Anise oil can also be applied to the neck and chest to help heal and soothe laryngitis. One of our readers reports that swabbing the back of your throat with a q-tip coated in anise oil can cure laryngitis quickly.

Anise seeds can also be used for laryngitis by taking 2 teaspoons of the seeds and boiling them in a few cups of water for 10 minutes. From this, you drink a tablespoon at least 3-4 times during the day. You can also gargle with anise seed tea every few hours.

If you try anise for your sore throat, please let us know how it worked out!

Years ago, my nail tech told me to try Anise Oil.

She swabbed the back of my throat with Anise Oil, and I got my voice back. The only problem with this is, as many of your know, Anise oil is what gives black licorice its flavor. And for me, that is EEEYUUCKK!!! But... in an emergency... it DOES truly help.
