My observation is baking soda changes brain chemistry. I have been regularly drinking half a teaspoon of baking soda upon awakening, usually at 4-5am because I have many health issues of unknown origin. Every single time after I drunk the baking soda, I experience lucid dreams in that 1.5-2 HR sleep before morning. This made me think that it does change brain chemistry which in turn creates vivid dreams.
