I am curious about your statement about having a fat cell forever. I'm not sure I understand. What would be the point of trying to loose weight if you will never loose the fat cells. I think somebody has given you some bad information. True, some fat cells are harder to get rid of than others but if the body has a choice of using / burning body fat or excessive calorie intake it it take the latter. Usually, under normal circumstances, reducing intake of calories and raising levels of excercize can help with removing body fat.

You have a set number of fat cells in your body. When you lose weight, the cells get smaller; they don't exit your body. Other than the cells' normal life cycle, the only way you can remove fat cells is lipo-suction. Even then, we seem to be able to regrow fat cells. Check out this story

Exercise and Diet
★★★★★
1. I started working out with a personal trainer (half hour sessions) 2x a week doing core training (lots of stomach work). After this session, he makes me do 45 minutes of cardio. Before this I was working out 4-5 days a week at the gym by myself and obviously something wasn't working!
The interesting thing that I have learned from my trainer is that you don't want to keep doing the same kind of cardio day after day. Your body becomes very efficient and burns fewer and fewer calories. You want to jolt your system by changing the kind of cardio. So now one day I jog lightly, the next session I do 45 minutes of ellipitical, then another day I do the bike. The personal trainer has been a great investment, I must admit.
The next thing I have taken ahold of is my diet. I am eating only simple foods that are easy to digest. Wheat products now basically out, as are starchy carbs like rice and potatoes. Cheese is out too (slow to digest). I have also cut radically back on my sugar intake, since that appears to be the big impediment to weight loss. I have half a teaspoon of organic brown sugar in my tea a few times a day, but that's it. I have lost 3 lbs in 2 weeks, but the most noticeable change is in my face where the skin right under my chin is firming up (no more jowel forming!). My stomach is slowly slimming too.
Oh, one more thing... weight training adds more weight to the muscles, so you can't always go by that. Better to measure body fat than your weight.
Hope this helps!

Fasting 5:2 Diet
★★★★★
This is incredible! I have tried EVERY diet out there, doing research for years on nutrition and diet, went gluten-free for a while, went vegan, but could not lose those those last stubborn 10 pounds. I started fasting 22 hours, two days per week, and my life has changed. I am under 130 for the first time in a decade and ALL my old clothes fit again. Words cannot describe what it feels like to feel like your old self, and more importantly, feel in permanent control of your weight--it's been years of desperation and yo-yo dieting. Not to mention what it does to your mood!
I fast on Mondays and Wednesdays(or Thurs, depending on plans). I eat a full meal the night before around 7:30 and then eat 22 hours later around 5:30. I drink coffee in the morning and maybe another cup of coffee or tea around 2:00(I set an alarm on my phone) and just sip water casually throughout the day. Life changing. It's so much easier than you think just to skip a couple meals and just say to yourself, "I'm not very hungry" than it is to constantly stress about planning meals and waste time and energy counting calories. Just find projects to focus on and keep your mind distracted and you will be fine. Sipping water also prevents hunger pangs so it's easy to forget you are even fasting.
Prayer and/or journaling during these days is the easiest way to transform your mind while transforming your body. Just purge every thought out on paper and don't sensor yourself(you can always burn it! ) But try fasting, it will seriously get you off the diet roller coaster and completely reset your taste buds for healthier eating. Trust me, you really can do this!
Fennel
The book is called "The book of herbs" and is by Dorothy Hall. This book was published in the 1970s, so if you are seeking it you may only find it used.
In this book, the author suggests that you can improve your eye sight by "boiling fennel leaves in water until the water is reduced by half" and applying this to the eyes every day when it's cool. She lists no exact qualities because she says these aren't necessary. The body will use what it needs and discard the rest.
She also suggests drinking fennel tea to keep slim. Maybe people are confusing fennel with fenugreek which would explain several recent comments about people gaining weight while taking fenugreek.
My question is, has anyone tried these remedies? I know that fennel is good for digestion, but for weight loss and eye sight too?

Hi AC,
Don't know if you are still around, but you was asking if anyone had tried Fennel herb and whether it was good for weight loss or eyesight? I have always suffered with chronic constipation from a little girl and just over a year ago, it was seriously constipated for 6 WEEKS! I simply could not go. I tried 7 drugs from the NHS, none of them worked. I tried herbs, nope! I was desperate and my son Paul, was worried sick because he knew I would not go to hospital. I remember having a little jar somewhere with a powdered herb in it and thought "i wonder what ii bought that for?" It was Fennel and I found it hidden in the back of the cupboard! I took a flat teaspoon in my coffee, and a miracle occurred! Within 1 hour I went to the toilet, no pain, just went normally as though I had never been constipated! My son was releived and so was I! Now, nothing and I mean nothing works for me, despite my trying other stuff for constipation, but Fennel does it every single time. No pain, no diarreah, I just go normal within the hour to two hours of taking it in my coffee, incidentally I just ordered another 400 grams because I would be lost without it. Now I have been taking this for about 8 months virtually every day. Nope! No weight loss! My eye sight is pretty bad, and I know this for certain because April 2021, I had a very serious emergency operation for Diverticulitis and was rushed to hospital, within 10 days of being in hospital, I lost 14 lbs in weight! Simply because I couldn't eat a single thing the hospital gave me due to the most chronic acid reflux!! I was actually over the moon because I had desperately been trying to lose weight and I went from 9 stone 2 lbs to 8 stone!! Oh 16 lbs I lost!
Now I have put all the weight back on and am exactly 9 stone 2 lbs again! I am only 4 ft 9 inches tall and very petite, and although curvy at the waist, and quite nice figured for my age, 9 stone 2 lbs makes me look thick set because I am so short!! So of course, like you I came back to Earth Clinic to have a read up. Now it could be that Fennel will help you lose weight? But I have just weighed myself, and nope I am 9 stone 2 lbs, so the weight I lost last year has all come back on. I only eat 1 meal per day, and a salad or some fruit or couple salad sandwiches later in the evening, I doubt I even eat more than 1500 calories a day, but it could be because I don't exercise. So just wanted to explain that I do take Fennel powder every single day, twice a day, I regret I haven't lost any weight from it, but it is absolutely brilliant, if you suffer with constipation! It is for me anyway! Your message is a bit old so not sure if you still come online, or you've probably found your answer by now, but just in case anyone else is curious, it could help people lose weight but sadly not for me it never!

I'm not questioning what the contributor said, because I think that we all react differently to what we intake. That was her experience and it rests there.
I recently went on holiday to China and Japan, and when I arrived back was struck with an overwhelming tiredness, and every bone in my body ached. Was it jet lag, I wondered, but the symptoms still continued, so I starting taking Apple Cider Vinegar, Maple Syrup, lemon juice, bi carb, and a dash of cayenne pepper. Within a couple of days I'd started to feel well again, and so have continued with this mixture, and I am amazed at the way it has increased my energy and well being.
However, I'm sorry to report there's been no weight loss!! Thanks for your web site. I do enjoy it!

I would like the opinion of the site on the above subjects. They sounded very good so I started this morning by having fruit, an apple, and now have indigestion which this system is supposed to eliminate.
Does it work and any suggestions?
Thank you,

WARNING!
Evidently, there are good scientific reasons to think that especially the prolonged use of garcinia cambogia extract increases the risk of diabetes in healthy people and worsens the disease in existing diabetics (described rather in detail in the scholarly report at How Garcinia Cambogia Side Effects Increase The Diabetes Risk).
Several of the physiological processes that product is accomplish that overlap with statin drugs which are clearly implicated with notably causing diabetes because both agents inhibit the production of cholesterol in the body.

Then, on becoming vegan and shunning wheat and gluten, in about four months I lost it! Now I can crunch a bra in one fist, and fittings are a problem of the past. All this due to education on EC!
