Cream of Tartar, Essential Oils

I found using cream of tartar and internal ingestion of essential oils finally cured a nasty antibiotic resistant UTI.

The oils I used were mostly Juniper, and less of Eucalyptus, Lavendar and Siberian Pine.

The UTI calmed down within a day!

Lemon, Baking Soda and ACV Tonic

UTI infection, March 2023...Well this may be anecdotal evidence from a 70-year-old male but I had a UTI infection, which caused a lot of standing-on-your-tip-toes pain during voiding, and many nightly trips to the bathroom with little to show for it, but the urge was there, I ended up light headed with foggy brain function and with what can only be described as kicked in the balls swollen testicles, I went t to outpatients, they put me on intravenous anti-biotics I did this for 3 days, went home with an anti-biotic prescription for another 10 days, what seemed to be working stopped as soon as the meds were gone, then back to the hospital for another round of antibiotic intravenously, and still, it came back.

Then I thought I remembered from earth-clinic there was a treatment for an acidic body, I tried it again... I used1 decent-sized squeezed lime/lemon juice, 3/4 tsp of baking soda added in small increments (the fizzing never stops), and 1 tablespoon of ACV, mixed in distilled water, within 4 days the results were amazing this may be as I say anecdotal but if it walks like a duck, sounds like a duck, empirical data is much more than what scientist like to claim as not pure science, this worked for me and it worked damn well just throwing this out there...

Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda

Last week I went to the Doctor as I was sure I had a UTI. Every time I went to the toilet, I couldn't pass much urine and it would be all over body pain and tingling. He gave me a form to have a Urine Test done but didn't get to go as open hours were conflicting. So each day, I would get half a glass of water and pour in some ACV and Lemon Juice, then add some BiCarb Soda. By the 3rd day I was urinating normally and no pain or tingling.

I just want to Thankyou people for putting your remedies on here. I'm a paraplegic that's struggled with recurring UTIs for over 5 years. Antibiotics over and over. As soon as I finished a course maybe two Days another would develop.

I can tell you it's not nice having constant temperature flushing, fatigue and generally feeling horrible. Every task feels like a mountain climb.
Unable to function and really affects social life. I've missed many family gatherings or just catching up with friends.
I found this page looking for something that may help relieve my problems.
I have since been following one of the lady's remedies of ACV and bicarb soda.

I have a shot in the morning, lunch and before bed.
I have gone two weeks so far without a UTI which I haven't done for 5 years !!
Thank-you everybody, fingers crossed and I hope this helps many in similar situation to me as it's a real problem with Spinal cord injuries.

I just tried Cream of Tartar yesterday and felt much more comfortable after a couple of hours. Today I'm at a lower grade of discomfort and taking it again. No question it worked yesterday and pretty fast. I have been doing the Apple Cider Vinegar, baking soda etc, and this is much better. I'll see what it does today. Thanks for sharing!

I just wanted to add in regard to BV, I had it a couple of years ago and it was recurrent no matter what my Dr. gave me. Finally, I ask a friend of mines who is well versed with natural cures what I should do and she simply said, "2tbsp of natural aloe vera to 8oz of unsweetened cranberry juice. Not only does it get rid of the BV, I have also found that it works well with balder infections. Pray this helps someone as it did me.

Corn Silk

I have used corn silk extract for UTIs with great success. I found that cranberry works specifically on a particular bacteria associated with UTIs, but if it doesn't work for you, what to do?

This is the one I used: https://www.herb-pharm.com/products/corn-silk

I found immediate relief from pain/itching - by the end of the day, that symptom was gone.

The dosing is easy - 1 dropperful in a water dilution / dose (there are instructions on the label for dosing)

You may find this option works faster & costs less than all the cranberry remedies.

Beckie, you're absolutely correct, Garden of Life's Dr. Formulated Probiotics Urinary Tract+ is the product that I believe she was talking about! I was getting bladder infections every 3-4 weeks even though I was taking other well-known high-quality probiotic formulas with numerous strains and a high, 50 billion counts. When I found the Garden of Life, the first bottle I took literally kept the infection away for 4 months!! It IS expensive, but as the old saying goes " you get what you pay for! "

Garlic
Posted by Lil (Europe) on 11/01/2022

Hi, can anyone comment on my experience please?

I'm obviously run-down....don't sleep well at all, over-weight and trying to lose it all the time plus the fact it's been a full-on summer and I'm dealing with a traumatic family event.....so I ended up with a bout of cystitis recently, which I've only experienced maybe 3 times in my almost 60 years.

It's lasted 2 weeks and I've been using cranberry juice and bicarb, then I decide I'd go the garlic route, rather than go for antibiotics.

To which end, I sliced up a very large, strong, fresh clove of garlic and macerated it overnight in a pint of water and then drank the whole lot in the morning except for a few bits of the clove which I chewed. As well as this, I made a strong garlic butter and left that overnight as well, before eating it on crackers the next day (and finger-dipping cos I love it so much! ).....

3 days later and I have a large mainly painless lump on my lower gum but no pain in my teeth, and a small painful (when I press it) on the back of my head on the diagonally opposite side to the gum problem.

What I am wondering is, if the garlic is routing any infection and pushing it out of my body by any means? As I sit here typing I'm sucking on a clove of garlic, having found the brilliant post all about infection in the mouth and garlic!

Thanks so much to everyone who has contributed to this interesting and invaluable site.

Your post is a few years old, but here are a few suggestions for current sufferers. I was also prone to UTIs after intimacy. My naturopath recommended eliminating immediately after, showering, D-Mannose and blow drying (yes, a little odd but dryness is important). My mom's friend always dried corn silk and made it into tea which resolved hers. When we renovated our home, my husband surpised me with a bidet. They're not very expensive at the big box hardware stores. I love it. It's not what Europeans use, which are the best, but it's better than having to take a shower. If you don't have electrical for a bidet to work, a handheld shower is second best.

Garlic, ACV, Cranberry Capsules
Posted by Wendy (Dublin, OH) on 08/12/2022

I've also been plagued with UTI symptoms over the very many years, and can now literally recognize them a mile away! My urologist recommended D-Mannose as a preventative as it prevents the bacteria from building up on the wall of the bladder. Well, I've been using it regularly for the past 3 months, and have had no UTI symptoms for awhile. Of course, staying off sugar and "bad" carbs definitely helps!

Garlic, ACV, Cranberry Capsules

FOR UTI EMERGENCIES WHEN AWAY FROM HOME:

After ingesting sugar the evening before (peanut butter chocolate pieces) and eating fruit (blueberries) for breakfast, yesterday afternoon, I felt the nagging early symptoms of a UTI coming on while I was in my car. I was tempted to go to a walk-in clinic to get Macrobid, but I didn't have time and wanted to see if I could treat myself without taking it.

Thankfully, I had previously stashed a bottle of apple cider vinegar capsules in the car. I immediately took 2 capsules with water (preferably take them with a bit of soup, salad, or a green veggie smoothie to avoid stomach ache). I then drove to the grocery store and bought garlic capsules, a bottle of pure unsweetened cranberry juice, and a green cabbage. Within half an hour, I started taking those, too (not the cabbage), alternating 2 capsules every half hour while drinking a bit of juice in between.

As I had meetings and couldn't return home despite my discomfort, I kept running to the washroom between plying 2 garlic or ACV capsules and a 1/4 cup of juice every half hour or so. After about 1 to 2 hours, I then slowed down and alternated the 2 capsules at an hourly rate or longer with lots of water and a bit of food. After 2-3 hours, the slightly painful UTI symptoms and constant urge to run to the washroom subsided.

Today, I woke up with no strong symptoms but continued with the same plus I ate a tablespoon of raw cabbage salad for breakfast (no added sugar - cabbage is a known anti-parasite that helps, too). All good.

I think the trick is to treat the niggling symptoms EARLY and not delay taking the supplements. (*If you can't get to a grocery store and can't keep fresh cranberry juice at work or in the car, keep cranberry capsules on hand instead).

***SUMMATION:

KEEP THESE GROCERY SUPPLIES PERMANENTLY IN YOUR PURSE OR CAR:

Garlic, ACV, AND Cranberry capsules (or preferably, bottled unsweetened cranberry juice if you are close to a store that sells it)

bottled water

a non-sweet snack (even starchy/high carb potato chips or popcorn will suffice if you can't access fresh food)

Let me know if it works for you.

Multiple Remedies
Posted by Nan (Canada) on 07/09/2022

A few other points:

- People who suffer from UTIs frequently might want to carry oregano and goldenseal tinctures (or pills, if available) with them, ready to take with water at the first sign of discomfort.

- Take very hot baths with 1/4 cup baking soda and 1/4 cup ACV (organic, if possible) whenever needed, every hour if necessary - it does help a bit.

- When the infection is healed (or during an episode), a visit to a homeopath/naturopath might be in order. Many people with UTIs are helped by taking Cantharsis or Apis Mellifica, or other homeopathic remedies. Just know that each remedy is specific to the exact kind of discomfort or pain the individual experiences, so it's best to check with a professional.

- With severe chills or fevers or pains, visit urgent care or your doctor immediately.

- My number one tip is that you start on this or some protocol the MINUTE you feel a twinge. The earlier you stop the infection from growing by the hour, the better. Do not go to bed tired, thinking, "I will treat it in the morning." It will be too late by then.

Colloidal Silver, Oregano Oil
Posted by Art (California ) on 06/04/2022 2326 posts

Dena L. ,

I am curious as to what dose of colloidal silver you used ?

The Oxysilver bottle does not clearly say what strength their silver is. They show that their bottle contains 8 ounces and it says a serving size is one teaspoon and then it says that there are 48 servings in the bottle and each serving is 5ml.

https://www.amazon.com/OXYSILVER-IMMUNE-SUPPORT-HYDROSOL-CONCENTRATE/dp/B009PG1FBI/ref=sr_1_5?crid=QYNLJPQ9RL1B&keywords=oxysilver&qid=1654399344&sprefix=oxysilver,aps,217&sr=8-5

The only indication of what strength their silver is in this sentence on the bottle :

* Daily value not established 3ppm

If this 3ppm is the actual strength of the silver in the bottle, it is very very low. They charge $39.95 for this 8 ounce bottle making it very expensive considering how little silver is actually in the bottle. By comparison, MesoSilver sells an 8.45 ounce bottle of their 20 ppm colloidal silver for $32.97 and their bottle contains over 6 times the silver in it as Oxysilver.

For another comparison, EC sells an 8 ounce bottle of colloidal silver for $29.95 that is 20 ppm of silver. This also has over 6 times the silver in it or to say that a little differently it is roughly equivalent to more than 6 bottles of Oxysilver if you were to dilute it with distilled water to equal 3 ppm.

Not all colloidal silvers are the same and some are very expensive for the amount of actual silver in their product.

When I was together with my daughter's father I would get frequent urinary tract infections, especially after sex. I read here about the apple cider vinegar and baking soda remedy. So I tried it and it worked every time I needed it! I mixed 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar (though I found just regular white vinegar to work, as well) and just 1/4 tsp baking soda in a tall glass of water and would drink it as I felt comfortable, sometimes just sipping throughout the day or other times drinking a lot at once if I was thirsty. It's actually not an unpleasant drink in those proportions! It would always get rid of the urgency to pee within like, 30 minutes. Thank you so much!

Apple Cider Vinegar, Coconut Oil

Having had UTI's periodically, all of my adult life since having children, I was quick to dose myself some ACV and cranberry juice as soon as I felt the symptoms last week. This method usually clears my symptoms up within 24 hours but this last bout was more tenacious, so I came online to look for a more invasive natural approach. My main symptom was continued pain on urination so I scooped up a portion of organic coconut oil, knowing it's antibacterial, antifungal, antimicrobial properties. Utilizing it as a suppository, the symptoms were immediately alleviated and together with my ACV, cranberry with a pinch of baking soda cocktail regimen, I was right as rain within 24 hours. The real task is trying to remember to include ACV in my diet several times a week to prevent the onset of another infection.

Alkaline Diet
Posted by Art (California) on 12/16/2021 2326 posts

ALEXSANDRA,

In my experience it varies depending on the bacteria that is causing the UTI. I have a friend who gets UTI's regularly and baking soda (BS) worked fine for years to stop her UTI's quickly for years, but then she got a UTI that was unfazed by BS and had to use a different remedy to stop that UTI. Her doctor told her that if BS works, to keep on using it as long as it does, but he also said that it shouldn't work and he was confused as to why it was working.

Alkaline Diet

I'm at a loss. is alkalization of urine good against UTI as this post from 2008 says, or bad as e.g. they say in this article:

https://www.womenshealthspecialists.org/health-information/bladder-infections/

They say that bacteria grow better when the urine is less acidic.

Thanks to all who posted about Coconut Milk for UTI.

I've used D-Mannose for years, plus Oregano oil capsules, with some success. For me, this is the most effective, least expensive, and the easiest option I've ever tried...I drank one can of regular Coconut Milk from the grocery store. I shook the can, poured it over ice, and added a few drops of liquid stevia for taste (stevia is optional - no worries if you don't have this).

UTI symptoms were gone in no time - I did catch this early, so it wasn't too severe. I was fine overnight, which is usually the worst time for me. I drank about 1/3 can today just to be sure and may continue this for a few days just to be sure it doesn't come back.

As an extra measure, even though my symptoms were already gone, I drank a liter of alkaline water last night and another liter today - bought from the grocery store.

Thyme Essential Oil
Posted by Lauren (NY) on 07/15/2021
★★★★☆

For a UTI, I usually take olive leaf and turmeric caps as per my post under those headings. When I find that my UTI is being a little extra stubborn I draw a shallow bath, but a little olive oil on a washcloth along with some thyme essential oil, with maybe a little tea tree. I feel that the thyme is the most potent. It is important to dilute these with the olive oil. I then press this around the area gently and push out the bacteria into the bath. This really helps to tame the infection or get rid of the remainder of it.

Lemon

Thanks to God for allowing me to find this site and the posts about lemons and UTI.

Today, in June 2021, I had tested negative on 2 different stick tests for UTI at 2 different doctor's offices. Shortly after my last visit, my bladder went into full 'attack' and was in relentless burning pain. I was desperate and took an AZO max strength. It gave some relief, but definitely not enough as I ended up in so much pain that I strongly contemplating going to the ER. I was searching the Internet for help. I saw this site had posts about lemons and uti. I read the reviews that said how they were in pain, or had bladder infections, or similar and that they used lemons and water, cold or hot, and thought I'd try it, too, since they said they felt virtually immediate relief. I prayed about it and told God that I would write a post if it helped me, too, so that hopefully my post could help someone, too!

So far, so good. I had Lakewood, organic lemon juice concentrate - no sugar, no extra anything - good stuff, nothing but pure lemon juice (I didn't have any actual lemons, but it's the same.) I took about 3 tablespoons of the liquid with about 10 ounces of water. I've made sure to go eliminate often and not hold it while doing this. It's been about 2 hours. I'm not 100% yet, but I'm definitely not feeling like my bladder is on fire any longer. I'm going to continue sipping/drinking it for the next few hours. I definitely recommend trying this!! I'll be in prayer that Jesus continues to heal me. I'll pray for others who read this and try it, too! May the God of enduring mercy bless you.

"Seem to be well" is no confirmation or consolation. Ppl need UTI test strips to confirm an infection, or not, or a trip to the doctor. You need to continue a protocol after you 'seem' well to ensure full measures have been taken to eliminate all the infection entirely, not partially to feel better. The UTI test strips are very affordable. Also eliminate all sugars as they feed the infection.

Cranberry
Posted by Elle (Canada) on 04/28/2021 59 posts

Definitely NO sugar/fructose/etc with a UTI. Just a small amount of sugar (as little as 1 tsp and there's a lot more than that in sweetened juices) can suppress our immune system, putting our white blood cells into a temporary coma. And your white blood cells are the immune cells which fight infections.

Alternately, you could dilute it (2:1 ratio, 2 part cran juice to 1 part water) and/or add some Stevia as a natural sugar-free sweetener.
