Regarding diluting dmso for topical application, usually 50% dilution is good but everyone is different so just experiment.

To take dmso by mouth you can either put it in large cellulose capsules 1mL at a time and swallow them before they melt (in a minute), or you can just dilute it in enough water. 1mL in a liter of water is hard to taste. But you might want to use more, so in that case capsules and topical.

To avoid smelling bad, take extra magnesium and drink ( raw goat preferably) milk. Lots more info from the yummy.doctor website or in the book DMSO:Nature's Healer.

I just starting using dmso. I had an ingrown toe nail and applied dmso straight from the bottle and in a day and a half, it's resolved itself.

I'm using it straight from the bottle for my inner thigh psoas muscles and don't seem to have any reaction from it. I'm looking forward to more issues to be solved with dmso.

Hello Mrs Hill from Arkansas...When you paint DMSO + aloe vera onto your skin it is a unique characteristic of DMSO that it will transport the aloe vera through the skin transdermally and into the blood. DMSO is able to do this by increasing the porosity or permeability of the individual skin cells which are then able to allow passage of the aloe vera through the skin cells as well. It is this sudden increase in skin porosity or permeability that causes the warm feeling on your skin which is nothing to worry about and is entirely normal when using DMSO topically.

When you paint the DMSO and aloe vera onto your skin, make sure that this area is not sopping wet with DMSO +aloe vera. All you need is a thin damp layer painted onto the skin for best effect.

There is also no reason why you shouldn't use the DMSO in a sprayer. But please be aware that DMSO can dissolve some plastics. So if you're not sure then perhaps best to use a glass sprayer. So using colloidal silver and DMSO in a glass sprayer should be fine.

DMSO and Aloe Vera

I have recently bought Aloe Vera juice and put it with DMSO.

I really haven't noticed that it helps do much of anything but it hasn't hurt anything either. Even if it is just an inert substance, it still can play a role in my tinctures.

Aloe vera juice is a way to cut the DMSO to a lesser strength and for all I know, it may help something. So I am using Aloe Vera Juice in my blends now for topical application.

It may help soothe the skin but I don't see that it stops the irritation when used with DMSO cut with it.

My experiments with DMSO and Aloe Vera juice have been Straight DMSO with 30% Aloe; 40% and 50 % blends and I don't find any reduction in irritation.

When I add this to the Cayenne extract and make a blend of that. I find no irritation at all but I get the side effect of warmth where the blend is applied and it feels quite good. So a bottle filled with 50% Cayenne extract and 25 % DMSO and 25% Aloe Vera juice and a tiny spot of glycerin has a really good effect, mild.

I heated it up today by applying straight cayenne extract on top of the blend and it draws moisture and really heats up nicely on the skin. In summary, I can't tell what Aloe Vera does but I like what I read about it and it is a God-made plant it is a leaf. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations from Revelation chapter twenty two.

Hi guys, It is a heart breaking story. It makes me outraged that something so healing has been suppressed by those who were originally meant to promote the public interest. Of course we see this with many cheap, unpatentable therapies such as oxygen, IV vitamin c for cancer, using your own blood that has been subjected to uv light for hidden viruses etc. The list of forbidden, cheap, life saving herbs and therapies is quite long. If we had better education about and access to these things all chronic illness would be much easier to cure. Pharmaceuticals and surgery would become virtually obsolete.

After reading about DMSO for years, I finally ordered a book on the subject (published in 1993) and also ordered DMSO from a veterinary supply store (found both on amazon.com)... I am really enjoying the book. The one thing that turned me off from trying DMSO all this time was the complaint that you end up smelling of garlic or clams. Now that I have tried it, I want to know what the heck people are talking about!!! There is NO garlic or clam smell emanating from my breath or pores as many have warned!

On Saturday I applied DMSO to both of my knees, which are feeling shot lately (my early gymnastic years and my later karate years have really done a number on them, I guess). My knees felt a little numb after I applied the DMSO (with gloves and a cotton ball), but I certainly felt increased circulation to the area. I couldn't really tell a difference the next day about whether they helped or not. Last night I tried magnesium oil rubbed all over my knees and I could absolutely feel a difference this morning. So I may end up trying mag oil mixed in DMSO at some point.

Thanks to Phil from Dearing, GA's suggestion about grapefruit seed extract for nail fungus, I have been applying GSE for the past few weeks, twice a day. Can't tell if it's working, but I know these fungus remedies take months to see results. Anyway, I started spraying on DMSO and then drizzling grapefruit seed extract onto my big toe a few days ago. I know it's penetrating because not even a minute later, I can taste the extremely bitter taste of the GSE in my mouth. The bitter taste lasts for hours! I am quite excited about this needless to say and all the possibilities. For one, I look forward to trying a contributor's feedback about DMSO mixed in ground up B12 and sprayed on to the wrist pulse points for energy.

I also have some feedback about using DMSO on my dog's hotspot (phenomenal results), but will post to the pet's section instead of here.

I also use DMSO successfully for herpes. If an outbreak starts I put DMSO in the base of the spine and also on the sores themselves. Another great discovery I made recently is that my iron stores get low and this is why I am prone to getting outbreaks. The virus and my immune system compete for iron!

I put my 50/50 DMSO & distilled water into a 2 oz. glass bottle with sprayer and spray the areas I want to use it on. I then rub it in. I have been using it for 3 days this way with no irritation anywhere, including my hands that I don't wash after. I haven't noticed a ton of results yet but I think some minor benefits so far. I am also adding a pinch of Borax in my coffee in the morning. I had to take ibuprofen today because I couldn't walk on my swollen, inflamed feet. How long before I see more results? What is the average time for these protocols to work.

DMSO thins the blood, naturally. Way better than warfarin or coumadin. There are books on it by Naturopathic doctors and such, attesting to its healing qualities. Here is my experience:

Had a hard fall mostly on my shin, it hurt but I got up by myself and walked away as I had errands to do. Got home 2 hrs later, noticed my leg didn't hurt anymore and was surprised to see it had swollen to 1.5x its size! I did icepacks, elevation & acv/epsom salt soaks. I also applied DMSO 4x a day.

About a week later I was on a flight sitting beside a doctor, still swollen. He thought it could be DVT related and told me to see a Dr. Not wanting to take warfarin or coumadin, I stepped up the DMSO (rubbed on leg only) to every 2 hrs, and arranged to drink 3 or 4 750ml bottles of water one afternoon/night, and the next day my leg was back to almost-normal.

I have a good lymph system, I've been told. I wanted to open the dam sluices and get that excess water out! I peed alot that night. Only I could tell there was still a little swelling left at the ankle, which was gone soon after. I boarded my next flight the next day with no problem with my leg.

I haven't seen DMSO mentioned as a blood thinner, so I wanted to mention it is worth asking a Naturopath about and looking into on your own.

Best of Healing, everyone.

I used DMSO on a skin cancer spot, and I added a lot of vitamin C, and it cured the spot. Vitamin C kills viruses, and the DMSO helped it to absorb since it is an industrial solvent. It goes to the bottom, and a little more. Antiviral herbs and DMSO would work, too, maybe.

I do not subscribe to the dilute above the waist and not below stuff. I use DMSO on my knees regularly and always put on a thin layer of castor oil first. This helps with protecting my skin AND from half the DMSO being soaked up by the skin in my hand on the way to my knees! DMSO is a solvent and it wants IN! The one time I forgot the castor oil and used the stuff straight, and the skin on my kneecaps was red and scaly. I threw every healing oil I have at it, and the stuff that worked overnight was av-ee-no lotion. Please so not use DMSO straight unless you're diluting, and that just seems its more trouble than it's worth.

Tip: do take a moment and rinse the stuff off your hands after or they'll look pickled later for a little while. I don't like this sensation so I always wash it off.

Best of healing to you!

DMSO Activates Old Antibiotics

HI U OLE PATOOTS DOIN, , , , , , yep , I'm back on the beach getting my dose of Vitamin D from the sun , Magnesium from the gulf , negative ions from the waves to neutralize my free radicals. All compliments of our Lord.

I am also rereading my book on DMSO and retention is only about 20% when you read. Well, I missed this point on the first go round, but it really hit home on my second reading.

All know that bacteria and virus, etc. mutate and become immune to antibiotics. Ain't that right? Listen up, because this is the good news. Studies show that when you use DMSO with old antibiotics they become effective again. Is that great or what? The problem is that the patents have also run out and the old antibiotics are now dirt cheap..... so there is no incentive to re-engerize them. We must have new suff that is patentable so we can all go to the pore house.

All is not lost because what I am 'ciphering from this is that anything you use to address an infection or such will be enhanced by toping it off with DMSO. I don't think that statement is a stretch, but you the doctor and you make the call.

Me, I do DMSO to take things into my body and fixing to use it with my nebulizer for things that I do through my lungs. Maybe I'll become as famous as our idol, Bill Munro. If I keep posting then it worked. If not, then it did not work.

Tired of fresh shrimp and seafood gumbo so I'm grilling steaks tonight. Eat your heart out.

HI U KAREN, , , , , , , , , , Seems to me that you might be getting caught up in stuff that is much to do about nothing. I buy my DMSO from Dr Jacobs and he is Mr. DMSO and states that DMSO in a poly bottle is good, but if you got a hang up, then he will ship it in a glass container for $ 5 more. He did all the original research on DMSO for Crown Zellerbach back in the 60's . What are your credentials?

What you have to watch is that most compounds distill off at a certain purity and if you want it higher then it is done by it is done by removing the water by decanting with a solvent. When I was a poor whipper snapper at Ga Tech and in Organic Chemistry, instead of stealing ethanol at 95% , I stole the the Absolute ethanol at 100%, because that had to be better. The more I stole for our Frat parties, the worse I felt.

The next summer I had a grad student teaching the class. He covered Absolute 100% ethanol, which was made by decanting the water from the 95% by using benzene and this left traces of benzene in the Absolute. Benzene is accumulative in your body and when you reach 10 grams , then you die. After that lecture , I went to him after class and explained what a friend of mine had done by stealing from the Organic Lab.

He had been down a few dusty road and told me very emphatically not to ever do that again. Since I's SJS , I never did, but I have always wondered how many grams of benzene I do have.

The lady who buys her 99% DMSO from the Farm Co-op will get no flack from me and I question your problem with it.

DMSO and Aloe Vera
Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Philippines ) on 02/08/2013

Hi Susan... The preferred method of using aloe vera with any DMSO topical protocol is to apply the DMSO protocol first, let it be absorbed into the skin and the skin is dry, then apply the aloe oil on the skin afterwards. The aloe vera helps to rehydrate the skin and prevents skin irritation which can sometimes arise with DMSO use. I have bought a DMSO solution that also contains aloe vera - it's all I can get in the Philippines -- this is the other way of doing it. But I still think that the first method I described is better.

If you're using DMSO on its own, say, to help against an injury or arthritis then you will be using it on the same spot over and over again -- snd this is where sloe vera is quite useful -- it will help to prevent skin irritation. But if you are just using DMSO as an internal delivery mechanism for a nutrient like lugols iodine, then you should try and use the protocol in different areas of the body -- thus also reducing the possibility of skin irritations.

Make yourself a solution of DMSO and a good aloe vera gel (1 cup aloe to 1/4 cup DMSO). You might also add 1/4 cup of colloidal silver if you want. Use this on your face and you won't have the drying and flakiness because the aloe vera counteracts that.

Hi there,

I have been using DMSO and MSM for about 9 months ..before I started using them. I checked out many websites and spoke to many people about them. As far as I'm concerned it's very safe for us.

  • I have used it on wounds that wouldn't heal properly.
  • I use it on both my feet where I have bone on bone arthritis in both my big toes.
  • Also arthritic knees and neck.
  • Believe me when I say I look terrific for my age.

But I have so many aches and pains its not funny...it minimises the pain for hours.

I HAVE ALSO PUT DMSO ON MY TESTICLES AND THE BIG FELLA ..AND my libido is now amazing < i do have a very beautiful 30 yr old girlfriend that helps. But at my age 65yrs, I still need all the help I can get.

DOSAGE

The MSM I drink 2x tablespoons a day with a juice ...

The DMSO I EITHER APPLY TO WHERE I NEED IT ON MY BODY ..or I will drink about 5 mils a day with some kind of sweet drink to mask the taste.

My skin is glowing with health. I look very fit ..my nails and the hair on my head also grows very fast.

It seems that the USA AND AUSTRALIA are the only two countries in the world that put warning signs all over the packaging. I believe it's absolute nonsense. I can't see any reason for me to stop taking either of them.

I have also used hydrogen peroxide with good results ..but that's another story.

I had a cold sore yesterday with a blister. It had started in the morning but I didn't notice it till I got to work. I decided to try dmso on it since I had some on my desk. (I ordered it a few weeks ago since I had read that you could use internally which I have yet to figure out what the protocal of that might be) I dabbed it on about 5 times throughout the day. I definetely felt that something was happening but the blister itself remained. About 7pm last night I accidently brushed the blister and it popped, without any pain. The blister was "dead". It is healing today. I HAVE NEVER EVER had a blister that was fully blistered heal so quickly. Once a blister has formed it usually means that you are in for the full program. ten days of a big patch of red gue by your lip and then scabbing and healing finally at the end.

Herniated Disc Pain

I herniated a disc or two last summer when I was carrying my 75 lb golden retriever outside to go to the bathroom 4-5 times a day towards the end of her life. It eventually got better with aspirin and chiropractic sessions. I managed to inflame the area again after shoveling snow last week. What has been working phenomenally well for the pain, especially in the morning when the pain is most acute, is 2-3 droppers of undiluted pharmaceutical grade DMSO (99.99%) and a drop or two of peppermint oil. I mix the 2 together in my palm after washing my hands thoroughly. Then I rub it into my low back, all the way to the tailbone, where it has been hurting the most. About 10 minutes later, the pain is all but gone. The effect lasts a number of hours. I repeat this 3 times a day.

Also tried DMSO and magnesium oil with the same effects.

People often remark that they have to dilute their 99.99% DMSO but I have found I don't need to. It stings for a few minutes but goes away. I am also applying the DMSO with Magnesium Oil on the upper part of my body (neck, chest and face) without dilution. NO ISSUES!

This is the first time I have been experimenting with DMSO for a number of days. Even trying it internally here and there. I definitely noticed a garlic smell the first day, but that stopped after I started to add peppermint oil after reading a post on Earth Clinic about how peppermint oil can stop the clam/garlic odor from DMSO.

There are a lot of scare tactics on the internet about DMSO, but I'm finding it to be incredibly helpful in alleviating severe pain fast.

I mixed a dropper full in with a tablespoon of coconut oil. I'm putting it on 3 or 4 times a day. It made my side feel great and I am putting it on my face and every where. They say not to use plastic containers, so, I'm using 1/2 pint mason jar with a food grade plastic lid. I didn't think the metal lids would be a good idea. I'm new at using this too. Months ago I bought a roll on, and that did nothing for me even though I put it on several times a day. I prefer to add more DMSO if I need too. I have pain in my hands too. I'm hoping it will cure my joints.

ORH - I know you have your own ways so I won't say any more on that.

Re: death - been there, done that, didn't hurt, wasn't scary, no pitchforks and not alone. Zero trauma. Very interesting, awesome "ride". Not a tunnel but, rather, very fast travel along a perfectly straight trajectory. Like if you were in a rocket car, going rocket fast, the "air" (which is actually fluid) around the car would be quite solid if you were to try to stick your arm out the window and the straight line travel would make the target perfectly clear, in your sights, which provides the sense of "the light at the end of the tunnel" which seems singular but that's because you're moving straight toward it so it's not blurred or wobbly. It's a bit like "zooming in", as with a camera.

I didn't stick around - just sort of popped in, sensed the presence of others - mentally high-fived everybody and came back. Just a sort of "Hi! AWESOME ride! Gotta go! " sort of trip. All on my own ticket - totally by choice. Had I been more severely injured or unhealthy, I would have stayed. And I COULD have stayed, by simply choosing to.

And just to be clear - nobody who's ever known me would ever mistake me for an angel and there was no sense of..."judgement". Zero. Like with all things, I suspect one's experience is an extension of one's state of being, at the time, and as I'm an explorer, that's pretty much my state of being, 24/7 - interested in whatever has my attention which I reserve for things that interest me and which is always and only ever my call.

The light is like a big hug, high-five and celebration, all at the same time. Nothing to be afraid of.

I don't think there is a connection between the DMSO and Lemon juice and what you have experienced and described here. From my experience DMSO does nothing but good and positive things for the body of the man. It is a non synthetic product, I.e. not made by man. I've taken DMSO with water and vitamins, and Omega 3 fats and magnesium and cayenne extract and glycerine and I've had it before and after drinking apple cider vinegar (Malic acid). And I am not done experimenting. I have tried one (1) ounce of 99.99 pure DMSO in 20 ounces of distilled water twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the after noon. I have consumed about 2 quarts of pure DMSO since I began posting here and I haven't been posting here for that long.

Bill, Very good post about Vitamin C not being ascorbic acid. I take a Vitamin C with Rose Hips. I look at the rose hips as being the most important part. I have tended to take Vitamin C for granted without thinking about it. It is a reminder to be more discriminating when buying Vitamin C in supplement form. I know you get your nutrients from whole foods so less likely to be a problem. For people who buy supplement, this is important to know

http://www.thedoctorwithin.com/vitaminc/ascorbic-acid-is-not-vitamin-c/

"OK, natural vs. synthetic. Let's start with Vitamin C. Most sources equate vitamin C with ascorbic acid, as though they were the same thing. They're not. Ascorbic acid is an isolate, a fraction, a distillate of naturally occurring vitamin C. In addition to ascorbic acid, vitamin C must include rutin, bioflavonoids, Factor K, Factor J, Factor P, Tyrosinase, Ascorbinogen, and other components as shown in the figure below:

A s c o r b I c A c I d

ascorbinogen
bioflavonoids
rutin

tyrosinase

Factor J
Factor K
Factor P

A s c o r b I c A c id

V I T A M I N C

In addition, mineral co-factors must be available in proper amounts.

If any of these parts are missing, there is no vitamin C, no vitamin activity. When some of them are present, the body will draw on its own stores to make up the differences, so that the whole vitamin may be present. Only then will vitamin activity take place, provided that all other conditions and co-factors are present."

To drive home the point even further

"Ascorbic acid simply cannot confer vitamin activity, as taught by the discoverer of vitamin C himself, another Nobel Prize laureate, Dr. Albert Szent-Georgi.

Szent-Georgi discovered vitamin C in 1937. In all his research however, Szent-Georgi found that he could never cure scurvy with the isolated ascorbic acid itself. Realizing that he could always cure scurvy with the "impure" vitamin C found in simple foods"

So one should focus on Vitamin C COMPLEX as opposed to Vitamin C

I found a sustained release brand which contains

Vitamin C (as ascorbic acid) 1000 mg 1,667%

Bioflavonoids (from Citrus limon exocarp) (supplying active flavonones, 24% [120 mg] and active flavonols and flavones, 20% [100 mg]) 500 mg

Rutin (from Sophora japonica leaf) 100 mg

Hesperidin (from Citrus limon exocarp) 100 mg

Rose Hips (Rosa canina fruit) 100 mg

Acerola (Malpighia glabra fruit) 50 mg

How to Store DMSO

WARNING!

My good friend's boyfriend is a professor in sleep research at a university in California. When I was visiting them a few weeks ago, I asked if he used dmso in the lab and if so, how did he store it? He told me that they use dmso in many, many experiments and that they always store it in glass bottles. When I told him that I had recently put some of my dmso in a small, cosmetic plastic spray bottle to use with grapefruit seed extract for nail fungus, he looked concerned and suggested that I only store dmso in glass.

Ah, good thing I had that discussion. When I got home from the trip, I smelled the little plastic spray bottle that I had been using the previous 2 weeks. It reaked of chemicals! Yikes!! I compared the smell to the dmso in the thick white plastic bottle that I bought from an online vet supply store, which looks just like the one in Ted's photo. Thankfully the big bottle had a typical dmso odor - a faint scent of garlic. Needless to say, I immediately threw out my spray bottle. Until I find a glass beaker or bottle from a science supply store, I am using a glass dropper for the dmso.

Be warned, be warned!

If you are going to take it internally, then the best way may be to try and diffuse it with any essential oil of your choice.

Diffusing goes right into the blood stream within one minute and crosses the BB barrier without losing potency through digestion.

If you want to take internally, then you can buy enteric coated capsules and put a drop into each. This ensures it survives digestion and opens about 20% the way down into the small intestine.

Now, I have not done this personally but I am trained as CNHP and Certified Aromatherapist.

I also own a business in Indonesia that produces Essential oils and know that diffusion is the quickest and most effective way to treat the over all body.

Nebulizing DMSO
Posted by ORH (TEN MILE, TN) on 04/21/2021

ClaudiO, ORH here, and I first learned of DMSO in 1965 when I worked for CZ in St Francisville, La. The CZ pulp mill in Bogalusa, La was where C Z make their DMSO from the mill's black liquor. Their DMSO Supervisor came over to help me start up our tall oil plant.

He related two stories that I have posted over the years and will post here again.

He said none of his employees ever got a cold, nor the flu while working in the plant. Also, he said DMSO will instantly heal a skin burn. Dr. Jacob in Ore. did all CZ's research and lived to be 93 and drank DMSO every day. Read his book. I still buy all my DMSO from his Lab.

You are right about DMSO reacting with plastic as I ruined my Tractor Driver's plastic measuring beaker with 100 % DMSO. A glass nebulizer would work. Dr. Jacobs says to use 75% below your waist and 50% above your waist. The employees had to breathe the DMSO vapors but I would have no clue what concentration to use in a nebulizer. I would go very low to start.

After I crushed my T 12, I use lineament and DMSO every morning on my hips. Dr. Jacobs testified before Senator Kennedy's committee in his investigation into DMSO. After that, Dr. Jacobs took a low profile as Big Pharma came after him. Would tell you much more, but this tale would not be posted. Error to the save side on the nebulizing and keep us posted.

I found my 99.9% pharmaceutical grade DMSO on Amazon.com. Then I just bought the distilled water from my local grocer. Hope this helps. I also highly recommend the book "DMSO Nature's Healer", by Dr. Morton Walker, which I also found at Amazon.com.

Acne

I have been using DMSO for acne and it's the only thing that has seemed to help reduce the inflammation and really help with my severe acne. It does make my skin very dry and flaky, but if I use an oil free moisturizer it seems ok.

I have been using the DMSO morning and night and I just roll it over my face before my other skin care products. There is a slight/mild tingle and stinging for about 5 mins. I am also using on top of the DMSO the Jan Marnin Bioglycolic Bioclear Lotion which I think is working well together with the DMSO. I'm not able to use Benzyol Peroxide because I am allergic to it, so the DMSO has been an amazing cure for my acne. I truly can't live with out it. If you are suffering from acne I would definitely recommend trying the DMSO. I use the roll on 70% DMSO 30% aloe or the 70% DMSO 30% distilled water. It's $10.00 on Amazon .:)
