Hi All,

This is Prasanth from India. First of all I would like to thanks a ton for this website who actually founded it. This is Miracle website which cures ailments.

Coming to me, I was a great suffer for sinusitis due to nasal polyps which is visble. I am afraid of surgergies so when searching for natural remedies I found this website by god's grace. wow. It was horrible yesterday, miraculously seeing some improvement after following below steps:

Day 1:

Mixed 5 drops of tea tree oil into one spoon of Caster Oil (hexanne free) one and had put it into both nostrils two drops each. (instead of qtip ) Initially scared to put tea tree oil, but how ever my suffering with nasal polops gave me force to use it. I have used it.

It is not much strong so to cause sting..I have added more caster oil for safeside.

Next thing I have done is, nasal rinse(water+ saline powder + two drops of tea tree oil into it) and then used this as Rinse solution. It clease most of bad stuff inside. I see little blood it it..

Day 2:

I have now added a 1/4th of spoon of ACV (Apple cider venigar) into my nasal rinse solution(water+sinusair saline powder+1/4th spoon of acv) and then did the nasal irrigation...

wow this combination seems to be very well than tea tree oil combination.. It did not sting much..

To my amazement, I noticed my nasal polyp shrunk noticeably than yesterday....

WOW god bless this website and who found this solution...It seems to be working, I am going to update this post I am going to try this solution contineously..

I really thank this website, I hate of surgeries and fear of it, some how Tea Tree oil and ACV comes to rescue...

Hi Sushma,

Glad to hear that you are too from Hyderabad, Me to from same place :)

I bought it from amazon. Not any particular brand, I went for TTO which has good user comments and rating.

Regarding other question: How long...hmm my personal answer is till polyps disappear. Actually I used to do nasal irrigation for long time. so Just added few drops of TTO into solution as I written. But be careful, dont add too much because it stings. TTO is generally not for internal use they say external use only. You can Qtip method 3 drops of TTO mixed with spoon of olive oil or castor oil(castor oil should be hexane free) and using qtip just massage the solution over polyp if its really visible. If not visible, then saline irrigation would be right choice. Hope this helps.

As far I know, you need to select good castor oil which is hexane free. That will be good. You can also use coconut oil as carrier oil

I have nasal polyps since 2014 as diagnosed by ENT doctor, a surgery is the only solution according to the doctor. Since then I try to find every possible solutions besides surgery as he told me it will grow back again after the surgery, and no guarantee it will cure them forever and need to use nasal steriods for the rest of my life. I cant smell anything for like years, good food, followers etc. I am so fade up, try every possible solutions besides surgery but it did not cure, my polyps grew even bigger almost pop out from my nostril! I am so fade up! Thank god I found out this website, the solutions given here by using Tea Tree oil and castor oil really helps! After using it for a month my nasal polyps shrink and bring my smell back!

What I do everyday are:

1. Using Sinus rinse 4 times daily mixed with 2 drops of Tea Tree essential oil every wash.
2. Using Qtip (each nostril once) to apply tea tree oil which I mixed with Castor oil as carrier oil (10 tea tree oil + 1 table spoon of castor oil, put it in small container so I can use it for many times), 2 times daily.
3. 1 teaspoon of castor oil everyday
4. Apply Aloe (4 drops each nostril) after rinse my nose, 2 times daily.
5. Wear mask when go out or in kitchen to keep away the allergen (as my case is Mold Allergy/alternaria)
6. Sleep early everyday between 10pm - 11pm to let my body fix and heal itself.
7. Exercise half to 1 hour daily and make sure to sweat everyday, drink a lot of water to replenish my body fluid.

I am so happy today, after years of struggle and fighting for sinus problem and cant smell anything for years, finally I am able to smell the aroma of coffee and my surrounding! It felt so wonderful after years of suffered and it finally heal and getting better day after day! Im so grateful, even though I still cant breath normally using my nose as the polyps still there, but they are getting smaller, and I believed one day it will cure by itself and I can breath like a normal person. I also read the book Secret by Rhonda Byrne and apply the technique to believe my nasal polyps can be healed one day and let the universe do the work. Thanks again earthclinic.com and people here to share their experience. I hope who suffered nasal polyps benefited from my experience. All the best!

Today is day 2 of using tea tree oil for nasal polyps.

First I do a nasal wash using a saline solution then about half an hour later I apply a mix of virgin coconut oil and tea tree oil (30% VCO to 70% TTO) via q tip directly into the nostrils 2x daily. My left nostril is ok but my right nostril l gets blocked mostly while I sleep.

So far I could feel some improvement. I also mixed some tto into my saline nasal spray and started to use it too. I'll try to update on my experience. I'm hoping it will work for me as I've been suffering from hayfever and lately these nasal polyps.

Hi, my husband has been suffering with nasal polyps for some months. The ent prescribed predinosone and though it helped, it hasn't been eliminated and it was still bothering him. He was even thinking of surgery when we found this information about tea tree oil recently...

08/11/2011: Gary from Sacramento, California, Usa replies: "Try Tea Tree Oil applied directly via a Qtip. The polyp will fall off in about 3-4 days."

He started using a few drops of it in distilled water (to his comfortable level), and put some drops with a nasal spray into his nostril. After 1-2 weeks, he feels like the swelling is mostly gone.

The other day he went to the ent, the dr put the endoscope in his nostril and they said they couldn't see the polyp. He showed them the picture of the polyp that the dr took before, but to his amazement, the dr said it's gone. Thanks to God for showing us this treatment. Just wanted to put it out there in case it may help anybody else.

Is tea tree oil safe to use on my dog? She is an 80 pound lab with a nose polyp that is blocking her entire right nostril. If so, what ratio should it be diluted? It would be so wonderful if this works for her! Thank you

Personally, I would be comfortable using tea tree oil on an 80 pound dog. I would mix it in castor oil as castor oil may also help the polyps. I would add 10 drops of tea tree per Tablespoon of Castor oil.

I was recently told by my ENT doctor that I would need surgery to remove a 9mm nasal polyp, and correct a deviated septum. Also to drain the sinuses once this was removed. And there may be others as my nose was too inflamed to look into. She tried the steroid/antibiotic course and ran a CT scan indicating surgery was required. I also have asthma and allergies to pet dander (yes I have animals), but I've had animals for 9 years and by using Zyrtec, they're mostly controlled. I have to wonder how I now have this. I lost my sense of taste and smell over a year ago. When on the steroid/antibiotic course, my taste and smell are restored. Also, I have no problems breathing out of my nose. So I can't understand for the life of me why this surgery is needed.

I've read the testimonials from people who did the tea tree oil but have to ask, is that safe to use internally on a mucous membrane? Any advice will be accepted, anything to get out of surgery.

I'm 47, overweight 200 lbs. And on meds for allergy and asthma. I suffer from migraine headaches, which become worse because the polyp is blocking my sinuses, increasing the intensity and frequency of the headaches. I get them about every 2 weeks and see a chiropractor regularly.

I think the tea tree oil is safe for mucus membrane. It is one of the more gentle Essential oils. Along with using 2 drops peppermint 2 drops lavender on temples and behind ears for headaches. I have some huge polyps I am going to try it on.

If you are scared to use undiluted you can mix with Castor oil (which is also good for inflammation)

mix 1TBSP oil + 10-15 drops Tea tree.

Dear Raj,

I would try tea tree essential oil in castor oil. If you add 5 - 10 drops of tea tree oil to 1 tablespoon of castor oil, you can then put a couple of drops into your nostril a couple of times a day. If they are deep into your nose you may need to do this while on your back so the oil can drain to where it needs to be.

Serrapeptase also has helped many dissolve cysts and polyps. It is taken on an empty stomach according to package instructions.

Let me know how it goes!

Dear ~Mama to Many~

Thank you so much for the quick revert. I did try this for a couple of days sometime back but observed that while putting the oil through the nostrils some of it would get swallowed. Hope that's fine as I already swallow a teaspoon of castor oil upon waking up. But since its tea tree oil hence wanted to check if its safe if it gets ingested.

But it feels really nice to hear from you. Need your guidance and blessings in this tough phase of mine.

Dear Mama to Many, wanted to update you that im starting to see slight positive effects. Last week was good, started to smell. But now although last two days have been difficult. All said and done I cant thank you enuff, after almost 2 weeks of anosmia I could finally smell my toddler sons body lotion. I used to apply him everyday after bath as I get him ready for school, after 2 full months I could smell it, I had tears in my eyes and only gratitude and blessings for you and God.

Basically I went to the ent a couple of weeks back and learnt that actually there were polyps on both sides of the nose and I could see them in the endoscopy.

I started to administer 3 drops of castor oil + tea tree oil mixture ( 1 tablespoon castor oil + 15 drops of tea tree oil) in each of the nostrils twice a day. That has helped to reduce the polyp size and help in breathing better from the nose. Mornings are better, feel fresher and breathing better, but the ac in office is so strong it causes blockage so I have told them to reduce the blow. Ive been applying your technique for a little over 2 weeks now.

Also I am inhaling steam with tea tree oil drops twice a day. Its been a month now of doing that, steam softens the nasal passages I believe.

Plus one tea spoon of castor oil upon waking up. Diet consists of fruits like oranges, mangoes, pineapples, red grapes and raw onions, cabbages, sweet potatoes. Completely cut out wheat, chocolates, cookies etc for nearly over two months now. Have started to do cardio workouts too in order to improve my breathing and stamina. That is helping a bit too. Hopefully want to start pranayama breathing like anu lomvilom and kapalbhati once the sinuses feel a little more open.

Any other things you think I should be doing?

Also how long should I do the castor oil + tto therapy? Till the polyps completely subside?

Final push will now be needed from what you suggest. I'm really now wanting a normal life Mama to Many.

Please advise.

Dear Raj,

Good news from you - exciting to hear that you are having progress! I am sure your dietary changes are helping, too.

Usually when its seems like what I am doing is working, even if slowly, I keep at it.

You might cut back some on the tea tree oil. Maybe 5 drops for each Tablespoon castor oil would work? Castor oil alone may work. I just don't like to use an essential oil long term if it isn't needed because they are so strong and can have side effects.

Have you tried the enzyme supplement serrapeptase? Or perhaps you could add pineapple to your diet because of the enzyme bromelain.

Thanks for updating! I am hopeful that your solution here is going to work completely for you!

Good evening, I'm very pleased to inform you that with your guidance and Gods Grace I am much better. Breathing has become better and so has the smell. Cant express how it feels to eat food and smell normally. Health is wealth indeed! I shall post my entire regimen soon so that it helps other people looking for a cure.i am administering the castor oil + tto mix now only once in the night as im trying to ween off the mix while tto in steam inhalation twice a day.

The mix is in the same proprotion that you suggested : castor oil + 5 drops TTO. I am nearly 1.5 months with doing the steam inhalation and one month since administering the castor oil + tto in the nostrils. Till when do you suggest I do this? I havent tried serrapeptase, although im eating pineapple and my citric content in the form of fresh orange juice or mandarins is on. Also I eat mangoes since the Vit A seems to help too.

Quick qn, can I slowly start eating wheat flour? Thanks

Thanks so much for reporting your success with this!

Castor oil should be okay for long term use. I try not to use essential oils longer than needed, so perhaps try just castor oil a couple of times a week as a maintenance dose? If it begins to get worse, you could go back to the 5 drops per tablespoon of castor oil.

I am excited for you and know your experience will be helpful to others!

Dear Mama To Many

hope all well, its Raj from Dubai.

Its been a great last 2.5 months up untill Sat. The weather change in Dubai got me under the weather on Thu, friday I had a sore throat and from sat on the same symptoms have returned. Blocked sinuses, green phlegm release, ear pressure, nasal mucosal thickening, anosmia :((((

I must admit I was trying to ween off the castor oil plus TTO mix and was fine as well.

But now since last 2 days ive restarted to administer the mix application in both the nostrils. Also doing steam inhalation with eucalyptus oil to loosen the phlegm in the morning and night. My diet has already been altered hugely since May, no wheat or gluten or extra processed sugars. Fruits, salads, etc form a good part of my diet. Went to the ENT on sunday and he did an endoscopy, the two polyps are still there on each side, but somehow I felt them a little reduced in size from before though.

I am really fed up now, please could you assist with some insights? 'Im really facing trouble with this, plzzzz help Mama to Many

Dear Raj,

Well, a setback is discouraging, but you have made great improvements in the past and I trust you will again.

Since you know castor oil and tea tree oil work, perhaps that would be something to continue.

But obviously you wish to have the polyps gone permanently.

Essiac tea may be an option. It has helped many with all sorts of growths. It is not difficult to prepare or take.

I think I have mentioned serrapeptase, a supplement you take on an empty stomach. It is reported to get rid of growths, polyps, etc.

I put about 2 T. castor oil plus 5-10 drops of tea tree oil into the bottle. Then I drip a few drops into each nostril. It is helpful to be on your back for this and nice if there is someone that can do it for you. I have done this once or twice a day or as needed.

I tried the tea tree oil recommendations on my sinus polyps and they are gone. To ensure the never come back, I mixed tea tree oil with alkalol in a old sinus spray bottle and use twice a day. Hi, GCOOK, do you think you could make the mix a little clearer? What exactly are you putting into the spray bottle? It sounds like first you fill the sprayer 3/4 full with the nasal spray that originally came in the sprayer. What kind of spray is that, what are the ingredients? Then you fill the remaining 1/4 of the sprayer with the tea tree oil, or is that a mix of tea tree oil and isoprophyl rubbing alcohol, or something else? Half and half or what? In response to all those asking what Gcook added to the tea tree oil- it is a natural nasal wash called "ALKALOL". I've had sinus pollyps since post 9/11 and have been using dilluted Alkalol/ sea salt washes for relief and cleansing. You can look it up. It comes in a 16 oz bottle. Has all kinds of good stuff in it including spearmint and wintergreen. Can't hurt. I'm now just trying the tea tree oil and will try mixing it with the Alkalol.

I'm in the process of scheduling my 4th surgery now as polyps have returned finally after my last surgery- end of 2011. Surgery is like mowing the lawn to kill weeds I like to say. It is not possible to get to the root of the problem- root of the weed- by mowing the lawn- cutting the pollyps out. We must get to the root of the problem. And in my experience- doctors do not get to the root of the problem. They do not have time. They give you 10 minutes per/ visit on average. All they can do is try to alleviate symptoms.

On this forum, everyone seems to have great ideas and "cure alls"- we've heard them all on here- right? I'm thinking for me- if this tea tree oil doesn't work, I'll try the most difficult suggestion on here which is eliminating sugar (under 5%) and carbs (under 10%) Sounds like a convincing argument- but all of our bodies are different. We've all come to this place from very different circumstances- remember- what cures one may not cure another. But following up with how the treatment worked in the long run on this site is super helpful to everyone- so let's try.

I will let you know how the tea tree oil works for me- with and without Alkalol. I have way up in my sinus' pollyps and did the q-tip topical application last night. It made me very congested but you often have to persevere through that to get results so I'm not going to let a few days of more congestion stop the experiment. Too much at stake. I will say- I have had my sense of smell for most of the years- save a few weeks reprieve while on a run of prednisone- or right after a surgery but last night and this morning when I put the tea tree oil doused q-tip up into my right sinus- it hit a point where it must have opened something up as I could smell the tea tree oil in my right sinus. Now I'm back to congested for the moment. I will keep you posted... And best of luck to everyone! Sinus pollyps have destroyed my quality of life.

  • 2 ounces distilled or boiled and cooled water

  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

I put it in a nasal spray bottle. If it feels too strong, I add another 2 ounces of water to the above recipe.

I have nasal polyps since 1992, three surgery, too much steroids, nose spray, antibiotic, etc... I lost my since of smell and I cannot tell if the juice that I am drinking is mango, orange or something else. My Dr. , like all others, keep telling me that I will not die because I have polyps, but die with it. Last week I was so frustrated and I ran out off my nose spray, my nose was blocked, cannot sleep, I was upset and losing my patience with anything, so I decided to Google for answer and I found this guy online that claim to have a cure that I am looking for 20 years, and I bought his eBook for $37 and most of what I read was not something new, but was the first time I heard about Tea Tree Oil.

What the hell, I have nothing to lose and as his directions I start to wash my nostrils and apply TTO with QTips, my polyps is located all the way inside of my nostril, so the QTip did not find a clean and open way to the back and it hurt a little bit until reach the polyps, it burned when ran to my throat and outside my nose, it burns everywhere that it touch. First day was too bad and I had an impression that my polyps got worse, my nose was running for hours and I had some bad headache. So I applied TTO two times (morning and afternoon) I washed my nose with salt water about 30 minutes before use TTO, on the second day I was already able to sleep breathing thru my noise, and I could not believe, I am not saying that it was 100% clean, but was great. I notice some blood coming out of my nose when I sneeze or blow it out, today is my third day and I can admit some improvement and I could breathe thru my nose most of the day and I cannot wait to have a nice sleep night, my right nostril is still 50% blocked, but the left side is clean, I want to say 100% clean but I cannot believe yet.

The TTO is not burning like before, I am still using two times a day, early in the morning and around 4pm, I don't want to use right before to go to the bed because I still get some running nose for may be 2 hours after apply TTO.

Beside the TTO I am taking OMEGA 3, 6 and 9. I am eating lots of fruit, salad, Zinc, vitamin complex.

I will keep giving some updates. Good lock for everyone.

Tea Tree Oil
Posted by Doeboymcjc (London, Uk) on 08/20/2012

Hello, I have had polyps for 5 years, with no smell or taste etc. I had one operation to combat them but no good - they came back after about 2 weeks. I currently use Micromist spray three times daily as this works really well to unblock my nose. I also take an antihistamine daily to try to combat problems with my asthma and nose. I have mild asthma which gets worse with vigorous excercise, dairy products and pollen.

They are ruining my life.

The following things affect me the most: milk, cheese (I am allergic and this blocks me up so much), chocolate, alcohol (another huge blocker), fizzy drinks, ice-cream and chlorine from swimming pools.

I am going to try the Tea Tree Oil method and cut out sugar also just to make sure as I know that the polyps feed off sugar. I will apply tea tree oil straight to the cotton bud (about four drops) into my nostrils three times daily and see what happens.

I will keep you posted with the results. Thanks for reading.

Hi, just a quick update. Day three of the no sugar diet and tea tree oil (tto) mission. No results yet. I can't smell and my nose is still blocked up. The tto makes my nose run like mad and I have to insert tissue to counter this. Have been adding 4 drops to the cotton bud and inserting fully into the nose. I can't see the polyps but my right nostril seems to be much worse than my left.

Eating no sugar is making me tired and craving sweet snacks and drinks. I will persevere. Update coming soon.

I am also still using the nasal spray as I can't work without it. Maybe this will be a mistake but I have to.

Hi Doeboymcjc, I am also in London. Thank you for your updates. I suffered for years from polyps, tea tree worked for me, but my polyps were so severe I had to have surgery about two months ago. If they come back I will be using TT again. Keep up and let us know what happens with you. I started using Xylitol instead of sugar - it is very sweet but actually good for you (look it up on the net).

Hi, just an update from my last post, Sunday 19th August 2012: on 23rd August I stopped using the TTO as it made my nose completely blocked and would run for about 2 hours after use. I am not going to do this again, EVER. Sorry to those who swear by it. For me it is a waste of time as it feels like i'm going backwards.

I am still on my no sugar diet but have reintroduced carbs as I realised that I was becoming so weak that I could not think properly. I am on my forth week of the no sugar diet and still no results. I DID however get my smell back for about 2 hours in the evening on Saturday 1st September and it was sensational! But it went as soon as it came, pretty much. I am using my Micromist still three times daily. No sugar is a killer as I crave sweet things but I guess it's healthier and good for my teeth. So when my dentist asks me how I got such amazing teeth my answer will be "polyps" ;)

If this diet does not work after 1 month then i'm going to try something called 'Sinus Wars 13'. It's supposed to be a cure at about £70 a bottle. It's not a natural cure like the no sugar diet, but i'm desperate. I hate this condition.

I will keep y'all posted. Thanks.

Peace!

Hi guys, Just another update. After using a bottle of pills from a website that is supposed to cure polyps, I am about £50 down and my nasal polyps are still as bad as they were previously. What a con! My next mission is to get another professional allergy/intollerance test and cut out anything that shows up on it. I am really desperate now as my nose is really blocked all the time even with the micromist nasal spray. I asked my GP to refer me to a hospital in London on the NHS for a specialist who is the best in the UK apparently but he said that I would have to go through the local hospital first to get the referral as the London hospital would not fund it for me as i'm not in the region or something. Very annoying!

I am cutting out sugar at the moment because I feel this helps a little until I get my results from the allergy testing back. I really want to get a steroid spray or drops for the condition again as this is the only way to bring me back to normal for a while. I actually considered suicide briefly because it's so horrible living with this and I feel so embarrassed at work blowing my nose all the time. I wonder what people think of someone who fears social events because their nose is blocked - its crazy. I hate it so much. I will probably have another operation to remove the polyps and if I do then I will stay on a strict diet with only water, no bread, no sugar, low carbs etc and see if this helps.

I am going to also try tea tree oil again but not on cotton buds, in a spray bottle with distilled water as it seems to help a lot of people on here.

I will keep you posted with my progress.....

PS. I am getting sore throats a lot due to breathing with my mouth all the time and stress...

You are one of the most conscientious people here posting back about your ongoing experience. My heart went out to you after reading your postings. I know exactly what you're going through. It's so awful trying things and not getting the promised results, especially when they are costly. I've been dealing with these polyps for years. I had an operation and they came back, I lost my smell for 25 years and now they are at their worst and I hardly sleep now because they have turned me into a "mouth breather" :) I tried putting the tea tree on the polyp with a Q-tip and I too got the runny nose and was sneezing for hours but no relief. Once I made a nasal spray of 1/4C distilled water and 1/4 tsp sea salt and 1/8 tsp baking powder and a piece of hot cayenne pepper in the water and boiled it for a minute and took the pepper out and put it in a spray bottle. Ouchiwawa!! What a nice pick me up but, even better, at the time, it worked. I was able to breathe again and I got my smell back for 2 years with continuous use. It was amazing. But this time, it hasn't been working. Don't know why. Maybe because they are so big now. sigh

Anyhow, all the best to you and hope you found some relief.

Oops. By "You" I meant Doeboymcjc who came back a few times to update. Thanks for that. Also, correction:

I put the Tea Tree Oil on a cotton ball (not the Q-tip) and that's when I teared up and sneezed for hours and it had no effect. Haven't been too conscientious on the Q-tip method though. It's difficult after so many failures to "keep on plugging" but, if I do the Q-tip method daily, I will post back either way.

Best, Annette

I just started to use tto on my huge swollen polyps and it is working slowly. I use a qtip and I have had some fall out a little each day. Like I said it is slow, but in my book after years of suffering it is a small victory.

I had surgery as well, & they came back, going for allergy shots for 4.5 years now, plus nasal meds. I will try to use the TTO & see how it goes. Sick too of all the meds, plus prednisone as well. ugh, is there not a Dr that can help with all this???

Hi, just reading about the reaction your having and being put off using TTO.

Nobody seems to be using TTO on its own as the nasal passage is very sensitive. You need to mix with something else to make a weak solution. Read the previous comments and they suggest mixing TTO with distilled water for a nasal spray or with castor oil for use with a cotton bud(q tip)

I read this post last wedenesday for my Wife and tried out with Tea tree oil using Q-Tips for her. She had a polyp that had been threatening to almost show out from one of her nostrils on wednesday. We used tea tree oil in the morning and evening and the polyps have shrunk quite a lot. I would say up to 50% in just 4 days! We are both quite amazed and I really wanted to let the world know. Try this out.

Hi, I have a suggestion for you. I have been fighting polyps for years with nasal steriods and occassional predinsone pills. I found a polyp protruding from my nostril and decided I was going to sterilize a needle nose plier and pull it out. I did, no pain, just a "snap" excuse the analogy, but it was kind of like picking a grape off a vine. I have removed about 4 of them with a small amount of blood and no pain.

Be very careful with tea tree oil. After about 3 days of use (cutips on the polyp) and then with my nose running, the oil came back out and burned the outside of my nostrils. The nostrils became very chapped with little cuts to the skin. I would suggest diluting the tree tea oil with another oil like olive or sesame. I quit using it. It took a week for it to heal. Now I am trying castor oil.
