H2O2 Side Effects

Caution drinking Hydrogen Peroxide: I tried drinking less than a quarter capful of Rite Aid brand 3% hydrogen peroxide this morning in a 12 oz glass of water. I immediately felt my body tingling and I drank another glass of water to dilute the effect. Within minutes I felt a weird sensation and had to rush to the bathroom. I have been rushing to the bathroom practically all morning. I did not know whether to laugh or cry because I suffer from chronic constipation and I thought I welcome the frequent bathroom visits but not due to an upset stomach. I drank another glass of water and continued feeling funny. I went to Rite Aid and spoke to the pharmacist who told me I should be okay. I felt better after having a late breakfast. I have a sensitive stomach and I was told the HP may have been too much of an irritant for it. Just a word of caution if you are going to use 3% like I did for the first time, maybe you should start with one drop and see the effect or diarrhea and a racing pulse may be the side effect for a while. It is now about five hours later and I feel almost normal.

I would never ingest over-the-counter HP, because of the additives. That is probably what made you nauseous!

Over the counter 3.5% HP is NOT food grade, it is for topical use and has metallics in it that are harmful when consumed. 35% FOOD GRADE HP (diluted) is the only HP safe for consuming.

Carol, For help w/Cancer look into red grape cleansing & detoxing. See the book "the Grape Cure", by Johanna Brandt. www.thegrapecure.com

Also read about cayenne pepper and its powerful effects in healing/reversing cancer. Take 40,000 H.U.(capsule) 3x/p/day to start, and best after a meal or with apple juice, do not take on empty stomach, it will be uncomfortable. Best success & blessings to you. S.

Greetings, I have been doing research on Oxygen Therapy and sure enough your site was the first to come up.

In an article you state "To quote from the article: "The idea behind ingesting hydrogen peroxide stems from a now-discredited theory that cancer and AIDS thrive on a lack of oxygen in the body." ....

Upon further investigation I have found studies that discredit the claim that cancer thrives on a lack of oxygen on the body. I reference you to Aisenberg, A. Energy Pathways of Hepatoma No. 5123. Nature 191 pages 1314-1315. 1961.

I would also like to reference you to http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/Cancer/oxygen.html

I have checked a number of these sources and have found them to be valid. I do not intend to argue the claims of the effectiveness of H2O2 used by some of your subscribers, as it clearly has worked for them. Rather I wish to argue the means by which it is effective. H2O2 is rapidly degraded by normal elements in the body, superoxide dismutase for instance. Any amount of H2O2 taken into the body is quite negligable, and furthermore has no appreciable affect of O2 concentrations in the blood. Tom

WARNING!

Hydrogen peroxide was once used for cleaning wounds but research has shown it is too harsh for wound care. It kills healthy tissue, is cytotoxic, and actually delays wound healing. Unfortunately, some health professionals have not kept current on changes in wound care and still recommend H2O2. I cannot comment on the other clains on your page, but H2O2 for wound care is definitely inappropriate.

I read a lot about curing candidiasis. Cures are often so complicated that one becomes ill by reading them. How about H2O2 ? How to use it, what to eat - not to eat - during the cure ?

Hi Guibert, Google Donna Gates or go to The Body Ecology Diet on facebook and there is a whole system in place that tells you exactly what to do when and what to eat/not eat all set up for you! It's really quite amazing and well thought out with lots of recipes and ideas to help with cleaning the body but very much with candida in mind as well. Hope this helps you, Lisa

I believe you are only supposed to use 3%. 35% is way too strong. Dilute your peroxide to 3%.

Good luck

If the goal of peroxide therapy is to flood the body with oxygen, would an oxygen machine given for bronchitis work just as well? Thank you!

Mouthwash

★★★★★

I use over the counter 3% hydrogen peroxide as a mouthwash, but have always disliked the aftertaste. I purchased a bottle of peppermint oil from the baking section of my local market, and put one tablespoon in an eight ounce bottle of 3% hydrogen peroxide. Mouth feels very clean (and now minty fresh, too!) Others may like to add their favorite flavors, increasing or decreasing the measurement according to taste. Make sure to GENTLY shake your bottle before opening to keep peppermint oil evenly distributed, and keep your mouthwash in an opaque bottle (I use the same brown bottle purchased at the dollar store). Refrigerate if your bathroom is very warm, and keep bottle out of direct sunlight.

Hi, I have hard about the use of hydrogen peroxide food grade 35%, it is said that it should be diluted with water. No one seems to give the the quantity of water to be used as against the number of drop per day as u go progressively. What I mean is, if u are to us one drop of H2O2, what is the quantity of water to be used. And when increase the H2O2 what will be the quantity of water. Can H2O2 cure herpes permenently? What is the protocol for taken it and the method of usage. Thanks

I tried the Hydrogen Peroxide for Melasma: I've done 5 treatments, 20 minutes on the affected areas and it has substancially faded. I have it quite bad on forehead, cheek area, upper lip. I have also done the glycolic peels, Tri-Luma cream, etc. with no results. I am amazed this is working, and trying to determine if I can continue this to control the melasma.

I'm still skeptical about using over the counter hydrogen peroxide for internal use. I read the label and it did say distilled water but it also said this contains stabilizers do not ingest. I've read on the site that many people are using the stuff anyway. I can't find 35% food grade around here. I have my daughter rinsing with peroxide and her gums are looking so much better, less redness. Do most of you all really use the walmart brand of hydrogen peroxide with no problems and if so how long have you used it? I'm talking about inhaling it and also using the drops in water.

L from colorado. The only place you are going to find 35% food grade Hydrgen peroxide is in a health store or on the web. You will not find it at walmart, or in any drug store. I found 35% in 3 health stores here in Ohio and it was like $16.00 for a quart. I looked everywere and that is were i found it. so good luck.

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

I have just bought an ozonator. I drink one glass of water per day after ozonating for five minutes and drinking immediately. My energy levels have risen dramatically! I am using the ozonated water to clean everything - much cheaper than buying products. One thing though, my hands just came up in dark blue blotches like dark blood. Anybody know why this would be?

WARNING!

There is a problem using Hydrogen Peroxide on fresh wounds and cuts. The foaming action that you have been told is the 'dirt' being bubbled out is actually the destruction of the 'first responding cells'. the good guys. Destroying those cells is why it takes 30% longer for the wound to heal. The longer the wound takes to heal means more scaring will result. Remember your mom saying not to pick your scabs??? That it would cause a scar. She was right. The older you are, the slower you heal, and this results in more scaring. ALL recent wounds take up more solar radiation and this stimulates the 'tanning' cells. This results in an area that tans quicker than the area around the healed wounds. it takes 6 months for the skin to mature to normal thickness. If you doubt this take a look at the shin area of your leg. In the early exposure to sun will cause your old scars to tan faster. eventually the rest of the shin catches up in the level of tan. On you leg this is no big deal but on your cheek or chin it is. it will show every spring. So if you use a 50 sun block for 6 months you can avoid this livelong problem.

Rinsing with hydrogen peroxide on a regular basis can cause black hairy tongue. Google it. It's a really gross condition where your tongues papilla become infected, elongated and discolored.... And the main cause is regular use of mouth rinse containing peroxide. There are natural mouth rinses available if you dont like listerine. Don't be cheap and risk getting something gross like black hairy tongue.

I noticed that the hydrogen peroxide that I used to buy in the supermarket used to use ionized water, which tested ph 7.0.. Now it only has purified water which does not test alkaline, so I add a pinch of baking soda to make it ph 7.0. I don't know why they stopped using ionized water and replaced it with purified water. I use it for everything internal and external. I love the way my teeth feel after brushing with hydrogen peroxide. Good breath freshener.

I started rinsing my mouth with hydrogen peroxide 3% and noticed a difference within a couple of days!! I don't know if it stopped the gums from receding but it sure took the sensitivity away. I would definitely recommend trying. I rinse a small amount twice then rinse with water once a day. I don't even do it everyday and I haven't had any pain

I just found this site and read this reply and wanted to add that I use the peroxide to brush my teeth. First I wash out my mouth with the peroxide, then spit the peroxide on my brush and then brush away. I make sure I don't swallow any. Sometime I will do the same thing with the mouthwash that is supposed to stop plaque build up and then use the peroxide again.

In my previous email to you, I forgot to mention:

1. I stopped drinking tap water and started drinking purified water when I was doing my Hydrogen Peroxide therapy.

2. I tried applying the Raspberry Skin Cream well known to cure skin cancer to the cancerous growths on my face for weeks, but it didn't work for me - I noticed no difference. I have heard the Raspberry Skin Cream worked well for many people after about two weeks.

3. Also I forgot to mention when I started my Hydrogen Peroxide I also started using air purifier that is running 24/7 in my bedroom.

Sorry to hear about your illness.

However, Food grade hydrogen peroxide is not carcinogenic it is used in breads pastries, noodles all over the world. Did you use Food grade hydrogen peroxide? However I like to look at both sides. My MD gave me hydrogen peroxide IV's so he is an specialist and he really knows his chemistry. Then again sometimes we think things are safe then it comes out it is not

  • The Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) had evaluated the safety of hydrogen peroxide in 1that ingestion of small amount of hydrogen peroxide would produce no toxicological effects due to rapid decomposition of the chemical by the enzyme catalase of the intestinal cells.

  • Regarding the carcinogenicity of hydrogen peroxide, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) considered that there was inadequate evidence for carcinogenicity in human.

I thought you would be VERY interested in the link below. A company in my area, Steris (A world leader in fighting infection and contamination.), is using Hydrogen Peroxide to sterilize hospitals, emergency rooms, emergency response vehicles, etc.. I saw a demonstration of the unit to sterilize emergency vehicles. they close up the unit tight, all doors and windows. They then pump a dry vapor form of hydrogen peroxide through the vehicle. After, they simply open the vehicle , and let out the vapor. Done. I asked why they weren't using regular hydrogen peroxide. I was told it could corrode medical devices, and electrical connections. Thought it would greatly interest you guys. http://www.steris.com
