HAPPY TUESDAY EC: MY ELDERLY FRIEND, CARL, DOES NOT HAVE A COMPUTER SO I EAGERLY PACK MY LAPTOP OVER TO HIS APARTMENT WHERE I CONNECT TO WIFI AND WE IMMEDIATELY LOG IN TO THIS SITE AND ENJOY ALL THE NEW POSTS, ETC...HE EVEN HAS A 14 YEAR OLD CAT SO WE GO TO THE PET POSTS TOO. I HAVE BEEN DOING HIS LAUNDRY, SOME CLEANING, CAT-BOX DUMPING, LIGHT SNACK-PREP, ETC..WHILE HE SLOWLY READS WHAT EVERYONE HAS TO SAY HERE. THEN WE DISCUSS AND IT IS A PLEASUREABLE COUPLE HOURS. (PROBABLY TMI, SORRY).....HE HAS A TERRIBLE TIME WITH THE SMALL FONT, WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE TO GO TO A LARGER FONT FOR HIM AND OTHER READERS WHO HAVE DIFFICULTY?...WE NOTICE SOME REPLIES ARE BOLDED AND MUCH BIGGER(HE LIKES THAT).

THANK YOU FROM YOUR LOYAL VISITORS IN MISSOULA

EC: Hi Suzi. We use a "normal" font size on this website. However, every website browser gives you the option to increase the font size settings. Internet Explorer does a great job with giving you different options. Firefox doesn't do as good a job with Earth Clinic though..

Internet Explorer:
Go to Page
Text Size
Choose Larger or Largest

You can also choose ZOOM under the Page drop-down menu.

Let us know if this helps!

Hello wonderful Earth Clinic technician :) Your Website is fantastic. :) It's sooo user friendly. :) And it's very plain and simple. So nice! I love the search feature and the layout with a brief Wikipedia blurb at the beginning of each section. Also that Ted's conclusions are often first on the page. Thank you thank you thank you!!! for such a stellar product :)

I have a dream... That one day... when I click to comment on an article, the original page remains fixed. No longer does it automatically boot up to the beginning of the page. I return to my perusal with ease... No more scrolling and scrolling to relocate my place... I can see it now... ... ... I realize that with all your technical know-how there must be an exemplary reason for this amazing phenomenon to which I am sadly ignorant. Nonetheless, it has been a dream of mine for some time now... At night I lay awake and dream of it... I can see it when I close my eyes... When I am parked at red lights my thoughts return to it... Perhaps FireFox has left me Internet Explorer deficient? Am I forever doomed to scrolling through page after page frantically searching for that last-read tid-bit of epiphanacious enlightenment? I can't sleep... I can't eat...

EC: Ah, dear Connie, thank you kindly for all the compliments about Clínica de la Tierra. Your dreams would be answered right away should you decide to view posts in Internet Explorer rather than Firefox. Unfortunately Firefox does not use a place holder so zipping back and forth between pages is a frustrating experience. Try Internet Explorer and let us know if your universe returns to divine order.

hi to all. I registered and was told there would be an confirmation e-mail sent before full registration would take place. I didn't receive this and so assumed I had done something wrong. When I tried to re-register I'm told my e-mail is already in use. EC, maybe you can guide me in the right direction, thanks.

EC: Hi Tricia, sorry you didn't receive the email with the authorization passcode. Occasionally it ends up in Junk mail and occasionally the server attached to your email account will reject it as spam and you will never see it. Please email [email protected] with the screen name you used when you registered and we will send you the authorization code. Thank you!

It would be really nice to have the option of clicking a check-box that allows a participants name/city/state/country to be remembered so we don't have to reenter the info every time we respond. Might that be a possibility?

I absolutely love this site. You all are doing a fantastic job and such a huge service to the people who come here, and to those they tell about these remedies. Thank you so much for all your efforts :)

May God bless you and yours.

EC: Thanks for the suggestion and for all of your feedback posts! 2 weekends ago we launched the registered user section, which eliminates the need to enter your name, city and state for all posts. Once registered, you just need to log in.

Here's the registration page: https://www.earthclinic.com/register.php

I'm a resident of Canada for many years (perfectly trilingual, English/French/Spanish), and I keep communication with many relatives and friends around the globe. Specifically, I would like to know if you ever think that your wonderful web page will become bilingual English/Spanish or some articles in Spanish or if you know or own a web page like this one that can be accessible to Spanish speaking people that do not speak English.

I will appreciate your help, there many people no-English speaking looking for articles like the ones published here.

Regards,

JB

EC: Thank you for your feedback. We did start this endeavor Summer, 2008 (see the acv in spanish page), but it turned out to be far too costly for a website like ours and stopped short!

A friend of mine, a television writer, was once hired to write false submissions on blogs and websites promoting a certain line of supplements. It is not an uncommon practice in any sector. According to my friend, these writers are very talented and take their time setting up personas meant to elicit trust. It would be wise for everyone reading this vast ocean of information on the net to keep a sceptical mind.

You may have noticed - things are slowing down on the Real-Time Posts page of Earth Clinic! Wondering why? Well, we were receiving up to 20 fake posts a day from companies trying to promote their products with various key word placement and have been deleting such posts (old and new) from the site. They have finally caught wind of the fact that their posts aren't going through and many have stopped submitting them.

Just to give you a few examples without mentioning product names:

* A brand that sell turmeric capsules at a big box store was sending in bogus feedback (since last summer) at least once a week for boils and MRSA.
* Various brands of probiotics to treat bacterial vaginosis...
* A certain brand of hormones for women... written with different sets of key words, but all of which will bring you to the same product if you were to google them.
* A false NAY for inversion board therapy so they could promote a certain product for the back...

And many, many more...

We are making our way through the site, page by page, and removing older feedback that is questionable. If you happen to see any posts that strike you as bogus, please let us know. Thanks so much!

Surprised to see this mentioned because I was just wondering the other day if some remedies that work great for young people might not work as well for elderly people. So I do think this added information might be helpful.

Would it be possible to add optional fields for GENDER and AGE to your feedback form? I find it really helpful when members put what gender they are (male or female) and what age. So perhaps it would be nice for this data to be standardized.

The reason I find this information helpful is to be able to sift through all the latest postings faster. A lot of times I'm only interested in certain remedies that cured males or people near my age. Thanks.

EC: Interesting idea, thanks for the suggestion. Would anyone else like to see this added?

EC: I know a lot of people have been helped by this site and Ted's postings and would like to show appreciation by sharing a donation or love offering. I have talked with some folks you stated they didn't know there was a link where you could donate. My suggestion is to change the color of the link and use a bigger font so it will standout. Thanks again for this site!!!

EC: Thank you for the suggestion, PR, much appreciated!

Paul, let's play devils advocate for a bit:

Assuming AVC (or any other remedie on this site) offers nothing but placebo effect: wouldn't placebo be better than taking possibly toxic medication which costs MONEY and TIME, through the use of an expensive "DOCTOR"? What do you have to lose? Are you saying that a couple of tablespoons of vinegar a day is more toxic than, say, antibiotics or cortizone? Does it cost more? Are there more side effects to vinegar consumption than taking western medicine?

Sorry bud, but there will never be the proven "real remedy" you talk about, simply because no one is interested in spending millions(ssssss) in FDA trials to prove that something like vinegar, which can't be patented, is more effective than whatever it is that the healthcare industry is trying o push on us in a given day, with the help of our government(s), under the disguise of a World Health Organization (ie: US pharma industry puppet).

It looks like you came into this site with your mind made up about a lot of things. And that's fine. You make your choices, you live with them. A lot of people here are making other choices, and are happy with it! They don't need any convincing from people like you.

Hi EC A little suggestion about your pH balance links.

The pH Balance link appears in the [Ailments] page. Yet the Second line in the
https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/pH.html page is "Best Home Remedies to Balance pH Levels!".

It has always been a source of confusion for me to find the reference to the pH balance page.

I would like to suggest
1) to add the "pH Balance" and "pH balance - Q&A" links as well to the [Remedies] page.

2) to add a link in the "Alkalizing Formulas" page to the "pH Balance page" and vice versa.

Thanks for your great site.

Alain

EC: Thank you for the great suggestion, Alain. Yes, those 2 pages were confusing. Made some title name changes, added the links. Hopefully this is better!

ACV creates an alkaline PH in your body the same way the real Lemon juice does. I detox my body by fasting, once in a month, using real lemon juice with distilled water. ACV, Lemon and Lime juices are acidic in nature but creates an alkaline pH in your body.

yes, the placebo effect cannot be ruled out....but with so many reporting positive responses, when does that in itself become "Science."

The gold standard of science being the double blind placebo is great but can be flawed as well....

Even for one person who says something has worked for him when for so many it hasn't is valid. Perhaps that one person took it along with something else that enabled it to work beyond the placebo effect.

As we are learning there are so many X-factors in the equation that Science isn't necessarily "science".. Meaning that there are infinite variables that lie outside the double blind studies....Thus I find these posts fascinating...all little pieces of the puzzle, some science, some intuition..some crazy, but all human.

I really don't understand the exhuberance that borders on cult for ACV. I have looked at the site and ACV apparently cures every illness known to man and it is the most favored remedy for everything. That, on it's face, is a bit much and makes me tend to not take the remedies too seriously.

Especially when there is a lot of information on the health benefits of getting your diet more alkaline. All those foods we think of as 'bad foods', are mostly acid -- all the meats and sweets, etc. And all the foods we think of as 'good' are alkaline -- like the veggies and legumes and nuts and seeds, etc.

And yet, the A1, top ranked remedy for most of the things I looked at was to add the acidic Vinegar to the diet. I actually think it has caused me some trouble. When I take it I start to get wheezy. And it's bad for your teeth.

So, to me, there appears to be a need to be a bit more objective about this so we can get to some real, working remedies and ease away from what appear to be placebo remedies.

EC: Thousands of posts about the effectiveness of apple cider vinegar and you're calling it a placebo remedy? Funny!!

Had you done a little more research on the subject on this site, you would find that apple cider vinegar creates an alkaline pH.

One of our readers recently requested a new page devoted to sexual abuse and has submitted feedback on the subject. This is an immensely uncomfortable subject, but we'd be interested in hearing your views on the subject. If you wish to remain anonymous, please enter "Anon" on the first name, city and state fields of the Contact Us form.

To keep the page from sinking into a dark abyss, ideally we'd like to receive feedback from people who have healed themselves from the trauma of sexual abuse.

Here's the new page: https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/sexual-abuse.html

To DJ from pdx:

Hello there DJ,

Thanks for those kind words and I have just added you to my list of friends, although I may never meet you personally. Sounds like you are as addicted to EC as I have been since the first day I stumbled on it. I love EC and have been thoroughly happy that I am retired with enough to not worry about where the next meal is coming from and can both learn and share with our big EC family! Isn't it great? However I question its rating as one of the top ten sites, seems to me like it should be #1 of its kind.

Don't know how far on the other side of this planet you live, but if you ever get through this neck of the woods, drop by but please don't be wearing any smelly stuff because of my allergies. If you ever do, be prepared to do a lot of talking, because my kids tell me I'm a regular motormouth. I just tell them it runs in the family. Come to think of it, if my kids are right about my motormouth, you might have trouble getting a word in edgewise and be found doing more listening than talking! Also if you bring the tea, I love Red Zinger herbal.

Deirdre has my ok to let you have my e-mail if you want it. You sound like my kind of people. By the way, does DJ stand for disk jockey or is that your actual initials? Goodnight now, I am calling it a day and going to bed.

Hello to all my EC family,

Happy to announce that thanks to a lot of prayers, wonderful medical care, I am off my DND (Danged near Dead) perch and happily back at home with my family and feeling very loved by all.

Let me get on my soapbox for a few minutes and tell you all when you are sick and know it, get yourself to the doctor. If you don't feel like sitting up, call an ambulance and if you are afraid of embarrassing yourself and medical staff, I can assure you it won't be the first time a nurse or doctor got pooped or peed on. I am not quite up to par yet but getting there by leaps and bounds. I am sitting here now thinking that I can plant my 8 tomato plants tomorrow if I can catch a time when Danny isn't looking. I'll leave my blueberry bushes for him to plant because they require a larger hole.

Thanks to all of you for your prayers and concerns and may God continue blessing us all. Hoping to catch up on 3 weeks of e mail and then getting back to learning and sharing on EC.

Love you all.

Hi everyone. i have never writen on sites like this before but i felt like i should because i have just tried something new for bv which has actually WORKED!!!!!! :) i have had bv since i was 19 and i'm 29 now, it has been a horrible, long and embarrasing 10 years! mine has been constant as i left it for 2 years before i even went to the doctors, then no treatment seemed to work for longer than one day. it has TOTALLY affected my life and relationships and my confidence. i have done so many things to stop people finding out about it,i even have to change my underwear at least 4 times a day. i used panty liners for 9 years everyday but i got so sick of it that now i just carry extra underwear everywhere i go!

When i found this site, i thought i had found a miricle cure and was so excited! i tried EVERYTHING people suggested but it didn't really seem to work and then a few days later it seemed to get even worse!the smell seemed so much stronger!anyway, i was really down thinking that was my last chance to be normal again......when i saw something called Balance Activ advertised. It said it took away abnormal vaginal smell and discharge and could help with bv! anyway, i got it last week and you insert some gel every night for a week and it clears it up. i was so worried that it wouldn't work but last night was my last night........................AND IT HAS TOTALLY WORKED!!!! i just can't believe it!!! i know i have to wait to see if or when it comes back but this is the FIRST time i have noticed no smell at all or any horrible discharge!! my stomache is aching with anticipation to see if it works long term, but it feels totally different this time! no antibiotics, no douching with weird things, no trying EVERYTHING possible you have read on the internet!

I know this site didn't want any product names on it but people who are so desperate to get rid of bv will be so grateful of this product that i hope this message gets printed! It's called Balance Activ, you can find info on the internet and you can also buy it now in larger Boots stores in England!!

I have had this for 10 years and have kept it a secret from everyone. it even feels weird writing this all down because i have never told anyone apart from all the doctors i have been to to try and get rid of this! my life seems so much brighter now, i can't believe that something has actually worked. i recommend everyone with bv to try it because it had changed my life( i feel like i can have a life now!!)

I hope this works for everyone. Dee x

EC: Funny and most obviously a fake!

Website Comments

Well, this is the Latest Posts page, so that's what we get here :) I think it's fine as it is. Posting the entire thread on this page every time a post gets a response will take up a LOT of space, and I personally don't want to wade through the same posts over and over again to try to find the newest ones. What I believe you're looking for already exists here, just a click away - if you're wanting to see earlier responses/all responses to a particular post, all you have to do is click the post title (click the Acai berry scam title lower down on this page for an example).

EC: Thanks, T! This is exactly what our programmer has told us when we've brought up the issue before!

Hi Earth Clinic - totally agree with Linda's politely and sensitively worded 'website comment' where Linda says ''I wonder if you think it would make sense to have all responses appear continuously and subsequently with the original comment?'' I have myself have asked Earth Clinic this and as I am so happy to have found this brilliant Earth Clinic site, please anyone let me know if our approach is not so logical or possible after all :-) .

EC: If someone can find us a good example of this kind of layout on another website with a "Latest Posts" section, we will see if the programmer can do it.

Thanks!

Hello Earth Clinic! I'm curious about how responses are posted...each response is posted as a separate entry along with the original comment; I wonder if you think it would make sense to have all responses appear continuously and subsequently with the original comment? You're probably way ahead of me and have asked your programmer about this already. I apologize if this is repeats of a question already asked and hope what I've said makes sense to you all! I absolutely don't skip more than one day logging on to earthclinic.com!

EC: Thanks so much for the feedback. Are you referring to posts that appear on the Latest Posts page? If so, we have tried posting everything that falls underneath an original post, but it turned the Latest Posts page into a total mess with far too many posts. I realize this is an issue and will have the programmer work on it some more!

Deirdre
