I'd been looking for natural cures to major PMS for years.
Many, many, trips to doctors throughout the years for "cures" involving pills that made other things worse. Nothing worked!!!!
The pain, bloating, fibroids, etc... were so bad I've come close to losing my job becuase of monthly "crazies".
I cam across this site, started the ACV, 2 tablespoons each morning, and 1 tablespoon of the black strap molasses (because growing up my Grandmother always said it will cure what ails you) and with my very next period - WOW!!!!!
No crazies, no cramps, no constant munchies, no bloating, no pain, no hormone headaches, no heavy bleeding, no crying jags, no depression, my skin is better, and I sleep better, just smooth sailing. I finally feel human again!!!!!
I can't thank all of you enough!!!!

Turmeric

Turmeric reduced my PMS symptoms substantially. I was born and raised in Central Java, Indonesia. In addition to the fact that turmeric has been used in cooking for many centuries, it is one of the common home-made herbal remedies for menstrual cramps.
This is the version that I used effectively on myself while living in Western countries where fresh turmeric root was not available:
1.Boil 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder in 1 to 2 cups of water.
2.Add lemon/lime juice.
3.Add honey (or sugar) to taste.
4. Drink this once a day.
Whenever I remembered to take this about 5 days before my menses, I had absolutely no discomfort whatsoever. And ... as a bonus, my complexion that turned itchy, bumpy and/or pimply before and during menstruation usually stayed smooth.
Now come to think of it, even though I am now post-menopausal, I probably will still benefit from this concoction. Thank you to all of those who write how turmeric root/powder cures other ailments such as colds.
Flax Seed Oil

I have been taking flax seed oil for my skin. However, one additional benefit I have noticed is that flax oil is very helpful during those hormonal fluctuations in my cycle (ie., PMS!). I take more or less depending on how I feel. I take up to 3 tablespoons as day starting a week before I get my period. It takes about an hour, but has an immediate calming effect. I would say the effect lasts about 8 hours before I need to take more. I have also noticed that on day 5 of my period, something shifts in my brain chemistry again (ie., emotional, easily triggered) and I up my flax seed oil dosage again. I am going to keep experimenting with the dosages and will let you all know. I am guessing this could be one of the best remedies to get through perimenopause and menopause. Any else had the same results as me?

A few days before my period, I often find myself getting extremely anxious and paranoid. The same thing happens on day 5 of my period. Not sure what is happening to my hormones, but I don't like it! I have discovered that a 200 mg of Sam-e will immediately stop the anxiety and paranoia. I still feel quite emotional up until the day I get my period, but it is way reduced with sam-e. Great supplement. I don't take it every day, just when necessary.

This is the first time I've tried this for my monthly migraine, which I have had for several years. Nothing I tried seem to prevent this from happening, I could only medicate after it started. This is the first time I haven't had one after using the Molasses. I took a couple of spoonfuls in the morning and took it to work and used a couple of times during the day. I use an organic unsulphered brand. So glad I have found this, no more migraine this month. I really can't believe this, still waiting to see if one comes on.

I was diagnosed with uterine fibroid cysts in Feb. of this year. I decided to take an active role in my health and see what I could do to shrink them(or get rid of them entirely) naturally. My doctor didn't want to do anything about them because I'm 48(he's hoping since I'm so close to menopause they will take care of themselves)and other than some heavy bleeding a day or two of my cycle(which were 9-16 days by the way) I wasn't having any problems, so he just wanted to "watch" them. Watch them do what? Grow? What if I'm NOT close to menopause and I'm one of those women that has a cycle until I'm 55?(It does happen). No thanks!!! I came across this website and decided to try Blackstrap Molasses. It has been a miracle! I have only been taking it for two weeks(one Tablespoon each morning) and my oh my what a change! I had noooo PMS(even my sister noticed I wasn't as grouchy), very little cramping, no bloating, normal bleeding, and noooo clotting! A happy side effect(if you can call it a"side effect")is that my skin is as soft as a baby's bottom. I can't wait until I go back to my doctor next year and he finds NO fibroids! Oh, and I'm not sure, but the few gray hairs popping in around my temple area appears to have slowed.I will take BSM for the rest of my life! I will get back to you after my exam next year!!!!
Oil Pulling

Please post this where asthma sufferers can view it, this is important because I had a hard time finding a cure for asthma on your site but thank God I did. I began a regimen of
oil pulling shortly after a lingering cold went to my lungs, I just couldn't get rid of the mucus. I prayed for relief. It got even worse after a chemical pesticide was sprayed in my home for pest control. The next day after the extermination I had the worst attack of my life, I couldn't stand it anymore, so after 10 years of not having to put any poison into my lungs I had to once again use an inhaler to control the attacks. After the second night of waking up feeling side effects of nervousness anxiety and panic I decided enough was enough. I went to the computer in the middle of the night and began hours of research to find a natural cure. That's how I found this miracle of a web site. The next day I went out a purchased some sesame oil and took one table spoon 3x a day at the onset of my asthma attack and Immediately after the very first dose the mucus expelled out of my longs, and within 10 minutes what had plagued me for over 10 years was no more. Since then If I have any tightening in my chest or shortness of breath I IMMEDIATELY do the oil pulling and the problem subsides in 10 minutes or less. ~~~Oh I'd be remiss if I did not mention the side effect, I took oil pulling for Bronchial Asthma but as a result I got a dazzling white smile, sinus relief, not to mention
it remarkably helped to subside my symptoms PMS all unexpected but welcomed side effects. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! P.S. thanks my husband thanks you too, lol.

I've been oil pulling for a little over two months now. Here are some of the things that OP has helped me with:
1. PMS - my cramps are almost completely gone now! I used to live on ibuprofen but I didn't even take it this time.
2. Bloating - non-existant
3. Gas - nearly gone!
4. Extremely tired in the mornings - gone.
Oil pulling is one of the most amazing things. I wish everyone could learn about it!

I eat about 1 cup of raw Savoy Cabbage a day with a meal. It relieved my roller coaster episodes of diarrhea in one day...and constipation for the next week. Also it helped with PMS. I can think more clearly, I have a higher energy level, my mood is improved, and I feel really healthy.

I've had the worst time with cramps since I began my cycle at age 12. A couple years ago, I discovered, accidentally, that cranberry powder pills do everything drugs do and more, without side affects. The instant I feel a small bit of cramping, I take two cranberry pills. I wait twenty minutes, take two more. I wait another twenty minutes and take another two. That's it. No more pain, no bloating, no headache, no PMS.

I love L-Theanine for PMS. I start to take it as soon as I find myself becoming irritable. I find I also need a capsule or two on the third day of my period... my brain chemistry must be altering during this time. I feel very needy. Anyone else notice that too?

I had very bad PMS cramps right before and the first couple of days of menstruation. i read somewhere that flax seed oil was good for the overall health of women and the reproductive system so i started taking it daily, a tablespoon or so with yogurt or kefir, and the cramps dramatically decreased the month later. i was always able to tell right about when i start because of the cramps, but the following month i didn't know at all and it just came without warning. i took it for a few a months religiously, but it's been about two months since taking it regularly. the cramping hasn't come back, but i will start taking it again for my overall health. highly recommend it for PMS!
