I just wanted to say that the acv diet really works. When I first started the program I was 196lbs and I've been on it for 9 days and I now weight 187lbs!! I am so happy I stopped the diet, but I am now back on it. I am also doing the colon cleanse as well. The only thing that I am unsure about is how much am I to drink per day?

My boyfriend recently told me about Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with apple juice as a cure for sore throat, colds etc... I remember hearing about ACV in the 70's for weight loss but never knew how to take it. I did some research and found this site and decided to try it. I AM CONVINCED THAT ACV IS A MIRACLE CURE!! Remember the old adage "An apple a day keeps the doctor away"? Well I thought it can't hurt so I started drinking 2 t. of ACV with 6 oz. apple juice twice a day, 5 days ago. I have increased energy, decreased appetite and for the first time in 10 years I did not get a menstrual migraine with my period this morning. I've been taking Maxalt at least twice a month for years for hormonal migraines and did not need it today. That in and of itself has made me a believer. My boyfriend has also reported increased energy and general overall well being. We will continue to drink ACV daily. Thank you for this great site!

I tried ACV for the first time early last year; lost 45 pounds in about 3 months...Lowered the dosage when I reached my goal....Now whenever I gain a few pounds again I increase the dosage and quickly lose the weight...Is also great to knock out a sore throat, congestion, or colds...If I feel a sore throat or cold coming on at night I gargle the ACV twice (and swallow)...Nine times out of ten it is gone the next morning. Just be sure to swish out your mouth with water, it is acidic and will eat away at the enamel on your teeth.....So many people look for the "silver bullet" regarding weight loss; for most (not all) this is it...This has been around for years, but for whatever reason it is too simple for most folks to even consider...

Yacon Powder
Posted by Nat (Brooklyn, Ny) on 06/18/2020
★★★★★

Yacon syrup/powder helps support weight loss and helps improve intestinal motility.

The powder is much better tasting than the syrup. (bought it online from a nut/seed distributor).

One teaspoon to one tablespoon can be taken before a meal (mixed into water or just taken as a sweet powder), a few minutes to an hour before the meal.

* Too much can cause intestinal distress/diarrhea, (sometimes noticed only a few days later) so the dosage should be adjusted accordingly.

Yacon also lowers hunger level, so that one needs to eat less. It is also a pre-biotic helping to grow good bacteria.

It has many other benefits. It helps against certain cancers. It is anti-fungal. It helps to lower blood sugar, to lower cholesterol, to lower blood pressure. It helps the liver.

Green Tea, Garlic

I would like to add a couple remedies for weight loss.

I am 38 years old and about 8 months ago I started gaining weight for no reason. I had not changed my diet. I went to the doctor to ensure nothing was wrong medically and they checked my thyroid and everything else. All was normal. The doctor felt my metabolism was slowing down due to my age. I tried cutting back on food and calories and still no weight loss. It was beyond frustrating. ACV did not help me and coconut oil was just plain gross to eat for me.

The only thing that was helping was a keto diet but as soon as I ate any carbs the weight would come right back in a couple of days. Who wants to live without carbs? Not me. I read about green tea and also saw a testimonial for garlic.

I know people take garlic to lower cholesterol but I had not heard about it for weight loss.

So I started drinking one cup of green tea during the day. And in the evening after dinner or before I go to sleep I chop up 3 cloves of garlic and swallow it with water. I am finally losing weight while eating regular food. Carbs and all. I have noticed that I lose more weight while doing the garlic/green tea combination daily, even though they both probably work on their own.

5:2 Diet

I found the 5:2 eating program, I don't think it's a diet, here on Earth Clinic. I was feeling unhealthy and I don't think any strict diets work. I started in September of 2017 and am down 11.5 pounds. It's the easiest to follow and I actually look forward to my 500 days. I highly recommend!!!

I have been taking a teaspoon of activated charcoal first thing in the morning since the weather got hot. It has reduced my appetite considerably, given me more energy and I have no BO! I have also lost a few pounds without trying. I love it.

The headache is probably caused by the toxins that are escaping from your body during this process. Sometimes we get headaches or for the symptoms when we start to detox or start to get healthy. They shouldn't last more than 2 weeks maximum but it should start to feel relief quicker.

I agree with Michelle, ACV cures yeast and it cleared up my candida. Check your diet.

Chia Seeds

How do Chia Seeds keep you feeling full?

When the Chia Seed is exposed to water or other liquids it begins to hydrate. This means that the fibers on the outside of the seed (almost too small to see with the naked eye) begin to trap moisture and form it into a gel. Each seed forms its own big bead of gel, that is not easily removed. When you eat this seed/gel combination, your body treats it like a big piece of food... not the 0 calorie water that it really is! The seeds themselves are tiny and healthy, but it's their ability to absorb 9 TIMES their own weight in water that keeps you feeling full. This means you can use even 1 tsp of seeds to get rid of hunger whenever you want.

This also makes it a great value for you when 1 dry tablespoon of chia makes 9 tablespoons of hunger-fighting chia gel. It's as easy as scoop, pour and wait 10 minutes for the gel to form on its own. Water isn't the only answer, either. You can use your favorite juice drinks too, and chia will never cover up or dilute the flavor you love.

I just found this site the other day and have been reading some of the letters and all of the wonderful benefits these formulas are doing for everyone. I love this site and I'm going to keep coming back and reading more letters and how people are being help with all these formulas.

I have been drinking A/C/V and water for a very long time but, had to stop because I was losing to much weight. I starting back about a month ago and lost a lot of weight again I weight 110 when I started and now I weight 103. I'm going to stop dirning a 16oz glass once a day. Now I'm going to drink an 8oz glass every other day. I'm only 5'1 1/2" tall so, I don't need to lose anymore weight.

I was reading where you guys use baking soda in your A/C/V I tried that yesterday in an 8oz glass and I really did like it. It takes away some of that vinegar taste.

Good luck to everyone, I love you guys for all of the great formulas that you have put on this website.

Activated Charcoal
Posted by Michael (Peiraias, Atikh, Greece) on 04/07/2010

Its not healthy to consume activated charcoal close to meals because you may not be able to absorb the nutrients.
I saw that you take it 2 hours prior or after. So its just a word of precaution. :)

Avoid Butter and Restaurants
Posted by Citygirl27 (Richardson, Tx, Usa) on 07/30/2012

Butter in itself isn't bad, in fact it is much healthier and will have much less (if any) effect on your weight than the same amount of polyunsaturated oils or hydrogenated oils. The Indian restuarant was probably using clarified butter (ghee) which does not have milk solids in it. Not as bad, but coconut oil in Indian and other cooking is way better and should not be avoided.

As for restaurants, its all about choices. You dont have to "avoid restaurants" altogether. the main thing is to consider the portion size, sugar content, and beware of added flavorings like MSG.

Hey! I've been taking ACV for about 10 days with meals...twice a day. The best way I found to take it without tasting the actual vinegar is to put it in a glass of water with an AIRBORNE tablet. Airborne is great for keeping colds away and giving you energy...so I suggest taking it this way because you won't actually taste the vinegar and it actually tastes really good. I take the "lemon-lime" AIRBORNE (invented by a school teacher--fizzy drink) tablet...with a glass of water...and i use the measuring cup for cough syrup to measure the vinegar... my recipe: 1 Lemon-line Airborne tablet 1 glass of water at room temp 2 table spoons ACV

Drink it before meals twice a day...

I always brush my teeth right after too, the acidity is so high in the vinegar that my teeth started to get sensitive because the vinegar wears on the enamel. Anyway, I started out as being 108lbs...I just wanted to lose about 5 or 6lbs before going on vacay (to a beach city). That might seem like a lot of weight to lose but I am only about 5ft tall and very petite. Anyway, this stuff really works if you stick to it. I didn't lose weight gradually. I dropped about 4lbs in 5 days on the 5th day. For the skeptics out there, TRY IT! It also works great for sore throats...It helped me!

I have struggled with GERD, Overweight, and fatigue for several years. After the medical discovery that Prilosec, Nexium and other medications as these can stop calcium from being absorbed in your bones, I was a little scared. So I decided to do some web surfing for natural cures.. And YOU WERE HERE! Over a week ago I started the ACV and HOT water with baking soda mixture. The first three days I lost 5 pounds and my reflux problem was gone. It tried to come back later that first week, so I increased my intake of AVC to a more powerful solution.
1/2 cup of ACV
1/2 cup of water
1/2 teaspoon of Baking Soda ( 1 x day)

Today I weighed again ad I have lost 9 lbs! I am so happy! Plus my blood pressure is becoming more stable. The GERD is gone. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for this website! God bless you guys!!

Since turning 41 four years ago I've had a lot of trouble losing the 15 pounds that I put on quickly when I entered my forties. Nothing has worked. I've tried many "diet" pills and a low carb diet, spending a lot of money on the pills, but nothing worked over a long period of time. Even power walking, which I used to swear by, hasn't been working. My husband's cousin tried the Isagenix diet with great success, but I didn't want to invest hundreds of dollars and have it fail, too. So I got on the internet one day and started to think about what natural solution I could find. I tried the "lemon/maple syrup/cayenne pepper diet/cleanse before, but it is difficult to stick with. Then I thought about Apple Cider Vinegar and began to read about it. I started taking _______'s natural ACV a few weeks ago, mixed with water and cayenne pepper, and I can really see the results as far as weight loss/water retention loss goes. And I haven't even started to watch what I eat or exercise yet. I can see the pounds dropping off and my clothes are looser. It's a simple, healthy, remedy that has other health benefits (vitamins, minerals, reduces stomach problems) and doesn't cost a lot! I feel like I've finally found that certain something that has brought my metabolism back to where it should be.

5:2 Diet

My weight has always been 110 since college. I'm older now when I went off plants based hormones my weight jumped from 110 to 121. I was also staying up late working on a project which I believe contributed to weight gain. Being sleep deprived changes glucose metabolism and alter hormones involved metabolism. The 5: 2 diet which is eating regular healthy meals five days a week and for two days you cut calories to 500. I would only eat, between 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Since I wanted faster results, one day out of the week I only drink water with lemon. This seemed so much easier for me. My naturopathic put me got back on my plant based hormones and I also began jumping rope for ten minutes a day. In a little over five weeks my weight is back down to 110. Intermittent fasting is very powerful and it has helped a lot of people lose weight and improved their health. Two very informative doctors are discussing the powerful benefits of intermittent fasting, Dr. Jason Fung and Dr. Pradip Jamnadas he is director of cardiovascular

Eggs +

As a researcher, I found this the best way to work on my body:

1) 2-4 eggs per day

2) Light cheese 16% to 17% (do not use higher fat cheese)

3) Limited sugar (use stevia instead), limit potatoes, limit spaggetti, limit flour. This means that these should be used as less as possible.

Results were amazing for me, since I wanted to lose 6 to 7 kilos and this the only food combination that worked for me.

Plant-Based Diet

Hi Mama to Many -

What great results for your husband after three months on a gluten-free vegan diet - losing 40 pounds, almost no snoring, lowered blood pressure, etc. That is very impressive!

It was interesting to hear how he was able to adapt so readily to this diet after being a meat-and-potatoes sort of guy. Maybe there's hope for me :)

I'm sure his doctor will be very pleased with the results when he gets tested again in January.

Kudos to both of you - you're a very good team!

Take care,

Tessa

Neem Tea

O' My, Did I Write That?

As ORH once said, when I see some of my posts, I wonder who was that person. I decided to look at the weight loss posts and was surprised to see my reviews about Neem in the midst, they were from 2016. Life got much more interesting soon after that. Mother loved to go shopping every nice day, I would meet her and we would always have lunch out.

Anyway, I will see if this will happen twice. I will give Neem a few weeks and see if I can shake the weight off again.
