Apple cider vinegar works. I had a severe case of food poison lasting 2 1/2 weeks. Severe stomach pain, fever, chills, body aches severe diarrhea and I went to a medical doctor and a digestive disease specialist both confirming food poison one prescribed high dose of antibiotics the other saying to stop antibiotics and let it run its course. After 2 weeks of on and off illness I decided to try the apple cider vinegar by taking 2 tbsp straight undiluted . Later on I had a horrible bowel movement but I felt like it was the bacteria coming out. The next day I took another dose but diluted with warm water and honey. And the sickness disappeared!!

Re: Food Poisoning - We all know that gurgling, acidic, unsettling feeling in our stomachs that is quickly followed by the thought "Oh no, I'm about to be sick". Then comes the nausea and stomach cramping. I read the reviews here and went to the nearest store and bought organic Apple Cider Vinegar immediately.

I added 2 teaspoons to about 4 ounces of cold water and sipped on the concoction over the course of 15 minutes. Within 15 minutes of finishing my drink, I immediately felt better! The hot, sweaty feeling went away, my nausea was stopped in its tracks and my stomach settled pretty quickly. Within an hour I was hungry again and was able to eat a light lunch with no problem. This stuff WORKS!

You all saved me last night. As I was laying in bed, clenched in fetal position - a position I've been in for a day and a half after food poisoning - I realized I couldn't take the stomach cramps any longer. I read on many sites that I needed to go to the doctor in case I have infected my intestines due to my food poisoning experience. I was so bloated that when I stood (even standing strait up was a challenge) in front of the mirror from the side, I looked pregnant, for the record, I am not. I thought I was going to have to go to emergency because the cramps were beyond tolerable. Then I found this site. Since I already had organic apple cider vinegar handy for my sinus issues that come and go, I thought why not give it a shot, what do I have to lose. About an hour after taking 2 teaspoons strait from the bottle, no water added, the cramps subsided. I was so grateful for this site at 4:00am this morning. I took a couple more teaspoons a couple hours later. What's better...! It also helped to get the bowels going. Thank you to all!! I'm starting to feel like myself again.

The Stupid:
Last night I cooked dinner for my husband and I. One of the chicken breasts was significantly thicker, and even after putting it back in the oven briefly, it seemed a bit questionable. Stupidly, as I was starving, I decided it was fiiiiine, and gave my husband the well-cooked breast.

I took one bite of mine, and the slightly rubbery texture was enough to have me spitting it back out and deciding to forgo the rest.

The Pain:
Regardless, I woke up at 3 am with sharp pains in my stomach, and an extremely active digestive system. Gurgles, rumbling, and diarrhea. Looks like one nibble was enough bacteria to get me down. (Great.)

Tried to get back to sleep, but my constantly active/upset stomach left me googling for any solutions. Most traditional medical sites said "keep hydrated, it'll resolve in 4-7 days." (Again. Great.)

The Game-Changer:
But THEN I stumbled across suggestions of Apple Cider Vinegar, which I just happened to have on hand as a podcast recommended it for a variety of uses. (Always listen to your podcasts, kids.)

I drank 2 tablespoons of ACV in a glass of cool water (surprised at how easy it was to drink, as I'm a picky person and my stomach was not well...) and felt my stomach quiet before I finished the glass. Placebo effect, I wondered? I fell into an easy sleep (finally). When I woke up in the morning, my stomach/digestive system was quiet, and I felt fairly normal.

I still have a touch of diarrhea, but the other unpleasant symptoms have definitely died down. I started this morning with another glass of water with ACV, and intend to take it today before I eat and if and when symptoms act up.

THRILLED with my new miracle cure! :D

My wife was writhing on the bathroom floor in agony with food poisoning when I got home last night - 10 pm. Huge debilitating stomach cramps, eventual vomiting, cold/hot sweats and tingling hands. Slippery elm and psyllium husks precipitated vomiting, which was cleansing, but the excruciating pain and cramping did not settle until two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar had been ingested. Second vomit was nearly dry retching, so stomach was virtually emptied. This was followed by another two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar. Now nearly midnight - she settled and slept with a full recovery by morning. Thank you apple cider vinegar and all those who led me to the remedy.

It worked! My husband came back from a dinner at a friend's house and arriving after 40 min at home started with stomach pains, then he threw up, however at first we thought it was because of the too many martinis. Anyway, in the middle of the night he got up vomiting again and also had diarrhea and stomach cramping. I thought oh oh this is looking like food poisoning, he got up couple more times vomiting and in the morning still cramping and vomiting.

I went to look for natural remedies on my favorite site Earth Clinic and found that the same remedy I am taking for my sinus was good for food poisoning.... And maybe that is why he got sick and I did not despite eating same food. the minute he wasn't throwing up I gave him 2 TBSP ACV in 1/2 cup warm water, added 1 TSP manuka honey for better tasting, he took 1/2 and then shortly after he threw up again, but even like that cramping subsided inmediately. I made him drink the other half and he kept it down and he felt so much better almost inmediately and felt asleep like a baby. Thank you earth clinic and all of you who have contributed with their experiences, thank you!!!

I ate just one Taco Bell burrito on Sunday evening and was driving home when my tummy began making noises and cramping about half hour later. I had another hour to go so I prayed and kept going (a little faster than speed limit), and kept myself occupied talking with my grandchild. I literally had to run into my home when we arrived feeling like I was going to collapse and puke or worse. Immediately I took 2 tbsp AVC in 1/2 glass water. The diarrhea-cramping and nausea lasted five days but I tool ACV with raw honey every morning and afternoon in water and now all symptoms are gone. I ate a hearty dinner last night and am good to go. I have used ACV and charcoal on a previous occasion of deliberate food poisoning by someone from my-in laws. I was given this remedy by a 93 year old American lady at that time in 1993. One must be diligent to take it like medicine and see the amazing results. I keep a gallon of ACV in my kitchen at all times. Organic ACV with Mother works best!

Thanks for the info. I think I undercooked my chicken last night. Not quite sure if the inside reached 165. Within a few hours my husband and I had sore throats and my stomach was ever so slightly irritated as well. At first I drank some diluted organic ACV, then had some liquid cal-mag-zinc, but then after reading that the acid kills the bacteria, and knowing calcium is a buffer, I downed more diluted ACV passed the moment it made me feel like gagging. The stomach ache was different now. I think I drank too much ACV, but at least it probably killed most of the bacteria to bring it to a safe level.

Yes, apple cider vinegar helps ease the stomach. At first, when I searched for food poisoning remedies on earth clinic and I read ACV as the top remedy, I thought, "no way! " How could an ACID help your stomach?! But, it does. I mixed 2 tablespoons in water, and just a few minutes later the cramping, bloating and nausea slowly disappeared. Give it a try! You have nothing to lose!

Per the recommendation of EC I tried drinking ACV at the onset of food poisoning (ate bad chicken). It worked! I was doubled over in pain for two hours before I tried 1 tablespoon of ACV in cold water. I vomited an hour later, but the pain came back. This time I downed another Tablespoon in a glass of hot water. Same deal. I vomited an hour later. Finally I drank 1/4 cup ACV straight. It was very difficult to keep down, but I managed. An hour later I vomited again and slept through the night. I woke up feeling better and didn't get sick again. I think the ACV needs to be undiluted to work. Thanks for the suggestion!

What an outstanding remedy! I was awoken from a deep sleep experiencing strong stomach pains. I suspected food poisoning from a Thanksgiving dinner, hours before.

After coming across this blog. I've tried 2-Tbls of ACV and water. After sipping it, noted the pains had started to subsided after 10-minutes. For good measure, I finished the drink.

I now feel comfortable, and ready to climb back into bed. Thank you all for contributing. The Internet is awesome!

Acv for food posioning: Wow! I am in India, ate something and within 30 minutes intense abdominal cramps. I took a 1/2 glass full of ACV straight and although I had one more bathroom attack, felt immediately better. Now its 3 hours later and I am fine...Thanks to all those that posted and encouraged me to take the plunge.

I am pretty sure that I was on the verge of food poisoning last night. The moment that I started feeling bad I started taking ACV and Honey. I always get an Elevated Heart Rate when I get a fever and/or virus. This is my experience after eating supper:

Sick: 4-9-11

Right after supper my stomach got bloated and hard and started cramping (pretty intense). Quickly, I took some ACV and honey. It helped with the bloatness and cramping. Not 100%, but better. Started getting chills and fever 99.2

11:40 pm. Fever 100.4 fixing to take more ACV heart rate up.

12:00am tried to have a bm but couldn't. Heart rate shot up and I had to lay down immediately.

12:45am fever 100.7 and elevated heart rate. Going to try to take some vinegar and honey. (got it done)!

Hr: 1:00am=102

1:30am fever=99.9 Hr still up. Worse when I have to get up.

Keep urinating and still bloated but not bad cramping as earlier. (drinking water only)

2:07 am. Feeling better except for my pounding elevated hr. And some pressure still in abdomen. I'm tired and sleepy, but this heart rate is keeping me up. Think I'll try some Gatorade now. Hr=95

2:30 am temp. =99.0 hr=93

Drank more Gatorade and water

5:30 am. Hr=75 temp=97.8 Woke up sweating and needed to go urinate. Tummy still somewhat bloated and uncomfortable, esp, when using muscles in that area.

10:00am hr=69 temp=97.9 feeling pretty darn good!!

Just a little tummy pressure and sleepiness.

Thanks ACV and Earthclinic! I know that it kept me from getting soooo sick!
