Search not working in IE!!!!

EC: Thanks, DW. I just tested the EC Google search on Internet Explorer and it appears to be working fine on our end. Try clearing your history and cache and seeing if that helps. If it doesn't, close down IE and then restart it. Hopefully one of those 2 things will do the trick.

Deirdre

P.S. If anyone else is experiencing this problem, please let us know!

locating the products... Where would I find potassium bicarbonate? What form does it come in, for instance? Can you give me info as to what these testimonials are referring it? And they don't always say how often to drink etc. each glass of whatever like ACV & honey?

definition, aka needed: potassium citrite -- what is it also known as? example: sodium bicarb = baking soda

EC: Not sure if there is another name for this -- we're checking with Ted.

Besides being sold as a prescription drug, Potassium Citrate is also sold as a supplement. Here's one brand we found on iherb: http://www.iherb.com/productdetails.aspx?c=1&pid=2627&utm_source=gb&utm_medium=f3

abbreviations -- Great addition to the site, especially for newbies! As long as you're adding abbreviations, why don't you add the commonly abbreviated terms, such as BV, HBP, MRSA, etc.

EC: Great suggestion, thanks Kathy! Medical abbreviations list has been started: https://www.earthclinic.com/guides.html

Comments of meaning of words: Magnesium sulfate is - Epson Salts,
Sodium carbonate is - Washing soda, etc, I have a hard time trying to figure out technical names that Ted and others give for products I can relate to. Thank you, Jean

EC: Thanks for the suggestion, Jean! We got Ted to send us something (work in progress), which has just been posted here: https://www.earthclinic.com/guides.html. Let us know if you had something else in mind.

Hello, love the site. Thank you. I wonder if you could include a page of alphabetised abbreviations? Myself, and I am assuming other readers, don't always what they are or maybe they differ from country to country. Would be very much appreciated if you can manage it.

EC: Here's a work in progress: https://www.earthclinic.com/guides.html

We are going to revise our recommendations for daily use of apple cider vinegar. As you know, Earth Clinic has recommended the standard 2 teaspoons in 8 oz of water 3x a day for years now. For more severe conditions, we recommended 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in 8 oz of water 3x day. We are coming to believe, however, that less is more in the case of apple cider vinegar. Less vinegar, more water.

Our revision to this remedy is as follows:

2 teaspoons of organic apple cider vinegar
16 ounces of water
Sip, don't chug!

We now suggest 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in 16 ounces of water that you'll sip throughout the day, rather than drinking the whole concoction at once 3 times a day. You will be keeping your pH in a constant, alkalized state by sipping this highly diluted dosage. Usually one tall glass of the concoction is all you'll need each day.

If you drink a lot of water throughout the day, consider adding just a splash of apple cider vinegar to your glass/container each time you fill it up, rather than drinking the one, 16 oz glass of acv and water mentioned above.

For the record, we are not big fans of adding baking soda to apple cider vinegar, nor are we fans of adding any kind of sweetener to the acv/water solution. The baking soda works great for some people, but causes severe side effects in others.

Also, we know the B---- brand is the most popular apple cider vinegar on the market, but we've had just as good results using Whole Foods' organic and Trader Joe's organic apple cider vinegar.

We hope you will experience better, faster results with this revised remedy!

WOW have I been wrong? I was certain I read two TBSP ACV to sixteen oz. of water somewhere here on EC. I've been using the ACV with the mother...the brand begins with an "H". Am I allowed to give the name now? I've been here almost two years. PLEASE ADVISE

Thanks so much.

Book recommendation for those of you interested in brain chemistry and neuroplasticity... It's called: Susan Brown, a well known healer in Los Angeles. It is fantastic!

Review From Publishers Weekly:

"For years the doctrine of neuroscientists has been that the brain is a machine: break a part and you lose that function permanently. But more and more evidence is turning up to show that the brain can rewire itself, even in the face of catastrophic trauma: essentially, the functions of the brain can be strengthened just like a weak muscle. Scientists have taught a woman with damaged inner ears, who for five years had had "a sense of perpetual falling," to regain her sense of balance with a sensor on her tongue, and a stroke victim to recover the ability to walk although 97% of the nerves from the cerebral cortex to the spine were destroyed. With detailed case studies reminiscent of Oliver Sachs, combined with extensive interviews with lead researchers, Doidge, a research psychiatrist and psychoanalyst at Columbia and the University of Toronto, slowly turns everything we thought we knew about the brain upside down. He is, perhaps, overenthusiastic about the possibilities, believing that this new science can fix every neurological problem, from learning disabilities to blindness. But Doidge writes interestingly and engagingly about some of the least understood marvels of the brain. (Mar. 19)"

This message is to our beautiful community of EarthClinic readers: I believe it would be extremely helpful if we all make an effort to be more specific when we post a comment on a particular remedy. For example, there are so many Apple Cider Vinegar posts, that it would be helpful to know from the start, what ailment we are addressing. The title of the posts could read something like this: APPLE CIDER VINEGAR/INDIGESTION, or APPLE CIDER VINEGAR/GOUT, or APPLE CIDER VINEGAR/SCALP, or APPLE CIDER VINEGAR/ECZEMA, etc. In other words, when appropriate, let's not just use one or the other, but BOTH, combined!

I don't know if this has been suggested before, but I believe it would greatly help the reading audience following a particular remedy for a specific ailment. It seems to me it would also greatly help the dedicated EarthClinic's staff. I want to express my appreciation to the wonderful staff at EarthClinic for all the time and effort you put into running this awesome website. You all are doing a great job, and I am very thankful for it.

EC: Hi, Marea. Thanks for the great feedback. This is a programming issue that commenced when we went live with the new database in May. The title that shows up on the Latest Posts page is the same title that shows up on a particular ailment page (i.e., where the blue link takes you when you click on it). Ergo why you see APPLE CIDER VINEGAR again and again on the latest posts page. It is very irritating, we agree! We'll have to ask the programmer for a fix to this issue since we don't have an ability to create one title for the Latest Posts page and another title for the ailments. Our genius web programmer built a customized database to look as much as possible like the old site (still available for viewing at www2.earthclinic.com).. but take 7 years of pasting posts on multiple pages to fit various categories by hand and then try and create programs to order all of this information.. He ran into a lot of tricky issues as you might imagine!

Really like this wesite. I came across this while searching for homemade sunburn remedies for our horsed. I am delighted with all the dif info that is so helpful. The articles on avc just comfirms other publications I have read on its healing properties. A little paperback (Vermont Medicine) contains info in the use of acv not only for human consumption but for livestock as well. I will be visting this site often in the future.
