Every nation and cultural group in the world has its own traditions of home remedies and folk medicine. At Earth Clinic, we think that every last one of them is valuable.

So it is our mission to collect folk cures and home remedies from community members throughout the world. Major healing traditions such as Ayurveda, the Western medical tradition, Traditional Chinese Medicine, South American Shamanism, Caribbean Voodoo medicine, and other well-known philosophies of medical treatment are just the tip of the surgical blade. Local communities everywhere in the world are caretakers for health wisdom no one else has yet discovered. It's a rich gift too precious not to share with the rest of the complementary and alternative health world!

Join the Conversation: We want everyone's help to record your traditional regional cures before such knowledge is lost. Help us build our World database! Please ask your parents and grandparents, co-workers from other countries, neighborhood emigres, and international pen pals about the remedies they used as children. We want to hear about the simplest remedies in all their national variations for fever, coughs, flu, and each of those common ailments that plagues people the world over and throughout time. Please help us add to our Global Folk Medicine library by submitting home remedies from your own countries and cultural groups! Earth Clinic will create a new country page and regional pages for the remedies we receive.

i have been going to the dead sea for 25 years. I go every year. i have seen the power of the dead sea. it really works. u need to go to the dead sea. All the products that are sold dont work. u need to go there.

it helps many skin ailments. U need to go there for 4 weeks. it wont help unless u stay there for 4 weeks. it works for exema , psorisis, sinus , arthritis.

people who go there get addicted. becuse it works. its not permanent. thats why people go back. The nicest place to stay there is ein gedi kibbutz. there are many hotels in the dead sea. the important thing is you need 4 weeks there in the sun and the sea. ive seen people get much better there in the last 25 years.

doctors wont tell u to go there. there are many medicalstudies that prove it works. the only problem is israel is a dangerous place.

Hi! I got lichen planus and it healed in less than 12 days after seeing a traditional medicine woman. Firstly you're not supposed to bath for 3 days as the water aggravates the skin. Then you're supposed to apply Fijian herbs to your skin everyday for 3 days. After the 3rd day, you take a swim in the ocean and she helps scrub the sores off and then the renewal of your skin begins. Not sure whats in the herbs. Also she recommends following the seventh day diet as in no red meat, caffeinated products, no crustaceans, spicy food, food with tomatoes, no bananas, etc. It works

The following link might be of interest to some Earth Clinic fans!!

Nice to know that some traditional remedies have a long and interesting pedigree isn't it?

My Taiwanese grandfather used to rub fresh ginger root directly on my skin whenever I had inflammation or swelling.

Does anyone know anything about a product called Padma 28... It's supposed to be good for circulation, calf cramps and a host of other things. It's made from 20 herbs from India. Thank you.. It's not cheap so I don't want to throw $ around until I get some sort of feedback about the product. Thank you

EC: We found an interesting study regarding Padma 28: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1232859/. Study says it's a Tibetan herbal remedy used to treat "...atherosclerosis, Charot syndrome, chronic active hepatitis, and infection of the respiratory tract..."

Hello, I have used and still using Padma. I feel it is good. After a few days I started to feel more warmth in my legs and extremities. I also felt more sharp in mind. I recommend it.
