Paul, I am on week 3 of that same virus! Exactly the symptoms you are talking about. Light plegm, scratchy cough! I have tried high doses of vitamin c, vitamin d, elderberry extract, homeopathic remedies for coughs, multi vitamins. Would get better, then come back.
Since yesterday I am doing the hydrogen peroxide inhalation method every 3 hours and sipping straight apple cider vinegar with a little hot water added. Felt better right away. The straight acv has stopped the cough right away. I just need to remember to keep sipping it. Not so bad if you add hot water.

Nebulizing With Hydrogen Peroxide + Iodine

During the the Covid-19 issue, I was a frontline person with constant exposure to sick people. Being a strong proponent of self care, I researched all the info presented by many people and Dr. Bernstein has the most documented success. Along with Dr.Mercola, I felt the following was the best solution for me.
If I was exposed, I did the following,
- 1 drop food grade 3% h202
- 2 drops 2% Lugols iodine
- 3 ml normal saline solution
put above in a nebulizer cup
Nebulize with a table top nebulizer
frequency:
1. Use as needed once a day if minor cold like symptoms present. Start immediately
2. If symptoms get more pronounced, two times a day
3. If breathing problems begin, hourly until you begin to feel better, then back to 3 times a day, then back to 1 time a day
I never got to #3 because I caught anything early. The key is to CATCH it early. If my throat got scratchy or my sinus kicked in, this is what I did. Because there are so many unknowns, the Lugols seems to take it to the next level for me.

Oil Pulling, Castor Oil Packs
Does anyone have any experience with this? I am looking to rid my body of a virus as well as remove toxins. I am curious how long I should continue with this. I feel my symptoms are slightly worse but read this is to be expected. Should I continue? Should I choose one method only? Would love any suggestions people may have.

To Alcalize the body, I tried successfully the following: eat potatoes twice a day plus other vegetables. If PH very low (ie 5), add two half glasses of Raw Potatoes Juce a day (to be bought in organic shop, a bit dear but it is worth it). This is very efficient and in a very short delay (2 or 3 days). Of course, as you have a virus, it will be necessary to continue this "treatment" for several weeks, even months depending on the evolution of the PH and of your illness.
Potatoes are the most alcaline food, it is so easy to consume and not too expensive, and so efficient. At the same time, avoid the Acidic food (mainly the animal products, the cereals, oranges, grapefruit...), and keep eating as much Alcaline food as possible : mainly vegetables and fruits, nuts, buckwheat, corn, brown rice, a little bit of white fish two or three times a week, sometimes oily fish (no sea food). I hope this will help you to get better.

If you use Vitamin C, use acid neutral vitamin C or else you'll encounter problems from the acidity of the vitamin C. Sugar in your blood or intestine slows absorption, so take on an empty stomach or before exercising. Dosage is variable. Some people need 10 grams a day. Some people only need 500mg a day. Larger doses (above a gram or so) need to be divided into several smaller doses and taken with large amounts of water throughout the day.
Drinking alcohol depletes glutathione in the liver and increases the need for vitamin C.

11/29/2007: Joh replied, "I'm not sure what her clinical condition was at the time. This is in Central America, It took her two years before a diagnoses was made. She had been to sick to work, and losing weight from not being able to keep food down. lots of problems with her skin, and other organs. I found an Internet site that reported on research done at the University of Rome on Rats that was successful in controlling virus in rats by using resveratrol. I had successfully controlled my Pancreatic cancer taking resveratrol, so I gave her daily doses of 500mgs.
All of her symptoms reversed 100% in just 3 or 4 days. She's back working full time. Now, The article I found was published in the Journal of infectious Diseases, and by CIDRAP (University of Minnesota) . I'm not necessarily interested in having anything published, and I'm sorry I can't be more informative. I'm just hoping more information might become available on the potential benefits by taking resveratrol to those with Lupus. Their are almost no side effects, and it is very affordable. Now research is being done on its potential benefits for herpes, Alzheimer's, cardiovascular problems, cancer prevention, and treatment, and infectious disease. Olive Leaf extract. Take 2 capsules, three times a day, until the bottle is empty. It does not matter if you take them with or with out food.
Also during that time eat one Avocado a day. That will give your body glutathione to assist in powering the immune system.
Take a daily multi vitamin for the antioxidants. Be sure to choose one that has at least daily amount of 1,000 IU of vitamin D and 200 mcg of Selenium. Those will also assist in the a speedier recovery.
Looking forward to your update of a speedy recovery for future people who may unfortunately experience Ross River Fever.

Ross, Ive been severely ill, incapacitated with severe pain and got worse over 20 yrs after ross river. But I didnt know about fibromyalgia, cfs and chemicals. Take those seriously and you'll have a better chance than me. Apple cider vinegar, organic food, immune and liver supports you can look up on here and you should recover well. Perhaps check out if you have any food allergies, metal toxicities - get a hair analysis done.
Salt Water, Hydrogen Peroxide in Ears

I was too tired to hunt down my netti pot, but I wanted to do what I could to kill any germs in my sinuses, throat and ears, primary points of germ introduction to the body and places where viruses replicate.
I put a teaspoon of salt into a mug with a cup of hot water. I snuffed it up into my sinuses and gargled with it a few times. I put hydrogen peroxide in my ears.
I repeated this before going to bed. I also drank a mug of vinegar tea (1 T. vinegar, 2-3 t. honey, hot water). I got a good night sleep (6.5 hours counts as good for me) and did feel much better when I woke up in the morning.
I continued my attack on viruses with my salt water and peroxide a few times during the day.
I felt fine by bedtime and have felt fine since.
I love cheap and easy remedies!
My mother was a strong advocate of salt water gargling, but I never saw the point. It just seemed too simple. I should have paid more attention to her wisdom!

You are so right, Mama! My mom was always into the really simple solutions: salt water gargle fixed just about anything, mud packs, H2O2, vinegar, coffee grounds. Seriously sometimes she'd go out and pick weeds and come up with something that worked. Let's remember all the old remedies for sure.

I was wondering if this sounds about right for viruses:
For the first 3 days take Aspirin (any mg suggestions?)
Take Zinc 50mg (either acetate, choloride or gluconate) for about a month max. You mentioned taking this in a crushed or chewed form..or powdered form...where can I get that?
Take 6 drops of 3% food grade h202 in 1 glass of water 4x a day
Followed by 1 fresh squeezed lemon or lime with 1/4 baking soda until fizz stops and then add water 3x a day
Take Magnesium supplements 250 mg a day
Take Chromium chloride, sodium vanadate and tungsten (should I take all 3 or just one, and if just one or all three how many mg?)
Would it be over kill to inhale the h202 as well?
What do you mean by salt form of mineral rather than organic form?
Do you think this remedy for 1 month could kill a low grade form of HPV?

Hey was wondering the same thing as you did you ever find out if that will cure herpes? I have genital herpes and have been trying mega dose VC and didn't seem to wrk as I got an outbreak after two weeks of doing the super dose with powdered ascorbate acid which ended up being about 34 grams a day and am down to just 21 grams a day now. Eat fruits with the supplements. Increases the effectiveness.
Few people understand the crippling effects to the immune system by toxic refined sugars, processed vegetable oils, junk foods, chemicals in processed foods, all soft drinks, soy, soy milk, microwave, deep fried foods and artificial sweeteners. The excess sugars in the body are used by fungus, yeasts, parasites, diseases to grow and replicate. Cause allergies, bipolar, depression, obesity. B 3 has a positive effect on depression, nerve damage and bipolar. Research???
Vitamin C and Vitamin E

At the beginning of a virus: take 3000 mg of Vitamin C along with one 400 I. U. softgel of Vitamin E.
I'm an R.N. And had not heard of this before until a friend of mine in healthcare mentioned a couple of years ago. Apparently Vitamin E has a synergistic effect on Vitamin C. 3000 mg of Vitamin might sound like a lot; but remember C is water soluble, so what your body doesn't use, you'll pee the rest out. Granted Vitamin E is not water soluble, but I only take this concoction when I begin to feel sick. I'll take it as soon as the symptoms begin, then when I go to bed, when I wake up the next morning, and usually one more dose several hours later. I typically don't need to take it more than that as my symptoms disappear and whatever it was that was starting never culminated into a cold or anything else. You can buy Vitamin C where each tablet is 1000 mg; so you only need to take three of them. They're large and granted Vitamin C is kind of bitter, even if they're flavored tablets and the larger ones tend to be more expensive; but I prefer to do that as opposed to taking several of the smaller ones that are a smaller dose per tablet.
Anyone I've mentioned this to by the way, has eventually gotten back with me telling me that this worked for them.
I've only recently returned to nursing full-time as I had been a FT CSI while working PT as an R.N. For 13 years... So I'm still in the process of building up my immunity level. Most people in healthcare, after working full-time for 6 months, will have never been sicker those first 6 months, and then suddenly, it seems you just don't get anything. In the meantime, I'll stick with C & E regimen. It's worked every time without fail so there has to be something to it. I've been using it for about two years now since my friend told me about it.
