I have been on a Russian Rhodiola rosea extract from Gem***ia since 4 days, the dose being 100 mg per day with 6% rosavins and 2% salidrosides, to help with my ADHD Inattentive type and anxiety. So far I haven't seen any effects on concentration, memory or mood lifting.

Is it the dosing that may be raised for that purpose? Is it that some people don't react to rhodiola and I am one of the unlucky bunch?

Adrenal Fatigue

I have been taking Rhodiola standardized 250 mg every morning for awhile now for fatigue, and trying to go off caffeine to heal my adrenals. So far I havent seen any results, I feel so tired, and am a bit discouraged cause I cant do what I need to do during the day. Am I the only one who hasn't had a miracle effect from Rhodiola? I been taking it for a couple weeks. 1 in am on empty stomach and 1 at lunch or afternoon.

I am also taking Monolaurin for Epstein Barr symptoms, cutting out alcohol, caffeine, gluten, corn, and dairy in case of allergies. I am just going back to bed today due to extreme fatigue... Anyone know of good supplements for adrenal fatigue. Thanks.

If your adrenals are burnt then why not try raw adrenal gland (for your general health). It is a common product and is effective. I know of nothing else that will compensate for burnt adrenals.

Rhodiola: Time to Effect?

I took rhodiola root by FSC, when I first began taking it I began to get happy and feel the benfits after about 30 minutes. But it depends what compounds you take as some can have a calming affect like with Solgar.

Rhodiola from GNC

Hi my name is Karen, I have purchased the Rhodiola from GNC and I felt like I wasted $30.00 it did not work. With intensive research on the internet I found 1000mg at vitacost. Sometimes I feel like I'm going to just lose it because I worry and think about things that aren't true but my mind makes them true I just about make myself go major nuts sometimes. If I didn't have these pills I don't know what I would do. The ones from vitacost are from Siberia and 3% which is what you want.

I have been taking rhodiola for about 2.5 months. I felt the effects right from the start. I am a 62 year old male and in very good health. I took the rhodiola for more energy and faster recovery from sports workouts. I am seeing almost all of the reported benefits. I take one 500 mg capsule before breakfast. It is russian rhodiola extract 5% rosavins. As a bonus, I have lost 10-12 lbs which I have been trying to lose for a few years now. So far so good.

I've just looked over this page on Rhodiola and find some disconcerting misinformation. YES - RHODIOLA will cause some people (notably those who are bipolar) possible manic episodes if taken in too high a dose. One person says they are taking 600 MG a day. That's too high for most people. Try taking 150 mg of a good Rhodiola and then moving up to maybe 300 mg if you like the feeling. No reason to do any more than that. We've had seven years experience with Rhodiola in our household, with great success. But, not for skin lightening!! I don't know where one poster got that idea (and the dose she's taking is WAY too much). Consider Rhodiola an herb that is to be respected and treated gingerly. It has been used for many centuries, quite safely.

Hashimoto's Thyroiditis
Posted by Zander (Anytown, USA) on 11/14/2024

The effect upon the thyroid by Rhodiola is tested and proven. When you see a post from Europe, perhaps consider they are privy to information we've not seen in the States. Not sure if I can post a link, but, here goes:

https://www.akroseroot.com/blogs/the-alaska-rhodiola-wellness-journal/elevating-energy-rhodiola-roseas-impact-on-hypothyroid-function

In case that does not display, or as an intro in any event, here are some of the highlights: [1] Rhodiola does indeed have a proven affinity with the thyroid and the HPA axis [2] and can increase thyroid hormone in an adaptogenic fashion as well as [3] decrease TPO and TG antibodies.

I'm on rhodiola rosea rosavin. very important, been on this for 3 years now. it's a miracle. I'm 46, work 12 hour days plus sat morning. Up at 430am, back home 700pm every night, working in hot laundry. adaption rate is every day. I just get stronger every day, stress easy to cope with, I could go on all day. I'm so happy. I'm paid the minmum wage, but that's not important. I know at the end ov the day that I will be stronger the next day. more people need to know about this supplement.

Mood, Anxiety, Depression

I very recently began taking the Rhodiola Rosea at 150 mg 1/day in the morning and WOW! I started taking it just over a week ago and felt an effect just three days into this dosage. It was gradual for me to realize that it was the Rhodiola having an effect on me, but I just suddenly felt like...doing things. I hate taking prescription drugs and have a deeply rooted belief they are a plague and instill a lack of self-responsibility in many people, so I would much rather not prescribe to the easy way out and find natural solutions to my problems. Although not clinically diagnosed, I believe I suffer from mild anxiety, insomnia (primarily caused by racing thoughts), and mild depression -- can you see how many different types of money-making drugs I would need to take? No thank you.

To combat these ills I have taken 5HTP (works for my deep-seated winter depression and I cycle this), Melatonin (worthless), Vitamin D 50,000 IU, Ashwagandha, and now Rhodiola Rosea. Of these, I believe Rhodiola Rosea has had the quickest, most noticeable effect on my mood, outlook on life, and general well-being. I've read that typical dosage is between 200 mg - 1000 mg; so if I am at 150 mg/day and feeling its effects I cannot IMAGINE how awesome I will feel (and be) at a higher dosage

I'm not a doctor, but while Rhodiola sounds great (to me specifically), please read this link re contraindications and some important warnings (e.g., don't take if you're bipolar): http://rhodiolarosea.org/rhodiola-rosea-toxicity-side-effects-and-contraindications/

I'm a kidney transplant patient and need to check with my post-transplant coordinator about any natural remedy prior to taking it.

Robert

It should be the same thing, yes..Herbs can be in pill, powder, tea or tincture form..and most often it's the root of the plant that is used.

Hope that answers your question!

This is interesting because rhodiola at only 100mg in the morning literally prevents me getting any sleep at all. Mood seems to be boosted a bit but makes me slightly jittery. I will have to try 50mg. I'm amazed how potent this is.

I started taking rhodiola last Tuesday. From the moment I took the first capsule I felt different. Now after five days I am starting to get my memory back and feel a lot more relaxed and feel more refreshed and less tired by the end of the day. I find the tablet remarkable. I was prescribed this from a naturapath.

I've been taking Rhodiola twice a day for about three weeks. I love it! It gives me this subtle calming effect. I've noticed when things get hectic I still feel calm and centered. I love it! And the fact that it's an anti-carcinogen only makes me love it more!

I've just finished my first bottle of Rhodiola 500 mg. as suggested by my doctor. I have definitely noticed an increase in my energy level and its enhanced my mood. I stopped in a local vitamin store to purchase another bottle, but they only 300 mg. and I was told taking 2 capsules is okay. From what I've read, the 600 mg dose is still good for energy and depression, but at doses in the 1,200 - 1,500 have sedating effects. I can really feel a difference taking Rhodiola. I'm glad my doctor recommended it!

My family has an over sleeping habits that have made life in the real world hard. Also, when we wake up we still are so groggy and half asleep that walking into walls and driving on the wrong side of the street is a normal thing. When I started rhodiola 1 year ago it changed my life in quality. I am prone to getting on whatever I could to keep me awake to be able to get through life, and anti depressants? Well, lets just say I got to try all of them on for size at one time or another. Thanks to this remarkable plant I am off of them and happy.

After doing cosiderable research on brands, and trying to find one that is "Siberian", I have located a brand that I will stand by. However, I don't want to sound like I am selling something on here. You can email me at home4us2004 (at) yahoo. com, and I will be happy to share.

I also want to add that I just started my 17 year old son on Rhodiola. He has ADHD and anxiety. We tried the pharmaceutical route, but he hated all the side effects. What he said to me the first day he took it was "My Brain Felt Relief".

Yes I have taken Rhodiola 110 manufactured by nutrilite for good number of years now. I have found it's the most effective energy boost I can take without coffee or Redbull or Monster energy drinks. I have more stamina and mental clarity when I need it without the crash.

I've heard Rhodiola mentioned by Dr. Oz on his show & the great things associated with it. I have just started taking the capsule a few days ago & WOW! I have increased energy & stamina, my mental alertness has increased and I feel great. I have been working shift work for almost 20 years now and feel the effects of it on my body. Taking Rhodiola has given me a little boost just where I need it! I think it's great!

Rhodiola from GNC

I have been taking Rhodiola for years and think it is awesome. I just got some Rhodiola from GNC, 340 mg, and it does not seem to have the same effect as the other manufacturers I have used. This has 3% rosavins and say rhodiola rosea root extract. Has anyone tried the GNC Rhodiola?

Rhodiola is not really used for pain, it has only been shown in studies to improve mood and "energy" but I've never heard of it being used for pain.
