ACV is a miracle, have stopped taking medication for nerve pain in legs, and for acid reflux. Arthritis is not a problem anymore, and have lost 25 lbs in 8 week. I feel 20 years younger, and will be on ACV for the rest of my life.

For the pre menopausal women, I do know of something you can get over the counter for the problems associated with menopause, I was only 29 years old when I had to have a hysterectomy, and my hormones went south fast, I didn't get hormone replacement therapy, and after a year my Dr finally tested my levels, and suggested a vitamin DHEA to help balance out my hormones, and it works, but I just like you, have packed on the LBS, almost 70 lbs and nothing has worked, I'm now going to start the ACV to see it will work for me.

I like to add honey and some cinnamon. The strong cinnamon scent helps me a lot.

This is one of my favorite ways to drink ACV.

  • 2-3 Oolong Tea bags
  • 2-3 flavored teabags (Peach, berry, mango, etc)
  • I steep these tea bags in about two cups of hot water until cool and then remove the bags.
  • To the tea I add 3-5 Tablespoons of ACV, A shake or two of cinnamon, a shake or two of ground ginger. I take this concentrate and add about 6 cups of water. As I pour a glass, I add sweetener (Like stevia, maple syrup, honey or agave ~ just whatever I have around) It sure tastes good. There are many recipes on the internet for something similar called "Good Girl MoonShine." I hope this helped.

I can attest that ACV suppresses ones appetite even when it is added to water. I've been adding 1 tbsp of B**** to 8 oz of ice water for a few days now, and my desire to eat has nearly left me completely. There's no discomfort at all, simply no sense that I'm hungry.

So, no need to take ACV straight, especially if you don't like the taste of it. Adding a couple of teaspoons or a tablespoon to 8 oz of water will do the trick. Personally, I LOVE it in ice cold water, but I've spoken with others who prefer warm water. Either will work just as well as the other.

Enjoy...! ;-)

Apple Cider Vinegar

Hello Earth Clinic,

I have been taking 2 tsp of Apple Cider Vinegar with the mother about 15 minutes before my meals 5 days a week for a month (2 weeks with organic honey, 2 weeks without). I experienced more energy the first two weeks, then the effects wore off. In addition, although I have slightly modified my eating, I have not lost any weight, in fact, I have gained about 5 lbs. I am a female, 23 years old, no children with good health, yet could stand to lose about 20 lbs (well with the recent weight gain that would be 25 lbs total). Can anyone offer any helpful advice with this matter? I am just about ready to give up :( I want to lose successfully like the rest of you guys.

I started taking ACV for what I suspect is candida. I feel better and I am also losing weight. I am 5'7, 148 lbs, 39 yrs old. I mix 2 teaspoon with water, and a small tsp of honey to help the taste, in the morning after breakfast. It stops the nauseaus feeling I've been having from candida, but also seems to curb my appetite. I don't have the urge to eat so much carb or huge portions. It just makes it easier to eat healthy and less. Also it seems my water retention problem is getting better.

Hi all. As mentioned before the required dose for weight loss is 2 teaspoons in 16 oz of water which is to to be sipped over the course of the day. My question is, since the Apple Cider Vinegar can cause damage to the enamel when do I rinse/ brush my mouth after taking the solution. I haven't started the remedy as yet, however I do understand that it is recommended that the solution be sipped through a straw. Thank you in advance for any replies- I am so grateful for this wonderful site and have told all my friends about it.

Ok got a question for you if I take a tsp of the Apple Cider Vinegar just straight up since I can't stand the taste (never have) will it do harm? I can suffer thru the taste then drink the water straight up but sipping it.... Not sure about that one. What is everyones opinion on this one.

Hi Dr...
If you do that, it will work, but most people take a couple of tablespoons at a time, 2x a day. After prolonged exposure, your teeth and throat might not like it. If you put 2 tablespoons of ACV in the bottom of a glass, and add 1/2 of a TEAspoon of baking soda to it.... And let it sit until it stops foaming, then add water (about 8 - 10oz) and a splash of Orange Juice or Apple Juice, (or any type of juice - about 2 oz) I swear you will not even notice the ACV! Just give it a try.... Oj is best for masking the taste in my opinion.
It is really worth the effort. I don't even really measure anymore, I just dump this and that and all good. Been taking it for about a year, and loving it.
Carly

Last summer, I was using apple cider vinegar on a daily basis to treat some persistant heartburn. I noticed that I lost about ten pounds over the course of six weeks. The change was so noticeable that my mother (who is usually quite critical of my weight) expressed concern that I had become too thin! By the winter, though, I had stopped taking the apple cider vineger, and the weight had all come back. It never occurred to me that my weight loss had been due to the vinegar. Recently, I came across your website and decided to start drinking vinegar on a regular basis for overall health. It's been two weeks, and I'm already down four pounds! I've noticed that I seem to crave "bad" foods much less, and I am satisfied with smaller portions. Maybe that's due to the apple cider vinegar, or maybe it's just psycho-somatic. Either way, I'm going to keep it up!

Here's how I take it: I mix two teaspoons of raw, organic apple cider vinegar into 1/4 cup of filtered water and add a teaspoon of agave. Sometimes I will heat the water slightly to make it taste like a hot toddy. Other times I will just drink the mixture cold, which tastes a lot like lemonade. I have tried diluting the vinegar in eight ounces of water, but I actually enjoy the taste more when I use less water. I usually drink the mixture a couple hours after dinner, as a nightcap. I imagine that it is "sealing" my body for the night and doing all its magical work while I sleep.

Five days ago, I found earthclinic.com in a random search for uses of vinegar. The very first thing I saw was "ACV for Weight Loss." I sort of scoffed at the theory, but decided to read a few testimonials anyway.

Well, I ended up reading ALL of the testimonials (haha, which took an entire day, between chasing kids and changing diapers), and they had me convinced. Those who did not have success appear to not be terribly over weight, or have used processed ACV instead of raw organic unfiltered ACV.

Anyway, on day one, I only drank 1/2 a glass of ACV water. It was too gross. Sorry, I can't remember exactly how much of what I used. Honey didn't even help. On day 2, I tried it again. Not much better. So, that night I decided to just drink a teaspoon of it, straight (since I like the taste of it, anyway). Boy, was that a mistake! It BURNED. So, since then I've been putting about 2 teaspoons of ACV in 1/2 liter of sweet tea with lemon. The ACV just makes the lemon a bit tangier, and it's actually quite good! I also have been drinking extra water, because I believe that is important to successful weight loss. As for the ACV tea, I try to make it last the whole day, and if I do drink it all, I just make another bottle. So, some days I have more than 2 teaspoons, but never more than 3 or 4.

This morning I weighed myself, and I have lost 5 pounds! I've got about 95 to go, but now I am quite optimistic about it. The greatest thing is that this stuff really curbs your appetite! I only eat when I am hungry now, and am careful to have small portions.

Thank you so much, Earth Clinic, for pointing this out to me. If it weren't for you, I would never be a believer!

I'll post again later with further results!

You will have a winner if you swap the sugar in your sweet tea for local, raw honey. Refined sugar cancels out many health benefits. Tea, honey, ACV and lemon?? = a real health powerhouse. At the store or health food store, choose the raw honey that is made nearest to wherever you are, even if a neigboring state or bordering country. As a bonus, you are supporting nearby honey farms doing this instead of a giant corporate food conglomerate. Enough people do this, and it will catch on what the "buzz" is all about!

Apple Cider Vinegar and Blood Types
Posted by Naturallyme (Reno, NV) on 04/29/2009

After reading all the other posts about weight loss success, I decided to try ACV. My first experience was after coming off my first trial of a lemonade detox diet about 4 months ago. Once I started eating normally again, I drank 1 tablespoon ACV mixed with 8 ounces of water 2-3 times per day before meals. This went on for 2-3 weeks. Alarmingly, I seemed to be gaining weight instead of losing it. I went from 115 llbs to 125! To be fair, my weight before the 9-day juice fast was 121, so I wasn't sure if the gain was from coming off of the detox juice-fast or from the ACV, so I stopped taking the ACV. It was probably a mix of both.

As I never lost the 4 extra pounds that I gained, I decided to try the vinegar again. I tried it for 2 days, this time with only 1 teaspoon with 8oz. of water and gained exactly one pound each day (up to 127 lbs)! I've been off it now for two days and my weight has returned to 125 again. I would have gone longer just to make sure, but I feared not being to lose the weight again. I am a 27 year-old female who makes healthy food choices most of the time and exercises 3-5x per week. I know that I do not consume enough calories to be gaining a pound per day from what I eat. I believe that the ACV must be interfering with my hormones somehow. Another reason I think this is because my menstrual cycle was affected (I started bleeding moderately, even though my period officially ended a week ago).

Interestingly, yesterday a friend directed me to some literature about blood type diets. My type is AB. In a book that I read, it said that people with this type should avoid all vinegar and pickled foods. It also said that AB's are predisposed to menstrual problems and migraines...conditions that I'm chronically plagued with. I'm going to take some time look to into this information and test out their eating plan. Hopefully it works. Either way, I won't be turning to ACV again for help with weight loss.

ok back again to say it has been 3months doing this remedy and still loosing weight i am now at 144. and yes i am still doing the same remedy as from the first blog i posted. i see some people have posted if you drink this acv befor meals you loose weight and if you drink it after meals you gain weight.. i sipp it all day long regardless if its befor or after meals. so yeah i just think its different for everyone i also increased my physicall activites more walking every other night with double stroller. so people dont give up just give it some time dont be scared of it lol... it will help remember its all natural. and another thing just watch what you eat im not saying to completly cut off your favorite foods but just limit the amount you serve before each meal i also drink lots of water so you do get fuller and the acv helps. also before you go to bed drink a glass full of water. so just be positive you can do this... thanks mel

I found this website through a GREAT friend at work. I checked it out and been trying ACV with water sometime just I take shots. I never drank so much vinigar in my LIFE. Anyhow starting to see results, I am less bloated, my jeans are getting big, and my face looks great! Usually around this time of the month I get my usual big zit and so far so good.

So try it you have nothing to loose but weight, bloating and zits.

WEIGHT LOSS = YES

Following up from my posts, I've lost 3 kgs (6.6pds) in 7 weeks. The weight started coming off in the 5/6th week. I also increased my drinking intake (of 425ml and 2tsp) to twice a day. I actually feel sick if I eat a couple of chips (your french fries?) or a nibble of biscuits. I can taste the fat in the back of my throat. I also noticed that I lost the craving for KFC. What an amazing thing this ACV is! My weightloss is not as rapid as some of the other posters here but it is working for me. All I needed was a bit of patience and faith.

Patience is a virtue. I wouldn't dismiss the beneficial things that ACV can bring with just a short period of time. Each individual will have different results. I mean I started taking ACV along with Conconut oil during March of this year in hopes of loosing weight. I made it a vow not to weigh myself all this time, because you only set yourself up for disappointment. Next thing you know, I am getting compliments of how much weight I've lost. So, do give it some time and you will see a difference. It might not today, but it will come.
