cranberry juice, peeing after sex and gatorade helped my reoccuring bladder infections. I drink 100% cranberry juice as soon as I feel one coming on and I also drink gatorade to help replenish my body during the infection. To prevent a bladder infection, I always pee before and after sex. Also, stay away from sugar during the infection.

Hi, I have had a recurring Urinary Tract infection so far 3 times in the past 6 months, to which my Dr has prescribed antibiotics. I felt it coming on and as my Dr was out of town was unable to get my prescription refilled for antibiotics. As I was in a great deal of pain (for 3 days and popping AZO tabs like mints) I was searching the internet for a natural remedy and came across this website. I did the vinegar and baking soda remedy and within a few hours the pain was completely gone and has not returned. I didn't have ACV on hand so I did it with just plain white vinegar (2T), baking soda (1t) and water and added a few drops of cayenne pepper. I am so happy!!! Yesterday I was coming home from a trip a feeling myself coming down with Flu Sx (achy, sore throat, and weak). I took some Advil to get thru the long car trip home. When I got home I was exhausted and went right to bed. When I woke up I felt horrible as I could barely swallow, my ears, and face (sinuses) hurt, as well as achy joints all over. I was eager to try the ACV and baking soda (added cayenne and echinacea drops too) cure and took the first drink at about 3 am. It is now 2pm the next day I have taken about 5 glassfuls and I feel 100% better. I still have very mild tired feeling but all other sx are completely gone. Its amazing

In the past couple years I have suffered through lots of uti infections. I was going back and fourth to the gyno and everytime the gyno gave me antibotics which would work but then my uti returns with in weeks to months again. The doctors couldnt figure out why I kept getting them. I decided on my own to remedy. I take cranberry pills everyday. Also everytime after I have intercouse I pee and make sure I clean myself and luckily I have not had a UTI in almost six months I am so happy. I think antibotics do not solve the problem I think they make the antibotics make them worse. I belive in natural healing not drugs!

I have had bladder infections ever since I started to have a sex life. I studied a lot of resources on the net and have tried lots of things, and I want to share what works for me best. Ever since I learned that part of the reasons for getting a bladder infection after sex is that some natural bacteria from the anus are transported into the bladder area during sex, then they just get into the bladder really easily. There are 2 things that I always combine and never get a bladder infection. First I urinate within 15 minutes, and then I wash the genitalia very well in the shower to prevent those bacteria from spreading. By doing those things I feel confident that I took care of the prevention of the infection. It works 100% for me. And I am the person who used to get them every week or so.

I did my research and THEE BEST home remedy for a bladder infection is... 1) Drink LOTS of water! Just keep taking water down! It will help flush out the bacteria that causes the inflammations! 2) Take vitamin C 3) Have a warm bath! It helps relieve the burning. I have had this bladder infection for about 2 days and now that i am drinking a HUGE amount of water the burning is going away... and i have to go to the bathroom a lot which is a great thing because it gives me the chance to drain all of the bacteria.

For those of you exeriencing UTI's after intercourse consider that the contreceptive you use may possibly be causing it... I would always get a UTI after using a latex condom, regardless of peeing and washing afterwards... once I switched to the non-latex ones, I've never had another problem.
Vitamin C

I had a pretty bad bladder infection that I discovered on a Friday. Had heard that vitamin C could knock one out... makes a lot of sense because increasing acidity of the urine seems to reduce bacterial load. (as craberry juice is supposed to do). Anyway, I took 1000 mgs two or three times for the next several days. almost over night I got relief.. I kept doing it for several days to make sure.

I had a really bad bladder infection. While waiting for the date of the Dr. appointment I began to drink 2-3 8oz of 100% Cranberry Juice twice a day and within 3 days, the frequent urination had stopped completely.

When I have problems 'down there' as I call it, I always break out the 100% juice cranberry juice. If you're really brave you can try 100% cranberry juice straight, my sister said it cleared it right up, but tasted awful.
Dandelion Tea and Oregano Oil

I tried almost everything, conventional and alternative. Finally found my cure-dandellion tea and Oil of Oregano at first sign of infection and as a preventative I take acidophillus supplements try to keep the bacteria balanced. If I stick to these three products I can keep my bladder under control. Basically cures my bladder infections and the infections are occuring less often as times goes by. I hope this helps someone else because I was very discouraged when I finally found this "cure", I had spent a lot of money and time trying to find relief. When I went into my health store and said I think I have tried everything here, do you have any suggestions, they offered me the oil of oregano and said they had never heard any bad results. Great stuff!!

I have been through a lifelong battle with urinary tract infections. It's been a vicious cycle of antibiotics then yeast infections and once had laser surgery of my urethrea to open up passage. Cranberry helped, but never cured the problem. Finally my sister found the answer. It's called d-mannose. It is a type of sugar that bonds to the type of bacteria that causes the infection. It works only on infections caused by the bacteria that naturally live in our digestive system and escape into urinary tract. However these make up 90% of urinary infections. for me it's been a miracle. One dose can be taken as a preventative after intercourse. or a few doses a day in case of a full infection. great for pregnant women who don't want antibiotics. I went from having at least 6 infections a year to being antibiotic free for the past 3 years. Couldn't be happier.

I started getting UTI's frequently after sex with the hubs and did not want to continue taking the dreaded antibiotic poisons. So I searched for some answers here and tried them all! ACV, helped but not a lot. Oregano oil better but not great, did help with the pain. D-mannose, somewhat- maybe more for overall bladder health support. And many other things...all lessened the pain but even after a week or so of one or all of the above, it wasn't 'cured'. After going down the rabbit hole of CDS, I discovered that taking 3 drops of it in water every hour diminished the pain greatly! And after 8 days of 3 drops every hour for 8 hours (not at night) and increasing the drops depending if feeling Herxeimey of not - got up to 6 drops - the UTI was gone!! Hadn't had one in months!! Praise!! Then - got one. Dang it!! But right away I started taking the 3 drops every hour, after several hours I took 4 then 5. I'm on day 2 of taking the drops and the pain is pretty much gone!! This will be my go to for a UTI from now on. The meds given out like candy for the white coat peddlers are not for me anymore!! For more info on CDS - Dr. Kalcker is a great source! I hope this helps you! Xo

Urgent request re UTI, does Refined coconut oil help for a UTI?
Virgin coconut oil is helping with UTI, I quickly noticed the difference. At first it tasted good, but after 8 days of virgin coconut oil flavor, it now tastes unbearable to me. According to nutiva.com website both refined and virgin coconut oil have the same nutritional profile with 63% medium chain triglycerides, including 50% lauric acid. I've had refined coconut oil and it has almost no flavor, but will it help for a UTI? Some people on this website have posted information about refined coconut oil not being helpful for health conditions.
Thank you, Denise

Gary, thank you for your reply. Can you please clarify for me. One cup of what? coffee? Himalayan sea salt in water? Glad that it works like a charm for you! Do you personally just need 2 doses. (I ask because salt can make my urine overly alkaline, so I have to watch it. I can try to counteract the over alkalinity by eating some bread later on)

Thank you M to M. I will check out more about the sea salt and baking soda remedies. D-mannose only slightly helpful for me. Please let us know about methylene blue. I considered trying it.

I have a great trick for chronic UTIs! At least it worked for me: eating the equivalent of a dice of raw ginger every day. I discovered it by accident,I has a constant subtle pain like the beggining of a UTI for almost a year! It was so annoying. Nothing came up in my blood and urine analysis, it was so frustrating. Sometimes I was having a crisis, got antibiotics, the acute pain was gone, but that annoying little pain was remaining, like a little pinching. And then I had a cold and a friend recommended raw ginger (add milk, or yoghurt, or some food, it's very acidic!). Well my flu didn't stop, but within 2-3 days my UTI symptoms totally disappeared. I continued taking it for about one week or two. And it has been gone.it's now been about 2 years.
When I feel the slightest beginning of pain(it really almost never happens) I just eat some ginger, smaller quantity now. I hope this helps someone too.
Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda

I am a little confused. I have read that apple cider vinegar though acidic when you drink it the body turns it to alkaline. To cure a uti you want urine to be on the acidic side do you not so doesn't it make sense to not drink apple cider vinegar as it keeps urine alkaline. I'm hoping someone can explain it to me. Thanks
