I purchased Nature's Pure Alpha Lipoic Acid, a combination of R-ALA and S-ALA. I learned too late that S-ALA is synthetic and can diminish the benefits of R-ALA. I decided to take it anyway to see what would happen. I began a few days ago (October 4 2023). It is three days later and I am astonished that from day one my Candida rash began to disappear. It is now completely gone. I take one 300mg capsule in the morning 30 minutes before eating or drinking. Needless to say, I will continue this supplement.
I should say that I don't eat sugar or any sweeteners of any kind, artificial or natural. I also don't eat fruit or any grains except a bowl of Grape Nuts at night. My diet is bean-based: canned beans, a little animal protein, vegetables, and some oil. What I have learned is that it is not the FOOD that you are eating per se, but how that food contributes to candida overgrowth. So you might be able to have a slice of bread one day and be ok, but at another time it will cause a flare. I am still in the figuring-it-all-out place, but I think that if I limit those foods (not necessarily eliminate all), my eczema seems to stay in check. I must say that I also take 2 tbl. of Apple Cider Vinegar each day as well. I am still a newbie to the candida overgrowth conversation, but if anyone out there is at their wit's end with this problem, it might be worth a shot to read up on it. An added bonus...I have read about the relationship between eczema and hay fever, which I have suffered from my whole life. This year, with being on the candida diet, my allergy symptoms have been almost non-existent! I few sniffles and sneezes, but surely not the eye-closing, I-can't-breathe reactions that have been a part of my life every fall.

I've found Undecylenic acid. (10-undecenoic acid) is an eleven-carbon, mono-unsaturated fatty acid occurring naturally in the body's perspiration. While several fatty acids have beneficial effects on the flora that naturally inhabit the gastrointestinal tract, undecylenic acid is the most potent. It aids in the establishment of healthy gut and vaginal flora and is x6 beneficial than caprylic acid. It is a naturally occurring constituent of castor oil, which is isolated.
Along with the candida diet you need to start on a low dose and work your way up, because even for me the detox symptoms were pretty intense, although I didn't get the common ones. Mine were more ''emotional'' symptoms such as severe anxiety, ''flushes'', feeling ''spaced out'', fatigue, foggy etc. I really recommend everyone give it a go! I believe it is the most powerful antifungal out there. Still in the process but feel I'm on the way to restoring the imbalance. Well, that worked well for me. There were 3 months of die-off but thereafter the candida load has clearly reduced. My tongue has more pink in it. Depression is gone. Insomnia is gone. Jock itch, armpit rashes, itchy eyes, brain fog, athlete's foot are all gone. Only toe-nails are still deformed but they are slowly clearing.
I will take the soda till my tongue is pink.
For the past two weeks, I have also been doing herbal enemas too - 3 cloves of crushed garlic, a leaf of aloe vera in a cup of water then adding up more water to make a 2 litre enema solution. That has helped me I realize. My colon was blocked, and it still is I think. I will carry on with the enemas till the candida has cleared.

To digress a wee bit, the middle ear is also connected to the throat by a small tube -- called the Eustachian tube -- which helps to equalize pressure in the middle ear. So this open narrow tube can also perhaps act as a secret and safe hide-away cave for bacteria, fungus, viruses. I'm explaining some reasons here why your flu or cold never goes away. That's because the virus might perhaps be hiding in that ear tube, untouched and unreachable, happily breeding away and dumping all their offspring continuously into your throat region.
Other places these pathogens can hide and breed safely, as I've described before, are in the sinuses, nose, ears, nasopharynx cavity(cavity directly behind the nose and above the throat) as well as in the lower intestines and in the joint and backbone synovial fluids.
To disinfect the upper body regions, as I've mentioned before, just put half a teaspoon of gum turpentine in your mouth, mix it with some spit and slowly breath in the turps vapours through your mouth and out through your nose. Do this for about 2 or 3 minutes. And if you don't breath the vapours slow and easy then you will almost certainly cough. The wonderful thing about this inhalation method is that you don't need a nebulizer and you don't need a fine mist sprayer. This inhaltion method should effectively help to disinfect the mouth, gums, bronchials, lungs, nasopharynx cavity, nose and sinuses. I've affectionately called this turps inhalation method "Taking the Vapours".
Regarding your local ear infection problems wrt your systemic candida issues, its also quite likely that any fungal skin or ear infections are just symptoms or expressions of the systemic candida that has infected your blood. But don't get disheartened -- just focus on eradicating the systemic candida in your body -- this is the most important part of the strategy. And once you get rid of the systemic candida, then all your skin probems and other "symptoms" will just fade away and disappear. That's what happened to me when I cured my systemic candida. My psoriasis, eczma, jock itch and 25 y o athletes foot(caused by galloping 'jungle rot' from my old army days) all disappeared on their own without a whimper and without any topical treatments at all.
As to your final question -- Am I making progress ? -- I think that you have more common sense than most doctors. Your own experience and your advice in helping other people on this site deserves acclaim. And whatever you decide to do, don't stop using your Rife machine. I have high respect particularly for Rife technology because it makes complete sense. The only drawback is that it can be a steep learning curve learning about all the frequencies and harmonics and such.
And if you like I'll email Ted and get the Rife frequencies that he uses for both candida fungus and blood cancer. Not promising he'll answer, he's a busy guy, but I'll let you know either way. Ted uses a Rife BCX Ultra.

I stumbled onto this research paper which duly confirms that a substance called D, L-2-hydroxyisocaproic acid (HICA) will act against candida in the following way: inhibits candida growth; inhibits and reduces biofilm formation; reduces the production of candida waste poisons like acetaldehyde; destroys candida hyphae; inhibits the mutagenicity(cancer forming) of candida waste poisons; reduces inflammation.
In case anyone is wondering what the heck D, L-2-hydroxyisocaproic acid is -- VCO contains caproic acid and D, L-2-hydroxyisocaproic acid is just an isomer of the same.
So what they are really talking about in this research paper is why VCO, which also contains caproic acid, is so hugely beneficial as a natural supplement when you have systemic candida problems. Notably, VCO also contains caprylic acid, lauric acid and myristic acid -- all with additional, wide-acting and significant action across many pathogen species as well.

"The ability of C. albicans to form biofilms is a major virulence factor and a challenge for management. This is evident in biofilm-associated chronic oral-oesophageal candidosis, which has been shown to be potentially carcinogenic in vivo. We have previously shown that most Candida spp. can produce significant levels of mutagenic acetaldehyde (ACH). ACH is also an important mediator of candidal biofilm formation. We have also reported that D, L-2-hydroxyisocaproic acid (HICA) significantly inhibits planktonic growth of C. albicans. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of HICA on C. albicans biofilm formation and ACH production in vitro. Inhibition of biofilm formation by HICA, analogous control compounds or caspofungin was measured using XTT to measure biofilm metabolic activity and PicoGreen as a marker of biomass. Biofilms were visualised by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). ACH levels were measured by gas chromatography. Transcriptional changes in the genes involved in ACH metabolism were measured using RT-qPCR. So citrate may simply be thought of as the post-digested form of citric acid. The point to take away here is that drinking the raw lemon juice containing the citric acid needs to first be digested and neutralized to citrate form before digestion and absorbtion into the blood. But the bicarbonates stored in the pancreas are also crucial to help maintain the correct alkaline body pH in other parts of the body. So if you take the raw lemon juice then you are effectively wasting the body's bicarbonate stores(which could be used elsewhere in the body to aid other metabolic processes) in the pancreas and reducing them.
So that's why it's far better to take the post-digested form of lemon juice(as citrate) by adding water and sodium bicarbonate(baking soda) to the raw lemon juice and then drinking it this way. This form does not need to be converted to citrate -- it is already in the post-digested citrate form -- and will be easily absorbed into the blood without depleting the crucial bicarbonate stores in the pancreas.
And apart from the above reasons, if you drink raw acidic lemon juice or vinegar then the acids in them will tend to erode and dissolve the enamel on your teeth over the longer term. That's yet another reason why it's better to supplement the more alkaline citrate or post-digested form of lemon juice using sodium bicarbonate.
Regarding your UTI and back problems, these are probably being caused by excess cell and blood acidity caused by the candida and other poisons being released in your body. This acidity can cause damage to the fine filtration network in the kidneys which might be causing your back problems. And if your kidneys are not up scratch then fungal/bacterial infections will get through to infect the bladder causing the UTI problems. That's why its important that you should be taking the lemon in water mixed baking soda -- this will help to alkalize the cells and should help to reduce the pain. Take this outside mealtimes twice a day and also take 1/2 teaspoon baking soda on its own with water at about 9:00 pm before you sleep. Both these protocols will help to make your body more alkaline and should help you. For the back problem you might also want to try using a tablespoon of VCO mixed with about six drops of lavender oil or tea tree oil or clove oil for some immediate relief.

Also, you have the potassium iodide form which is certainly useful but not as useful as LI which contains all three forms of iodine in solution -- iodine, iodide and triiodide. Since your Iodine Forte is just potassium iodide it will therefore not have the same benefits as LI because it does not contain the other two forms -- iodine and triiodide -- in solution.
That's why it might perhaps be better and more effective to use Lugols Iodine. Also remember that you can use Iodoral if you wish which is just LI in a pill. You can find and order Iodoral easily on the internet.
If you have already bought the Iodine Forte I wouldn't throw it away -- you can still use it for other things.

I would recommend taking Oregano Oil extracts in the a.m. and garlic oil extract before retiring as a simple first step. An herbal parasite formula like "Black Walnut Complex" is advised. Also take 25-50 mg Zinc Citrate w/ 10, 000 iu Vit-A daily (this will boost immune function and protect the gut from invading pathogens. L-Glutamine will boost the immune cells in the intestines.
Start w/ this and continue for a few wks and if you don't see much good results fallow Bill's anti-candida protocol which is available in full version in his new book "Killing So Sweetly" or the truncated version here on E.C.

You could also perhaps try using 1% solution of hydrogen peroxide. Fill a dropper with 1% HP and squirt it carefully and slowly into the infected ear. Tip your head and massage around the ear lightly and allow the HP to go deep into your ear passages. And yes, it will tickle and fizz which is proof enough that HP is killing the pathogens in your ear. If you can, keep the HP in your ear until the fizzing greatly reduces or stops. When you're finished just tip the HP out of your ear into the sink. You should use this protocol for both ears -- at least once a day until the infection disappears.
You should not really eat sweet fruit or honey of you have candida. Most sweet fruits contain fructose which is a favourite food for candida and other pathogens. So you should really try to avoid avoid sugar, carbohydrates and fruits as best you can if you have systemic candida issues.
You are also right -- I did eat fruit in the beginning when I took my protocol but eventually gave it up to good effect. Don't forget that was over 11 years ago -- I know a heck of alot more about candida now than I did all those years ago.
I must also admit that I do eat fruit now for breakfast depending on seasonal availability -- sometimes yellow mango or carabao mango, native pineapple (not Del Monte), pomelo (grandfather of the grapefruit), dalandan (small, sour native orange), rambutan (a bit like lychees), apple, lanzones, soursop (like graviola), grapes, calamansi (like small lime -- used in hot or cold sour drinks and dips), mangosteen, tamarind fruit(unprocessed), coconut water. Always fresh and never in excess.

"If apple cider vinegar helps cure candida yeast infections, then why do some people say to avoid fermented foods for candida?"
The recommendation to avoid fermented foods and vinegar in order to cure candida is misleading. I believe it comes from the desire to avoid moldy foods and fermented yeasty beverages like beer and wine.
Mold aggravates candida symptoms and alcohol is a yeast fermentation product, where, in some cases, yeasts can still be present in the beverage. Some people feel it's best to avoid yeast in any form when following a candida diet (but that's for another page altogether).
Alcohol is a waste product of yeasts eating sugar. The reason it's best to avoid alcohol when doing a natural candida cure diet is because the candida yeasts excrete alcohol as a byproduct of sugar metabolism, which contribute to the feelings of brain fog, lack of coordination, fatigue and muscle weakness. We don't want to add even more alcohol to a body which is already a little "drunk".
Note: That's why my candida recipes are all low carbohydrate; carbohydrates are sugars. Sugars feed candida. Candida produces alcohol as a waste product of eating the sugars.
Alcohol and vinegar both go through a fermentation process, in fact, vinegar is made from alcohol!
But they're not the same. Just as mold and naturally fermented sauerkraut are quite different from each other.
In very simplified terms - Wine is made from fruit juice which has undergone a yeast fermentation, where the yeasts ferment the sugars into alcohol. Making vinegar from wine involves another fermentation process, called acetobacter fermentation. Acetobacter is a kind of bacteria which converts alcohol into acetic acid (the major component in vinegar).
By the time something has been fermented into vinegar, there are no more yeasts or sugars to worry about.
Along the same fermentation lines as apple cider vinegar (and therefore similar in its benefits) is sauerkraut that has been fermented by lactic acid bacteria. Cabbage is one of the easiest vegetables to ferment, as its naturally loaded with lactic acid bacteria.
Sauerkraut is sour because the bacteria has fermented the sugars in the cabbage. It's the same reason vinegar tastes sour. Fermented foods like vinegar and sauerkraut are not at all like wine, beer, or mold.
Stay away from mold whenever possible."
