing alcohol on the bump as soon as you have THAT feeling on your lip. Keep applying it as soon as you get that feeling and I promise, it won't grow! Its amazing, I just experimented with rubbing alcohol one day and it worked. Hope you get this soon. By the way, I have been cleansing with Apple cider vinegar with the mother in it for a month. Add one tsp or more of the vinegar to two cups of water. I drink glasses of this all day. If you feel that darn thing on your lip just zap it fast. Thank you God for rubbing alcohol! Sincerely!!! :)!

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

Dear Ted,

Been over a month since I found this website and loving it so much (I'm on it everyday :) ). Started taking ACV with BS 5 days on 2 days off every week cured my fever, cough and cold, no back pain, no migraine and feel lots of energy. I'm very, very happy with the results and very thankful for you and everyone for having such good hearts. Unfortunately I've also lost 4 lbs in a month which isn't neccessary :(. My question for you is : " Since taking ACV and BS my health have been improved so much. Is there a way for me to take ACV without losing weight (keeping my weight the same)? How to gain weight while taking ACV?

I'm waiting for your answer. Thank you!

It absolutely can be an allergic reaction. If you do some research, it will say its known to cause itching and allergies.

Anybody can be allergic to anything so to tell you it's not possible is silly.
