Apple Cider Vinegar

Hello I am suffering from perioral dermatitis. I have had it for about 10 weeks. Have been to my gp and he gave me rozex which I used for 2 weeks which worked but then came to a standstill. I then read up and found this site and have been using apple cider vinegar for a week which does seem to be working but it is still very red And sore and seems to have spread around my eyes? It's really starting to get me down and I feel very self conscious. I have cancelled a lot of social plans as I'm terribly embarrassed. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do or if I'm just been impatient. Thanks Lizzy

Hi, I am having dermatitis on my face.im not so sure how similar is it with Perioral Dermatitis. I have started my Apple Cider Vinegar treatment 2 days ago. It seriously stung my face and I feel a burning sensation. Whenever I applied acv, some tiny white spot (not sure is it the infection or skin) popped up. Do you have similar experience? Now is my day 3 applying it, my skin still rash & itch feeling that burning sensation. Im not sure - is it getting worse or its normal. I seriously don't wish to go back on steroid cream and trying to be determined to continue with acv. Will you be able to share a little bit more on the effects after applying acv? How can I start notice that the dermatitis is curing using acv? And how long does it start taking effects? Hope to have your reply soon though. Many thanks in advance.

I am almost 22 weeks pregnant and never had skin problems until my pregnancy. About a week ago, I began noticing a dry patch around one corner of my mouth. I continued moisturizing every night before bed but I noticed it was getting a little more red and bumpy. I found out it was Perioral Dermatitis and decided to use ACV with a cotton ball about 3 days ago along with discontinue use of my face wash. The first night, it worked real well, the redness went away, but fearing my moisturizer was going to make it worse, I didn't use anything after that or rinse my face. When I woke up the next morning, the spot was extra dry and more red and another spot started in the corner of my mouth on the other side. I used ACV again before going to work and that night, my patch had peeled off revealing a fresh red smooth patch of skin underneath.
Ignorantly, I added ACV again and followed up with coconut oil. This morning I woke up and my patches on both sides of my mouth had grown in size and an ugly brownish red, still dry and now very tender. I began applying ACV again and at first the redness began to disappear but then my skin began to bleed! I rinsed with water and immediately applied coconut oil but now it looks much worse and hurts so bad! I can't eat or smile without feeling the discomfort and pain. I learned I may have overused the ACV and now instead of using topically, I am just drinking the ACV water. (2TBS in 16 oz water)
I am still using coconut oil but I am wondering how long this is going to take? (I have to wait another week before my new toothpaste, mouthwash, face soap and aloe vera gel arrive in mail) I can only apply the coconut oil in the morning before work and at night before I go to bed. I have to wear all natural tinted spf moisturizer to try to cover up the redness while at work. (My appearance matters to my company unfortunately and cannot show up to work looking like I have a flesh eating disease) I am worried I made a bad situation worse and now fear bad scarring. Can I use my palmers stretch mark massage cream in addition to my coconut oil to speed things up or should I just stick with only coconut oil until my PD products come in?
Please Help!

I am at my wits end.
This started 1 year ago when 2 little red bumps showed up in my face. I went to the dermatologist and I was prescribed Desonide for 3 weeks, and I was told to change my moisturizer. To repeat if it did come back. I did that, it went away but kept coming back. NOT knowing I was putting steroids on my face I kept reapplying the Desonide as instructed.... Maybe for about 3 or 4 times total. Well, I finally googled what I had and realized it is Perioral Dermatitis and the desonide IS THE CULPRIT and not the help. So I stop it 1 week ago, and.... It is been down hill since then.. OMG I am miserable. I was able to hide it with natural makeup or nothing the first few days, now my face is a big giant red mess. One side under my mouth and a bit around my nostrils. The ACV seems like it is irratiting it more. I did buy the one Organic with the Mother. I do put the yogurt mask. I do drink a cup with 1 little lid of vinegar with water. And I have been taking oral antibiotics now for 4 days with no improvement....
This morning I woke up with tons of white little bumps, so the pustules have pus now... Beautiful sight in my face... PLEASE HELP! What am I missing? Why is it soooo red? It looks like a wound not just red little bumps. Did I make it worse by putting the vinegar? Looks like it. Please help!

I have been using ACV on my face for perioral dermitis for a week (morning and night on a swab). It stings like crazy on the open skin but I am determined to stick with it. I then open a vitamin E capsule and apply the oil. Just the last couple days ago the ACV made my skin very hot and bright red all over. My reaction to it is getting stronger - now it stays hot and red for a while before it calms down. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this? I am just wondering if I should stick it out and hope it's just what happens to some people or if I should try something else...

I have been dealing with an outbreak of PD for about 3 months now. I was prescribed metro gel for what my Dr. originally thought was rosacea. All it did was make my rash worse and cause many red bumps. I now have some red bumps on my upper lip, and in a ring around my mouth with my entire chin is covered in it. :( It is not super red, but still noticable and flaky at times. Not itchy or painful though. I stopped using the metro gel and went back to my Dr. She then prescribed clyndamicin. I used it for awhile and didn't really see any results. If anything it was getting worse. Now, after reading this website, I am trying apple cider vinegar. I started using it 2 days ago and so far don't feel like it's helping. I have new red bumps and overall the whole area is just redder than before. I am hoping this means it will just be worse and then get better. Has anyone else experienced a worsening of symptoms and how long did it take in general for you to see positive results. I have not taken it orally yet, but I am considering it. I am not using the organic kind, although I can see from the site it is recommended. I will likely buy some in hopes that it will help more than the regular stuff. The amount of time I spend looking at my face and feeling horrible about it is just getting to be too much. Ugh!! I hope to hear back from you and also really hope these remedies are working for you. Hang in there!
