ACV, Garlic and Ginger Tonic

I was researching natural remedies for abscessed tooth. I came across your site and started reading all the solutions posted. I had forgotten about the many uses of raw garlic.

My Uncle started us on a tonic of equal parts organic Apple Cider Vinegar and quality honey from a health food store and 1 clove minced garlic and a slice of minced ginger. We did this every morning in a shot glass and I was never sick for years. I have renewed faith that this is what I need to get back to. I have tried the essential oils and sometimes they work and sometimes they don't.

If you do a garlic tonic every day I think people would have better overall health. I know that I am going to get back to it right away. Thanks everyone for all of the information. Hope my little statement will help someone else.

Happy New Year, everyone!

I hope it is a wonderful 2016 for you all! Have you made any resolutions? Well, I am not one for resolutions, really. But it is a new year and an opportunity for a fresh start. Consider making one positive change for your health. Don't make a bunch of resolutions. Pick one thing to improve you health. Maybe commit to taking a daily walk. Or drinking more water each day. Maybe you need to heal a broken relationship. Commit to fixing that. It will be good for your soul and your body, too! If you make a resolution or a decision to make a positive change, consider adding accountability to the equation. My brother is a marathon runner. He had a friend who wanted to lose weight and he asked my brother to keep him accountable. Each of them kept track of their exercise (estimated calories burned) and my brother's friend had to burn a certain percentage weekly of what my brother burned. Over time, with accountability, his friend lost 100 pounds!

I had some accountability myself this morning. There was a little community 5K run today. My family decided to participate. I told my friend I would be there. So, even though I did stay up to welcome in the New Year with friends and family and got to bed way too late, I drug myself and my family to the starting line this morning and we all walked/ran. My 19 year old came in 3rd of 63. I tied for last, with my friend, my husband and my four year old! But we did it! It felt great! Oh, and we walked by they way. It was really quite fun and the accountability made all the difference. If I hadn't told my friend I was going, and told my kids I would take them, I would've stayed in bed for sure.

So, pick something to do to improve your health. Find someone to keep you accountable! And Happy 2016!

Love,

~Mama to Many~

My grandmother drank ACV every day of her adult life until she died at 101.5! She attributed her health and longevity to ACV.

Hello Nana;

Did you know that ACV with a little honey and consumed daily is called "Methuselah"? so reported in the classic book, "New England Folk Remedies."

ORH, as a detail of your great suggestion: exercise needs no gym, nor expensive gear. Anything around the house can be a exercise helper: bags of sugar are weights for beginners, a wall or later a table and later a floor, are great for wall/table/floor push ups, a strong bed can be gently trampolined upon, etc. You get the idea.

HI U DOIN Mmsg, , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Guess I missed my point as I was not talking about a gym.

Let me explain..... when we built our cabin back in '91, we put in a standard 5'X 7' sauna . We also installed a Jacuzzi tub. Since then we have added an Ozone generator and remodeled the sauna to a custom FAR sauna with a happy light. We have added facilities to do a coffee enema. We have recently added a ionic foot bath for detoxing. I have just ordered a Amethyst BioMat and that has to go to our bedroom because there is no more room in our bath. We also have a foot vibrator that we use for our lymph system.

Our workout equipment is out on the deck. I seldom use that stuff any more. Jus sorry.

HI U OLE PATOOTS DOIN, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

The stairs at our lake cabin are getting about as interesting as I can stand. We know that one day we will have to build a one level home at our farm. Tonight I decided to design that home and my first thought was to incorporate a health room that our present bathroom has become.

Problem is that the more I thought, the bigger this health room became. Have you ever seen a home designed with a heath room? Me neither. Almost all homes in Scandinavia have a Sauna and so do we. However, the more I thought, the bigger this room became.

All my friends that converted a room into a media extravaganza have all passed on. So we now know that the media thing will not extend your life. I suggest you all re-think your house design and convert it to what will prolong your life.

I am original in a number of things in my lifetime, but none have made me any money. This one won't either, but at least I know I've made a contribution.

So what am I saying? Designate a room in your house as a health room and fill it up with things that will help you live a better life.

Still stirring the pot. ===ORH====

To follow up ORH's idea of posting "wellness tips" to help us stay away from needing remedies, here's two things I've found:

1. Gelatin DOES help sore or "bad" knees, or keeps them from getting that way. For some people, even a teaspoon twice a day (melted in water, juice etc.) causes constipation. So even a 1/2 a teaspoon, twice a day, does the trick, at least in my experience.

2. Just like planting ONE veggie in a flowerpot on the porch, can give great satisfaction and health benefits - like having to squat to take care of them, a LITTLE bit of exercise here and there around the house/office accumulates and helps. Something simple to start with is getting up from and down into a sitting position, without using the handrests and doing it slowly, not plopping down or "ooomphing" up. This way, you actually learn to use your muscles.

EC: Thank you so much, Mmsg!
