Lung opacities can indicate many conditions besides cancer. Many times they are benign (noncancerous). They may be due to infections, hemorrhages, a history of smoking, and even COVID-19. Lung opacities are common.
Diane,
Regarding your question of whether inhalation of hydrogen peroxide(HP) can cause opacities of the lungs, the answer is yes, HP inhalation can cause them as outlined in the following research paper link below. I know it is not a popular opinion on EC and I have not previously brought it up for that reason, but you specifically asked the question and HP is a potent oxidant and when inhaled, it can do damage and much more than just opacities as further described in this 2019 research link about case reports :
Here is a relevant quote :
' Chronic inhalation of hydrogen peroxide is described in case reports as causing interstitial lung disease with radiographic images demonstrating septal line thickening, honeycombing, and traction bronchiectasis with associated ground glass opacification. '
I think it is important not to use too strong of a percent of HP solution and not to do it for too long because of the potent oxidative potential of HP. In the case report described, the patient had only used the HP inhalation for about a week.

Thanks, Art for that contrary report on inhalation of hydrogen peroxide. Although I feel the hp inhaling I've been doing for about 2 weeks now, seems helping me - contributing I think to my starting to jog again, since at least the past 2 years, I think it prudent to not make errors of commission and will take my chances with other remedies without proven side effects, however slight.
jake,
I mentioned it only because the question was posted. I do feel HP has health benefits myself and I use it, but only at 1% to a max of 1.5% max and only for very short durations. If I think I need a longer duration for effective treatment of a lung condition I will consider colloidal silver and possibly nebulized grapefruit seed extract.
An EC community member had asked me a few months ago about his use of oral intake of HP. He had reported following a posted dose escalation schedule, but before he could ever reach the max dose over time he said he started feeling sick, which wasn't supposed to happen. I think he said he was losing energy. I suggested he stop the HP for awhile to see how he felt after a few days as he could always restart the HP again later. He wrote back a few days later and said he was feeling better and his energy had returned. I asked him why he started taking the oral HP and he said to feel better and I said if it is not doing what you are taking it for, why continue taking it? I think he decided to stop because he was feeling good after taking a break from HP.
I explained to him that one of the purported benefits of HP is increased oxygenation that is derived from the breakdown of the HP by an antioxidant in the body called catalase, that breaks down HP into one oxygen molecule and two water molecules, but if a person does not have enough catalase available in their system to neutralize the HP in a timely manner, the HP can start to cause damage as it is a very potent oxidant. I suggested that perhaps his catalase levels were lower and unable to breakdown the HP.
Many people in the EC community have reported significant benefit from HP, but I think it is important to know that concentration is important and there may be some risks, at least in some people as the case reports suggest.

H2O2 Side Effects
C: Yes, there are some conditions that can be aggravated by H2O2 therapy.
First up on beginning H2O2 is making sure the body is properly alkalized. Acidic conditions cause hypoxia and visa-versa, so always be sure to properly alkalize.
Here a list come-to-mind of conditions that have the potential for bad reaction (hydroxyl radicals etc): Heavy Metals are not removed or detoxed by Hydrogen Peroxide and can produce toxic free radicals if coming into contact, so always do proper H.M. cleanses prior to Oxygen therapy.
Another condition would be a fairly common one of Aldehyde poisoning as a byproduct of candida or fungal infections. I don't have a degree in biochemistry but this combination looks not good. Another but somewhat rare condition is Mallonic Acid poisoning as a byproduct of tapeworm disease, could be reactive to H2O2.
It seems plausible that H2O2 therapy could be used in small amounts long-term, otherwise it would be indicated in increasing amounts (up to 25 drops 3% 2x per day) in acute cases like infections or cancer.
There are also other products that provide additional oxygen delivery like MMS and CellFood. Ozone is superior to H2O2 in many respects but has several shortcomings like instability and difficult administration. Also, adding alkaline rich Sodium Chlorite drops to a beverage naturally increases oxygen within the body.

C: YAW. Depending on factors like age, exposure, dental fillings, etc. one would fall into a category of mild-moderate-severe. To be exact, a Hair Mineral Analysis should be performed.

I put a tea spoon of H2O2 into half glass of water, placed my toothbrush in it for 1 minute then poured a little water on the toothbrush and washed my teeth and tongue with it. Did not swallow it but I guess I swalled some of it naturally. Then I checked the label and got scared cause I got a very slight stomach upset.
The bottle contains H2O2 3,1% - water -Alcohol Denat- Etidronic Acid - Phosphoric Acid - Disodium edta - Phenacetin - Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder.
Please tell me your opinion about it, how dangerous it is even though I might have swallowed not much.

H2O2 Side Effects
Now, almost a month later, my body quivers and anxiety has stricken my mind. There are times when my brain lapses momentarily. I suspect this is a result of the overdose and could use some clarification or confirmation and certainly some guidance. It was my mistake and no one's fault but my own (I was never good with details). Granted, there were extenuating circumstances which I can attribute to my recent anxiety (Hurricane Sandy's aftermath), however, I have not read anywhere what the consequences of taking too much FGHP are. I appreciate your help.
Mike: Oxygen can be toxic as it could produce dangerous free radicals, and this can happen only in a body deficient in reduction enzymes like Superoxide Dismutase, Catalse. The dose you took is the maximum advised oral dose that is supposed to be reached gradually (as you noted as a mistake). H2O2 is also administered I.V. by some holistic doctors and therapist, so there is a good safety record here. This episode doesn't seem disastrous but there does seem to be a need for response. Eat Wheat Sprouts or take as supplement for a few days, and also do some relaxation therapy and you should be just fine.

H2O2 Side Effects
Since taking HP for approx 4 months total, I have had painful boils, and cold and flu like symptoms, but the symptoms have escalated in the last 9 days. I have developed a deep cough, sore throat, very low energy almost like I have a virus or flu bug and can do very little work which I'm normally pretty high energy.
I do not throw up or have any intestinal discomfort. I have no fever, no sinus irritation. But a terrible nagging cough for 9 days. I purchased a Vicks Warm Mist humidifier yesterday to see if it will make me feel better, and stop the coughing, return my energy level.
Do I have a toxic build up? What would you suggest to get my energy back??
Everett
Everett, One would use H2O2 drops as a treatment phase but not long-term. Ideally you would want to slowly graduate from the H2O2 drops and begin using "antioxidants" (of which are many kinds) to insure protection for cells. Lots of good nutrition plus antioxidants would suffice any somewhat healthy person. Any of the many forms of detoxing are recommended on a routine basis to keep "clean" on the inside. Hope this helps.

Yes, you have a toxic build-up - but it's not caused by the H202. The H202 is triggering detox of toxins your body has accumulated over the years.
It is best not to stop the H202, but maybe reduce it for a while just to let your body continue to detox. Having been reading through the whole area on HP, time after time people post that the HP made them sick.
We have been brainwashed into believing that anything that makes us feel rotten is an 'illness'. No, it's just the body's way of off-loading what it doesn't want. The body will use any outlet it can to detox - coughs (lungs), colds (sinus/throat/nose), rashes, sores, boils, spots, zits, eczema, psoriasis (skin), diarrhea (bowels), cystitis (bladder) conjunctivitis (eyes), and will often send the toxins out through the nearest or best available outlet.
Because our lifestyles often prevent our bodies from being able to detox properly - the first sniffle gets us running to the Doc for a 'suppression' tablet - the toxins are often driven deep into the body rather than out of it.
HP gets the cells working far better - and far more able to detox. If people were to read far more information before jumping in to this, they would then understand what to expect.
It will pass, and keeping on with the HP, even a lower dose, will help it to detox faster. Stopping the HP can often just prolong the detox.
H2O2 Side Effects
My nearsightedness has suddenly gotten worse for near distance, for example, signs in supermarkets. My boyfriends' eyes have gotten a lot worse in conditions of glare and haze, he had photosensitivity before but it has become a big problem.
We stopped using the hydrogen peroxide in the humidifier because that is the only new variable.
Does anyone know if hydrogen peroxide caused these problems? At no time did our eyes feel irritated or did I feel he was putting in too much. If damage was caused, what would reverse it?

Both of your symptoms indicate that the "lens" of your inner eyeballs could be getting clouded over by cataract-like distortions.... possibly due to the h2o2 free radical damage [?].
There is a protein-glycogen substace called acetyl-L-cysteine [spelling?] that is being used as eye drops to reverse cataracts. Improves about 75% of people who try it.
search it on a scroogle search.

Remedies Especially for Cataracts
*The use of carrots is considered beneficial in the treatment of cataract. Take plenty of raw carrots daily or else drink two glasses of fresh carrot juice, one each in the morning and evening.
*Eat two or three cloves of raw garlic daily to clean the crystalline lens of the eye. The cloves should be chewed slowly.
*Extract the juice of pumpkin flowers and apply externally on the eyelids twice daily to prevent further clouding of the crystalline lens.
*Mix an equal quantity of aniseed and coriander powder together with one teaspoon of brown sugar, and take the mixture in doses of 12 grams in the morning and evening.
*Place a few drops of raw organic honey in the eyes twice or more each day. This is an ancient Egyptian remedy which is reported to have benefitted many people with cataracts.
*Finely grind seven kernels of raw almonds together with half a gram of black pepper and place in a half cup of water. Sweeten with raw honey and drink the mixture to help the eyes regain vigor and clarity.
*Twice daily, close your eyes and bathe them with hot (but not scalding) water containing Epsom salts. In addition, take an Epsom salts bath at least twice a week. Remain in the bath from twenty-five to thirty-five minutes till you perspire freely. After the bath, cool off gradually.
When it comes to eye remedies, the best results may well come from combining one or more of the suggested remedies.

ALPHA-LIPOIC ACID
Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) is a small organic molecule with a disultide bond. It is a superb antioxidant that is soluble in both water and fat. ALA is an important coenzyme for the production of acetyl coenzyme A. Dihydorlipoic acid (DHLA), it's reduced form, is an electron donor that recycles other fundamental antioxidants (vitamin C, vitamin E, and glutathione). ALA and DHJLA are superb free radical scavenger themselves because they neutralize peroxyle radicals [36], hydroxyl radicals [39] and singlet oxygen [38].
ALA is also a metal chelator that removes mercury from tissues [17], prevents calcium oxalate crystals (stones) from forming in the kidneys [21, chelates copper [28], and removes arsenic [18].
Lately, there has been a great explosion in ALA research. The lipoic acid/dihydrolipoic acid redox couple inhibits viral replication by stabilizing the NFK beta transcription factor [4], blocks the development of cataracts [24], protects the kidneys form aminoglycoside damage [35], insulates the pancreatic islet cells form inflammatory assault [7], inhibits thymocyte apoptosis [8], and stimulates the production of helper T cells [15]. In addition, the toxic side effects of cancer chemotherapy can be attenuated with the use of ALA [5] and it protects bone marrow from free radical damage secondary to ionizing radiation. [33].

H2O2 Side Effects
This is Sunny from India. I am a 35 year old woman with two kids aged 7 and 31/2 years. After my second son is born I got severe hyper pigmentation and Melasma and also my immunity came down and I put on 10 kg s of weight. I get frequent colds and cough which are so severe that I used to be on bed for at least two days a week. Then I saw Earth clinic and started Food Grade H2O2 therapy and also Baking Soda. I am using right now from past four months and I want to stop now as my sicknesses came down drastically. But one side effect is that my face and neck has turned to almost black after I started using H2O2 and Baking Soda. In a country where skin color and complexion is given predominant importance I am not even able to step out of the house. I tried many cosmetic treatments like laser, peels which only further aggravated my problem. They told me to avoid working with computer as it sends UV rays and increases pigmentation. They gave me many suggestions to avoid sun through windows also at home, avoid going out in the car too in daylight even with sunscreen. These are so impractical for my lifestyle and anyhow I am avoiding direct sun exposure. My rest of the body is a shade better as usual but it is also darkened a little after using H2O2. Only my face, neck and feet are very hyper pigmentated. So my now only hope is alternative and folk remedies. So Ted please help me why all this happened. Does H2O2 aggravate hyper pigmentation? Now my only help is YOU. So please reply at your earliest convenience. Thank you
Kind Regards
Sunny
Actually I have made update in the protocol here to make it more effective. I have a few cases of melasma that seems to respond better with the magnesium chloride solution remedy. Basically it is made of 60-70% magnesium chloride and 30 to 40% water. The solution is applied to the skin four or five times a day. So if the hydrogen peroxide did not work, the magnesium helped. There is another one that had similar problems and seems to respond to B2 100 mg, folic acid 10 mg and B12, but this one seems helped gradual clearing up of the skin after about a month of supplementation. It's important however that bowel movement is maintained at once or preferably twice a day, by taking perhaps 20 to 30 drops of magnesium, 30 minutes before meals. If there's enough cases of melasma, I can at least say which ones worked the best, but what I do know is in some cases of melasma, it turns out to be a vitamin B deficiency. That's why B2, B12, and folic acid works. However, some B50 vitamin B complex may need to be taken also, but that's usually twice a week or three times a week maximum to once a week minimum.

Here Ted posted as an update for the protocol to make it more effective. But there is no any protocol post. For me it seems there was a protocol post which he made and later updated it. EC, did you miss any of the Ted posts regarding this. Please look into it and clarify at your earliest convenience. You can e-mail me also. Thank you

EC: Hi Sunny,
Ted is probably referring to the remedies posted here: https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/melasma.html#TED
and here: https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/melasma_questions.html#Question_2347
H2O2 might aggravate hyperpigmentation, but I haven't seen a case here that had it. Magnesium chloride seems to be most consistent in resolving this but it is rather slow. In some cases if hyperpigmentation is due to sun exposure, usually aloe vera oil works, but is applied lightly. In yet another case, I found melasma came from a vitamin B deficiency, such as B2, riboflavin and was quickly resolved in a week or two. However, I prefer to try B2, with some vitamin B complex. Usually B2 dosage I used is about 100-250 mg.
