Commonly known as Urine therapy, used in India and even since the biblical times, they have been using urine to drink and to use in skin also.

Of course our society find this hard to accept, so we go to a more cleaner solution in finding the active components of why urine is so effective.

Basically it is the urea component and the osmolarity of sodium and potassium. However in certain bacteria, such as e. coli, which is most resistant are more sensitive to urea components than it is for the ammonia (in the urine), the osmolarity(salts), or the pH. In this case, we can consider that urea, which is available found in a local fertilizer, is the active components against certain bacteria. You can perhaps buy them yourself and use that as a skin lotion or antiseptic solution using a urea, and perhaps a concentrated sea salt solution added. This is the closest artificial urine without using the real thing.

Urea is most effective when urine pH is between 5.5 to 6.5 for e.coli. But this may not be true for other bacteria.

However, it is interesting to note that you can increase urea by eating very salty fishes to increase urea (a protein by product) which will increase both urea, and osmolarity enough to kill the urinary tract infection by something as simple as the food we eat. For me at least just a tablespoon of sea salt would kill the urinary tract infection, but it won't work for everyone. So perhaps eating fishes would invariably increase the urea, plus some cranberry juice, where its active component in my opinion comes from the benzoate found naturally in the cranberry.

Another component of urine, which is in much smaller amount is hydroxyurea, which is basically a reaction between hydroxylamine hcl with baking soda, and can actually be found in urine and also have some antibacterial and antiviral components too. Some conventional medicine use this for anti-cancer treatment, but in my opinion the dose is way too high and should lower the dose but with higher bicarbonates instead.

Different organisms have different sensitivity necessary to reduce their numbers and may effect a kill, either salts (osmolarity), pH (usually alkalinity), or certain biological by products such as urea.

It not sup rising that many cosmetic preparation often add about 10% urea also to help with the skin or another form of such as Diazolidinyl Urea in most skin preparations.

It is probably why urine therapy was used in the olden times for cancer and other conditions, it is perhaps the urea, as well as the antioxidant charges (most urine oxidation reduction potentials are often negative in value, while most of the food we drinks are strongly positive in value) and therefore an oxidant. There are other components too, besides that. I cut and paste a simple study on just urea on its effect of e.coli, in case you are wondering why urine works. I prefer a more chemical means of using urea directly, perhaps because of my chemistry background and that I haven't quite yet grown accustomed to using them in the original form! Ted

Antibacterial activity of human urine

Abstract
The fate of bacteria in human urine was studied after inoculation of small numbers of Escherichia coli and other bacterial strains commonly implicated in urinary tract infection. Urine from normal individuals was often inhibitory and sometimes bactericidal for growth of these organisms. Antibacterial activity of urine was not related to lack of nutrient material as addition of broth did not decrease inhibitory activity. Antibacterial activity was correlated with osmolality, urea concentration and ammonium concentration, but not with organic acid, sodium, or potassium concentration. Between a pH range of 5.0-6.5 antibacterial activity of urine was greater at lower pH. Ultrafiltration and column chromatography to remove protein did not decrease antibacterial activity.

Urea concentration was a more important determinant of antibacterial activity than osmolality or ammonium concentration. Increasing the urea of a non inhibitory urine to equal that of an inhibitory urine made the urine inhibitory. However, increasing osmolality (with sodium chloride) or increasing ammonium to equal the osmolality or ammonium of an inhibitory urine did not increase antibacterial activity. Similarly, dialysis to decrease osmolality or ammonium but preserve urea did not decrease inhibitory activity. Decreasing urea with preservation of ammonium and osmolality decreased antibacterial activity. Removal of ammonium with an ion exchanger did not decrease antibacterial activity, whereas conversion of urea to ammonium with urease and subsequent removal of the ammonium decreased antibacterial activity.

Urine collected from volunteers after ingestion of urea demonstrated a marked increase in antibacterial activity, as compared with urine collected before ingestion of urea.

God created man with all its potentials to free it's self from all type of terrible disease. you might notice in my english i'm not so good in writing. but what i know in my brain is better than writing. just want to let those who've been suffering from genital herps know that the cure is in you and it's not up to MONEY LEVEL. it's just simple the UT. urine therapy. I've been suffering from this genital herps which i thought at one time to be untreatable for a good number of years. if i want to list out the different types of pharmaceutical intoxication drugs that i've spent my money in buying, then i need to open a website to contain all. right up to this great day when i read about Urine therapy and genital herps. i started it immediately and 4 days later the size became like a dot. every time i wanted to urinate, i simple urinate in a clean glass, then pour it on the herps that took me no franc but my determination to get rid of it. i've been doing this now for almost 2 yrs regarding the symptoms but the herps disappeared and never show any sign of returning again.

I tried every remedy on the internet i could find. I read about urine therapy on the same and tried it immediately. After two months of drinking 3 cups every morning of my own urine you should see the brand new fungus free toenails that have grown in, absolutely free. I hope this message gets sent to other sufferers because it is the best cure that does work almost immediately, I believe I started seeing results within the first 3 days. Just look up urine therapy on google if you are still skeptical. Thank you.

I have become fascinated by urine therapy and micronised zeolite powder. I have tried combining both with alkalized/ionized water. Amazingly, my urine ORP and pH dramatically improved in just one day. My ORP went from -ve 20 mV to -ve 120 mV and my pH went from about 6.6 to 7.5 (1st morning urine is about 6.8).

I have been focusing on alkalizing for about 6 months now. The changes I have noticed are:

1. A large 15 year-old wart on my thigh has disappeared.

2. Fungus in my toenails have grown out.

3. The bad arthritis in my right knee (from a cartilage removal) is now substantially better - I may be able to avoid a knee replacement.

4. My chronic insomnia problem (and depression) has virtually disappeared.

5. Candida symptoms have disappeared.

And after my partner started to take the zeolite, her liver tests and blood pressure improved substantially in two weeks. Research shows it has been successfully used for cancer and liver diseases.

An associate used the zeolite powder as a skin treatment (as a clay mask) for psoriasis and it was mostly cured within 6 weeks. It makes a great clay mask for skin treatment.

I tried urine therapy about 4 years ago after hearing about it from a friend of mine, a kundalini yoga instructor. I decided what the heck, sounds disgusting, but the health benefits sound great! So there I was, drinking my urine first thing in the morning. After 48 hours I got a rash on my stomach that lasted about 2 months. I did this for about 3 weeks. I then asked my doctor to give me a blood test to make sure everything looked okay. He called me immediately upon receiving the results to tell me my uric acid levels were very high and I could develop kidney stones. I was too embarrassed to tell him it was probably caused by drinking my own piss. NO WAY! At any rate, I stopped the therapy right away (I never experienced any health benefits from it) and my uric acid levels went back to normal. I still NEVER admit that I have tried this therapy!

Now most people react like I did when I first heard about this. I remember I heard it on the radio one morning and I thought, I am open minded but I could never imagine doing that. So then a few years later I came across it again, starting doing some research. Read about 15 books on it and thought, hmm maybe I should try this. What was/is it. Urine therapy. Now if you are now quite ready to ingest it there are still many ways to use it. I always put a drop in my eyes in the AM, I have never worn glasses and feel it does good. But sometimes when my eyes get dry or sore it is really amazing the relief from this.

NOw the other use is for shaving, my face. Yes I heard this and thought, I can't imagine this working on my face, I have a somewhat heavy beard and sensitive skin. Well I thought instead of spending $10 on Shaving cream, I buy the good stuff from Whole Foods, I would try it. Well it was truly amazing, I thought my face would be really red and scratchy afterwards becuase it is so light but it works amazingly well. Here is how I do it. I use my AM pee and try to use it while still warm, if not I keep it and reheat it in a cup in hot or warm water. Then I have a glass of Warm Pee, and a glass of hot water. I get my face wet with warm water and then sometimes splash my face with Pee/ or not, and then I dip my razor in the glass of Pee and make one or two strokes. Then I rinse it off in the hot water. I do this so my sink doesn't get smelly. It typically takes me 7 minutes to shave. I have to be careful not to let the urine run down my chest because once it gets in your hair, it really stays and well I don't really want to smell like Pee all day. Hey that's just me. The most convenient way is when I use it in the shower and then it usually gets washed down the sink and there is no smell.

I will also just use it as splash on my face.

Hope this doesn't freak ya'll out too much. I have many more stories and experience with it. Contact me if you like.

Any urologist will tell you that urine as it comes from the stream is a "sterile" fluid containing mostly vitamins, minerals, proteins, hormones, with some urea. Urea is not something that can be taken in large amounts, but is the same product you will find in a cream from the drug store if you have gotten a prescription for foot fungus. Yes peeing on your foot can clear up fungus. Someone said it is dirty, disgusting and "these people need educated". Andrea you are the one that needs educated. The urea is a prime source of cure for many fungal problems and other types of ailments. For over 5000 years it has shown to be effective in many ways. Just as acupunture is known to work by modern medicine, so has urine therapy found a medical following in doctors and researchers. Yes it is strange to many and that is way many don't mention it. Does it work and is it clean? Yes ! Or I should say "yes" as long was the urine you use is yours and you don't have a urinary tract infection. Sharing someone else's urine would be a bad choice.

Urine therapy works. I remember feeling depressed, anxious, and cloudy headed, unable to concentrate. I drank about a cup of my own urine, and literally minute later felt a rush of energy and this sense of happiness come over me. Urine therapy and taking a cold shower for 60-seconds are amazing cures for a lot of health problems. It's not disgusting--just hold your nose and drink it in the shower. It will cure your physical problems and eliminate your depression. There's books written about it, too. Get them at your local library or from Amazon. Thanks! Kris http://www.curebug.com

Kris Kemp's urine therapy comment reminded me of Paul Harvey's news I was listening to on the way home one morning. Paul had somehow learned about an Asian male that customs officials had stopped and intensely interrogated over several hours. At the end if their interrogation, they told the man that the reason they had stopped him and questioned him was because they thought he was using someone else's passport because he looked so much younger than the age on his passport and added that he gave correct answers to all their questions, so they had to accept it, and asked how he could look so young at his age. His reply was that the only thing that he did different from most people was drinking a glass of his urine every day. Paul said he got to wondering if there was anything in your urine that would do that and called a friend in medical research and asked him if drinking a glass of your urine daily would make you look younger. His friend replied that he couldn't answer that because he did not know of any studies that had ever been done on that. Paul said he then asked if his friend had ever tasted urine. to which he replied "Yes indeed I have & it tastes remarkedly like beer". I laughed the rest of the way home because I've always said they could put all the beer back in the horse". For those of you who are finicky, read the ingredients on your expensive face cream & you'll find urea listed there. For the curious, like me, you don't need to go buy a book or to the library, just google "urine therapy" for a good read and urine analysis.

My inner guide clearly instructed me to "Drink water from my own cistern" as quoted in Genesis about seven years ago. I am under the impression that since urine is basically structured water. If one adopts a diet of living foods, than the chemistry structure of the urine's cell salts will mirror what is going in. What we are after is optimal health. Google hexagonal water and ionized water, and watch uTube videos on these subjects and the testimonies of people having miraculous recoveries seem to go always go back to high oxidative potential (ORP) and alkalinity of drinking water. But, I do not see too much research on urine, which does not require the purchase of an expensive ionizer or Vitalizer. I am not knocking these machines, but I am wondering if they are really necessary for us folks who "drink from our own cisterns." Nonetheless, Life is an odyssey, and the powers that be will guide each one of in a unique way. Blessings, James

To Rhonda from Tallahassee 7/30/07 re urine therapy. Hi Rhonda, Browsing Earth Clinic and came across your query re urine therapy. I haven't gotten past the "yuk" thinking myself but can help out by passing on second hand information which I found very informative.

In the absence of a urinary tract infection, urine is a sterile solution. Prior to WWI, and maybe after, it was uncouth for a soldier/ warrior to pass up a wounded comrade without stopping to urinate in/on his wound to cleanse it. I have also been told that when plasma was unavailable at the battlefront, urine was given IV, to replace lost blood volume in emergency situations, thereby saving many lives. Come to think of it, maybe that is what the USA anethesiologist was thinking about when some nurses reported that they observed him urinating into a container while in the operating room and adding it to the patient's IV fluids. Apparently it caused the patients no harm but it did create some problems for the anethesiologist. Somehow IV urine seems more appealing than oral urine.

There is a book titled "Your Own Perfect Medicine" which will tell you all about urine therapy and the chemical contents of urine, and many positive testamonials from users who should know- one I recall was a fellow with full blown AIDS and looked, and said he felt fine, 14 years after his initial diagnosis - but this didn't occur until after he started the urine therapy & found it worked. Another I remember was a female with severe rheumatoid arthritis who also sang its praises. I did suggest that a friend with Parkinson's disease try it as a last resort, because orthodox medicine had accelerated the downhill slide instead of halting it. If he ever got up the courage to try it, he didn't tell me about it. He went to the big family reunion over a year ago. From reading about it, the worst side effect would be getting past that "YUK".

The only other information I can pass on came from listening to the radio on the way home one morning (PBS I think) when that melodious voiced Paul Harvey came on. He went into detail about some Asian fellow who was stopped by customs officials at the airport and intensively interogated for several hours before letting him proceed on to his destination. PH said the customs officials told him that the reason they stopped him was they couldn't believe that he was as old as stated on his passport when he looked so much younger, but since he gave them all the correct answers they had to accept that the passport was actually his and asked him what he did to look so young. The man's answer to that was the only thing he did different from others he knew, was that he drank a glass of his own urine every day.

PH said he got to wondering and called a friend in medical research and asked him if there was anything in urine that would keep you looking young if you drank it. His answer was that he couldn't answer that question because as far as he knew, no study had been done on that. PH said he then asked his friend if he had ever tasted urine himself. The answer was "yes, indeed I have and it tastes remarkably like beer".

Beer, in my opinion, should be put back in the horse, but maybe this little bit of second hand information can help you "beer lovers" get past the "YUK" bit, if you ever need "Your Own Perfect Medicine".

One further bit of information, a patient told me that drinking your own urine as medicine came from the Bible. Where it speaks of "drinking from your own fountain" was interpreted as drinking your own urine. During the past year I read that one survivor was rescued past the point of expecting to find anyone buried in the rubble (earthquake) to be alive. This was somewhere in India. Sadly he said his wife and son also survived the quake but died because they refused to drink their urine as he did. Of course this would be due to dehydration.
