Warts

I got a strange looking thing-ee on my hand between my thumb and index finger. I thought it was a boil, but my doctor thought it was a wart and suggested putting salicycic acid on it. I did but it burned like crazy after a few hours and looked only slightly better after 2 days. I was supposed to give the acid 10 days, but decided that was not the right cure. Instead I rubbed I coconut oil into the strange growth a few times a day. It disappeared after only 3 days. I wonder if it would work for moles too?

Virgin coconut oil cured my plantar warts. I had some plantar warts on my foot for about a year, then I started rubbing coconut oil on my feet to help soften the skin and make walking more comfortable. After about 2 months of this, I was just starting to think of going to the doctor to have them removed (with much dread) when I noticed that the warts had shrunk. Then about 1-2 weeks later, the dead skin just peeled off like a callous, revealing soft healthy skin underneath. It wasn't an overnight cure, but the time was a small price to pay for not having them dug out! I know they were warts because they had the little black spots in them, they hurt or bled if scraped, and a couple of small ones had appeared elsewhere on my foot. I also use coconut oil in food preparation on a regular basis, as well as topically on all areas of the skin.

Thrush

I suffered with thrush for 9 mos. Tried Nystatin and several other RX meds. Tried all of the popular probiotics and even tried the expensive Three-Lac. Three-Lac did offer some relief but could not completely get rid of the problem. One week of extra Virgin coconut oil from GNC, Emerald labs did the trick. I had several days of pure hell from upset stomach, loose bowels stomach pain and so on. This eventually subsided and the benefits have been nothing short of miraculous. I wish I had known of this product earlier, it would have saved me a ton of misery and saved me a boat load of cash.

Wow! I just read this cure [oil pulling] for the first time and decided to try it with my organic coconut oil. I still can't believe it but the chronic sensitivity I had in two of my teeth is gone! It's hard to tell which teeth were hurting! And my teeth feel different.

Many thanks to Lucille from Jersey City. I had sensitive gums and nerves for several months after having two dental procedures - removal of an impacted and decayed wisdom tooth -lower left, and placement of a crown on a molar above. I was very sensitive to cold especially but hot as well. Oil pulling with coconut oil just three times cured it 95%. It was hard to believe after it was so sensitive it virtually went away. I rarely feel anything anymore except with extreme temperatures and I see even that declining as the days go by.

I used coconut oil during my twin pregnancy and got no stretch marks at all (they weighed 6 & 7 pounds, that's 13 pounds of baby!). I rubbed it on my stomach every day 2 times (morning & evening). I used it again with my second pregnancy and still have no stretch marks (he weighed 11 pounds).

hi, i haven't seen a remedy for smelly scalp, i use to have a foul smelling scalp, even though i showered everyday, i tried all kinds of shampoo, but the one thing that cured me of this embarrassing condition was applying virgin coconut oil to my scalp for an hour, i think it disappeared after two applications. i hope this helps others who suffer from this condition.

Coconut Oil I used organic cold pressed coconut oil and it made my skin worse than it already was.Within 3 days after using it on my skin and drinking the recommended amount I woke up in the middle of the night on fire,it was so bad on my face I had to use cortisone cream (prescription)just to calm down the rash on my face!It may work wonders for others but in my case, it just made a bad situation worse.

This is more of a beauty experience. I am a college students and once in a while, I ran out of money to buy expensive face cream, so i tried this extra virgin coconut oil that i bought ages ago (for my hair)...on my face. and WOW...my skin was glowing. i have oily/ acne prone skin but it doesnt irritate me. infact, i've cut down the expenses such as face cream, toner, hair mask, makeup remover, body lotion, foot lotion, hand cream etc. WOW!...thats a lot of saving..with just one jar of coconut oil!

I tried using coconut oil for a skin cream, on my body and face, but didn't have the good results most other people have had. I went to bed feeling like a grease ball, and the next day my face started to break out with bumps all over it. So I figured my skin is too senstivie. But I have found that if I rub the oil on my body before I use a sunless tanning spray or foam, streaks and uneven color are prevented from forming. I will rub more on drier areas, such as knee caps and tops of feet, and this helps with those areas becoming too dark. Just takes a while longer to dry.

I came across the comment about massaging your feet at night with coconut oil and decided to give it a try, while also using the coconut oil nightly on my face. I noticed straight away on the first morning after doing this that the coconut oil had dried and shrunk the few blemishes I had on my face. It had also left my skin feeling lovely and smooth. The dark circles under my eyes hadn't disappeared but I felt that they were a bit lighter. After the second night of this routine the circles seemed lighter again. On the third evening I was too tired to bother with massaging the oil into my feet, so I just used it on my face- the next morning when I woke up and looked in the mirror those dark circles had almost completely disappeared! Thank you so much for this wonderful site. It's already been more helpful than years worth of expensive creams, lotions and potions filled with nasty chemicals :-) [EC: Nicole is referring to our latest Fountain of Youth remedy, using coconut oil to massage the feet and calves.]

What is the difference between Organic Coconut Oil and Virgin (or extra virgin) Coconut Oil? I use the Organic Coconut Oil for removing my makeup at night. I was told that it cleaned out your pores. It does make my 60 year old complex very soft. I do get compliments on my complexion due to no wrinkles. [EC: We suspect there is no difference, merely a marketing ploy.]
