I happened upon this site by "accident." Actually, I think it was more of a "Divine intervention" because I have found SO much on this site that has been extremely helpful. Apple Cider Vinegar - I will ALWAYS make sure to have some on hand and will probably have a little each day from now on. Just a small amount-about a tbsp. in a glass of water has relieved PMS, sinusitis and a headache in less than minutes! THANK YOU!

I have been searching on the web for a site that promotes cleaning you meat with apple cider vinegar. This was a tradition in my family for at least 4-5 generations. I believe that a couple of capsulefuls won't hurt and gets all of that sticky, greasy, and nasty film of off meats like: steaks, poultry, porkchops, ribs etc. except for ground or chop meat. Ground beef or chopmeat is probably the only meat that I wouldn't suggest cleaning with vinegar just because of the type of meat that it is. I believe that apple cider vinegar minimizes alot of the bacteria found in our meat. Katie.

If you are burned by fire immediately pour ACV over the wound, there will be no pain or scar. Try it and be amazed.

The same is true for baking soda. The difference is you won't smell after you apply it to the wounded area.

I have always known ACV is good for sunburn, one cup in a tub of water and the sunburn is gone! So, when I was at work alone and severly burned my hand, I put ACV in a sink of water with ice cubes. I had to wait until someone else came into work before I could go to the hospital. On and off for about an hour I kept soaking my burnt hand in the ACV solution. When I arrived at the hospital my hand was bandaged and treated and I was told to return the next day to have this treament repeated. The next day I went back to the hospital and as the bandages were removed, the doctor was shocked! The deep red welt, the blister and all signs of a burn were gone.I had only a pink line. When I explained I had used ACV and ice, the staff were amazed! It truly worked a miracle, where I would have had a scar and therapy, I had onle one day of discomfort. I thank my mother for this.

My best friend's mom swears ASV works on burns. When I recently burned my thumb on the oven I immediately poured some in a small cup and soaked my thumb in it for awhile and sure enough!.....no burn pain, no scarring!

If you burn yourself, put ACV on the burn. The burn will stop burning quickly and will not blister as bad, if at all.

Hi, just needed to write to say I suffered from "bursitis" in the hip for a year and a half. Every doctor said the same thing: vicodin for the pain, advil for the inflammation, and prescription muscle relaxers for the accompanying muscle cramps, and several rounds of physical therapy. I certainly couldn't function on the medications, and only seemed to get temporarily, mildly better. I stumbled suddenly had a craving for sauerkraut, if you can believe it, and borscht and homemade salad dressings-all foods that I usually don't like. I am not exaggerating when I say I slept my first night pain free, and started doing the vinegar and honey concoction and simply can't believe I feel so good, so fast! I did increase my water intact, too, to aid in cleansing my body of whatever it had, too. I just used Heinz and Sue Bee and all that pain from mid-back to knees are gone. I even did yoga today which I love but was told it was irritating the bursas-"try swimming." How can I swim while taking vicodin and muscle relaxers?!?!?

My father had just retired. A very active man all his life, he found himself suffering with bursitis in the shoulder joints. After taking honey and cider vinegar twice am and eve. for approx two weeks he felt relief and better mobility. After 30 days he could do windmills with both arms. He was so grateful. Thanks for the site, love the generosity and sharing. Georgiana

After reading about canker sores and some home remedies on this site, I decided to try them. All today, I tried first Hydrogen Peroxide, that didn't work, then I put salt on it and it hurt sooooo bad and that didn't work. A few hours later, I couldn't take the pain anymore, so I decided to try apple cider vinegar. I put some on a Q-tip and it hurt soooooo bad, but a few minutes later the pain was basically gone. I went from not being able to talk to eating dinner within a matter of an hour. I am so amazed! I did it couple more times today and it did not hurt that much second time around. I am just amazed as how fast it worked.

I have suffered from chronic canker sores in my mouth for years. I am now taking apple cider vinegar along with using a toothpaste without sodium lauryl sulphate in it, and I am canker sore free!

I struggled with canker sores for years, no dentist or doctor could tell me why..... After researching on line I discovered that SLS ( sodium lauryl sulfate) could be the culprit.. Most toothpaste has SLS in it. I started making my own toothpaste with baking soda, coconut oil and peppermint drops and have NOT had a canker sore since.... I will not buy shampoo that has SLS in it.... hope this helps...

Hi,

My name is John and I'm so thankful to discover earthclinic.com . I get excited to log on and read so much supportive advice from many good people throughout the world .

Here is my question : Is there an apple cider vinegar pill ? I'm concerned about tooth enamel being compromised .

If pills are available : 1- Are they as beneficial as the liquid ? 2- what is the recommended amount to take and how often ?

Thank you for any advice . Happy New Year!

Dear John,

My husband takes 2 Apple cider vinegar tablets a day. They seem to be helping him, though he is taking other supplements and I don't quite know which is helping him most.

Personally, I prefer not to use the pills bit I think they are better than nothing if you need them. I have been using raw ACV for years and the dentist does not see it harming my enamel. But I do dilute in a lot of water when I take it.

So just try what you are comfortable with. Everyone's needs are different, so you would need to experiment around with your dosage. Start small and increase if needed.

Let us know how it goes.

Thank you Mama to Many in Tennessee.

Could you please tell me how much water do you mix with your Apple Cider Vinegar and the number of times you drink the mixture each day ?

God bless you! John

Dear John,

I usually just have a 12 ounce glass or a 16 ounce mason jar that I drink from. The amount I add has varied. When I was dealing with reflux in pregnancy, I added a Tablespoon to my water glass several times a day for that.

If I am taking it as a general health tonic I might add just 1/2 teaspoon or a teaspoon per glass of water. (And I might drink this 4 times a day.)

You may have to try different amounts and see how you feel. Everyone's needs are different.

I hope you find it as helpful as I do!

God bless you!

Hi Mama to Many,

Thank you for the information you gave me .

You and I have similar habits using Apple Cider Vinegar. I started using Apple Cider Vinegar a month ago today . Sometimes I need some sort of confirmation to know I'm doing the right thing and that's what you gave me. Thank you!

I heard you're having a colder than normal day in Tennessee . Stay warm and remember, Spring isn't far away.

God bless you, John

Hi! I actually take the apple cider vinegar tablets 2 pills a day with 8 oz. of water and still get the benefits as of 2tsp of ACV in water. Very effective! The pills even speed up my metabolisim to shed a few pounds, always an added plus!

Hi, I've heard for years how great ACV is. However, I truly cannot stand the taste. Do the ACV pills work? I've tried hiding the ACV in noncaloric drinks, but there is no hiding it for me. Help?

Hi Anne,

I would check the reviews under Apple Cider Vinegar capsules or tablets on Amazon. Braggs finally started selling ACV capsules with added D3 and Zinc, so perhaps! However, on Earth Clinic, there are old posts that say capsules or tablets are not as effective as liquid.

Here are the customer reviews for Bragg's on Amazon.

Hello all, I know ACV is a remarkable substance that can be used for so many things. But it is soo hard for me to take. It just makes my stomach turn. Are ACV capsules equivalent to the liquid? TIA

Dear Sheila,

I was skeptical at first but do think that Apple Cider Vinegar Capsules are helpful. I get mine from Costco. Huge bottle and I generally like all the supplements I get from Costco.

Dear Kuar,

Stephen Buhner has some great formula's for figuring out dosing for children. This is for herbal medicines, but I find it useful for other natural medicines as well.

Cowling's Rule: The age of a child at his or her next birthday divided by 24. For a child coming 8 years of age, the dose would be 8 divided by 24, or one third of the adult dose.

For my teenage children, if they are about my size (in height and weight) I give them about what I would give myself.

I would also start with a lesser dose and work up to more so you can best monitor any adverse effects. Even with natural medicines, there can be too much of a good thing.

In 1972 my father was in his late 40's. Being from Wisconsin his diet included quite a bit of fatty food. Most of his weight was in his belly. Not uncommon in Wisconsin. At that time, I don't know where he found it, but he came home one day and announced that he was going to cut out 25% of the fat in his diet and drink 8 oz of luke warm water every night with 1 Tbsp of Cider Vinegar and 1 Tbsp of Honey.
I was still very young, and had a problem with bed wetting. He gave me his mixture one night before bed and told me that I would never wet the bed again, I didn't.

I now suggest organic for both and Raw Honey.
In a matter of two months, all of his belly weight had disappeared.
To add to that what I have learned over the years...
I am not Jewish, but NOT mixing milk products with meat is also very helpful since it it easier to digest out food.
What Western medical doctors won't tell us also is that when we combine our protein and carbs they turn into fat in our bodies immediately. We do need carbs, but complex carbs rather than all of the processed white flour and white sugar. Processed food is poison more than anything. We really can't trust the FDA. They allow chemicals to be put in our food. I believe that so many health problems are caused by chemicals that our bodies just don't agree with. Western doctors will just keep treating the symptoms.

Try Oatmeal and sprouted grain breads and pastas, you'll be surprised at how quickly you get use to them.
Lean protein and vegetables together.
Don't get on the scale every day, you'll just frustrate yourselves.
When I got pregnant with my son I weighed 125 pounds. I ate like a foodball player during my pregnancy. I gained over 100 pounds! He was a big beautiful 10 lb baby, lol
After nursing for a year and continuing to eat well I lost it all.
Look at the size of your bone structure and don't pressure yourself. Not all of us are meant to be skinny, just healthy and in proportion. Consider your genetic background.

I believe that Cider Vinegar is an amazing remedy for just naturally cleansing out our bodies, not just breaking down fat. Bath in it too. Try a full cup in a bath and massage cellulite. You will need to increase your water intake. I weigh 140 pounds now and I drink almost a gallon of water a day.

I just started Oil Pulling for my overall health and dental since I don't have a fortune to spend on my teeth.
Bless all of you and your health. You can do it!

I have been using ACV for just under 2 weeks and I cannot believe, my cellulite thighs are toning up! I am 60 lbs over weight and cellulite has been an issue forever despite excercise and nutrition. Since I strted the ACV, I notice the dimples in my thighs are disappearing! I cannot believe it but it is true!

I read Dr. D.C. Jarvis's book about folk medicine around 1960 and began to give my children apple cider vinegar whenever they got the stomach flu. It always worked. I believe he was the one who said that the vinegar changed the ph balance in the intestinal tract so that the virus couldn't live and reproduce.
