BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

I tried the oil pulling method and I must admit that the first two weeks my skin was unbelievable. I could not stop looking in the mirror. I am 44 years old and I swear I was looking at least ten years younger. The pores around my nose had tightened and the laugh lines had started disappearing. I used one tablespoon of sesame oil every morning before brushing and flossing. After the first two weeks I ended up with a sore throat, pink eye and skin rash. I have never suffered from pink eye before. I know this was from the O/P. I beleive it was the toxins finding an escape route. I started again this week but I am only O/P once a week and then I will gradually work my way up to daily O/P again. If anyone has any suggestions or any similar experiences can you please post. Thanks.

I have been doing oil pulling for a little under a week. I woke up with bilateral pink eye, a sore throat, and a face covered in acne:/

I started oil pulling with unrefined sesame oil 2 months ago, the inital results were great. My skin glowed exceptionally well. Then I read Ted's opinion on which oils work best, one of them being refined sunflower oil. I switched to sunflower oil and the results were unfavorable, my skin did not glow at all, as a matter of fact it looked quite dull. I stopped used sunflower oil and switched back to unrefined sesame oil. And my skin is glowing once more. I have been acne free since oil pulling and I've been sleeping soundingly too. I have recommended oil pulling to my sister who's had a loose tooth and the oil pulling has since reinforced her loose molar.

I have been oil pulling a little over a week now with sesame oil and my acne has improved. I would recommend anyone having acne to give it a try.

Angie from Sparta, MO, your post is giving me hope. I have suffered from acne all of my life (I'm 40). From time to time I would go on oral birth control to diminish the acne but did not like being on more prescriptions than I had to be and also did not like the side effects. I even use the famous skin care products (begins with a P) that you see advertised on TV, but around certain times of the month, nothing helps. I just started OPing three days ago and am optimistic. Good to know that this is a condition that may be helped!

Oil Pulling. Any benefit with this therapy for weight loss? In the short time I've been doing Oil Pulling, I have seen some very good changes in my complexion and energy level and would like to lose some weight and wondered if oil pulling is effective in this regard.

Oil Pulling Causing Side Effects After 5 Months

I am really confused, i have been oil pulling for almost 10 months now, once a day i morning mostly sunflower and recently a few with olive oil. About 5 months ago every time i spat out, i did one big cough and bought up phlegm, directly after spitting one big cough. Then about two months ago the cough developed to an hour, once after spittiong out, then later in the day for an hour. That has since got more regular, not worst, but just coughing a lot up.

Also shortly since starting op, i've got some swellings on neck under jaw, no pain just slight swelling.

I am a smoker (been smoking packet a day for 30 yrs), but i'd never been a cougher till recently. i went to the dr. with my 2 months coughing, quick chest examination they said probably a virus. Seemed nothing wrong with lungs. I think it is the op'ing bringing up and clearing my mucus. is that possible.?

I also daily have a salad dressing which has ACV and Turmeric and Cayenne.

Dear Stephen,

I have been oil pulling for about 9 months. I had a weird thing happen with Sunflower oil - my wedding ring became very HOT and I had to remove it for a few days while the burn on my finger healed. (I have had that ring on my finger for 37 years w/o taking it off). I only used that oil for 2 days. Previously, I used organic, cold pressed or expeller pressed sesame oil (unrefined). While using the sesame oil, I would spit up mucus after oil pulling. I was a smoker, but not a heavy one. I take the mucus as a very good sign.

I would recommend that you change your oil to Sesame. I no longer do it every day. Perhaps your body is telling you to slow down on the oil pulling. Do it every other day and see what happens. I am not sure about the swelling - but again, I would recommend switching your oil.

Good luck!

Dear Renate from So. Fla: Your post made me think about an experience that I had about a month ago. My wedding ring started bothering me one day. In the evening when I get home I take all my jewelery off to do my chores. On this day I couldn't take my wedding ring off. I tried oil, soap and still wouldn't come off. Meanwhile I felt my finger was swelling up. I went to bed with that "funny" feeling on my finger and then my whole arm started getting weird too. So I finally got up, woke up my husband and made him cut the ring off my finger. I have been oil pulling for a little while now (maybe like a month and a half). I started with coconut oil and then changed to Sesame oil, but never conected it until I read your post. I am still not sure that is the cause, but your comment about the burning sensation on your finger caught my eye. I just wanted to share this to see if anybody has any input. Thanks!

After o/ping for about three weeks I had a crazy burning sensation on my shin. My skin also itched. Then my shin had a bright red spot that literally healed like a burn!!!! I stopped o/ping (sunflower) but recently started with no side effect.

I have been oil pulling since July 2011. I started because I have Lyme disease (diagnosed 4/2010) and am desperate to feel well again. I am currently on 2 different antibiotics and have tried various natural alternatives.

Although it has not helped with Lyme it has made a difference with 2 things. My lips had dark spots that are almost gone. I had them for about 10 years and doctors said they were just discoloration from sun exposure. The second thing is I have hemorrhoids that would bleed for about 2 weeks straight every month. This has happened only once, when I stopped oil pulling for about 2 weeks. I started again the bleeding stopped in about 2 days and has not happened again. Hopefully it will start to help in other areas also. I use cold pressed sesame oil.

Swollen Glands From HIV

I've been Oil Pulling for 3 days now. I use unrefined sesame oil for 20 minutes each evening (I cant stomach it in the mornings). First and foremost I noticed my my teeth are several shades whiter already. My energy increased for the first 2 days, however today I am feeling slight nausea, however I understand this might be due to the cleansing. NOW, the most amazing thing I noticed today was that the glands at the base of my neck which have been swollen for approx 9 mos have completely disappeared!! I was recenlty diagnosed HIV+ and was told the glands would pretty much always be swollen for the rest of my life...however today they are gone at the base of my neck and the ones under my chin are about half as big as they were over the previous 9 months. I AM AMAZED! I HAVE NO REASON TO MAKE THIS UP! Do I think it will cure HIV? NO. However something big is happening here. My next appointment to check my HIV viral load is in about 30 days, I will let you know the results!!!

You might find it interesting to go to miraclemineralsupplements.org. When you find Jim Humble's site you can download the first half of his book on MMS for free. I liked the first half so much that I have already paid $9.95 to download the 2nd half of the book. I think this guy is onto something here and he claims cures for malaria, cancer, hepatitis AB & C, HIV, and a few others. I have just ordered some of this MMS to check it out myself (if it doesn't kill me then I'll definitely recommend it to family, friends, and of course Earth Clinic. This poor guy has been trying to go through proper channel to get it to the public since he was 61 years old (now 75+) and is using this method to get the knowledge to the public. If this checks out to be as good as he says and as safe, you had better believe that Big Pharm and Big AMA, Big entire Medical Field will start trying to discredit &bad mouth it because, it is going to play hell with "job security" throughout all of the above mentioned. I suspect that Jim Humble is right when he said get you some as soon as you can because he suspects it is going to become scarce as hen's teeth once their job security chain starts clanking.

For years I have had a raw, almost purplish red area on my throat that always alarmed physicians but they could not heal it. I did the op and within 4 days the redness is fading significantly. My throat is looking a normal pink color and the soreness is leaving. This is like a miracle since nothing had helped in the past. i have no idea what was the source of the problem but I am thrilled to see it being healed.

After giving birth to my daughter 9 years ago, I developed TMJ. About a year ago, I started oil-pulling with organic sesame oil after reading about it at various sites. One day, I realized that my jaw didn't make noises anymore, and I also have full range of motion. In addition to oil-pulling, I also take hot, detox baths with 2 cups of Epsom Salts, and frequently cleanse my ear canals with 3% food-grade, hydrogen peroxide for approximately 10 minutes.

Torn Ligaments on Feet

My situation is I have multiple sclerosis and have been disabled since 1995. Have been trying to exercise for 5 years first on treadmills, eliptical, etc. to keep my muscles healthy. Developed torn ligaments on both feet which looks like a red bump on the middle of both feet which hurts alot. The podiatrist said surgery or cortisone shots. I didn't like either of those choices. At the gym a reflexologist told me about oil pulling with sesame oil, 1Tbls for 20 minutes. Then following with 32 oz. of water with 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar. The red bumps are going away after just 2 weeks of op and water with acv and no pain. He said a side benefit is whiter teeth and yes that is happening too. What a wonderful, easy way to care for myself. I hope it regenerates and heals brains too.

Triggered Black Spots on Tongue

About a year ago i started oil pulling with seseme oil but after a couple of weeks I noticed black spots had appeared in clusters on my tongue. This seemed to be the only side effect, apart from that it had the desired effect. I stopped oil pulling until a couple of weeks ago (now with coconut oil) and so far, the black spots have neither increased or reduced in appearance. Any reason why the black spots appeared and whether or not they will spread? I love the benefits of oil pulling but i am too vain to walk around with a black tongue.

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

Hi all!

I have been oil pulling for about 2 weeks now. Two times a day, a tablespoon at a time. I have been using virgin coconut oil. My teeth do feel cleaner, they don't look whiter yet, but I'm hoping that that will come. My gums no longer bleed when I floss, yay! I have experienced some side effects. I developed a sore on my gums about two days into it, but it went away. And then about a week into it, I developed a really bumpy, tender and itchy rash on my forearms. It didn't occur to me that this might be from oil pulling because I am using new bed sheets, but I thought to google it tonight and apparently I'm not the only one who has developed the same type of rash from pulling with virgin coconut oil...I think that it's called Keratosis Pilaris. Their thoughts are that it might be yeast being pushed out of the body. I'm treating the rash on my arms with coconut oil and cortizone right now...will update if anything else happens.

Hey, they same thing happened to my forearms but I never connected it. I just started oil pulling with organic coconut oil (3 times so far) and I have had a very itchy throat.... It feels like I am on the verge of losing it. I am oil pulling with my 6 year old daughter who suffers from severe sinusitis. She is a trooper and has made it up to 15 minutes.... Lots of drainage, but still a lot of congestion. I am hoping for good results! I have a few metal fillings in my back teeth... Should I be worried these are going to fall out?

Oil Pulling Causing Crippling Pain in Hip

Hello, I started oil pulling some weeks ago now but after two weeks I got a crippling pain in my hip. I switched oils from sunflower to olive but this made no difference. I stopped the oil pulling for two weeks and the pain stopped. I restarted the oil pulling again yesterday and immediately the pain came back. I've never had this pain before and it's so bad I've started to walk with a limp. Has anyone else experienced this pain? Should I stop? Continue? I was doing so much good for the pain. Help..

Hi:o),
I came across your post and thought it was interesting. I started oil pulling about 2 months ago. At the same time I started a bottle of gold coin grass to help out my gallbladder situation. I was painfully limping for ~3 days and sore for a few weeks. I had attributed the pain to the gold coin-gallbladder meridians pass through hip areas. But now I wonder which caused the pain. I continued on through. Healing crisises are common and at least signify to me I'm heading in the right direction. My hip pain has never been as bad as that first month. Hope this helps:o)
