Deirdre and all my dear Earth Clinic friends & family. My 33 yr old autistic best friend & nephew, L Joey, lost his mother not yet a yr ago and health deteriorating and recently back home from the hospital for maybe two wks waiting for test results and treatment options and now suddenly back in the hospital in critical condition with acute lymphoma. He is a big hearted, smart, passionate person hoping to go back to school and begin a new life and suddenly is almost gone. Please take a moment of prayer sending him divine, life giving energy, and wisdom in the minds of all the staff at the hospital. And TY in advance from the bottom of my heart.

Dear all,

After a decade in Atlanta, Earth Clinic has recently relocated back to Los Angeles. We're very happy to be back in warm and sunny Southern California!

Additionally, our wonderful programmer has made recent changes to the account section of Earth Clinic, so when you login to your account, you should now be able to sort through posts you've saved by ailment, remedy, or by ascending/descending date. If you have any additional requests as far as what you'd like to see in your account, please tell us. It's very helpful to get your feedback!

Thanks so much, Deirdre!

I tried using that feature via logging-in. I clicked on 'watch this post' but opted out of the notifications of future replies to the posts since I just want to save them vs. see all of the replies to them, and I couldn't find the posts I saved anywhere. (?)

No biggie, though. I can just continue copying/pasting to Word as I've done for years. I only asked in case there was a feature for this function on EC that I was unaware of.

Thanks, again! :)

EC: Thanks for letting us know, Kelly! We will check into it...

Also, according to our programmer, Craig's List uses cookies to store starred posts. We could add this option to EC, but the problem is, he says, a user will lose all of their starred posts if they ever need to clear their internet browser for any reason. Some people's browsers are set to automatically delete all cookies when they close their browser.

Thanks so much, Deirdre! And no worries, I would be more than happy to log-in to use it.

I'll give it a whirl after I submit this post.

Thanks, again. Have a happy 4th weekend! :)

EC: Thanks so much, Kelly, you too!

P.S. We'll check into how Craig's List does it...

Hi Mmsg :)

That's what I've been doing--copying/pasting to Word, but I'd love it I could just save it here on EC, since I'm here so often. (More as a reader than a poster.)

I don't know if Craigslist is as popular across the pond as it is here, but their website, which is intentionally rudimentary, has a star next to every post and if you click on the star, it will save it (right there on CL). Then, when you want to reference a previous post, you just click on the yellow star at the top of the page and *voila*--all of your saved posts are there in a list until you choose to delete them.

That feature is so handy--I love it! :)

Hi Kelly,

Our programmer says to login and click on "My Watched Posts" because this is where you can find all the posts you have saved, starting with the most recent date at the top. You can also opt to be notified if someone responds to one of these posts, or delete the post from your account. This is our "folder"... He says you have to login in order to use it, sorry!

Kelly, I do that on my own: I cut and paste posts that I want to save into a Word doc.

Hi EC/Deirdre :)

I've used the 'watch this post' feature, but it only notifies me if there are replies to the post. What I was referring to is a folder (or the like) where we can put posts we would like to save.

For example: When people post treatments that worked for them, it would be great if we could keep/file them somewhere for future reference. Then, if we, or someone we know, has an ailment, we can go to that folder and find the post that we saved on that topic that also included measurements, etc.

Friends and family always come to me for natural suggestions for their ailments, and I'd love it if we had a folder with saved posts with treatments for everything from anemia to Zinc deficiency that I saved along the way after reading a post with great info and saved.

Obviously, if this requires a major program overhaul, then it would be another 'never minnnnnd'. But hey, a girl can dream. :)

EC: Thanks so much for providing more information. Will ask our programmer and let you know!

I wish there was a way to save favorite posts, too; like a folder? For example, when I come across posts I would like to save for future use, it would be great if we had an 'add to folder' option. Then, when we wanted to reference a favorite post, we could click on the folder and they would all be there, in one place.

Perhaps there is a way to do this that I'm unaware of it since I seldom sign-in when I'm here. If so, 'never minnnnnnnnd'. :)

EC: Hi Kelly,

We already have a "watch this post" icon (the eye), which people can use to add a post to their account when they login. However, it's for registered users. Don't think it's possible to do the same for those who don't want to login, but we'll check with the programmer. If you've seen another website that lets you do this without logging in, please send us the url so we can check it out.

Many thanks to our long-time contributor Larry from Fairfax, VA for asking us in early June to add the email function back to posts. Besides emailing a post to a family member or friend, you can now share individual posts on Facebook and Twitter!

Will Earth Clinic users have a means of sharing a particular posting with someone via eMail? I understood that Earth Clinic was to have had such such a procedure set-up a few weeks ago. Please advise. Larry K./ Fairfax, VA

EC: HI Larry,

Yes, you'll see it live today or tomorrow! We're just testing it now... As you may have noticed, we've been redesigning/simplifying the line of icons that appear below each comment. You'll be able to email or share via Facebook or Twitter very soon!

We just learned that posts sent from iPhones on Earth Clinic's mobile site have been glitching since an update our programmer made last week (or longer) and we're not receiving many iPhone submissions. If you got a white screen after clicking the "submit" button on your iPhone, then your post did not come through and cannot be recovered. So sorry!

Please hold off submitting posts from your iPhone until Tuesday morning. The issue probably won't be fixed until late Monday evening. Desktop submissions are working fine, however.

Is there a procedure for sending someone a copy of an EarthClinic.com posting via eMail? Thanks, Larry / Fairfax, VA

EC: Hi Larry,

Thanks for the request - we're working on it!

Next week you'll see a little icon at the bottom of each post that will let you email a post or share on social media.

Good morning everyone! We hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

We've decided to move Earth Clinic's rating system to a 5 star system. Our current rating system has become outdated after 16 years and can be very confusing to first-timers to the site. Some of our EC's friends have told us recently when we asked that they've always hated YEA/NAY but didn't dare to say! Ha ha. Well, we're now ready to make a change!

With a 5 star rating system, we'll need to convert all posts that have Yea/Nay/etc ratings on the site. Would you please let us know if you agree with the below? Your help will be greatly appreciated!

These are the ratings we currently have on EC:

Yea
Nay
Better But Not Cured
Better But With Side Effects
Side Effects
Worked Temporarily
Warning!
Death Reported (pets vaccination section only)

We would convert as follows:

5 Stars - all "Yeas" on the site
4 Stars - all "Better but not Cured" on the site
3 Stars - all "Worked Temporarily" and "Better But With Side Effects" posts
2 Stars - all "Nay" posts
1 Star - all "Warning! " or "Side Effects" posts

Create a Skull and Crossbones symbol - for "Death Reported"

Our contact us form would then offer the following simple choices:

5 Stars Cured
4 Stars Better but not cured
3 Stars It's okay
2 Stars I don't like it
1 Star Side Effects/Warning!

Please let us know what you think or if you have any other ideas. We're very open to suggestions before making this huge change.

Many thanks.

Hi, I was wondering if you can put all of Ted's remedies on a page of its own, its kinda hard to get to teds remediies. Thank you

EC: Hello, you can access most of Ted's remedies at ted.earthclinic.com. However, some of his remedies are still located on the main Earth Clinic site in the ailments section.

Once we've finished with our Android and Apple apps in the next few months, we'll start to tidy up Ted's remedies and make them easier to find.

Dear EC,

It appears I've missed some information about the "Research" option now available by the "Follow" option. Could you please advise about this??

Thanks,

EC: Hi KT,

Yes, last week we added a link button under each post to Amazon.com. Please read why we did it here.

About Joyce
Posted by Robert Henry (Ten Mile, Tn) on 12/22/2015

HI ALL, , , , , , , , , was in EC's archives today and ran across one of Joyce's posts and it brought tears to my eyes. Her posts were common sense. She was a strong woman and we tangled a few times, but I miss her counsel.

Deirdre, I know she's not in the running with Ted, but it would be nice if the new folks could see what she posted over the years.

========ORH=========

EC: Haven't received any posts from Joyce in quite a few years, unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion. We'll have our programmer create something that will link to all of her posts.

Hi gang,

I'm confused. When I get an email with a link about a thread I am following it never goes to the recent post about said thread. I scroll around but I never find anything that has been posted in the last day or so.

Is it me... or is it Memorex??

Jillaroo

EC: Hi Jillery,

Thank you so much for reporting this issue! It's a programming glitch...

Our programmer has now fixed the issue, but please let us know if the link you receive in your email notification does not take you directly to the new post in the thread.

With the recent site changes, I've noticed that my beloved blue arrow (the 'back to top' icon) is missing. The same happened before following site modifications, so I'm hoping, like the last time, it will be back shortly.

I *love* that feature! :)

EC: Hi Liz,

It's now back! Thank you so very much for letting us know it was missing again!

Our programmer made an update to Earth Clinic yesterday and if you are logged in, you can now indicate if you love a post! Clicking on the heart is not meant to be a Facebook "like", it's meant to be a "I love this post!", which is why it's a heart and not a thumbs up icon.

We see lots of amazing, detailed replies on the Latest Posts page every day and have been looking forward to adding this feature to Earth Clinic so that the wonderful contributors who take time to write a reply can get a little acknowledgement for their time and effort.

Our new feature may have a few glitches, but we should have those fixed by Monday.

You will need to clear your browser history if things look "off". Flag and Follow should not be underlined. If you've cleared your history and are loading the new files, Flag and Follow will now only pop up as you scroll over a post. The only two words you should see at the bottom of a post is Like and Reply.

When I enter the website and try to use the search engine, I get a drop down asking for language. You can imagine my frustration when I can not find english -unable to get the language thing to disappear.

EC: Hi Rhonda,

You are using our new Website Translation dropdown box for people who need to read our pages in another language. Please use Earth Clinic's Search box at the very top in the middle. That should work!

I have been following this site for over 10 years. I love it! However, lately I am noticing difficulty actually finding Ted's recipes. I spend hours combing through comments from readers to piece together parts.

I seem to remember a recipe page. Has that been removed? Do you now have to sign in to find the recipe's? It's getting frustrating since so many people alter the original recipe.

I have been looking and looking and there are references but no actual recipe.

Can you point me in the right direction? I am specifically looking for the ACV Baking Soda one for heartburn. But access to the rest would be great too!

Thank you!

EC: Hi Charlene,

Sorry for the confusion. We've moved all of Ted's posts to ted.earthclinic.com. However, some of Ted's recipes are still on the main site.

Here are 3 urls you can check out:

1. https://www.earthclinic.com/remedies/acv_baking_soda_cures.html#tedrecipe

2. It's titled 'Ted's Recipe' in the Table of Contents on this page: https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/stomach-pain.html

3. Ted's Alkalizing Formulas
